ive been replaying kh1 (going thru the whole series on steam since i never got the chance to play all the games) and i was struck by something a bit odd. i have been dyinggg to talk about it

it's about kairi and her past.

i don't think she's a replica or construct necessarily

but in kh2 there's a parallel drawn between her and sally in halloween town; and the same i think could be true in kh1.

sally is a Frankenstein monster/doll made by the doctor. the entire plot of Halloween town centers around the need for the dr to make a "heart" which requires memories from Sally (the scene of her picking the forget me nots looks a lot like kairi holding a flower for aqua too)

sora takes interest in the project to restore a heart to the heartless too because of his desire to restore Kairi's heart.

i havent really come up with a coherent thought about what this means.

but given that we know kairi was experimented on in a way that involved her heart, it just seems suspicious that this parallel was made twice to her and a doll that was stitched together and animated by a mad scientist.

shes also compared to chirithy in kh3, which from my understanding were created by MoM for keyblade weilders; and to Pooh, who is a toy/story book character that came to life

given too that Kairi already has a weird thing going on with her heart, it just seems possible that theres something..more to it that i have yet to piece together. and its driving me crazy

NO, WAIT… ANON YOU’RE COOKING. Idk what it all means either, but those parallels are so good and so true. Cause there definitely is something artificial about Kairi’s heart, even if just partially. It was experimented on, like you said, and it looks completely different than the organic hearts we see, and I suspect that’s why we’ve never seen Kairi’s heart station. Because it’s (at least partially) artificial. It would look totally different than all the other heart stations and would probably give away what’s going on.

Junpei and Akane:

akane essentially used him (and others) as a pawn in a death game in order to save her own life as a child in the past (its complicated) but junpei & akane were childhood friends and had big crushes on each other and later junpei doesnt even resent her for getting him killed in multiple other timelines & what she put him thru hes just upset that she ran from him afterwards. they have a big blow-up when they meet again after a year and in one timeline they have a happily ever after but in most others one or both of them die and in Another akane deliberately wipes his memory of having met her again (but she keeps the ring he gave her for decades afterwards and still wears it as an old woman)

Lea & Isa / Axel & Saïx:

-Akusaï’s divorce after they lost their souls may not be as damaging to the rest of the worlds, but it did result in eleven years of glaring at each other across the room, verbal abuse of a child, two murders and one attempted murder, and one of the gayest scenes in the entire series (and that’s saying something). This all alongside Saïx getting his face sliced open and his getting possessed on two separate occasions.

They are the bitterest breakup because: so they were best friends, right? and this asshole (Xehanort) decided it would be fun to engage in unethical child experimentation! they meet this kid called Subject X, and she has no memories of who she was (we think she time-traveled from the super-past) and so Xehanort is experimenting on her. because he ALSO lost his memories and is trying to figure out how to get them back. anyways Lea and Isa become friends with Subject X, and they try to help her escape. however, one day she disappears (oh no!) and so Lea and Isa decide to become Ansem's (Xehanort's mentor) apprentices to figure out what happened. and then Xehanort goes on a killing spree, banishing Ansem to the Realm of Darkness and taking his name, then splitting the rest of the apprentices into their Heartlesses and their Nobodies. (lore stuff i dont feel like explaining; the important part is that Nobodies have no hearts, and therefore have no emotions! or so they're supposed to believe...) Xehanort/"the new Ansem" renames himself Xemnas and starts Organization XIII, which Lea and Isa are part of. Lea becomes Axel and Isa becomes Saix. They then spend a decade with no emotions, trying to help Xemnas achieve his goal of summoning Kingdom Hearts (the moon, not the game), which is difficult (impossible) without a Keyblade wielder, while also still figuring out where the hell Subject X went. And then Roxas and Xion, two teenagers, suddenly join Organization XIII. Axel is their basically-babysitter, but he grows a soft spot for them. And Saix doesnt like that, because he thinks Roxas and Xion are distracting Axel from their mission. Ofc it doesn't help that Saix knows what they are (Sora's Nobody and Sora's Replica, respectively) and sees them as less than the other Nobodies. Throughout the course of a year, Axel, Roxas, and Xion get closer while Axel and Saix become more hostile to each other. (funny how having no emotions can really put strain a relationship huh) And then they all die. Sort of. Xion dies and then everyone forgets her (stuff about how she's made of Sora's memories so none of the memories are really her, yada yada heart mumbo jumbo), Roxas goes back to Sora (who's been in a memory-loss-induced coma this whole time), and Axel works against Organization XIII until he dies helping Sora find his friends. But then Axel wakes up again because OOPSY DAISY turns out that killing a person's Nobody and their Heartless restores their original self! So he's Lea now, and everyone keeps deadnaming him. uhhh somewhere in there Saix also dies and gets recompleted but Xehanort (an old dude this time) kidnaps him and turns him into a Nobody (why does this keep happening). But then we find out that Saix found journal entries where he wrote about Xion (that nobody can remember at this point) and he's been working with Vexen and Demyx (other Org XIII members) to create Replica bodies to bring back Xion and Roxas. And ofc Lea doesn't know this, but he joins up with Sora and the other Guardians of Light to fight against the *REAL* Organization XIII (which Saix is a part of). *fight ensues* Saix is able to jog Xion's memories, which in turn lets Lea remember her, then Roxas (in a new Replica body) zhoops down and helps Lea, Xion, and Sora fight Saix and Xemnas. oh wait kairi's there too. uhhhh anyways Xemnas kidnaps Kairi, Sora goes off to save her (please stop doing this Squeenix) and then Lea, Xion, and Roxas all BEAT! SAIX! UP! and then Saix tells us that he was jealous and thought Lea was abandoning him. Saix and Lea have a very tender and homoromantic scene where Saix dies in Lea's arms and he lovingly says "See you, Isa" because he knows now that Isa will come back when Saix "dies" and then uhhh everyone kills Xehanort who then goes to the Kingdom Hearts Afterlife with his ex-husband and then Isa wakes up and he joins Lea, Roxas, and Xion in eating sea-salt ice cream atop a very tall clocktower. love wins!

Two sets of names because these besties break up after their hearts are stolen and they join a cult of people who have no hearts where the leader gives them new names that are anagrams of their old names with an x thrown in. The break up isn't a specific incident but a sliding scale of living without emotions (tge no hearts thing). There isn't canon material from the time of the break up but we do see the aftermath of it where they behave like the most divorced couple you have ever seen. This escalates when Axel gets kids (the cult gets two teenagers to join) and they, through the power of friendship, begin to grow new hearts. Saïx does not like the teenagers AT ALL. He gravitates closer to the cult leader while Axel drifts further away from the cult and Saïx with the kids. Literally the first interaction we see between them in canon is Axel going uh-oh and leaving immediately after he realises that Saïx is arriving. Things happen, Axel is Lea again after he gets his heart back and feels emotions, and in order to make amends Saïx, who's still tightly in the cult, acts as a double agent to betray the cult and free the teenagers. He then dies (foolproof way yo get your heart back) in Lea's arms after admitting he was such a dick bc he was jealous. Lea and Isa are later seen eating ice cream and playing frisbee together with the kids.

