timkon clone baby au where when bruce comes back he's furious to learn that tim made a baby bc what the fuck, tim? that's so irresponsible- and then he lays eyes on the baby and immediately falls in love and suddenly his lecturing is much less effective when he's bouncing a baby on his knees and pausing every 30 seconds to coo at it

Timkon clon baby au but Bruce loves his grandson way too much he stops being Batman for a while to help single teen parent Tim being yk a parent.
Like, he's soooo down to being a grandfather that as soon as he sees the baby in Tim's arms he doesn't even asks where it comes from he's just omgomgomg a babyyyy.
Because, yk, he never got the chance to hold his kids when they were babies and now he can hold the baby of one of his babies.
Enter making the mannor baby proof on day one and making a whole room a playground!
And he sees how Tim is like, not okay, like, yes he's happy he's a father now, but the grief of his friend dying is still there and the guilt of trying to clone him AND successfully doing it is not going away quickly enough for him to be able to take care of a whole human being, so Bruce of course steps up (because he's a good father when he needs to, AND THAT'S A BABY OK).
So, being Batman vs being there for his son and grandchild? Obviously his family needs him more.
So pretty much everyone commits to the cause.
Dick can be Batman for a while, just like once a week so Gotham knows he's still there. Jason may help a little by not causing trouble and Cass is so down to watch the kid 24/7 because they don't know if he has powers yet or when will they appear.
Just a big bat family trying their best for the new baby!
Edit: follow up!

Something something... mama's boy... something something... doomed yaoi...
Guys I'm gonna be honest here and say that I think that Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne— the boy who became Robin to save Batman and keep Robin's legacy alive, the boy who was haunted by this poor dead boy and constantly hallucinated his existence, the boy whose middle name is a constant reminder that his father is dead— would NOT want to name his kid after a dead person! I know lots of people are fans of him naming his kids Jack/Jackie or Wendy, but I can't really see him naming his kid after a TV character...I wish I was good with baby names so that I could branch this out a bit,,,
N E WAYS this silly little phone sketch was bc of @hyperblue 's post!! <3 Thanks for the inspo!

timkon clone baby enthusiasts HELP
does anyone have the post where Tim unpods the clone baby and hastily wraps them in Kon’s shirt because the lab is cold and it’s the first thing he could reach but then he starts crying when he realises it’s The Shirt

How about Accidental Baby Acquisition for the askgame :D
This is where y'all discover that TimKon clone baby rules my entire life actually.
*
It's...small.
Well. Wait; Kon's face scrunches up. He shouldn't be using 'it'. It's a baby. It's going to become a person one day. So it's a...
(Kon checks discreetly.)
It's a he. For now, anyway. Maybe the baby will make a different decision when he's older.
...Kon pales.
Oh god. When the baby's older. He's already thinking about this baby as a foregone conclusion, and not, like, back end of Tim's weird one-stop cloning shop Tim's depression had built while Kon was dead.
Still. The baby's so small in his arms. When he yawns, little toothless mouth wide and gummy and his little pink tongue showing, Kon feels like every one of his internal organs is being crushed simultaneously.
It's just. The baby is so stinking cute. He has little dark fuzz for hair, and a little baby nose, and soft little hands with nails that aren't even real yet, but still flex and grab when they want something Kon can get them. His little toes are to die for. He's got a round little belly that's maybe a little too thin by human standards, but Kon can fix that. Some time and some formula's got to help speed that along real quick.
There's no question about it— really, there never was, because even with a backlog of desperate emails sent to a dead half-alien superhero clone that documented Tim's spiral into despair-induced mania, Kon had jumped out of bed and flown off as soon as he'd realized the sender was Tim's Bat secure random-generated-gibberish email.
Sure, he'd hoped to see a living, thriving Tim on the other end, and not a test tube baby floating in a tub of its own recycled growth medium, but hey. Tim's weird. It's Kon's job to be adaptable when his assigned Bat goes off the rails.
"I bet Ma's gonna love you," Kon whispers into the baby's cheek, and takes a moment to wipe more of the medium from the infant with the edge of his shirt.
The baby sneezes in agreement, and that's good enough for Kon.

