Saving What's Left — Chapter Four

Marinette flinched at the sound of destruction, rearing her out of her trance. She looked to where the sound came from and could see a part of the Akuma. She lept to her feet and starting running back.

Before reaching the main battlefield she quickly ducked in an alleyway and transformed with the ladybug miraculous.

"WHERE IS SHE?!" The Akuma screamed.

Just as the Ladybug heroine landed on a nearby rooftop near the Akuma, she heard lithe footsteps behind her. She didn't dare to look back but kept aware of the person behind her, and is preparing her body to battle in any case.

But before she can throw her yo-yo to trap whoever is behind, the person passed her like a shadow, breezing right past her. Her eyes followed their footsteps only to see a cloaked figure easily jumping from one building to another towards the Akuma.

After one swift move around the Akuma, it appeared in front of her. As she look at the figure, she couldn't see a way to know a part of their identity. A black hooded cloak covers their whole body from head to toe and a black faceless mask in their face.

The figure was extending their hand towards her and saw the Akumatized objectb in their hands.

She cautiously reached it, the moment her fingers grasped the object, the person moved once again but this time disappearing from her sight.

Looking down at the object, she couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness in her heart. She did her job of de-akumatizing the object, and releasing her cure to the sky and have the ladybugs fix and heal the destruction that occured.

Marinette looked at the object once again and back to the de-akumatized villain, before leaving the object on the ground near the victim and disappeared from the crowd.

Going back a few moments during the fight with the Akuma, Adrien Agreste was busy turning his school bag upside down to see if he had placed the ring of destruction inside it. Much to his dismay, it wasn't there. He was growing anxious as he continuously heard the raging Akuma outside of the school and could not find the miraculous.

"Where is it?!" He growled inside the empty classroom.

Thousands of scenarios have been running around his mind; most of them are about his freedom and his lady.

Being the hero, Chat Noir is a way for him to escape the forced reality given to him by his father. He wanted to please his father and have him be proud of me, that's why he accepts to be a model despite his awkward personality in dealing with a mob of fans.

Alongside the fame of being a popular model, is the social clingers. Those who value reputation and wealth above all else.

Suddenly he felt his surroundings stop shaking and when he looked outside the window, he saw a cloaked person infront of his bewildered lady.

'Who is that person?!' He thought angrily.

He then saw Ladybug do her thing and clean up the mess left by the Akuma. He deemed it safe enough to go out and saw his classmates around the 'Akuma of the day'. Juleka Couffaine.

He stepped closer to them in order to hear the conversation.

"Juleka, what happened? Why were you suddenly akumatized?" Rose gently asked her.

While the others were silent and waited for her answer.

"We, I, messed up. She was right. Everything was a lie…" Juleka mumbled.

Her response was silent enough but loud enough for them to hear.

Adrien suddenly felt a bubbling pit of anxiousness inside his stomach for whatever reason. The moment he heard the young Couffaine's answer, he knew it will not end well.

Juleka looked up and her gaze immediately landed on Alya's pair of eyes before continuing.

"Marinette was right, Alya. Everything about your new 'best friend' is a lie. A big fat lie. And you are not a journalist, you're nothing but a paparazzi." She said coldly.

Adrien heard a lot of gasps around him and saw the amount of disbelief in Alya's eyes.

'Oh, boy.' He thought.

Unaware of their surroundings, the cloaked person returned to the scene and observe the class from a distance. Their intentions were unclear to the mass, but they have their goals. And no one will be stopping them from reaching it.

Their gaze was as hard as steel.

If a person looks in their eyes at the moment, they will feel fear and terror. As if they are facing death himself.

Looking to the side, the person saw another point of their goal. They had seen two points of the goal as of now, the bug and the guy. There is only one left.

When they arrived in Paris, France, they were shocked at the amount of power that was covering the whole city. And facing the bug face-to-face, was a different experience.

They looked back at the group of students that are now in a current staring match.

They sighed deeply before turning around and leaving.

For them, no amount of ancient power will get in the way of their goal. Not even the power of the miraculous.

Beyond the world of reality. There are three beings that were watching the world move as if the three watchers are security guards and were only watching a feed from different cameras.

But it was far from it.

Their slightest interference can change everything. Now that a new variable had caught their attention as it tries to get closer to their points.

"Are we sure about this? Involving her means taking everything from her. Even the smallest item will be taken."

"Yes. We have no choice. Our decision does not matter. If it is for the better of the world, then we should not have any objections or doubts."

