Concept: villain!everlasting Tucker has a scheme (sam and Danny are there too but as support)
in Gotham and the case is assigned for a reason of your choosing**copyrighted**
During this case (which i imagine takes atleast a month) Tim slowly comes to realise foley IS ACTUALLY SMART **also copyrighted**
When foleys scheme is “foiled” sam does her scheme Where Tim also Comes to realise sams true personality, then its dannys turn.
basically this is an idea on How the everlasting trio becomes a quartet! (Bernard Can join too but i dont know the Word for a group of five, besides i have an idea for How Tim and the group Fall in move at a medium pace but No idea for Bernard, you Can come up with one tho)

Either way, Batman wins in the end.

Listen I’m all for more trans and otherwise gender divergent characters in dc comics but Kon didn’t want people to call him Superboy because he viewed himself as SuperMAN. He wanted agency and control over his own life through the means of emancipation from the authorities attempting to control him and his growth was learning to both allow himself to be a kid and to mature mentally.

why are people so against oliver and ryan talking about buddie, don't we want this, don't we want buddie to be canon? i'm sorry are we rooting for buck to end up with tommy or something, like I don't understand why so many people are saying stop asking them about buddie?
If we want Buddie then shouldn't we be asking buddie questions? I mean I'm so sorry but I'm just very confused, shouldn't we be happy that buddie is getting this much press and love? Why are we against it?
Okay, this is going to be a long one.
There are a few reasons why people are concerned about publications teasing Buddie happening and using the ship name and asking Oliver and Ryan about the ship. I'll try to be as concise as possible.
I would like to note, I'm not going to answer a bunch of questions about this. Other people have answered similar questions plenty of times, if you take a bit to look around 911blr. I'm sure @catdadeddie has gone into this a few times.
However, I understand that we are getting a lot of new fans this season, and so I want to try and explain comprehensively for those who haven't been around. I hope this covers everything.
Whenever a ship is between two people of the same gender as opposed to two people of the opposite gender (I know, I know, but we can't get into the gender spectrum right now just play along with me), everyone involved has to be very, very careful when it comes to talking about that ship ahead of said ship going canon.
It is very easy to slip into something called "queerbaiting." I'm assuming that you and most people online and in fandom by now have heard of this term but just in case: queerbaiting is when a show acts like a queer ship might happen in marketing and promotion in order to draw in a queer audience.
Historically, this was done by having a main character played by a woman have a romantic thing with another woman (flirting, even kissing!) who was a guest star, hinting at the main character's bisexuality/queerness, only for that guest star to never come back and for the show to act like it had never happened. This was done during something called, IIRC, "sweeps week" which was basically an important week for TV viewer ratings in the 90s. It was a way to boost your numbers by drawing in queer viewers with the promise of actual queer rep that then wasn't realized. It's a marketing tactic.
Nowadays the nature of queerbaiting has changed a bit. It's an overused term that frankly people love to (mis)use whenever a ship of theirs doesn't go canon and a show dares to do things like having two people (like say Ryan and Oliver) who play the two halves of the ship do an interview together (whether you ship Buddie or not, they are close friends, and it makes sense that they'd do a few interviews together - that is not queerbaiting). A good example of real queerbaiting is Rizzoli & Isles which, among other things, took out billboards and magazine spreads showing the characters (two women) in suggestively sexual and romantic positions and with slogans hinting that the two had more than just friendship together, then never, ever delivered on it and in fact laughed at the idea of the characters being gay for each other.
(I WAS THERE, GANDALF!!!)
Because of this unfortunate treatment of queer audiences and the (historic) dearth of actual queer characters and queer ships going canon (it's getting better but still), networks, showrunners, and so on have to be very careful when, say, they want to make a queer ship canon.
Look at how ABC handled Chenford, a popular ship in their show The Rookie. Chenford was not a planned ship - the fans adored the chemistry between the two characters (Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford), the writers liked the idea and decided to lean into it, ABC gave the go-ahead, and the ship officially got together and went canon last season. ABC heavily promoted Chenford and the ship and made a lot of jokes about it in the last couple of seasons leading into the ship going canon, using the ship heavily in their marketing.
ABC cannot necessarily do that with Buddie, because even if Buddie is going canon, until that happens, they could get accused of queerbaiting. There's a much bigger minefield to navigate because of this historic misuse of queer audiences and queer characters.
So whenever journalists and publications use a popular non-canonical queer ship name for clicks and fandom interest, if that ship doesn't immediately go canon or if the network/showrunner/etc doesn't say "yeah they're totally gonna kiss! with tongue!" people accuse the show of queerbaiting. This is unfair to the show for two reasons: one, the network is not going to bother sending "shut the fuck up" letters to every single damn publication out there for using a ship name in their headline and talking about a ship - they'll be accused of homophobia and it draws even MORE attention to the issue re: the Barbra Streisand effect (look it up); and two, the people involved in the show are NOT going to spoil the anticipation and surprise by admitting ANY ship is going to go canon before it does.
This is simple marketing - the movie trailer doesn't (or shouldn't, anyway) show you the ending of the movie or everything that happens in it. TV shows want you to tune in every week and speculate and guess. They're not gonna spoil a ship ahead of time.
This means that when journalists and articles pull this shit, they're putting the showrunner, the writers, the actors doing interviews, and the network in a bad situation that they can't really do anything about. Not without causing more mess.
So that's reason number one why a lot of us are annoyed: by yelling about Buddie, these articles and journalists are setting the cast and crew we love up to get yelled at for queerbaiting if Buddie doesn't immediately happen, and there's nothing the cast and crew can do about it, and it's all so the journalists and articles can use us, the fandom, for clicks. So we're also kinda getting used here, and it doesn't feel great.
The second reason we're annoyed about Buddie questions is that it's being asked of the actors who, nine times out of ten, have ZERO CONTROL OVER THE STORYLINES.