I wish you would write Ven (Dandelion Seeds-adjacent) reuniting with Lauriam and Subject X Skuld in the present time. I think it would be kind of heartbreaking, since I feel like they sent him and themselves off in the hopes they would be safe and all of them (Ven like three different times over) just landed in a different tragedy

            “What if they don’t like me?”

            It felt like such a silly, childish thing to ask, and it didn’t even remotely encompass everything Ven wanted to say.  But at the end of the day, he wasn’t the same kid the two of them had known; that boy had died, somewhere between trapping Darkness inside him and being torn apart, and he had been left to pick up the scattered memories of who he used to be.

            “Then they don’t know what they’re missing,” Aqua informed him.

            “And we can always drop paint on them—ow.”  Terra lifted his hands in a placating manner, warding off getting elbowed again.

            Ven smiled, despite himself, and laughed quietly.  “Thanks, guys.”

            Skuld and Lauriam were…waiting for him.  Just outside the castle doors.  He flexed his fingers and released a shaky breath.  He didn’t know much about what they’d be like, either, he realized—he knew a little about what had happened, from Lea and Isa and Namine and Sora, but he didn’t know what that meant for any of them.  That felt almost as frightening as the thought of rejection.

            Still.  He wasn’t that same terrified kid who didn’t feel qualified to be a Union Leader anymore.  He was almost a Master in his own right.  He’d made it through several wars, apparently, and fought Heartless and Unversed, and braved the afterlife to save his friend.  He could face trying to reconnect with these people a part of him once knew.

            …Probably.

            Before he could talk himself out of it, Ven pushed open the castle doors and strode into the courtyard.

            Two pairs of eyes snapped towards him immediately, quiet conversation cut short.  He’d known what Lauriam would look like, from his vague memories of seeing Marluxia on the battlefield, but it was still jarring to compare to the skinnier, softer-faced boy from his memories.  Skuld—he hadn’t been sure what his image of an older Skuld was, but this felt almost right; too lean, maybe, from travel or from whatever Xehanort had put her through, her expression still a little too guarded, but the clothes weren’t all that different from what she used to wear, patch-marked with trinkets from the worlds she’d visited, hair long and braided, a familiar warmth in her eyes that life hadn’t quite managed to crush out of her.

            Lauriam mouthed something that Ven thought might’ve been his name; he started towards him, then stopped almost as abruptly, hand lifted like he’d wanted to reach out to him but couldn’t.

            Ven swallowed tightly.  Echoes of conversations flitted through his head:

            (“You’ll grow into it.  Just give it time.”)

            (“I love you too, you know.  You’re like my little brother, and I don’t want you to be distressed, either.”)

            (“The rest of us love you, Ven, and that doesn’t hinge on what you do or don’t do.  We care about you.  Okay?”)

            This had been his brother, once; he’d been terrified of how Lauriam might react to him (this wasn’t the first time you took his sibling away), but he suddenly realized that maybe Lauriam had similar fears.  Maybe we’re just all a little broken, and we’ll have to make something new from the pieces.

            Ven flashed Lauriam a tremulous smile and opened his arms for a hug.  “Hey, Lauriam.”

            Lauriam made a pained noise that didn’t sound entirely voluntary and cross the distance, nearly bowling Ven over.  Ven laughed, giddy and relieved.  “No fair; you weren’t supposed to get so much bigger than me.”

            Lauriam laughed, the sound wet, hug so tight Ven could barely breathe.  “You had a lot of catching up to do.”

            “Hey!”

            Lauriam snorted, and then sucked in a deep, shaky breath.  “I missed you.”

            Ven’s eyes stung.  “Missed you, too.”  He wriggled away from Lauriam enough to extend an arm towards Skuld.

            Skuld hesitated, looking almost lost, then shook her head with a soft smile.  “It’s not you,” she promised, apparently catching Ven’s crestfallen look.  “Things just…happened.”

            “That…feels like an understatement,” Ven admitted.

            Skuld crossed the distance to join them; after a hesitant moment she reached out a hand, placing it cautiously against Ven’s cheek.  Something in her expression relaxed, the wariness fading away.  “You grew a lot, too,” she said, voice bittersweet.

            “Not enough, apparently,” Ven grumbled, giving Lauriam a pointed look.

            “That just means that you can make Lauriam reach for things.”

            Lauriam sighed.

            Footsteps came, quiet, from behind them; Skuld shifted, all wariness again, positioning herself just slightly so that she was in front of Ven and Lauriam.  Ven had half a moment to worry before looking to see Terra and Aqua, approaching slowly.  “Don’t worry.  Those are my friends.  Come on, I’ll take you to meet them.”  He paused, and then added, “And then…maybe we can catch up.  Find out what we’ve all been doing since…you know.”

            Lauriam’s expression turned pained; Skuld’s just looked sad.  “It isn’t a nice story, Ven,” Skuld murmured.  With a glance towards Lauriam, she added, “Either of ours.”

            Ven could feel his expression softening.  “I know.  Mine isn’t either, in some ways.  But…I want to know, anyways.”

            Skuld’s expression softened.  “I…don’t think Lauriam’s planning on letting you go anytime soon.”

            Lauriam looked sheepish, but he didn’t deny it.

            Ven laughed, then grabbed Lauriam’s hand and dragged him towards his friends, Skuld keeping pace.  Their relationship might not be the same as it was, maybe—but they could start rebuilding it, and maybe make something new.

I keep thinking about present day KH characters and their similarities to Ux characters.

Riku seems SO much like he's a descendant of Ephemer. Sora seems like he could be a descendant or reincarnation of Player, with what little bits of personality we get from them. Namine (and therefore Kairi to a degree) has a LOT of similarities to Ava. And I want to say Xion feels similar to Skuld, but I'd want to see more of her in situations now that her existence isn't up for debate and she doesn't need to angst over that. But wouldn't that be satisfying for Lea and Isa for Xion to have some tie to Skuld? (Naturally assuming the prisoner they were trying to save was Skuld)

Then it just feels like the narrative can delve somewhat into some delightful inter-generational drama. Like Player and Ephemer's bond is so strong that across lifetimes they keep being drawn to one another trying to find some ending where they can be happy. And Player finally getting saved by Strelitzia through Sora, like she'd set out to do before getting murdered by possessed Vennifer. And speaking of Ven, it would be kind of rad if him getting his memories back, after all the drama of remembering that trauma from Ux, was the segue into this revelation about these characters.

