Introducing F-21: The Latest 4th Generation Fighter Plane from Lockheed Martin
Lockheed Martin F-21
Taking its game forward, Lockheed Martin has proposed an improved version of the popular F-16 at Aero India 2019 called the F-21 and claims it will be the most advanced, 4th generation Fighter Aircraft in the world.
Lockheed Martin had earlier offered its F-16 has claimed that the F-21 will be specifically configured for the Indian Air Force and will strengthen India’s path to an advanced airpower future.
An option for new production, the F-21 will have a slew of the latest state of the art technological advancements and improvements that include a new radar system, stealth detection capabilities, and electronics design that add a lot of value to the already iconic aircraft.
F-21 will be based on a proven platform, with a new branding

TATA-Lockheed Martin F-21
“The F-21 is different, inside and out,” said Vivek Lall, vice president of Strategy and Business Development for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
Lockheed Martin has long said it plans to shift its F-16 production lines to India in cooperation with Tata. It has gone so far as to suggest it could establish an F-16 production line in the country regardless of whether it wins the MRCA deal or not.
For years, Lockheed Martin has been lobbying India for MMRCA contract in excess of 100 fighter jets. India traditionally bought its defence technology from and Russia, but recently, it has been buying American military technology, including the P-8 Poseidon and AH-64 Apache attack helicopter.
Now that there is a difficult competition between Lockheed Martin’s F-16, Boeing’s F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, the Swedish Gripen, French Rafale, European Eurofighter Typhoon, and Russian MiG-35. Lockheed Martin had to increase the stakes.
F-21 will be nimble, carry decent ordnance, and have lower costs to maintain

Weapon Systems of Lockheed Martin F-21
The F-21 will incorporate an upgraded mission computer, a state of the art avionics and includes multi-function displays. With a Central, Pedestal Display will help improve the crew’s situational awareness through Real-Time processing of the flight data.
In addition, the F-21 will also come with an upgradable display generator, a link-16 data link, HF/UHH/VHF multiple frequency radio communication support as well as IFF (identification friend or foe) enhancements.
The three original computers will be replaced with a single modular mission computer which provides far higher computing power to the avionics and weapons systems in addition to providing accurate targeting, air to air strike performances and information capabilities.
According to Lockheed Martin, the F-21 will be capable of providing affordable and scalable advanced combat capabilities through its Active Electronically Scanned Array radar. The Central Pedestal Display also provides a high-resolution display with colour maps, zoom functionality and Night vision systems, thereby helping to keep the aircraft in an enhanced state of Battle Awareness.
The Aircraft will also be capable of integration with the FLIR laser system and navigation as well as reconnaissance pods. The F-21 is also upgraded with state of the art threat warning systems, jammers, electronic countermeasure equipment pods and chaff and infrared flare dispensers to take care of complex and varied battlefield situations.
What will be the future of F-21?
As of now, the F-21 is just a concept. The F-21 will be tailor-made to meet the requirements of the Indian Airforce and will be a 4.5+ generation fighter if the company wins the estimated $18-billion order for the 115 planes.
Officially known as the “Fighting Falcon” commonly known as the Viper by pilots and crew, The F-16 is one of the most renowned and battle-tested supersonic fighter aircraft in the world. This single engine, multirole aircraft developed by Lockheed Martin (formerly General Dynamics), was developed originally for the United States Air Force and is now regarded as the most successful all-weather multirole fighter aircraft.
Entering into production almost four decades back in 1976, more than 4500 F-16 aircraft have been built and although no more bought by the United States Air Force, improved versions are being built for various export customers.

Brazil and Sweden to enhance defense deal
Tumblr media
Sweden and Brazil will enhance their military ties. Stockholm said it had selected the Brazilian-made Embraer C-390 Millennium as its next military cargo plane, while Brazil is keen to buy more fighter jets from Sweden.
The two governments have signed a letter of intent to “participate in joint activities for scientific and technological cooperation” and “seek joint opportunities for commercialization of defense products.”
In 2014, Brazil signed a USD 5.4 billion deal to buy Gripen fighter jets, opting for the Swedish aircraft over French Rafales (from Dassault) and American F-18 Hornets (from Boeing). The government cited the Swedish offer as the best balance of three key factors Brazil prioritized: acquisition and maintenance costs, technology transfer, and performance.