Now, there are exceptions. Jennifer Love Hewitt, who plays Maddie, has pushed back on a couple storylines that were given to her and has therefore had a strong hand in shaping Maddie's character. One infamous (in a positive way) example is that Maddie and Eddie were supposed to be an endgame couple. JLH, however, immediately loved the character of Chimney and clicked with Chim's actor Kenneth Choi, so she asked if Maddie could get with Chim instead, feeling he'd be a better fit for her character. And lo, both the beautiful ship Madney and the insanity that is Buddie shipping was born because Buck ended up stepping into that co-parenting-Chris role that Maddie obviously would've originally filled.
However, it should be noted that JLH was an established star before coming onto 9-1-1, and her husband is friends with Tim the showrunner. I would argue that the only other two actors who have any power on their storylines are Peter and Angela, the latter because she can do whatever she wants forever, and the former because (like Angela) he is an executive producer on the show.
It's not that actors never ever get to have a say ever, but the writers, showrunner, and network have much more power. They create the storylines, they make the decisions. Not actors. So when the actors are repeatedly asked about a ship, they're put in an awkward position where they might not even know the full storyline for their character that season and now they need to answer in a way that doesn't reveal any information they do know, but also doesn't insult shippers or dash their hopes. This is a double minefield for queer ships because, again: historic insults to queer fans and characters, nobody wants to be offensive.
The third reason is that this fandom has, historically, treated Tim, Oliver, and others like absolute dogshit over Buddie not going canon. Oliver's left Twitter and taken big social media breaks because of how he was yelled at online. It's not cool, guys. Vent all you want but directing it at the cast and crew isn't okay and maybe if it was just you talking sternly that would be fine (maybe) but when it's dozens of people? It's bullying. Full stop.
Every single time Buddie has not gone canon instantly, the actors and others have gotten verbally abused on social media. Every time the actors have been asked about Buddie and not said "ohmygod yes I want it to happen so bad" (they are not allowed to say this because it might create false hope because again: historical queerbaiting) they've gotten yelled at. We are tired of the actors getting yelled at over something over which they have no control.
The fourth reason is that Oliver, especially, has gotten asked about Buddie a LOT. A lot. The poor man is very tired. He's been cornered about Buddie and asked about it aggressively by certain journalists (one journalist, Max Gao, actually tried to corner Gavin who plays Chris over Buddie - this was a few years ago so Gavin was even younger than he is now and I personally think that is an incredibly unfairly loaded question to give to a child).
If I may dive into speculation for a moment, given how the actors have been SO gleeful about the move to ABC, the fact that they've admitted ABC is letting them do storylines and little moments that FOX wouldn't, and a few other things I won't get into here because this damn thing is long enough already... I suspect FOX would not let Buddie happen. If this is the case, then actors being asked about Buddie is even more loaded because they are being asked questions about it and they can't say "yeah we want to but the network won't let us." THEY WILL GET FIRED FOR THIS.
But, whether or not my speculation is true, the fact remains that when you are repeatedly, over and over, aggressively asked if this fan ship is going to happen or not, you get tired. There's only so many times that someone can give a diplomatic answer before you just want to snap "stop fucking asking me!" Journalists love to take advantage of fandom and social media chatter to get attention for their articles so asking over and over again about Buddie isn't because they genuinely care or think it'll happen, it's to get shippers reading their article, and so bombarding the actors and writers with this question when they've already kinda said their peace a lot about it is frustrating. Just! Leave them alone!
And AGAIN: if this was a M/F ship there could maybe be room for teasing the will-they-won't-they but because of historically bad treatment of queer characters and fans, THEY CANNOT DO THAT. So the only option open to them is to KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT. And keeping one's mouth shut and threading that diplomatic needle for years is EXHAUSTING.
We do want Buddie to be canon, nonny, and in my opinion we are going to get it. All this recent PR supports that, (again: in my opinion).
However, we have seen Oliver get bombarded with what he thinks about Buddie until the cows come home, and he deserves a break. There's nothing new he can say, there's nothing new he's allowed to say. We have seen other parts of the fandom scream that we're being queerbaited because Buddie didn't instantly go canon, without any consideration for the fact that a) queerbaiting is a marketing tactic and b) there might be other factors at play preventing it going canon. We have seen journalists take advantage of us, the shippers, in order to get attention, and we have seen them create an awkward and embarrassing atmosphere in interviews by repeatedly asking about the ship. We have seen shippers make us look bad by hounding the cast and crew on social media about Buddie, treating every woman actress who plays a Buck/Eddie love interest like shit (yes, I know about Edy, but she could be a saint and parts of the fandom would still go onto Instagram to call her names), and generally being absolute pills that would tempt any showrunner, actor, or writer to say "y'know what fuck 'em let's not make Buddie canon I'm not rewarding this shitty behavior."
"If we want Buddie then shouldn't we be asking Buddie questions?" No. Not like journalists and fans have been. It's something to bring up - in my opinion - sparingly and with an awareness of how queer storylines and ships and fandom have been mocked, ignored, baited, and so on over the years. They don't ask about Buddie because they give a shit. They ask because they want our clicks for their ad revenue and they want our retweets and likes and comments. And it's certainly not something to bombard the actors with on social media and bitch at them if it doesn't happen. It just makes the rest of fandom look bad and makes us look like children.
Additionally: These are not new questions! They're not only asking these questions now that it looks like Buddie will go canon, with serious hope and consideration based on the marketing and storylines. They've been asking this since season fucking two, when Buddie was clearly not planned, just to get fangirl (gn) clicks. They wanted to get attention and teehee over how Oliver/Ryan/whoever reacted to people thinking Buck and Eddie should touch dicks. 'Kay?
We know the pattern. So when every piece of media is screaming BUDDIE!!! we are not seeing it as "OMG could we go canon?" We see it as another round of being taken advantage of for article attention, another round of parts of the fandom being bullies and yelling about being baited, and another round of the actors being backed into uncomfortable corners.
That's why we're concerned, worried, and annoyed.
*collapses* I hope this covered everything and explained it all.