For some pretense, one of my huge wants in KH4 is for Sora to finally start unpacking his trauma and basically for KH4 to be for him what CoM was for Riku's growth. How cool would that be if while unpacking his trauma and getting back some of his repressed CoM memories and remembering Riku's sacrifice at the Tear, he also starts getting flashbacks to previous life as Player and the lives in between? Even something as simple as "why did I see Xehanort as a small baby?"

Character(s)/Game Focus: KH 1 (endgame)

Description: Varian’s sections are Riku pre possession (first part when he steals ‘Sora’s’ keyblade, last part him getting possessed by Ansem). Cassandra’s sections and the “I’ll save my home and family” is the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee doing things to help (what I presume they were doing before they just kinda, show up at Hollow Bastion), and Rapunzel and her dad’s(??) sections as well as the “prove they can trust me” are Sora and the Beast.

This idea is primarily lip sync and not really specific scenes. More so just a point in time

Song: Meet Me in the Woods

Character(s)/Game Focus: Lea/Axel

Description: An animation depicting Lea/Axel’s life starting with him and Isa finding Subject X (the “journey to the unknown”). “The darkness getting ahold of them” is referring becoming Ansem’s apprentices and their eventual initiation into the Organization because of it. The music between verses is the early days of them in the Organization then shifts to Roxas’ early days there. “How long baby have I been away” is post-Castle Oblivion. The first chorus is the Sea Salt Trio kinda becoming a trio. “Yeah the truth is stranger than my own worst dreams” is him learning about Xion being a replica. Then right after is everything falling apart for the trio. The second chorus going into the wind down is Axel/Lea’s redemption and KH3 stuff (keyblade war too before it starts to slow down). Then at the end when it really slows down is the Sea Salt Trio’s reunion.

Song: Unravel

Character(s)/Game Focus: Heart Hotel/Sortas (Sora, Ven, Roxas, Xion, Vanitas)

Description: First section is UX Ven. Post first drop to "that is where I'll live on" is Xion (just her story in Days). The section ends with her dying then switches to Roxas after her death for the 'angry part' (fighting Riku) then when the music chills out a bit he returns to Sora. Then when its the instrumental of the chorus we start Vanitas' section/BBS Ventus' section. The "breakable, unbreakable" back and forth is basically their talk before their big fight in Ven's heart, which starts at the "I won't let you contaminate me!" (from Ven) but the scene cuts before they start to fight. The next part is Sora in DDD. The part where they're repeating "Don't forget me" is when Riku is in Sora's heart talking to each Sorta (and Vanitas is there too I guess). Order is the same as in the game with Vani in there somewhere (unless Xion isn't last, she needs to be the last one). The part where they repeat the first line is the scene in KH3 where its 'revealed' Sora has other hearts withing him.

Song: Don’t Make Me

Character(s)/Game Focus: Lauriam

Description: This one is definitely outdated. Like it pre-dates the update where Lauriam actually finds out that the NULs know his sister is dead (the script obviously has been updated since then but I think the fact that it is that old still kinda shows). But yeah Don’t Make Me is basically Lauriam slowly becoming more suspicious of everyone and really really hoping none of them had anything to do with his sister’s disappearance. Because if they were he might just end up being a villain in their story. Again really old, so my interpretation of events were kinda off since I hadn’t seen all the cutscenes a bajillion times, but I think it’d make a fun AU.

Character(s)/Game Focus: Mostly KH 3 and 4 (whenever it comes out)

Description: Patience is the game for this one. The idea is incomplete until Riku finds Sora but here’s my thoughts so far. Before the first chorus it’s a bunch of events from Sora’s story leading up to Riku’s sacrifice. The sacrifice is then the chorus (“cold, cold feet”, is Riku stepping forward etc etc). The drop is Sora reviving everyone and resetting the timeline and stuff and the rest of KH3 if there’s enough room. The “wherever you are I wish you well” to “they’re not ringing for me” is Riku being angsty about Sora’s disappearance, looking for him and stuff. The “couldn’t do a thing to make you stay” to “one hell of a story” is Kairi being angsty about it. The pre-chorus is the stuff with the Fairy Godmother and the Final World in MelMem and there’s the cut off. The rest I just gotta wait for I guess lol

Character(s)/Game Focus: Ventus

Description: Basically just the scene where Ven walks in on Lauriam attacking Brain and decides it’s a good time to confess to murder. The first two lines are just Ven lip syncing. Then Lauriam attacks for the next line two lines. Darkness leaves Ventus on “caught up in a grip when we where us”. “Fingers in a fist like you might run” is Lauriam tightening his fist around his Keyblade. And the last three lines are a shot of Darkness, and shot of the NULs, and then a shot of the two standing across from each other.

I could’ve sworn I had this scripted out somewhere but I searched all my google accounts and nothing… must’ve been on paper.

Description: Purely headcanon based on how I feel Ven’s character might go in the future. Basically about Ven (Post-KH3) going out and trying to find out more about his past. Find the friends from his dream. One of the ones he mentioned he had while while within Sora (“these people I didn’t recognize and weird animal creatures” which I assume are the NULs and Chirithies/Spirits). Mostly just him singing to himself around the Land of Departure (then other worlds he’s exploring during the second half of the song). Herc’s mom and dad are Aqua and Terra.

Description: The song is kinda goofy and nonsensical but I think it actually really works with Xion's story. The first verse is her normal, missions and some identity issues thrown in for fun. The second is her going to Castle Oblivion. The first chorus is the trio at the clocktower. The third verse is the stuff with Naminé, DiZ, and Riku. The second chorus is her going back and fighting Roxas. The post chorus is her dying and returning to Sora. And the rest of the song is post KH3, just hanging out with her pals (and Isa lol).

Description: Basically Ven's journey through BBS. This one would have the lyrics on screen. The chorus would be the pretty much the same every time. The majority of the chorus would be a looping run animation. The "they say" and "to the graveyard" parts being the variables. For the former the character to the side of the text 'speaking' changes each time and the later the location Ven ends up is different each time. Everything post "it's funny how the warning signs can feel like they're butterflies" is BBS' final battle.

The “my hero’s had the heart to lose the lives I wanna live” to “ever since I was little x2 it looked like fun” is the Forteller’s in Keyblade War and flashbacks to Luxu felling left out and stuff. Description: So this one has been tweaked a bit. Before UX ended I was pretty positive Ephemer was gonna die, so it was originally centred around that. Now though its Ephemer in the Lifeboat, floating in the water, alone, questioning what he did wrong, why none of his friends are there. Which I think works better, honestly.

Description: I think this song fits so well with KHUX, I like lost my mind when I made the connection. Like that whole first verse? So on the nose it hurts. The first verse, pre-chorus and chorus would focus specifically on UX, with the first verse being Ava talking about/to Ephemer, then it following Ephemer through the events of Union X. The next verse is Subject X (Skuld) having vague memories of UX. Then next the pre-chorus and chorus follows Ven through BBS. The following pre-chorus and chorus are Marluxia. And the last “pre-chorus” is Brain in Scala (I originally thought he was the founder so my original idea kinda holds up).