The timkon clone baby should have been a girl named after Tim's mom because...
Clark has a son named Jon.
Kon could have a daughter named Jan.

category: Gen
fandom: DC Comics (Young Justice, Batfamily)
characters and relationships: Tim Drake, clone baby, Kon haunts the narrative (Timkon isn’t explicit but. it’s a clone baby au)
warnings: almost drowning, infant whump
Summary:
@ailesswhumptober Day 29: Ownership, branding, “Everybody will know that you’re mine.”
Tim tries to clone Kon, but this time it works.
notes: I can write so many Timkon fics with this prompt list :fireElmo: Inspired by this post by @hyperblue which has haunted me from the moment I saw it please come bother me with interest about this AU or any of mine plsplspls on my knees in tears pls
Tim woke to the loud beeping of one of the many machines in his lab. He blinked and rubbed his eyes, frowning at his reflection in the powerless computer screen; there were sleep marks on his cheek from the sleeve of his sweater, but aside from that he barely looked like he’d rested at all. The circles under his eyes hadn’t budged, and he sighed and scrubbed his hands across his face. It wasn’t like anyone was going to see them, anyway. He rarely left his lab except to grab more snacks from Titans Tower when he ran out, his work far too important to abandon.
Tim got up and trudged past the empty cloning chambers to look for whatever had gone wrong, picking at the plaster on his arm where he’d drawn his own blood. His tablet lay on a table across the room, and he needed to recheck the Kryptonian environment values he’d copied off the Batcomputer-
One of the chambers wasn’t empty.
He stared at it for a second, seeing but not quite understanding. Attempt one hundred and twenty-nine successful, the green letters said cheerfully. He stepped closer slowly, as if it was an animal that would lunge and try to bite him, and gingerly placed a hand against the glass. It was near but not exactly room temperature — 99.2 degrees Fahrenheit, 37.3 degrees Celcius, to be precise, ever so slightly warmer than a regular human temperature.
“It worked,” he said to the empty lab. The machines keeping 129 alive seemed to sigh in response, then the beeping got louder, and the infant stirred in its glowing pod. No, not just stirred. It flinched.
Error, the screen read now in bright failure red. The small letters underneath would have told him the reason, but he didn’t read it because 129 was struggling, tiny lungs seeking desperately for air and only receiving fluid. Tim’s heart screamed, and then he realised he was screaming.
He can’t lose him. Not again and not like this.
One heartbeat, and he was rushing forward, smashing the glass with his bo staff and pulling the infant out of the pod. 129 coughed up liquid and was still for a terrifyingly long moment, and Tim’s heart froze in his chest.
Then the baby took a shaky breath and let out a gloriously loud cry. Now he was wet and wailing, but he was breathing. At least he was breathing. Tim went to rub a hand across his face in relief and halted when he realised it was covered in thick fluid. “It’s okay,” he said, and realised his throat was choked with tears. 129 cried louder and kicked his little legs as Tim became painfully aware how austere and clinical his lab was, absolutely no place for a helpless infant. There was no milk ready for him, no swaddling cloths to wrap him up in. And it was so, so cold. He must be so cold. Get it together, Drake.
There was a shirt hanging on the back of his chair, and Tim reached for it, wrapping 129 in the black fabric and holding him close. “Shhh. It’s okay. Shh, shh.” The baby’s cries lowered slightly in volume, but didn’t stop. Tim bounced him gently, folding the shirt over him to keep him warm better-
The edge of a familiar red insignia peeked out from underneath the folds of the shirt, and Tim froze. Kon’s shirt had artificial amniotic fluid and a crying baby in it. Kon’s shirt was wet and soiled and ruined and gone and Tim can’t even protect this one last part of him can he-
Then he was sliding down the wall to the floor and realised he was the one crying now. “I’m sorry,” he gasped, to Kon and to 129 and to no one at all. “I’m s- I’m so sorry.” 129 made a soft sound in his arms, but that just made him cry harder. Tim couldn’t take care of a baby. He’d failed Kon and failed Bart and failed Bruce and it’d been barely a day and he was already failing 129.
As if that wasn’t enough, he had the stark realisation that the child in his arms resembled old baby pictures of Tim himself a little too closely, the tiniest package of Kryptonian blue eyes in a round little face. “Everyone will know you’re mine.” This wasn’t supposed to happen. His DNA was supposed to stabilise Kon’s, not influence it. He’d given 129 the curse of being related to him, in addition to being the ghost of a dead man.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” He curled in around the infant and wept, surrounded by broken glass and a broken heart.

tim: so... yeah. i'll totally understand if you want nothing to do with that

kon:
tim:

I want a Timkon clone baby where tim realises he’s kind of batshit insane right now and not equipped to raise an infant, so he leaves the baby on the manor doorstep and disappears into thin air to do a martial arts eat pray love until he’s sane again because he doesn’t know what therapy is. And now Bruce is not only a first time grandpa but a first time infant caregiver and he’s been thrown into the deep end with an alien baby who instead of pissing on him when he’s being changed can shoot lasers at him, scream so loud it shakes the foundations and launch projectiles at people with TTK. He has to wear a full bomb proof batsuit to change the little guy and has ma Kent on speed dial
Bruce, calling Clark at 2:47 am: Clark, I need your help, it's an emergency
Clark, who has never heard Batman ask for help so directly, knows whatever's going on must be truly dire: What is it? What do you need? I can be there right away
Bruce, desparate: I need your mother's phone number
Clark, not sure what emergency could be solved by his mother in the middle of the night: ...My mother's...phone number?
*loud crash in the background, followed by crying*
Clark: Um...what exactly is going on?
Bruce, using the bat voice: Your. Mother's. Phone number. Now