Ship dysphoria
Ok so a bit of time has gone by, and the 9-1-1 fandom is settling into a bit of an...existential crisis?
Because 90% of this fandom is built on Buddie. Buddie has always been the strongest driving force. We love our other blorbos, but it's Buddie that usually drives us feral.
Except...Buck/Tommy. OMG. It is WORKING for a lot of fans. (and JFC we cannot settle on a ship name. Tevan? Kinley? I'm gonna stick with Buck/Tommy)
A LOT of fans are having a "I'm a devoted Buddie shipper, why do I like this so much??" moment and it can almost feel like a betrayal, or that you're deserting the ship (the ship that, remember, Oliver told us to stay aboard).
And I think I can probably speak for everybody when I say that the last thing we want or need is a ship war in this fandom, something we haven't ever really had but which has torn other fandoms apart.
So I'm gonna put on my veteran-of-many-fandoms hat for a second and tell you a thing:
It's okay to ship Buck and Tommy. It's ok to do that and still ship Buddie. It's also okay to leave Buddie behind if it's not working for you anymore. It's okay to just tolerate Buck and Tommy and not really care about it, and stay focused on Buddie. You are allowed to ship however it works for you, and you are not limited to one and only one ship. If you decide you don't think Buddie will happen and you're going to cut your losses, that's okay, too. It is not a reflection on your character or something. You don't swear an oath of fealty to a ship.
We don't know how long Tommy will stick around, but Buck will still be bisexual. He may date another man. He may date a woman again. You can ship those things too.
But why is this ship hitting me so hard? I never thought I'd like Buck with another man! I'm so confused!
I get that. There are some reasons why that might be.
There is something very appealing about a ship that's canon. Some of you might never have had a canon queer ship, but the pull is strong. There's no guessing, no interpreting, no subtext-examining. It's there, it's real, you don't have to wonder if you're just overinterpreting things. Yes. Buck and Tommy kissed and are going on a date. Even if that's all it ever is, you'll never be accused of "seeing things that aren't there." Don't discount that.
Tommy, even in just 1.5 episodes, is a LOT more integrated into the firefam than any of Buck's previous girlfriends. Tim talked about not wanting him to be "siloed off" away from the main cast and that was exactly the problem with his prior girlfriends. Tommy is friends with Eddie. He knows Christopher and has hung out with him. He spent most of that loft conversation reassuring Buck that his place in Eddie's life was secure. He feels more like part of the gang than any other ones. That makes it easier to see him in Buck's life.
The mere fact of Buck's queer awakening is so monumental for so many of us that the character who helped him get there is going to naturally earn our affection immediately, and it's going to make you want that relationship to succeed, even if it's ulitmately not endgame for Buck. You want to see Buck have a good experience the first time out with a man. Of course you do.
And we just want to see Buck make out with a hot beefy firefighter. That is so valid of us.
Anyway. There is no need for a crisis. You can love Buddie with your whole heart and still be excited about this pairing, and want to see how it goes, and read fic about it. I may be writing a lil something myself.
You're good, fam.

We’ve all heard of internalised homophobia Damian but I raise you never even heard of homophobia Damian.
Talia has been hinted at being bisexual ( or at least not fully straight) in a few different comic panels that I literally cannot find for the life of me. So I don’t think that she would care too much about Damian being straight.
I can imagine that sexuality literally didn’t matter in the league people were probably more concerned about staying alive and all that.
Furthermore I can’t see Ra’s caring too much about what sexuality Damian is either . The only reason that I think would make him disapprove is making heirs but at the end of the day they have cloning technology so that makes that argument invalid.
I doubt homophobia was even a thing in the league or that homosexuality was talked about at all. I think being apart of the LQBTQIA+ community would be very normalised there.
Because of this Damain doesn’t feel the need to bring up his sexuality to the Bats. Why would he it’s normal for him, people don’t come out in the league because nobody cares who you’re attracted to. The Bats obviously don’t know this though so when Damian starts going out with boys they think that he’s trying to hide it from them. ( He isn’t hiding the fact that he’s gay it’s just what he’s doing on his dates he doesn’t want them knowing about. )
The bats decide to bring it up to Damian and have a heart to heart conversation with him, about how they will love him no matter what. Damian is confused the entire time. At the end of the conversation which is just a huge PowerPoint made by Tim that everyone gets sick of 45 out of 390 slides in, Damian is like “ Yes I am Gay, literally why do you care?” And walks out because this is just so cringy to him.

Going to need the 911twt fandom (well toxic buddie shippers there really) to learn what narrative misdirection and a plot twist are. Tim has been very open in saying he purposely framed 7.04 so the audience would think it was a friendship jealously about Eddie on Buck’s part but the reveal at the end was that it was romantic jealously about Tommy instead.
Where is the narrative literacy?
I’m not saying he wasn’t also feeling a bit left out of things with Eddie and Chris but the root cause of his actions in the episode was that he felt something for Tommy and was trying to get close to him, not understanding the romantic possibilities until the end.
I’m a buddie shipper and I see that Buck loves Eddie (in whatever way he does - platonic or not) but he is legitimately romantically interested in Tommy right now, it’s not just confused or misdirected feelings.
Let’s not invalidate this important arc about his bisexuality over ships.
And Oliver has also spoken about how he’s not keen to have a storyline right now about a man who has recently discovered he’s bi pining over his male friend. Because there are negative connotations to that in real life. So if there’s feelings realizations about Buddie (which, if it happens, should be explored more down the line cause that would make sense from a narrative standpoint to not rush it) then it should be from Eddie’s side first. Not Buck.
I’m genuinely concerned at this stage that the toxic buddie shippers are going to hype themselves up so much about downplaying Buck and Tommy before 7.06 that if we get romantic scenes, or even positive Tommy scenes, in that episode they’ll be pushing a negative backlash within fandom that we didn’t see in 7.04. And I’m worried about the optics of that because it would come across in a very phobic way.