They looked back to the person they were talking about. And at that moment they knew, they could only do so much, and thus everything left will be upon her.

ive been replaying kh1 (going thru the whole series on steam since i never got the chance to play all the games) and i was struck by something a bit odd. i have been dyinggg to talk about it

it's about kairi and her past.

i don't think she's a replica or construct necessarily

but in kh2 there's a parallel drawn between her and sally in halloween town; and the same i think could be true in kh1.

sally is a Frankenstein monster/doll made by the doctor. the entire plot of Halloween town centers around the need for the dr to make a "heart" which requires memories from Sally (the scene of her picking the forget me nots looks a lot like kairi holding a flower for aqua too)

sora takes interest in the project to restore a heart to the heartless too because of his desire to restore Kairi's heart.

i havent really come up with a coherent thought about what this means.

but given that we know kairi was experimented on in a way that involved her heart, it just seems suspicious that this parallel was made twice to her and a doll that was stitched together and animated by a mad scientist.

shes also compared to chirithy in kh3, which from my understanding were created by MoM for keyblade weilders; and to Pooh, who is a toy/story book character that came to life

given too that Kairi already has a weird thing going on with her heart, it just seems possible that theres something..more to it that i have yet to piece together. and its driving me crazy

NO, WAIT… ANON YOU’RE COOKING. Idk what it all means either, but those parallels are so good and so true. Cause there definitely is something artificial about Kairi’s heart, even if just partially. It was experimented on, like you said, and it looks completely different than the organic hearts we see, and I suspect that’s why we’ve never seen Kairi’s heart station. Because it’s (at least partially) artificial. It would look totally different than all the other heart stations and would probably give away what’s going on.

my personal pipe dream is that one monday the egg statistics drop and flippa (and maybe tilin) are just there. at the end. with one heart, and one gray checkmark.

what i imagine is the server flips their shit. alive!!! alive!!! but they log in and they don't see the eggs. instead they get a message. i do not care who it's from or how it's delivered. they're told the eggs are being held captive somewhere, but they're alive. all that's left is to find them, before sunday at midnight pst. bc if their tasks aren't done, they die (one checkmark, one quest set. once rescued they become triple check like the other eggs)

slimeriana come CRASHING back into the server, they don't know jack shit, ESPECIALLY mariana who doesn't recognize 90% of the island anymore but holy fuck, flippa is alive somewhere and they have to find her. and maybe mariana's still in the old server days mindset of raising his kid alone but slime's slowly been indoctrinated into "it takes a village" and honestly the absolute second mariana logs on, someone's gonna be in chat already like HEY MARIANA CAN I TALK TO YOU? be it baghera or cellbit or forever or bad or I DON'T KNOW, COULD GENUINELY BE ANYONE LMAO but like mystery and eggs in danger is chumming the water for this server

which is great bc A) mariana has a concrete goal for logging into the server (finding his daughter) and B) he would be interacting with the rest of the server along the way, because he's not going to be doing this alone (he wouldn't even be allowed lmfao the rest of the server would be at his doorstep asking to help him in like 15 seconds flat) which means C) he might get reasons to log in extending outside flippa and slime. bingooooo

i call this a pipe dream bc i can poke so many holes in this even rn (does cc!mariana want flippa back, like fr? i'm not up to date) but can you IMAGINE. LIKE DAMN. i'm putting this idea into the public domain fr go nuts with it.

The solar flare meant Mechi was doing boring stuff like mining, so every time the cooldown for The Monolith or Ms Clarabelle (our sightstealer) was up, he sprinted to do that instead. I don't think he likes manual labour lmao

Some wild people came onto the map, which Mechi was not thrilled about because one of them was a taukai xenotype (cancer people, I think), and he thought they were hella ugly. A bit rude, but Mechi hates everybody anyway, so it's understandable.

The grass is quite literally greener on this side of the fence, boomalope (the boomalope is now named Butter, and he is a very good boomalope)

More silver is always nice, and foggy rain isn't so bad.

We did not offer help to either of The Accurates.

gravity falls s3 this, movie that, fuck it bro I want a PREQUEL about the original mystery twins. imagine like, an extended, more detailed version of A Tale of Two Stans....

this isnt as long as before but i just cannot stop thinking about this, why i dislike story and lore boils down to these main point

--the ending feels unsatisfying as hell even if i ignore everything i dont like about how the game treated zelda and ganondorf, the ending itself just feels, despite being presented as super epic an touching, incredibly empty to me and part of it is that it feels like an unearned return to status quo of course i didnt think zelda would stay a dragon and i actually wanted to help her, which is why i kept trying to hunt down impa since she said shes gonna search for a way for us to help zelda, bc i wanted to!! i was eager to help her!