For my own take on Timkon baby clon au I'd like to imagine Bruce going everywhere with his grandson.
Imagine this:
Tumblr media
But is Bruce Wayne with his grandson going to a meeting in WE.
Is all the family occupied on their own things that they cannot babysit the child so Bruce had to take him with him? Absolutely no, everyone is free, but Bruce wanted to show him to everyone in WE.
Cue all the workers, from interns to the shareholders cooing the baby and seeing (maybe forcedly) the 300 pics Bruce took of the baby eating breakfast today.
I'm living for proud grandpa Bruce ok.

One reason I haven't updated shifting priorities in well over a year is that I've been fixated on an AU of my AU in which Bernard is thrown into the mix.
Like, Tim has been so fixated on trying to clone Kon that he has pretty much completely ignored his body. That cloning tube and Kon's DNA are pretty much the only things he cares about. And he's tried and failed 99 times. He's running out of Kon's DNA, nothing has worked, so he gets an extra boost of desperation.
He uses his own DNA as a stabilizing agent.
So, fun thing about cloning is that it requires a donor egg. The genetic material of the egg itself is removed and replaced with the complete DNA of whatever you're trying to clone (don't quote me on this, this is my recollection/understanding of how they made Dolly).
Tim, who in this AU has the parts that would produce a human egg (trans!Tim or AOB, dealer's choice for the purposes of this run-down), decides he's going to cut out the middle man and use his own.
Only to find out that he's pregnant. It doesn't really click in his head until he's gotten his egg and already started the 100th attempt (forgetting to remove his DNA from the egg before adding in Kon's), so when it finally hits him, he's staring at a cloning tube with a (finally) viable embryo.
So he goes out and gets himself a pregnancy test, and this is where he crosses paths with Bernard. Bernard just kind of stumbles across him in the local CVS, and at first thinks he could try to reconnect and made shoot his shot, only to realize exactly where he's found Tim.
And never let it be said that Bernard Dowd is a coward.
So he squares up and heads over, and ends up basically being Tim's moral support for the remainder of the pregnancy. He had even planned to be in the delivery room with Tim when the baby was born (which didn't happen because the baby decided to arrive a month early and in the most traumatic way possible).
He's not actually expecting anything from Tim. Clearly, Tim's got enough on his plate, and he's clearly still not over whoever it was who got him knocked up. So Bernard's mostly just trying to be a good friend. And if something eventually develops, well. Bernard certainly won't complain.
Bernard was thrown for kind of a loop when Danny came along, but delayed twins are a thing, so...he just kind of rolls with it. It's Gotham. Weirder things have happened.
He puts a lot of time into helping Tim out with the not-twins, and maybe kind of starts to think of the kids as maybe sort of his. In, like, a dad-that-stepped-up kind of way. Bernard is honestly surprised by how down he's turned out to be for basically co-parenting with Tim.
They end up building up a working system over the next few months, with Bernard coming over after school to mind the kids so Tim could get so rest in. By the time the not-twins are a month old, Bernard's kind of...moved into Wayne Manor. In an unofficial capacity.
And just when things seem to have reached a sort of equilibrium, Bruce dies. Or, well, it seems pretty overt that he's dead. Bernard's been in the know (to an extent) since Tim brought Danny home, so when Tim tells him his theory about the portrait of Mordecai Wayne, Bernard (funky little conspiracy theorist that he is) believes him.
Tim ends up leaving Danny and Ellie in Bernard's care so he can go and hunt down enough proof to bring Bruce home, with encouragement from Bernard (and the condition that Tim maintains regular contact while gone). It's not easy, being a single parent to twins is even less easy, but Bernard fully believes that this is something Tim needs to do, and he was already pretty much done with school, so he doesn't have to worry about college until the fall.
BruceQuest occurs largely unchanged from canon, save for the fact that Tim is less passively suicidal throughout. And when Kon finds him in that sewer...well, Tim's half-convinced he's talking to a hallucination, so he mentions the not-twins.
After that encounter, Kon makes a bee-line for Gotham, and gets to meet the babies. One thing leads to another, and Kon and Bernard end up co-parenting while Tim's off saving Bruce's bacon.
When everything is handled and Tim's back home with Bruce not too far behind, the three of them end up having to have a discussion about what they're gonna do moving forward.
Endgame TimBerKon.