No one asked but I have a take haha.
I have zero problem with buck and eddie being an item, the biggest problem I have is their stans acting the way they are now with the current storyline with tommy.
I mean, I hate to break it to the b*ddie st*ns but you can think your friends are hot and like, not want to pursue them, whether you realize you’re queer or not. The fans are undermining so much of the current storyline that it makes me sad.
Im as aroace as one can be, but also I have eyes lol. I see hot/attractive people, I of course can admit that they are hot/attractive. It doesn’t mean that I want to be with them specifically sexually or romantically.
Also, figuring out your sexuality is confusing and weird. I definitely thought I had a crush on a friend solely because they were a person I got along with and spent a lot of time with and thought that was what I was supposed to do (by the time I thought I was allo).
What I mean is that it’s not always black and white when it comes to what attraction is.
Another thing, and this is pure speculation on my part: the actors are VERY aware of b*ddie and know that it’s one of the biggest reasons people keep watching the show, so they might keep on stirring the pot a bit in the interviews because they know it can create enough buzz for the show to trend and make the network/producers/investors keep renewing it so they can keep their jobs for as long as possible.
Im not saying b*ddie fans are delusional or anything like that but I am really disappointed how many of them (or at least a loud minority) is treating the canon ship as if it’s a stepping stone for another that has yet to be fully confirmed on screen. Sure there are signs in retrospect, but like I said, you can think someone is attractive without wanting to be with them.
This whole thing of buck having always been in love with eddie irks me a bit as it falls in a trope I don’t personally like (someone sticking around because they are pining over their friend the whole time and the friendship is a stepping stone to romance). I mean, if b*ddie happens and it’s done well, I’m all for it. What I really don’t want to happen is the trope I mentioned above. If it’s meant to happen, the best way in my opinion is for the two guys to develop those feelings with time, not it being a realization that they were in love the whole time. Heck, there are dcoms that did friends to lovers quite decently in the past and it wasn’t a “it has always been youuu” situation.
In conclusion, the only thing we gotta take is what is confirmed on screen, in canon. If we are supposed to listen to anyone talking about ships and storyline is Tim Menear and the other writers. And what has been confirmed so far by Tim is that Buck was jealous of Eddie being with Tommy because he was attracted to Tommy without realizing it. In canon so far, that’s what is happening and you have to accept that. The story is about Buck coming to terms with his bisexuality and him and Tommy being in a romantic relationship.

I know they don't watch anything but the buddie scenes, but they have to remember that the previous breakups were well foreshadowed? like we knew from the 1st minute ana was on-screen in s5 that things weren't going well, we knew from eddie's first mention of herin 5x01 that he wasn't feeling it. if tim was planning on breaking bucktommy up just a few eps into the season, their only scene so far wouldn't have been a cute flirting scene where buck is clearly besotted. they would have shown him as some sort of conflicted during it.
How the fuck is it ONLY YALL didn’t see this coming…. Only YALL are mad…. No one lied to you. Oliver didn’t lie to you. Tim didn’t lie to you. The show didn’t lie to you. The ONLY person who did was Lou. Don’t you remember. Tim said it. He was an ENTRY relationship. Lou said they called him for 4 episodes. To do bucks bisexuality arc. The early renewal just slowed it down. The end result was always going to be the same. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Keep on crying🤡🤡🤡🤣🤡🤣🤡
first of all dumbass, maybe put quotations around the first part next time, i thought you were another idiot who couldn't figure out how to send copypastas properly and put your fake commiserating post and your ha-ha you lost post in the same ask.
i think the fact that the entire GA is also confused by the break-up says that it wasn't foreshadowed. and no, i'm not gonna take what was said at the very beginning of the arc when they didn't know how big the backlash from the GA was gonna be as indication of how the relationship was gonna end.
they didn't need to take the relationship into s8. they could have not brought lou back past his initial 4 eps. they could have done an off-screen break-up between seasons. i said they wouldn't because it would put oliver back on the hamster wheel which they said they didn't want, but then they went and did this and proved they're fine putting buck back on the wheel.
the GA doesn't read all those interviews. half the GA is still confused about whether the break-up is final or now because the show was that fucking unclear about it that they had to have the actors clarify in the interviews.
my only problem was giving the show too much credit with their writing, i thought it was better than this, but the GA seems to agree with me that this episode was ass, even outside of the break-up. i'm so sorry i had faith that tim knew how to properly plot out stories, i'll be sure to never put my trust in him again.
p.s that post of mine you (aren't) quoting up there? from 2 weeks ago. stop hate reading my blog babe. like, you won, what are you doing here? or have buddies made spreading hate their entire identity, and now you don't know how to actually have fun in your fandom? poor buddies all you know how to do is stalk the pages of ppl who are actually enjoying themselves, you've pavlov'd yourselves into being unable to get serotonin from your actual ship and can only get it by being a miserable cunt in ppl's inboxes. hope you fix that soon so you stop having to be that absolute loser that everybody makes fun of in the gc 🫶

First off, i loved reading your analysis on the recent episodes of 9-1-1. If i may, how would you describe 7x04 and it being from bucks pov? I think he’s an unreliable narrator. I would love to hear your thoughts as i have many lol
A x account said this “ Okay but Buck never went to play basketball when Eddie invited him, he only went after he knew Tommy was going. Like? That really happened. Why do people continue to ignore what's right in front of their faces?
But like, he didn’t go BECAUSE Tommy went. He went because Tommy AND EDDIE were going. Again, we are told 7x04 is from bucks perspective. But yet, the only time we see him “getting his attention” is the air strip scene. That scene is weird because they could have easily shown us buck messaging him and their initial greetings. But no. We are given a few seconds before Eddies name is mentioned and when he comes in the frame. No where else do we see from “bucks pov” of him trying to get Tommy’s attention. What stopped buck from reaching out again to Tommy…. That’s the plot hole of the episode I’m still lost on. He was able to reach out once, why did he stop? The gym scene? You’re telling me, it was for Tommy? Because he wanted to see Tommy play basketball? If he wanted his attention, he would have hurt Tommy and not Eddie and the conversation with Maddie would be different. Did he have attraction towards Tommy? Sure. But we the viewers are never given any indications of him trying to get Tommy’s attention. To add, in 7x05, Tommy is confused after buck says he’s been trying to get his attention. Because, again, where was this.
Most of my thoughts on 7x04 are in my multiple-part meta here. Most of the stuff you're asking about, including the basketball scenes, the gym scenes, and more are all addressed there.
I agree with the people (and Tim) who said most of the episode is in Buck's POV. I've seen people saying that you can tell it's Buck's POV because of how light and beautiful and sunkissed Eddie appears, and I agree with that. I don't agree with the people who said Eddie appears more "straight" because Buck views him as straight. I just don't really agree with certain actions being "straight" vs. "non-straight". People can look and act super stereotypically masculine and "bro-ey" and still be queer. Just look at Tommy.
Absolutely Buck is an unreliable narrator, as is Eddie. I think this episode was pretty clear-cut about that given how confused Buck was the entire episode. All you have to do is watch any other episode to know that Eddie wasn't just ignoring Buck on purpose, but that Buck was being overly sensitive about it for a reason that still isn't clear to him.
Tim and Co. have said many times that there is no black-and-white answer to what Buck was feeling in that episode. He latched onto the first answer that made sense which was first "I'm best friend jealous" then "Oh I like Tommy bisexually" because it's easier to take the path of least resistance and just believe what's in front of you instead of soul-searching or looking deeper and possibly tapping into something you're not ready to address just yet.
In my opinion, Buck was confused, and continues to be confused, because despite his attraction to Tommy being real, underneath it all, most of the feelings he was experiencing were more so about Eddie, and he's not yet at the point where he can address that head-on. The episode is confusing to us viewers because Buck was confused, so in the sense, yes, the episode was very much Buck's POV.