In the recent past, reputed foreign publications reported three explosive news stories but none of them made it to the pages of Indian newspapers. A follow-up investigation, or questions for the government, is unimaginable. On 12 December, Bloomberg reported that Taiwan's Chang family, which was charged by the Indian government in 2014 of being used by billionaire Gautam Adani's empire to siphon money overseas, has now resurfaced under a new name and is again working with the conglomerate. Two days later, the French newspaper MediaPart reported that the Modi government is refusing to cooperate with French judges who have requested India's assistance in their ongoing investigation into alleged corruption in the sale of 36 Dassault-built Rafale fighter jets to India in 2016 for €7.8 billion. This has been highlighted in a diplomatic note written in July by the French ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain. Only last month, The Caravan published an in-depth investigation into kickbacks received in 15 major arms deals which, too, saw no coverage by the Indian media. On 10 December, the Washington Post reported on an organisation set up and run by a serving intelligence officer to research and discredit foreign critics of the Modi government. This blurs the line traditionally observed by the country's security establishment between operations that serve India and those that advance the ruling political party's aims.

Fire Emblem Engage Xenologue
Nel and Nil/Rafal's Outfits
Nel's outfit is designed to compliment her brother's while still showing her individuality. She is one part of a whole but also her own personality. Both siblings are garnished with gold detailing and adorn good headdresses. Gold is an expensive material to use and tends to be reserved for important members of the clergy, royalty, nobles and gods. The gold headdresses, the gold adornments and high cape symbolise their royal lineage and role as Fell Dragon deities.
Nel uses silver, black and gold metals for her armour. Her sabatons, greaves and poleyn are designed to protect the foot, lower legs and knees. They rest just over her knees and end in a tapered foot down to a point. In contrast Rafal's resemble a traditional black boot and appear to be made of leather rather than metal. The difference in material could be to symbolise the difference in strength. When Rafal is preparing to be Nil, he is supposedly weaker. A weaker unit would require lighter footwear for efficient movement. Nel was stronger than her true twin Nil and could wear weightier footwear. In addition to being a front line fighter who would need greater protection whereas Nil would be positioned further back. Due to the cumbersome nature of sabatons, they were traditionally used by cavalry not foot soldiers.
Rafal has a version of the metal crinoline skirt armour, above his fabric knee length breeches, worn by Lissa from Fire Emblem,Awakening and the war cleric class in Fire Emblem Three Houses. His armour protects his upper legs, hips and lower waist and lower back from injury while allowing free movement at the front. It features a rhombus design with cut out sections to match with the rest of his outfit and lessen the weight. In contrast Nel has a tunic skirt covering her upper legs and a belt styled fault to protect her hips and groin area. Once again Nel's armour has a sturdier construction even if there is less of it.
Nil/Rafal has no upper torso or arm protection in the form of metal armour. He has leather vambraces to protect his arms. Once again he has the lighter option to symbolise that Nil is weaker than Nel. In contrast Nel has metal vambraces in silver coloured metal.
The majority of Nel's armour is silver whilst Nil/Rafal‘s is black. This could be to represent two contrasting parts of a whole. Silver could represent light and black could represent darkness. Their hair colours follow a similar pattern except it is Nel who has black hair and Nil/Rafal's is silver. This could symbolise that everyone has light and dark inside them to create the perfect symmetry and balance. Nel and Nil/Rafal represent two contrasting but complementary opposites but both share some attributes of the other. This could be another application of as above, so below.
Blue v pink
Traditionally the colour to represent the male sex is blue and the colour to represent the female sex is pink. Nel is the twin who has blue colouring in her clothing while Nil/Rafal is the twin with pink colouring in their clothing. This could symbolise that everyone has elements of what are associated as masculine traits and what are associated as feminine traits.
Rhombus
The rhombus design is used in Nel's and Nil/ Rafal's attire and is an important symbol for their relationship. The rhombus symbolises perfection, symmetry and balance.  Nel and Rafal; together they create “two parts of a whole”, they create the perfect symmetry and balance, apart they are incomplete. There is movement and energy associated with the rhombus because it seems to turn. Nel and Rafal are two people who do not keep still and wait, they are active in defining their destinies. Nel actively summons aid and kills the Corrupted royalty of each kingdom. Rafal actively kills and seeks power.
In sacred geometry, the rhombus is associated with cycles, vortexes and the intersection between the earthly and divine. The cycle of rebirth is relevant to the Xenologue's story. The Divine Dragon Alear of the Xenologue dies and another one is ‘born’ into the universe from a different Elyso. The royalty of the Xenologue dies and are reborn as the Corrupted. Vortexes are relevant to the Xenologue as well. Rafal is forced into a situation without being able to prevent it in regards to his pursuit of power and ultimately Nel's death. Wind can form a vortex when it spins fast enough that it pulls everything towards it. Wind and its destructive force are themes of the Xenologue. Rafal's name is ‘gust’ in French, then there are the Four Winds, who have pulled each other together to form a family. There is also the portal vortex that is used to travel between the two different Elyso. Nel and Nil/Rafal in their role as powerful dragons air between the earthly and the divine. They have the divine role of protectors and guides while having earthly desires and emotions.
Rafal's Eye
Rafal has the image of an eye with a red jewel centre. There are different beliefs regarding the symbolism of the red eye. In Judaism there is belief that the evil eye can cause harm with just one look. Rafal definitely wreaks havoc in the Xenologue so it could be a symbol of his evil intentions. Another belief is that the symbol of an eye could represent the third eye. In Hinduism it is believed that the God Shiva protected himself from arrows of lust fired by the his of lust and love Kama by opening his third Eye and burning him to ashes. This story carries the message that to find enlightenment and clarity, it is important to open the third eye. The third Eye has similar significance in Buddhism. In Japanese media it is common to use an eye to represent evil because of the belief in sanpaku eyes and to reference China. It could be argued that Rafal opened his third eye and attempted to turn the world to ashes. His sister tried to tempt him into a sibling bond but he opened his third eye and tried to destroy her. The symbol of an eye could also represent protection, as in the protection of a god or important religious figure watching over humanity such as the Eye of Fatima, Eye of Horus and the Eye of Providence.
Two Parts of a Whole - pendant
Nel and Nil/Rafal wear pendants which match and can connect together to form a rhombus. This symbolises their sibling bond, their togetherness and that one cannot live without the other.