The LowerClassmen at various points in time arguing about whether Xehanort is an off worlder or gay because as soon as he showed up Vor gaydar went off. Bragi uses advanced tactics to try and get Xehanort to admit it. And when Xehanort denies it Eraqus comes in. Also the part where Urd says “Metro, hetero, jerk” I like to imagine she’s gesturing aggressively towards Bragi, who is just staring at her confused like “I’m not even straight??” (Urd has no gaydar, fight me lol).

Less Brain centric than you’d think but I’m making this a separate section because of the way they’re scripted and the ideas behind them. I got much more lax about how the scripts look and started think more about Ephemer and Brain’s futures.

So basically a lot of “I miss my friends” kind of angst

It’s also after I started reading Dandelion Seeds so there’s definitely inspiration from that in here too

Description: Ephemer after using the Lifeboat writing letters for the other Union Leaders. Each "different section of the song"hey ther Delilah" is a different letter (and point in time). The first and second ones are to Skuld. The third one I haven't decided yet. The forth is to Brain (I don't ship them, I just headcannon its a running joke between the two of them and Skuld that Eph and Brain are secretly madly in love. Skuld started it, Ephemer went with it, Brain is amused annoyed by it lol). Then "A thousand miles seems pretty far" to "and you're to blame" is just general, to everyone, just like a montage I guess, with some memories behind him. Then the last letter is to Brain when.

"You get separated" to "you were a friend of mine" is Ephemer during the finale. You know the drill. Player gets 'possessed' and killed, oof. Alternitively if we get a bit headcannon-y it can be after UX and him rebuilding Scala, the "You were a friend of mine" referring to a possessed Brain. All the "'cause they don't know you like I do"s are Brain in Scala. Super angry rock part is Subject X/Skuld being upset about the scientists and being unable to return to the world she sees so vaguely in her memories. Then it slows down and turns to Marluxia until the last "getting better in the worst way". After which it switches to Luxu.

"Jack and Rose" it switches to split screen of them both at the computers at their respective versions of Daybreak Town. "But you sunk only you froze", Brain's side of the screen consumes Ephemer's as Luxu approaches him. "'Cause you gave her your sweater", Brin spins around and tries to summon his keyblade but can't. Black screen. Then the rest of the verses are Ephemer in the wreckage of his home and the last chorus is Brain arriving in Scala.

The first chrous is him during the UX finale and possessing Brain. "Well you are my accuser" to the first "I am the only son" is Bragi getting threatened by Baldr then uno reversing him. The next two choruses are Braig and Xigbar stuff, all the way up until the end of KH3. Then the goes out of the flashbacks to where we left off in the first scene. He finds No Name summons and back the Foretellers.

The falling parts show Baldr’s victims at the point in time the animation is showing. The fact that that gives me a chance to do the sickest transition ever with Baldr summoning his keyblade and slashing his victims, turning them into the blood on his face. Ahhhhhh! The way I can end it with Baldr begging for his life and Xehanort being the one to say the last “I don’t really care now” thereby paralleling them and foreshadowing Xehanort’s future crimes. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I wanna ramble more but I don’t have any more words in me, just screaming.

I mean “you refuse to look at the guide ‘cause you think you’re way too smart”, this kid literally had the Book of Prophecies this whole time, and I mean sure, it was probably a trap but he didn’t exactly know that. And the whole video game motif fitting right in with data world stuff? Eating it up. Giving Brain a non-cannon breakdown moment? Necessary for that emotional high note (but also Brain should get to have a canon one *preemptively does vaguely threatening gestures towards ML*).

its all fun and games calling kingdom hearts "goofy" and "ridiculous" until youre sitting there sobbing at your computer while you watch a group of friends all try (and fail)(ish) to save each other from the end of the world😔 (although skuld being like "im glad youre here with me🥺" and ephemera like "mhm. *thinking about the mc* was SO funny)

but of course, the ending was just as confusing as anything else in this series. luxu bodyhopped into brain's body but brain still got teleported elsewhere? or is it time shenanigans where luxu and the MoM were brain and ephemera the whole time? or is it that the ending we see where ephemera ends up floating over the remains of daybreak town -- does him being the creator of scala ad caelum mean that he built that town on the corpse of daybreak town?? and the only shenanigan here is brain being sent into a future where ephemera is long dead but way before the current timeline?

ALSO. i tried rewatching the scenes where ephemera and the union x players lend their power to sora AND the secret epilogue to see if either of those meant anything more to me now that i'd seen the ending of x, and the epilogue kind of did i guess, now that i know the real role of the master and his apprentices, but the thing with ephemera and the keyblade wielders just feels like fanservice pfft. it still hit me almost as hard as it did the very first time i encountered it though so its Good fanservice, but still

She had watched him pull away from the others with a small, curious frown as if unsure what the matter was and whether or not she should follow the other. They all gathered as often as they could now, knowing how fragile this time together was, especially when Sora's absence left so obvious a mark on all of them. Riku seemed to subconsciously be leaving him a seat every time, and it hurt to see him suffer so silently. Yet there was nothing she could do for him but be there.

Isa was a similar case, it seemed, although she was much less familiar with the young man than she was with the keyblade master who had saved her from the Realm of Darkness.

"May I join you?" She'd asked once Terra had encouraged her to follow and she'd tracked him down, sitting next to him with her legs hanging into the emptiness below. This was a secluded little spot, a bit higher up, turned away from the main beach enough that they wouldn't be easily spotted. Was he avoiding the others, or was something else the matter?

Then again, from what little she'd heard, he'd been through a lot and Aqua couldn't fault him the need for some quiet time away from everyone else. She and Terra did the same on occasion. She would watch him disappear into himself, lost in thoughts and memories of the years he'd been trapped, whereas she would pull away from everyone and seek out a quiet, shadowed corner. She didn't like being alone, not after the silence and danger of that place, but sometimes she needed it just as much as she loathed it… To be away from the overwhelming sounds, the bright light and the myriad of scents she was still trying to get used to.

"It's my pleasure, truly." She answers with a soft, open smile as he speaks, glancing toward the other before turning her gaze back onto the sunset slowly but surely crawling away behind the horizon.

"If you want the company, or need someone to listen, please don't hesitate to seek me out. Terra too, I think he'd like that." She knew he would. Being whole and free meant some of the memories he'd been locked away from were filtering through to him now, and some of it was confusing or painful, but she caught him looking at Isa and Lea sometimes, as though half in recognition. Yes, he'd certainly like it.

Idk if this was talked about, but in days saix never leaves the castle.

After all, xemnas kept him on a short leash.