How do you imagine a more complex sexual awakening for Buck? Cause I also thought Buck's coming out went surprisingly smoothly. For one, I specifically missed how Buck never questioned if his strange conduct in that ep was only about Tommy and not at all about Eddie, and most importantly, no experiences of his have been addressed other than checking out a hot guy's ass
hey anon! i'm coming from a purely storytelling perspective, not pro/anti buddie/bucktommy so yall better not come for me!
i think this trajectory is very on brand for buck. a complex coming out arc is dearly reserved for eddie in my head, i always imagined buck's coming out to be pretty smooth and i think season 7 writers have done a really good job at that!
for all his acting before thinking tendencies, i think there's also a comfort zone buck has built around himself that he doesnt feel the need to step out of.
for starters, i definitely see comphet elements to buck. he stops at mere appreciation (checking out hot guys asses) because he doesnt feel the need to think too deeply about it given that he's very comfortable in his attraction to women already. he attributes these sorts of questionable moments to his strong allyship instead and prides (🏳️‍🌈?) himself in it. this would explain why he never dwells on moments of doubt because he set those criteria for himself and never revisited them because loving women was satisfying enough.
which is why i think spontaneity is the driving force for his sexual awakening rather than a surface level attraction. tommy kissing him is what allows him to see past his comfort zone and realise that he could expand his options if he wanted to. the eddie vs tommy conflict is never addressed in his head because tommy becomes instantaneously and willingly available and there's no need for him to think or look further.
speaking of, a second example of the comfort zone he has built is with eddie. in comparison to his past relationships and having to overcompensate for others' shortcomings, his relationship with eddie is perfect. he doesn't give room for any other interpretation or extrapolation of this friendship because for once he feels this mutual trust and security he never felt before with others, not even family. it's the fact that even when they do have a conflict, the writers made buck be the one to apologise for not caring enough. this further cements just how entrenched eddie is in their friendship, something buck has been guilty of doing in the past and getting hurt by repeatedly. hence buck doesnt give room for questionable moments to penetrate the platonic boundaries he's set for his and eddie's relationship and instead finds answers within the confines of friendship. he maps his confusion around eddie to guilt about lying to his best friend.
given these interpretations plus the fact that he's often the source of comedic relief, it's understandable why his coming out arc is less complex and more romcom-esque. this is especially important if they are planning a coming out arc for eddie as well, because his is going to be a trainwreck and they would want to cover different bases instead of repeating similar stories.
looking at recent directional choices though, i think there's still room to build complexity through bucktommy. especially since all of tommy's scenes since he's been established as a LI serve no other purpose than to further buck's bisexuality journey (building confidence, publicly coming out). there was no need for him to be written off the bachelor party if they wanted us to properly root for him. he wouldn't have disappointed buck for not dressing up and not being there for the search party, which are perfect opportunities to build an emotional connection between them. i'm especially intrigued by this knowing tim minear through lone star, because you can tell how much he values significant others being there for each other in the most random times (carlos literally follows tk everywhere he goes). if this direction keeps being intentionally pursued, their relationship might end with a purpose too, and perhaps this could turn buck's world upside down?
all i'm desperately hoping for is that this doesn't end in another person abandoning buck... because he's had enough. and I'VE had enough

So maybe I just feel like ranting. Tim Drake has been my favorite character for as long as I can remember, he’s the character that I’ve found myself relating to the most my entire life. That includes my bisexuality, when I was coming to terms with my own sexuality I saw myself more and more reading this character I loved as bisexual. It was something I identified with and thought it fit him. So when I saw the DC was making him bi, I got excited. Confirmation! Hurray!
At least that’s what it was like in the beginning, now I just tend to get frustrated. I want it put on record that I don’t hate Timber, I don’t hate Bernard. I hate that I feel like Tim got put with Bernard to check a box. Increasingly I feel like Tim’s relationship with Stephanie Brown was cut short because DC just want to make him date a boy to prove he was bi, and honestly? That’s just such a crushing feeling. When I’ve dated guys, that has not made me any less bisexual. When I’ve dated women THAT HAS NOT MADE ME ANY LESS BISEXUAL. It’s just a trend I feel like I’ve seen over and over again, if a character is bi, they have to be in a same sex pairing to prove it, and it just feels so unbelievably reductive to the bisexual experience. It’s treated so often like if you’re bisexual and dating someone of the opposite sex you’re not being true to yourself, or they’re not what you really want, and that is just so biphobic on so many levels it makes me want to puke. You can say what you want about the rocky road Tim and Steph’s relationship has been across their decades long history, but when they were broken up off screen it was a gut punch. It was such a blow because nothing in their recent writing indicated they were going to breakup, let alone so suddenly. For the answer to why to be shown over and over again by DC as “Tim just couldn’t be himself with her” is just such a shallow take, and terrible reason for me. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve found Bernard while cute and loving to Tim, to be a largely empty character with little substance. This lends to me feeling like Tim was put with him just to prove a point, so DC could say “See? He swings both ways!” doing so at the cost of a relationship that had been written for years at that point to be very loving and supportive.
I love this character, I loved Tim with Steph, I just wish that DC could have had Tim come out without falling back on so many harmful stereotypes with bisexual people, including the most harmful, that we will just drop our partners because they aren’t fulfilling us as bisexuals, that we’re shallow and confused, and can’t be our true selves unless we prove that we’re bi. I’m happy for representation, especially from my favorite character, but damnit I just wish it was treated with more tact and respect for what actually being bisexual is like. It’s not something we need to prove, it’s who we are, and that doesn’t mean we have to be with someone of the same sex and just happen to like the opposite sex as well. It’s not incidental. We don’t hurt the people that love us just to explore, and it’s damaging to frame it that way.