i fully hoped and kinda expected that thered either be some kind of dragon dungeon (think, the water dragon from okami) tho that would be difficult since you can get items from her so i ended up thinking before going into the end thered be a mission with impa (or at least given to you from her) where she found answers in ancient scripts (that she told you she would look through) and that you need to find a special lil thing that will help zelda undragonfy, like some sort of ultra secret forbidden enigma stone able to reverse dragon transformations kinda deal (golden opportunity to make you go and talk to the yiga bc they might know or even own some ancient texts) that youd keep in your inventory until the very end and after you kill dragondorf (pretty mortal for becoming an immortal dragon huh) you take it out and use it, undragonfying zelda and ending in a similar epic falling and paralel to the beginning way

... and instead impa stays in the house and only has a few repeating dialog boxes and does nothing and you cant do anything bc in the end you just get randomly teleported (and stripped of your clothing AGAIN) into some weird ethereal plane somehow?? with the ghost of long ass dead sonia and apparently not as gone as i thought rauru (seriously i felt sad when he went poof at the end of the tutorial but i guess i shouldnt have) awkwardly blasting dragon zelda with some magic tm and its all reversed no problem (heck me for caring i guess) turns out helping her was killing an evil guy we never really knew and mineru just kinda says lol its bc time and light magic i guess lol as an explanation

like i really wanted to go and help zelda! i was motivated to do it and spent HOURS trying to find impa again but i wasnt allowed to do anything bc zelda gets saved by some deus ex machina bs in the end anyway, what a fool i was, of course killing the evil guy is the solution to everything >:( (and no i dont care if its meant as in uwu sonia and rauru wanted to help one last time uwu bc it doesnt change how unsatisfying it was to watch it all just kinda happen)

--point two is just how much totk feels like its trying to REPLACE botw instead of being a sequel, its not building on anything of it its ripping out the fundation and building its own thing in its place, like i was so excited to see what happened to the titans, and all the sheikah tech what they mabe had done in all that time now that theres a tech enthusiastic girl as the head of the monarchy, maybe even find out more about them and instead its just all ... gone with not explanation? theres isnt even a LAME explanation, its just gone?? you never find out what the ancient energy actually was, and why there were concentrations of it in the regions with the ancient furnace (well heck it didnt even have anything to do with ganondorf actualyl bc that would have been too interesting) bc that was so intrigueing?? like yeah where DID it come from and why is it there ?? and oh suddendly hey look theres an even MORE ancient and even MORE advanced civilization thats way COOLER and BETTER than the ancient sheikah now, they also built stuff everywhere and have been here ALL ALONG cant you see its everywhere!! and its the only thing everyone cares about all of the sudden, all evdidence of the ancient sheikah tech was scraped of the earth so there literally only being some guardian parts on top of the hateno lab feels like an oversight now bc everything lese was to thourohgly wiped of the map- for no reason even?? like im totalls fine with it being useless and not working anymore but .... why remove it like it was wiped from history?? and then they have the gall to mention the happenings of botw like, twice in the entire game but still just give you the most basic summary of it mentioned on a sidenote with again not even a hint what happened to all of it

wouldnt there have been the golden opportunity to use it to access the new parts and map points that changed?? like a shrine thats fallen into the underground, an access to caves and the underground in the broken and collapsed elevator tube of a sheikah srhine?? maybe even a broken interior of an old shrine, like the room you get put into with the puzzle and where the monk once were broken and half overgrown in the udnerground? some left over construction site where you can see oh thats how the ancient sheikah got all that tech underground, bc they all had access to it and built it there to then rise up when its needed? maybe even making use of the old sonau sites since they frequnetly built their srhines within those ruins?? that the ancient sheikah found em and put the ruins to use? to research it and built their own stuff from it? it wouldnt have to have any focus, literally just part of the enviroment even

really everything totk does is like -forget botw ever happend, look how much cooler and better i am, who cares about sheikah stuff sonau are the new cool guys that came out of nowhere but now apparently have been everywhere all along actually-

i LOVE botw and with it feeling much more like its attempting to replace botw instead of building its story and world further every reference to botw i found felt like a slap in the face instead, oh look where the shrine of life used to be isnt even a hint left of sheikah tech somehow, and also right under it is the lake of healing filled with sonau structure bc ACTUALLY they were here FIRST bc they are so cool omg you guys

dare i say it feel a little like they wanted to make an entirely different version of botw basically, but wanted to reuse the map and models so they just said yeah uhhhh its totally a sequel yeah yeha that makes sense, its not erasing botw and doing essentiall the same thing again but bigger cooler and better (tm) its just uuh a ...sequel ye.