I have wondered about that, too. He is the only Organization member who never goes on any missions in Days. He does go off hunting Axel down in KH2, so apparently, he had permission to leave the castle. My theory is that he just never wanted to because it reminded him of how little freedom he had.

Like you, I also got the sense that Saix was kept on a short leash. He was a vessel and he bore the sigil. That meant that “they” would know where he was at all times. A recusant is someone who refuses to submit to authority. So I saw the sigil as like a brand of ownership. You belong to me and you WILL obey your master. There’s this scene in the novel where Saix tries arguing with Xemnas and he just says, “Silence.” Like he’s a dog. And I think that is exactly how Xemnas saw Saix. A lapdog is a person that is controlled by another. Same exact meaning as puppet.

Saix may not have known that he was a literal puppet of Xehanort, but he certainly knew he was a puppet in a figurative sense. He had no choice but to dance on Xemnas’s strings and follow his orders and he HATED it. When I first played Days, it seemed to me like Axel and Saix were looking for a way to take over the Organization so they could finally be FREE. It made me mad when Axel told Saix to wise up already and just quit. Um, what? Since WHEN can you just quit? 

When 358/2 Days and BBS were created, I'm sure the writers had a backstory in mind for Isa. Did he meet a "stray puppy” who was locked up in the castle and ask to be an apprentice so he could try and save her? Sure, I can buy that. Although when those games were made, Skuld didn't even exist. If there WAS a girl, it was Kairi. During that time when Saix was in the Organization, was he constantly thinking about the girl, trying to find info on her? I find that utterly ridiculous and absurd. The man who barely even batted an eyelash when he heard that his best friend may have been terminated in Castle Oblivion? HE became Xemnas’s personal man-slave for ten years because he was worried about a girl that he barely knew? Yeah, sure.

It's Spooky Month; time for Pence's Spooky ghost story he's worked hard on, waiting for the perfect beach party setting to tell it. Thankfully Ansem The Wise is here with some repayment, the special beach vacation the teens have been dreaming about for years (and two adults to babysit, just to make sure nobody catches the rental home on fire) It’s a story about 5 teens and their one adult friend who buys them ice cream, drives them places, and is hiding a dark secret.

   There's an abandoned mansion in town and the five teens are determined to find out it's secrets. What else do you do on your boring summer vacation, anyway? Little do the heroes know, two of their party, technically three, are survivors from the tragedy that hit the mansion so many years ago, memories all but lost. Or, lost to the blonde boy, his sister can’t seem to get too close to the house without losing her mind. Rumors are the mansion is really haunted, but how haunted could it be?

   Super haunted, apparently. 

   The old residents were betrayed by Xehanort, their bodies both living and dead experimented on to see how much torture their spirits could handle and how long their hearts could survive. One left frozen to the elements, immolated once his use was done. Another fed to a beast. The guardian, torn in half when trying to save his master. A young master’s heart removed. The manor Lord bound and starved. All perished, all still haunting the grounds

   The teen’s Adult tried to keep them from the mansion, having been forced and tricked to help with some of the murders under the lie that it’d save his friend who was also taken hostage, but the truth of his past came out when the quartet-plus-one got trapped inside. The truth of why the blonde had no memory beyond his tenth year and his sister’s reluctance to get close once they found he Crying Girl, dead and soul trapped in a room.

One by one they slowly figured out how the old residents perished and why they were so angry. None of the dead can truly see each other in full save two, each trapped on different planes of existence. It’s up to the teens to try to soothe the angry spirits, but if the kids get caught by the ghosts, they're dead. Their Adult sacrifices himself to help the teens escape in the end, letting his life be taken and spirit return to the house in the final escape when the spirit of a wolf comes to stop them in that final stretch.

   [Guys-- can you cheer up a little? This story...]

 Only after Xehanort is fed to the house can the ghosts finally rest and see each other again. Only then can they finally pass on and be happy.

Rumor has it the mansion is still haunted though, even after the Teens do their best, but now if you go there's One More Ghost waiting with a wolf at his side...

tl;dr Pence made up a ‘totally cool horror story guys’ he’s sharing with the others and Isa and Lea are listening in, really concerned about how much he was able to guess/make up with frightening accuracy just from the vagues he’s picked up along the way. Neither are gonna sleep that well that night.

Sweet on You

“Ahh, it feels like forever since I’ve been to Twilight Town!” Kairi cried jubilantly as she ran down the forest path, eager to escape the woods where they’d hidden the Gummi ship and reach the town proper. She stopped to spin on her heel in the dirt, flashing Sora a brilliant smile. “Of course, the last time I was here, I was hiding from the Organization,” she joked, twirling a lock of her short auburn hair around her finger. Sora snorted at her cheekiness, amazed at her ability to reconcile with what was probably a pretty harrowing experience. But, that boundless optimism was one of the many things he appreciated about Kairi. 

“Well, now we don’t have to worry about them,” he smiled back, leaves crunching under his feet as he followed after her. She waited for him to join her on the path, standing there with her hands clasped behind her back in that adorable way that never failed to make his heart flutter. He was glad to see that even after everything they’d been through, some things still hadn’t changed. 

“So? What do you want to do while we’re in town?” he asked when he reached her, sliding his hands in his pockets. Kairi walked along beside him, a spring in her step. 

“I want to visit Olette, Pence, and Hayner, of course! Oh— and Xion, Roxas, Isa, and Lea, too. I want to try those pretzels and sea salt they brag about so much!” she giggled. He loved her giggle, he realized dreamily. It was the sweetest of sounds, sweeter than even the bells of Scala ad Caelum ringing in the dawn blush light. “But you know,” she said suddenly, snapping him out of his daze, “I didn’t really get to enjoy the town much last time, since I was hiding away. Before we do that, can we explore a little bit, Sora?” 

“Absolutely! Anything you want, Kairi!” he agreed immediately. 

Ugh. He could hear Riku laughing now, calling him “whipped.” How was he supposed to refuse, though, when she was asking him so cutely with that excited shine in her eyes and that pretty smile on her lips? Saying no would be downright criminal!

Giggling with delight, she scampered down the path again towards the triangular gap in the brick wall that served as the entrance to the woods. Yeah, Sora reconciled with a soft smile as he watched her skirt swish around her thighs and her hair bounce around her shoulders. He was definitely whipped for Kairi. He’d always been, really. She was his light.

The sunlight enveloped them as they stepped out into the city, warm and welcoming. The tram was trundling by, rocking gently on the tracks with its metal gleaming in the sunset haze. Sora had always liked Twilight Town, not just because Roxas’ heart lay dormant inside of him. It reminded him a bit of Destiny Islands— the warm sun coating his skin, the breeze carrying the scent of trees, the atmosphere of peace and tranquility. He paused at the edge of the ledge to close his eyes and savor the sunbeams playing over his face. He cracked an eye open when he felt Kairi stand next to him. 