Dc x Dp Blurb #3
It's late, I'm tired and on my phone so it's weird writing here but I must share this one instantly.
So, I saw a Trans Danny AND Trans Jazz thing earlier and I lost it. The idea that they both are is so good to me, and I have so much angst for it.
Just, neither of their parents even REMEMBER that they're trans. Like Danny's their son, Jazz is their daughter....but only because they know they have one daughter one son and clearly that was correct, not because they remember they're both trans. Acceptance through negligence basically.
Also side note but totally an au where the kids at school know and are like "Hell yeah you go!" About the trans stuff. Dash will push Danny into a locker but if he hears someone deadname his nerd friend he's taking a note from the ghosts and breaking shit.
Now the crossover aspect that's been invading my brain. Danny is visiting Gotham temporarily for something and is just like not hiding that he's trans, he's got a lol pin of the flag on his bag. Class trip with the Fentons being some of the supervisors, they came along to see if Batman was a ghost, and Danny us just very tired at this point. He's king of the realms, come to a midpoint with his 'rogues' after realizing it was more a ghost thing than a hate thing for 99% of them, and finally become friends with most of his class even if Dash still liked to mess with him.
Walking through the museum they're touring with Lancer, and a class from the local high school, Danny ends up near the edge of his classmates group next to the other school group. They're not avoiding one another but also not really talking, but this one kid just goes, "nice flag pin," before showing off the bisexual and polyamorous ones they have.
It's Tim. Because he saw the flag and went :O friend time. And also no one he talked to was with the group he was in, so he'd rather talk to this stranger who probably won't treat him differently since he doesn't know him.
The two talk as they are going, some of the other Casper high students chiming in since hey if a kid is nice to their weirdest classmate they're pretty okay in the books. (50/50 if the class know Danny is Phantom but they totally know he's different from all the osha violations in his house and most of them are so worried after really paying attention after they became friends).
Randomly Jack and Maddie come out of nowhere and grab Danny talking about something to do with ghosts, much to the apparent tiredness and even slight distaste on their kid's face, which they didn't even notice. Tim is unsure what is happening but seeing the dislike on the whole class's faces and some worried looks Danny got he's now wanting to go all detective on him because hey Danny's fun to talk to! Totally not because he's very very gay-
So after they leave, he causally tries to learn more about the two and why the class seemed to hate them, even why Danny himself didn't seem to want to be anywhere near his parents. Of course he tries to be subtle.
"So you're parents seem pretty accepting of you being trans, that's good!"
Maybe not so subtle, in his defense, he hasn't slept recently. Danny tried to smile at it though but completely failed, just giving up and slouching as he shrugged.
"More like they don't even remember."
So now Tim is concerned and confused, but much to his luck, the tour is over and the Casper students are leaving. He's worried about his new friend, even if they exchanged numbers, so he goes down a rabbit hole. Not only does he find suspicious stuff about this small town that was heavily deleted from many things, but he finds that Danny has a sibling. It's evident to him they're also trans from the few pictures before and after but the sibling's name isn't anywhere to be seen so he tries to dig deeper.
He pauses before going further down though to respond to some of Danny's messages. But his sleep deprived brain decided 'let's just ask'. So he asks a bit of questions about Danny. Like what's his town like? Any other family? Are they fine with you being trans, because he'll totally beat anyone who's not, etc. Danny answers them and in turn asks about the Waynes, mainly because Danny is not entirely convinced Bruce himself isn't weird like Vlad, but he does acknowledge that he's at least not evil.
Eventually Danny offhandedly mentions Jazz is trans to, and Tim being the detective he is is like "huh..." and asks if his parents were accepting of Jazz too. It's a while before he responds but Danny just says;
"They don't remember we are trans...so no problems or anything with it..."
Tim doesn't get the chance to say anything about it as Danny asks about something about him being poly and what his dad and siblings thought. Of course he replied but his mind was also reeling from the fact that Danny's parents literally don't pay attention to their kids enough to not realize both kids are trans.
They keep in touch and Tim puts investigating on the back burner some since while kinds neglectful they seem to be decent enough parents.
He regrets that though as Danny doesn't message him for nearly a month. It worries him enough to put that investigation back to the forefront. Of course he finds osha violation city in the Fenton's house, as well as the actual paranormal activity happening. What concerns him the most is that apparently the town hero, a ghost boy, is missing...from around the same time Danny stopped messaging.
It's a week into trying to find Danny that he gets a message from his number, except it's not Danny. It's Jazz. She asks Tim if Danny had gone to him, she was trying everyone since no one knew where he was. This sparks a big ol search.
Danny meanwhile ended up with a hero (any but Clark or Bats cuz we want some rarer family dynamic, the good juice) after crash landing, most literally, right by em. The hero, I'm thinking Hal or Barry idk, is too busy trying to help this random powerful teenager who was bleeding way too too much to not have some regeneration ability.
After some drama of trying to find Danny, and Jazz, Tucker, Sam, and Tim knowing identities(Danny's included) because Tucker accidentally hacked around and found out, hero parent of Danny shows up with said boy closely in tow to a meeting after their surprise break from league work and Tim just jumps up and doesn't even remember that Danny doesn't know his identity.
Danny panics initially but quickly realizes it's Tim and finally gets back in contact with Jazz and all of his friends/classmates who had most definitely stormed a GIW lab in his absence. The league is confused and it's a whole mess before Danny trauma dumps on em and Tim as RR just admits this all started because he saw the trans pin.
My brain is rambling too much for this now, but basically lotta trauma, the league appalled and Danny getting a good family after everything is settled. His classmates so visit him and Tim, Kon, and him date because I feel like Danny would meet him, learn he's a clone (after being very gay for a moment) and just be like "heck yeah, my younger sister is a clone" which also caused more panic but like gay trio.
I'm gonna go sleep now, enjoy the angst and randomness this blurb is-
Remember these are free to take and do whatever you please with them, it's just random ideas/thoughts that I have but don't plan to do anything with for the foreseeable future!