WDS ended, but without new fighter tender being awarded
The World Defense Show (WDS), which took place in Riyadh from February 4th to 8th, 2024, concluded with significant attention and participation, yet not entirely as anticipated.
Despite high expectations, notably from industry insiders and observers, the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) left the event without signing any contracts related to the much-anticipated fighter jet tender for 54 aircraft.
This tender, initiated back in October 2023, garnered attention from major aircraft manufacturers, with only three contenders being invited to bid: BAE Systems for the Typhoon, Dassault Aviation for the Rafale, and Boeing for the F-15EX.
Speculation ran rampant on the eve of the WDS, particularly with the expected attendance of French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. political affairs news updates The presence of Macron hinted at a potential win for Dassault Aviation, while Sunak's attendance suggested a favorable outcome for BAE Systems. However, neither leader made an appearance, signaling uncertainty regarding the tender's outcome for the Rafale and Typhoon.
Amidst the speculation, Boeing attempted to assert itself, with company executives at the WDS implying imminent Saudi interest in the F-15EX. However, no concrete developments transpired on this front either.
As we look ahead, the lingering question revolves around the timing of the tender's award. Regrettably, definitive answers remain elusive, as the intricate negotiations on three fronts—Typhoon, Rafale, and F-15EX—are poised to be complex and protracted. latest developments middle east Numerous factors, including technical requirements, costs and participation in future jet programs, are expected to influence the sale, underscoring the uncertain and potentially prolonged nature of the process.

The International Coalition continues to create preconditions for the aggravation of the situation in Syria
Tumblr media
Aviation of the International Anti-Terrorist Coalition continues to create potentially dangerous situations in the Syrian airspace, carrying out flights in violation of deconfliction protocols. So, over the past day, according to official data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, 14 cases of violations were recorded related to flights of American unmanned aerial vehicles that were not coordinated with the Russian side. In addition, Coalition aircraft violated agreements 17 times in the Al-Tanf zone: a pair of F-35 fighters, three pairs of F-16s, two Typhone pairs, a Rafale pair and, in addition, three flights of MQ-UAVs were recorded here. 1C. By such actions, the International Coalition continues to create dangerous prerequisites for aviation incidents and accidents, and also aggravates the situation in the Syrian sky and provokes the Russian military to take retaliatory actions, which could cause a new round of conflict.