“I can see why they love this place so much,” she hummed, observing the honeyed skyline with lidded eyes. “It really is beautiful…” 

He could sense the “but” lingering on her tongue. 

“But… It’s not home?” he guessed, and she looked at him with a wan smirk. 

“Yeah. But it’s home to them, so I suppose that’s all that matters,” she shrugged, her look turning cheery, and he couldn’t help but grin. She always found the bright side of things— she always found the light. “But, you could definitely pick a worse home to have.” 

“Yeah, that’s true.”

Kairi took another moment to scan the horizon, watching the golden light play across the oranges and browns of the buildings. Then she cocked her head to the side with a girlish laugh. Her smile was nearly blinding as she declared, “All right, enough sightseeing! I wanna go shopping!” 

“Yes ma’am!” he said with a salute, and Kairi laughed again. Gosh, if he could only hear one sound for the rest of his life, it would be Kairi’s laugh, no question. Her giggles floated in the air as she hurried down the steps to the causeway. If Sora tried hard enough, he could see them floating around like bubbles, little iridescent, rainbow films of her beautiful laugh. He reached up to touch them, but they skipped just beyond the edges of his fingertips to float up, up, up into the honey-colored sky and red-tinged clouds. That was okay, though, because there were always more where that came from. 

“You know, I’m surprised to see so much green here,” Kairi commented as she looked at all the small planters and flower boxes adorning the city. They perched on windowsills, rested on tables, sat on porch steps, or were positioned along the sidewalk. Flowers, ferns, herbs— everything and more could be found in the myriad of little pots littering the city streets, and their bright green fronds and stalks almost glowed against the background of autumn colors. “It really does make everything a little bit homier,” she hummed in contentment. 

“Yeah, and gives Little Chef a lot of ingredients to gather!” he added with a bright grin. 

“Oh, right, of course. That’s very important!” she giggled, prompting Sora to raise an eyebrow challengingly. 

“What? Are you making fun of me?” 

“No, it’s just nice to see that your love for food hasn’t changed,” she chuckled. “You either think with your heart or your stomach!” 

Sora opened his mouth to object, then closed it because it was true. It still felt like he was being made fun of, but darn it, she just looked too cute with that teasing smirk and the tip of her tongue sticking out between her teeth! Oh, he was whipped all right, more than Little Chef’s best frosting. He looked out to the road, and a smile played over his lips as he considered just how much Kairi had him wrapped around her finger. 

It was then that he spied something resting beside the main shopping complex, and he started thinking with his stomach again.

“Speaking of love for food…” 

A cute little cart was parked beside the complex. Pink and white heart-shaped balloons that were tied to the handle bobbed in the breeze, their metallic surfaces gleaming. Red, white, and pink streamers adorned the white cart’s side, and inside, an assortment of candies rested on a soft bed of baby-pink faux grass. Sora’s mouth began to salivate immediately upon clapping eyes on it, and Kairi laughed at him. For the first time that day, he was too absorbed in the promise of sweets to fixate on how much he loved her laugh. 

“What’s this? This is new!” he exclaimed as he pranced up to it. The young woman chuckled at his excited approach, flicking her bangs out of her face and primly resting her hands against her chocolate-smeared apron. 

“Hi there! This is a special promotion that the local chocolatier is doing for Valentine’s Day.” 

“Valentine’s Day?” he echoed. Was it really February? Time sure flew when you were running around saving the world. 

“What’s the promotion?” Kairi asked, peering around his shoulder to admire the assortment of candied goods nestled in the plastic stringy faux grass. 

“We’re giving away free samples today!” the attendant chirped. “Please, pick whatever you like— for yourself, for someone special.” She gave Sora a playful wink, which made his cheeks turn as pink as the decorations on the cart. 

Thankfully, Kairi had become too engrossed in the heart-shaped cake pops to catch the candy seller’s jibe. After carefully studying one for a moment, she plucked it out of the display and promptly took a chomp out of it. She hummed exultantly as she chewed the red velvet and red icing, then opened her eyes to smile at the attendant. 

“This is delicious! Oh, we should bring everyone something, don’t you think, Sora?”

“Totally, as long as the attendant doesn’t mind. We don’t want to run off with all her stock.” 

“Please do!” she smiled pleasantly. “We want everyone to be able to enjoy these sweet treats. All I ask is that you check out the chocolatier sometime soon to look at our complete stock!” 

After promising to follow through, Kairi and Sora began picking out free samples to bring to their friends. They tried to choose a variety while still choosing things they thought they would each enjoy. While Kairi was debating between a mini strawberry shortcake and a chocolate eclair, Sora discreetly stowed a wrapped heart-shaped lollipop in his shorts pocket. 

Of course, it didn’t go unnoticed by the candy attendant. 

Someone special? She mouthed with a smirk playing over her lips. With a sidelong glance at Kairi that melted into a loving smile, he nodded. Someone special, indeed. 

After making their decisions, Sora and Kairi headed off to rendezvous with their friends. They were delighted to find the treats well-received (though comments of pretzels and sea salt ice cream were made… and comments turned into procuration, but Sora was never going to complain about more food!). They watched the sunset from the clock tower, all of them squashed together on the ledge so tightly that poor Pence almost fell off, but it worked out all right and they had a good laugh about it. 

Just as the last red rays of the setting sun were spearing across the sky in their last goodbye, they said their farewells and headed back to the Gummi ship. Kairi pranced along the path, cooing at the fireflies flitting through the trees and underbrush to fill the gloomy forest with an earthy green glow. It was a town of sunset and greenery, two things so at odds with each other yet complimented one another so well here. And at the center of all that beautiful color was Kairi. 

She danced in a circle, laughing jubilantly as she whirled her arms around to scatter the fireflies like a thousand leaves. Her hair flowed around her face like an autumn breeze, and her skirt swished around her legs like florets on the wind. The green flickering lights and puddles of moonlight illuminated her form, and in that moment, she looked like an angel descended to earth. 

“I love you,” he whispered in reverence. He found his throat closed up with emotion, but he kept going in his head. I love you. I love you so much it hurts. I can’t imagine life without you, because I love you, I love you, I love you, and I always have. He wasn’t sure when he started crying, but Kairi saw them gleaming in the moonlight, and that’s when she stopped dancing to look at him in concern. 

“Sora? Sora, what’s wrong?” she gasped and ran up to him. He just looked down at her while she raised her hands to his cheeks, sweeping away his tears with soft, gentle brushes of her thumbs. “Talk to me,” she whispered, oh-so-sweetly that his heart broke with happiness. 

“Kairi… There was something from the candy cart that I didn’t share with anyone else,” he whispered, his voice hoarse with emotion. She knitted her eyebrows together in confusion as he procured the lollipop from his pocket and held it out to her. She looked up at him, then down at the lollipop. She took it, turning it over to peer through the plastic film at the simple words etched in white icing on the front of the pink lollipop. 