I’m confused by the timing of it. Like if it was to move momentum forward you’d think it would have been after episode 4 or 5.
To announce a hey we’re going to be giving more focus on this relationship next season, it be after the finale.
But now it’s just…. it’s airing before the episode airs tonight so like…. They already have very little to talk about relationship wise, and removing episode 9 and anything that happens in it from being able to talk about gives them even less lol. And it’s also happening after Tommy hasn’t even been seen or mentioned once by anyone in the last two episodes?
I know we keep saying Tommy is a plot device but I wonder if Lou is “plot devicing” here, by which I mean it’s mostly going to be about bucks bi journey itself (which is what Tim and Oliver and hell sometimes Ryan oddly enough lol, keep focusing on) and since Tommy is currently part of it, Lou has to be there as well.
Ah Nonny! You speak my language well!
I was just thinking about this. The timing is off. Something is going on. What an odd moment to do promo for a couple that barely had 20 minutes of screentime. You would think they would do promo after the finale, assuming they would have had more scenes together and they would be more established.
I think there are two things that could be at play here:
It's good promo for more people to watch the penultimate episode. The bisexual Buck storyline has garnered some new viewers and since Tommy is part of his storyline (as a plot device to make him realise he is actually bisexual) he has to be there.
Something might actually happen between them that won't be so positive at all. Their relationship might take a hit or even a fall. So, they won't be established by the finale and they won't be able to do any promo for them anymore.
Personally I think it'll be a combination of both of the above. I could be wrong of course, but the way the promo of this season has been going (mostly Buddie-related) and the way Oliver refuses to promote Buck/Tommy (which is something he has done before because he doesn't want to lead the fans on) I have a pretty good feeling about this.
If I'm wrong about this? Well, there is always next season. I'm convinced that Buddie is in the works. Everything in the episodes and the way they portray Buck/Eddie and Tommy in their scenes, to the promo, to the strange social media postings (Vertigo poster), to the way Ryan talks about Eddie pressing a refresh button and the audience will get to know an unexplored side of Eddie? Yeah, I'm sorry, but I'm firmly seated on my Buddie-train. I've got a strong feeling that we're riding the Endgame Express at this point.
Sorry, not sorry. 🤷‍♀️
PS: Oh and Buddie peeps, don't let anyone tell you that you are delusional. We've been here for 6 seasons. We've seen it all. But this is different now. Buck is canonically bisexual. This is no more delusion or clown noses/clown cars situations anymore. Buck is bi and all the possibilities are open now. So yes, Buddie is definitely a viable and valid option. This is something that can happen. No more clown make-up for us!

hi merry! I just finished the newsreader and I'm not ok 😭 couple things I just wanted to ask you, do you think gerry really was the one to reach out to donna? I feel that if he did he wouldn't have come to the studios with such an expectation that he'd get any help from dale for such a betrayal. I also feel that even if he did do maybe he was just desperate enough to something so low but I don't wasn't to view him that way either 😣 my other thing is, do you think that helen was physically cheating on dale (just her going to Charlie is enough to count as infidelity but I digress). I have a complicated relationship with helen and it just wrongs me the wrong way that she'd be so bothered by kissing Tim but her actions are fine
helloooooo!!!! I'm so happy you watched The Newsreader, my beloved 😁
okay so many thoughts here. I'll just go in order:
I do think Gerry reached out to Donna but I think it was in a very low moment. I feel like he did it and probably immediately regretted it and can't take it back. If the newsreader is about anything, its a show about people having to constantly make career defining decisions even when they're at their lowest, and then having to live with the consequences of whatever decision they make. I think Gerry was angry and frightened and saw Dale as somewhat hypocritical in that moment and so he lashed out. I don't think what Dale did by throwing Gerry under the bus us was good either, but for gay and bi men, at that time especially, institutionalised homophobia made it nearly impossible for solidarity to be a thing in the workplace without jeopardising your life. The homophobia around them just forces dale and Gerry to make horrific decisions that hurt each other and it's so fucking sad!!!
Ah Helen. Helen is one of the most beautifully complicated characters in the world I adore her even in the moments where she drives me nuts. But no I don't think she was physically cheating on Dale when she was having those late night one on one chats with Charlie. I don't think she did anything with him until after she and Dale broke things off. Some people call what she was doing "emotional cheating" I guess. But I personally think Helen is a very forward person and understands that her position at news at six is so precarious because of the ableism and sexism she's experienced and Charlie was an opportunity for someone to get to know her without knowing her history. and I can totally understand why for Helen especially with her feeling insecure about dale why that's so appealing to have a man in power get to know her for who she is on her terms. I didn't like her thing with Charlie either but I understand it and that's the best thing about Helen and all the chars in this show is that even when you hate what they're doing you understand why they're doing it because the writing is so good.
Addressing her reaction to dale and Tim in a different point because I feel like it's not really about cheating even if it seems that way. Put it this way, I think if Tim was a woman and Dale told Helen that he kissed this woman in the spur of the moment but nothing really happened, Helen would probably be surprised maybe annoyed but she wouldn't think much of it for very long because Dale is not a cheater. Helen's reaction is not about the kiss itself. she's not worried about infidelity (sure maybe a bit), she's pressed because of homophobia. She's just spent months investigating AIDS and now her boyfriend who she loves is telling her that he likes men and it's the 1980s. For someone in her position at that time, even someone as intelligent and caring as she is, that would be terrifying and confusing to hear. Add to that, that Dale is trying to communicate to her that he's bisexual without having the language for that, and that he still wants to be with her, it's a lot for someone to process. I think her reaction is very human. But I don't really think it's about the "cheating" (I personally wouldn't consider dale and Tim's kiss cheating but that's just me), I think her reaction rooted in fear and homophobia and confusion, but what I love about that confession scene with Dale is how much love is in that room. She loves him so much she doesn't want to lose him and he loves her so much he doesn't want to hurt her. Like. Is her reaction a perfect reaction? No. But it's a very real one to me and I don't think when she reacted she was thinking about cheating!
Anyways, thank you for asking me about The Newsreader I'll go to sleep v happy now. Have a lovely weekend 🥰