South Korea will upgrade the long-range mission capabilities of the F-15K fighter
The project, scheduled from 2024 to 2034, has a total budget of approximately US$ 2.89 billion.
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 03/23/2024 - 15:43in Military
The South Korean Air Force is launching the "F-15K performance improvement project" to improve radar systems and increase the long-range mission capabilities of its F-15K fighters.
The Defense Security Committee recently approved an acquisition plan to advance the project through foreign purchases, specifically the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said in a statement on Friday.
The updates are expected to allow the F-15K to identify and attack targets, ensuring stable operational conditions, crucial for extended missions.
Tumblr media
The project, scheduled from 2024 to 2034, has a total budget of approximately US$ 2.89 billion.
Boeing unveiled plans in December 2023 to comprehensively upgrade South Korea's F-15K fleet. The improvement initiative targets three main areas: the installation of the advanced AN/APG-82 radar, reinforcing the cabin display capabilities and integrating the electronic warfare suite 'Eagle Passive/Active Warning and Survivability System' (EPAWS).
The decision to invest heavily in the F-15 fleet is aligned with the strategic objectives of South Korea, especially given the relatively young age of the jets, with an average of just over 14 years. Originally acquired under the FX program in the mid-1990s, the first batch of 61 F-15K entered service at the end of 2005 and continues to play a crucial role in the combat capabilities of the Republic of Korea Air Force RoKAF).

The F-15K variant is suitable for long-range attack missions, including against reinforced North Korean targets.

INS Vikramaditya the First Indian Aircraft Carrier to Get Operational by the End of January 2023
Tumblr media
INS Vikramaditya, India’s first aircraft carrier is going to join the Karwar Naval base by the end of January 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to address in March the Combined Commanders Conference, where the hulk of battleship will be the center of attention. Sea trials will begin soon along with that for INS Vikrant, its successor leaving an impact in the Indo-Pacific waters. INS Vikramaditya is weaponized with Russian MiG-29K fighters onboard.
As for INS Vikrant, a landing of maritime LCA and test case scenario is also being considered this year. With US F-18 and French Rafale-M, a decision to bring forth 8 trainers and 26 maritime strike fighters for INS Vikrant will also take place. The Indian Navi submitted to the Defence Ministry the trial reports for the two operational aircraft carriers. The Modi government will assess the performance of the battleships and then finalize its call.
Both the carriers will remain on the western coast of India until the huge war machines find a place on a jetty at the eastern seaboard of Vishakhapatnam. But the aircraft carriers may be accommodated on a jetty at Kattupalli Port in north Chennai as the Indian Navy is planning to lease it with another jetty at Campbell Bay of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant will empower Indian national security.
Plans are in motion as the strike forces will go well beyond the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal to India-Pacific and even further. The Indian Ocean could be patrolled by three aircraft carriers of Chinese Navi by 2025, the two war machines will play in defense and deepen cooperation with PLA Navy and other major naval giants in the region.
The Indian Ocean is already being mapped by the PLA strategic surveillance vessels including the five ingress straits and 90-degree ridge to South China for maritime operations in the future. India has also been offered by Beijing naval cooperation for the littoral states surrounding the Indian Ocean. They have a proposal to gift the country off-shore patrol vessels the same that was offered to Seychelles. INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant will help India to secure the eastern seaboard from Africa to the Australian west coast.

Dassault Rafale
The Dassault Rafale (French pronunciation: [ʁafal], literally meaning "gust of wind",[11] and "burst of fire" in a more military sense)[12] is a French twin-engine, canard delta wing, multirole fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. Equipped with a wide range of weapons, the Rafale is intended to perform air supremacy, interdiction, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, in-depth strike, anti-ship strike and nuclear deterrence missions. The Rafale is referred to as an "omnirole" aircraft by Dassault.
In the late 1970s, the French Air Force and French Navy were seeking to replace and consolidate their current fleets of aircraft. In order to reduce development costs and boost prospective sales, France entered into an arrangement with UK, Germany, Italy and Spain to produce an agile multi-purpose fighter, the Eurofighter Typhoon. Subsequent disagreements over workshare and differing requirements led to France's pursuit of its own development programme. Dassault built a technology demonstrator which first flew in July 1986 as part of an eight-year flight-test programme, paving the way for the go-ahead of the project. The Rafale is distinct from other European fighters of its era in that it is almost entirely built by one country, involving most of France's major defence contractors, such as Dassault, Thales and Safran.
Many of the aircraft's avionics and features, such as direct voice input, the RBE2 AA active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar and the optronique secteur frontal infra-red search and track (IRST) sensor, were domestically developed and produced for the Rafale programme. Originally scheduled to enter service in 1996, the Rafale suffered significant delays due to post-Cold War budget cuts and changes in priorities. The aircraft is available in three main variants: Rafale C single-seat land-based version, Rafale B twin-seat land-based version, and Rafale M single-seat carrier-based version.
Introduced in 2001, the Rafale is being produced for both the French Air Force and for carrier-based operations in the French Navy. The Rafale has been marketed for export to several countries, and was selected for purchase by the Indian Air Force, the Egyptian Air Force, and the Qatar Air Force. The Rafale has been used in combat over Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Iraq and Syria.