BE MINE.

“Sora…” she murmured, looking up at him. He smiled sweetly even through the tears that still spilled from his eyes. She looked beautiful even in the way she kaleidoscoped in his watery vision. He reached up to cup her face in his hands, and he marveled at the way her cheeks nestled so perfectly against his palms, like they were made to be held by him and only him. Her eyelashes fluttered as she stared up at him in bewilderment, surprise, and hope.

“I love you,” he whispered again, but so she could hear this time. “I love you, Kairi. You are the light of my life, you know that?” 

“Yeah,” she said, her voice breaking as her own tears broke through the dam to flow down her face. They beaded against his palms, roughened by his years of wielding the Keyblade, but still soft enough for her to cuddle into his touch. “You’re the light of my life, too. I’m yours, Sora, I always have been.” 

He smiled at that, a broken smile because his mouth just simply couldn’t display the sheer amount of joy welling up inside of him. He petted her cheeks, wiping away her tears as she hiccuped sobby little giggles that just made her cheeks warm with embarrassment. He leaned forward to press his forehead to hers, unable to stop himself from whispering, “You’re so cute.” 

“Stop… You’re gonna embarrass me,” she complained, even though she laughed. 

“I can’t help myself. You are.” 

“Can… Can you just… Can you kiss me already, please?” she sniffed, her cheeks shining like pink opals in the moonlight. 

How could he ever refuse, especially whipped for her as he was? 

He immediately rushed in to do as she said, but he let his zeal get the best of him, because his nose collided with hers. Nervous apologies tumbled from his mouth but Kairi just giggled and guided his face back down, nosing his cheek to prompt him to try again. He took it slower this time, easing himself in to experimentally brush his lips over hers. Kairi waited for her to find his rhythm, but he could feel her excitement in the way her mouth trembled. After a few tentative pecks, he smoothed his lips over hers in a full, sweet, passionate kiss, and she melted against him. 

Forget the candy cart— Kairi’s lips were the sweetest thing he would ever taste, period. 

He kissed her again, and again, and again, until Kairi was fleeing his advances with giddy, bubbly laughter. His lips still fluttered over the places he could reach— her cheeks, her nose, her forehead, her jawline, even her eyelids. He was just drowning in love and he didn’t know how else to get it out besides showering her in affection. 

“Sora,” she insisted as she ran from his lips again, and this time, he just pouted at her. She placated him with a little peck to his pursed lips, which did make him feel a little better. “We have all the time in the world now,” she reminded him with a sweet smile. “I would like to go home at some point.” 

Right. Home— the home he shared with his friends, with his family, with Kairi. He pulled away to link his hand with hers, while she peeled the plastic off the lollipop to pop it into her mouth. The BE MINE flashed in the moonlight, making Sora’s heart swell with adoration. Kairi didn’t mean for it to be a question, but he answered it in his heart anyway. 

Always, Kairi. Always and forever.

When we first heard about Kingdom Heart 3 actually being in production, we all thought Sora was going to have an identity crisis over having three hearts inside of him, and making him wonder who he really was and what part of him was really “Sora”. Especially since he had Ventus inside his heart for thirteen years.

Now though...

Holy shit. We were Xehanort all along. 😱 Gods. Xehanort wasn’t even from Destiny Islands. He was born in Scala. We, the player, were friends with Ephemer, Brain, Skuld, Ven, and Elrena and Lauriam... but then get reborn as a crazy old man who-

1) Abuses Ven and forcibly rips the darkness (Vanitas) out of his heart and pretty much leaves him for dead on Destiny Islands, and would have if not for baby Sora’s new heart reaching out and filling the cracks in Ven’s heart with light.

2) After stealing Terra’s body, becoming an apprentice, and sealing Ansem the Wise away, stealing his name “Ansem” for himself, he conducts experiments on human beings. Project X very possibly (and seeming definitely at this point) being Skuld. Which is the “girl” that Isa and Lea became apprentices for to try and save her.

And 3) Xehanort (as the Nobody known as Xemnas) brings Lauriam and Elrena’s Nobodies to Organization XIII to be empty vessels for the “real” Organization XIII, only to have them sent to Castle Oblivion to be killed off because they proved too close to nurturing themselves new hearts. Then, later, had them act as members for the “real” organization so they were basically hosts for pieces of his heart that he had split up into thirteen parts.

10:45 a.m. Outside of the Coffee Place in Traverse Town........

Aqua/Terra: (Burst Out Laughing at What is in Front of Both of Them) AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Lea: (Stares at the Laughing Couple in an Annoyed Manner.....All While is Hair is Dyed Completely Green) ............... (Slowly Turns his Head to Isa) Why didn't you let me say home today?

Isa: (Calmly Reads his Book While Ignoring the Look Lea is Giving Him) Cause Aqua and Terra would be worried if you didn't show up.

Lea: One day of me not meeting up with you guys here wouldn't kill anyone. And besides, they're laughing like a bunch of loons here!

Isa: Well, consider this punishment for trying dye your hair green. (Casually Sips on his Cup of Coffee)

Lea: (Glares at Isa) Well, excuse me for not wanting to get pinched 24/7!

Aqua: (Trying her Best to Calm Herself Down) Oho, Lea!~ We're sorry. (Wipe a Tear from her Eyes) We didn't mean to laugh at you like that.

Terra: (Tries Calming Down as Well) Yeah. (Snickers a Little) We were just....Really caught off guard by that brand new color of that hair of yours. What gives?

Lea: (Sighs as he Turns Back to Aqua and Terra) Well, if you two lovebirds must know, I've been wanting to prevent myself from getting pinched by the two numbskulls that happens to be my kids. (Starts Rubbing the Back of his Hair Back & Forth) So I figured I would try and....dye the very front of my hair green for a while. At least until the holiday is over and done with.

Isa: But once he tried doing that, with little to no knowledge of how to properly dye parts of his hair and without asking name for assistance, he somehow to get his entire hair green. Thus, his own stupidity has grown immensely stronger than before.

Lea: (Turns Back to Isa With Anger in his Eyes) OH AND LIKE YOU HAVEN'T TRY AND DID ANYTHING STUPID IN YOUR CRUMMY LIFETIME!!!

Isa: While I'll admit that I have done some reckless, idiotic things from time to time, but at least I wasn't dumb enough to try dying my own hair color for a simple holiday. Just goes to show you that your own stupidity knows no bounds to almost anything. (Takes Another Sip of his Coffee)

Lea: (Hands Shaking in Anger While Growling) You..... Smartass piece of-

Terra: Lea, come on. Just try and calm down for us, okay?

Aqua: Terra's right. We didn't mean to laugh at you earlier. (Smiles Softly) The hair color really does look nice on you.

