So…I folded a 6th origami Kakyoin. Yes, a 6th. But I think my shaping has improved since the first fold!
Paper was double tissue, gold on one side, green on the other. Did some editing to make the color changes look more pinkish instead of gold in the photos.
I’m hoping to be able to create more origami designs sometime in the future. I think Jolyne would be a lot of fun as an origami model in terms of what the shaping process might look like.
Featuring photos of the precreased sheet before collapsing the base this time.
[ID: collage made mostly with different types of blue tissue paper of a girl holding a cotton candy sticker. She looks melancholy and is surrounded by medical crosses in hearts as well as capsule pills, which are concentrated around the cotton candy end ID]
Momo and Midwife sculpture I made back in January! Still super proud of this one :)
While sketching concepts, I couldn't decide between the two so I just decided to do both of em, but by the time I made the base for the first Mochibi I realized I had made this thing way bigger than intended.
The girls stand at almost 2 feet tall not counting the stick and under 3 feet tall with it, worked real hard to translate Archuma's design to 3D and I'm glad I pulled it off (was gonna add the tongue but I ran out of time)
Made using basket reed and hot glue for the base, layers of tissue paper applied using a water + glue-on mix, and painted using Acrylic
Thought I'd get the tissue paper out and try something a bit different to normal (whatever that means in my random, arty little world). So here are my works in progress that I will go back into once dry.
Second fold of my Kakyoin design from the same crease pattern as before. I think this one is more successful than the last, at least in terms of the face and cherry earrings.
Folded from a 60 cm square of double tissue paper. I am hoping to revise things when I have the time, motivation, and inspiration! Wish I had better display stands for my origami.