Pageboy - Let's Do This Thing
In keeping with my brand of, well, Ellen-posting, since my name is Ellie, I thought I'd continue Ellen-posting by reading a book by someone who used to be named Ellen and doing a review of said book for radblr. I'm going to break it up into chunks so you're not faced with giant posts of me rambling or EP rambling.
I would like to say that I feel like there are very few 30-somethings who should be writing memoirs. I've had a pretty exciting thirty-ish years on the planet and I don't think I'm qualified to write a memoir - not because it wouldn't be full of interesting, beautiful, life-changing, sometimes horrible things but because I'm only thirty-ish. I prefer memoirs by people who've lived a bit longer - but again, this is only my preference. I don't read a lot of memoirs as a whole, I guess.
Anyway.
Ellie's Read and Review of Pageboy (Part One)
Author's Note
EP is "grateful and terrified" because trans people "face increasing physical violence" and "our humanity is regularly 'debated' in the media" (citations not given)
the book would not have been written without the "health care" she received, which seems weird because what she describes in the first paragraph about not being able to write seems like ADHD and instead of taking Adderall and being seen by a therapist she took testosterone and had her breasts surgically removed
quotes Leslie Feinberg who, among other things, was a very serious pronoun enthusiast (as evident by Feinberg's Wikipedia page, no I'm not being sarcastic here, just go read it and tell me I'm not wrong)
I want to be a jackass about the last paragraph of the author's note but even I don't have it in me, because it makes sense and is kind.
Tumblr media
Chapter One
EP meets someone named Paula and falls in love with her and they do mushrooms together
She thinks about Paula on her trip through Europe
They go to a gay bar
This line hit far harder than it had any right to:
Tumblr media
She kisses Paula and it's marvelous
Chapter Two
The Village Voice writes a shitty article about EP calling her a "dyke" after Juno comes out
which is a name she was called many times growing up in Canada
EP played soccer and once went to a tournament in a town I would visit some twenty-odd years later for very different reasons
this is important because she rooms with a girl she has a crush on
she tries to come out to this girl as bisexual
the girl says "no you're not" and then her friends make fun of EP
I learn that Tim Horton's has bagels, which confuses me but is in fact true
EP's grandmother asks her father what they're going to do if it turns out EP is gay
the lines in this chapter that punched me in the chest:
Tumblr media
because fuck yeah I was a fucked up kid who didn't plan to live much beyond age 18, EP, I see you
fame is not what EP thought it might be; she doesn't want to wear a dress to things but somehow they tell her she has to and she isn't allowed to say no (which I get, and is not great, but eventually you need to be able to say no and do what you want)
another magazine in Canada asks if she's gay
Paula from Chapter One is seen with her and it's speculated they're in a relationship; Paula's not out to her family and so things are all very sad and EP feels like she will never be free to be who she is
At this point I am just sad. I came out later in my life (22), and was diagnosed with gender dysphoria much later (33), but at age 12 after a lifetime of wearing dresses and having my hair the way my mother wanted it, I stopped letting that happen. I started to wear what I want. I grew out my hair. I learned about makeup and shaving and for a little bit bought into it and then said "fuck no," which I continue to do to this day because it's bullshit.
Who in EP's life thought it wasn't okay for her to wear pants, and why didn't she or someone else stop them? I've obviously never been a famous actor but as an actor aren't you the person in charge of what happens to your image? Why wasn't her publicist or her agent on her side?
I had a lot of good people in my life who made me believe in a future for myself. Sometimes they had to carry me physically through what was happening to make sure I made it to that future, and I'm here today because those people didn't give up on me. Where were those people in EP's life?
There are things about the EP situation that make me bow in over my ribcage. It's just sad, and seeing paths others take that look like they make sense to everyone but which seem to say something entirely different when looked at upside down... which is a rambling way of saying that it's almost 4 am and someone should have told EP she could have been a happy lesbian who wears pants without having her breasts surgically removed and taking cross-sex hormones.
Anyway, the laundry's done, more later.

So. Fucking tma/re zero au
• julius getting fucking isekaied in to tma world
• it's julius who knows subaru, specifically even it's julius from the end of arc seven
• seeing all this new world is overwhelming and kinda fucked up for him he's like having a several panic attacks at first
• he also fucking speaking japanese. and he's. In London.
• so yeah by some miracle (👀👀) he stumbles by magnus institute
• still confused as fuck he meets gertrude
• she already lost michael. And other various assistants too. but there boy in strange clothes, who speaks japanese, and tell her about another world and who's absolutely lost and trying not to show that he's scared
• so yeah she's trying to help him a little. And makes him her new assistant
• julius still confused but trying his best. He's learning english as fast as he can, learning about history and about this world in general (he's excited and kinda. terrified.)
• he's trying to find something about subarus family in internet (yes he learned how to use computers and phone. even if he type with one finger)
• magnus institute stuff likes him Very much. after someone heard that he liked sweets he's doesn't know peace
• honestly. I have no fucking idea how to write this but eventually julius gonna be sacrificed to somehow stop The Lonely ritual by gertrude
So. That's it about julius. For now.
now about subaru-
• kinda arc from arc seven but he's. normal and not a child.
• so he gets isekaied too. Yes near magnus institute too, but julius is already avatar of lonely (or something like that) and gertrude is dead so here jon.
• jon is trying not to show that's he freaking out because suddenly he understands japanese So Hard
• but. "It's not important, at least not now" because sasha and tim pressing him to help subaru (yes subaru trying to explain all that stuff about being isekaied, obviously not telling about return by death ability. They don't believe him, but still trying to help)
• subaru not. Having a great time. It seems that he returned to "his" world and he can return to his family and be happy right? Well. Not to say about immediately missing his new family and friends-
he strangely feels that something is wrong, that it's not his world.
• but they still trying to find subarus family on internet, and again, strangely they can't.
• and then leitner incident happens. I have no idea how to write that again but Somehow subaru firstly dies to leitner book, and his as ability works in this world too, and he somehow saves jon??? (Again I have no idea how but i want to write something like this-)
• after that jon is so much trusting and thankful but still. They annoyed at each other for various reasons and Shenanigans is interesting at least
• tim Absolutely adopts subaru as his younger brother. Also subaru watching tim be so openly bisexual is giving him fucking existential crisis
• sasha intensely digging internet trying to find something about subarus family, but also praying so much information from him (they all still think that he's absolutely delusional)
• martin kinda reminds subaru otto, so he's trying to tease him in friendly way, but he's also so fucking obvious to martin's crush on jon.
So For Now that all, I'm just going for Vibes and funny interactions between my two favorite fandoms, but again potential for entitys abilities/authoritys is Here