Lea: (Sighs as He Turns to the Couple in Front of Him) I admire and am thankful for your kind and honest hearts. (Glares Back at Isa) At least you didn't sit here and belittle me for a couple of minutes like an asshole!

Isa: Love you too, Lea.

Terra: Well, look on the brighter side, at least the day it couldn't get any worse for you-

Everyone in the table turns around and see Kairi with a very surprised and horror look on her face.

Lea: Uh. (Smiles Very Awkwardly at Kairi) Heyyyyyyyyyy there, lil.sis! Good morning! (Chuckles Awkwardly) How are you today?

Kairi: (Almost at a Loss of Words) Y-Y-Y-Your hair.........

Lea: Yeah, but I don't want Kairi to know about all of tha-

Kairi: Axel.........

Lea: (Slowly Turns Back to Kairi and Immediately Gets Terrified Once He Sees the Scary, Angry Look in her Eyes)

Kairi: Explain.......

Lea: O-Okay, sis? I know this might be the most stupidest thing I have ever done in life.... B-B-But I only did this to save myself from getting pinched today! I swear to god!!

Kairi: So..... your idea of being green for the holiday IS TO DYE YOUR OWN HAIR COLOR!!!?

Lea: Well, I mean..........When you put it like that....(Chuckles a Little Bit Awkwardly) It almost sounds blike a bad th-

Kairi: IT IS A BAD THING!!!! I mean, seriously! You could've brought yourself a green shirt! You could've ask ME to get you a green shirt, matching ones even! NOT DYE YOUR HAIR IN A PUKEIST GREEN COLOR!!!

Lea: Ah come on, Kairi! It doesn't look that bad!

Kairi: Lea, I JUST did your hair weeks ago!

Aqua: Aww~

Kairi: Your hair was already beautiful as it is! And now you did all this and just.....('UGGGGHHH') (Makes her Way to her Big Brother) C'mere, you!

Lea: Woah woah woah, hold on a second! What are you- GAHH! (Winches in Pains As Kairi Pulls his Ear, Making him Get Up From the Table) Not the ear! Not the ear!!

Kairi: (Angrily Walks Away from the Table While Dragging Lea Along with Her) You are coming with me!

Lea: Jesus Christ, sis! Where are we even going!?

Kairi: To my place! We are NOT going back to town till I change EVERY SPECK of your hair back to their original color!!!

Lea: (Turns to Isa and the Others) Guys!!? H-HELP!!!!

Isa: Ah. I wish I could but....(Holds Up the Book he Was Reading) I'm not finished reading this book yet.

Terra: (Smiles Sheepishly While Rubbing the Back of his Head Back and Forth) Plus, we're not entirely done with our cup of coffee yet so uh.......(Slowly Shrugs) Sorry!

Lea: (Glares at Three of his Friends While Still Being Dragged in the Ear by Kairi From a Bit of a Distance) Screw you guys!! All of you SUCK!!!!

Aqua: (Happily Waves Goodbye to Lea) We love you too, Lea!~ We hope you and Kairi have a good time together!

Terra: (Sighs as He and the Others See Lea and Kairi Are Already Off into the Distance) We're terrible, aren't we?

Aqua: I hope Lea isn't too mad at us for not helping him.

Isa: I wouldn't worry too much about him really. He'll be able to get over it eventually.

Terra: You know, it still kind of baffles me how people takes this whole "Pinching Those Whose Don't Wear Green" Rule that seriously nowadays.

Aqua: ('Sigh') I'm just glad that all of our children doesn't participate in that kind nonsense. Isn't that right, Vantias? (Sips on her Cup of Coffee)

And with that, Vantias immediately ran back to the dark portal while wearing a green shirt.

This isn’t something I normally participate in, but, since I didn’t write much in June and shared hardly anything(something I plan to change in July if I can), I thought I should give some proof of (creative) life if anyone wants it.

Under the cut, a series of tiny excerpts, most more than six sentences, of different Kingdom Hearts pieces to be rescued from the limbo of “half finished chunk of something in a google doc.” Some of them belong to WIPs and some are from various other things started and then interrupted or....we’ll say set to a back burner.

All excerpts headed by a bolded header in the style of

"You lost or are you the new caulk?" The speaker didn't fit the typical profile of a tech professional, especially one that worked behind the scenes with the coders. Mid-fifties judging by the lines on his face with thinning blond hair so light you could hardly tell where some parts had gone silver combed to stick up as a compensation for where it threatened to recede and leather skin that said he'd worked outside in some decade past, paired with a southern accent that seemed stronger than it was with the effect added by the toothpick precariously balanced in the corner of his mouth. He'd rejected business attire in favor of cargo pants and a dark blue flight jacket that looked like they'd been bought in the last century, and the look in his eye was so fierce without prompting that Axel had to wonder if he was a failsafe for the air conditioning breaking down.

"Am I the what?"

"Caulk." The toothpick switched sides of the man's mouth with a roll of his bottom lip. "Fixing the leaks? The cybersecurity specialist? Axel Lea?" His impatience mounted by the moment. Working on the fourth floor would certainly be interesting.

"Yes, sir. That would be me." Axel tried to smooth the way with deference and the easy smile that rarely steered him wrong. "Does that make you...?"

"Cid Highwind. I'll be showing you the ropes. Now that you've seen fit to grace us with your presence." Cid continued to stare him down and Axel wasn't sure if he was supposed to apologize or bare his teeth and smack his chest like a gorilla to challenge the alpha.

Without False Hope ( First Chapter Up On AO3. More Info There. Akuroku KH/FFX crossover)

Axel was waiting for them, or  it seemed that way at least and Roxas didn’t think himself vain for thinking so, when Roxas spotted the lanky redhead not jogging himself but leaning against a pole until he saw the Crusaders approaching and then falling in next to Roxas just behind Xion as she bellowed, "Young Crusaders gather 'round,"  the beginning of a call and response chant that the rest of them would answer with a promise to knock enemies back and stand their ground or an alternate about beating Sin beneath the ground if they were feeling

Axel finished the line a beat before the Crusaders would have, substituting his own words. "...Eager for Sin to put you in the ground." Roxas's heart, which had soared for a moment when Axel had come up beside him and dared to hope that Axel's first words would be a version of sorry or an invitation out somewhere without other people, took a sharp plummet to his toes then returned to his chest angry at being mocked.

Assorted grumbles and shouts showed many others felt the same way, but Xion seemed to take it in stride, sing-songing her own improvised lines that continued the cadence of the original chant without missing a beat, "Young civilian come to heckle and stare. What would you do if a fiend attacked and we weren't there?"

Axel near stumbled but recovered and let out a short bark that might have been a laugh he wasn't sure he was allowed without inviting training Crusaders to make him pay for it, afterward rumbling in an impressed tone, "You, I like,."

"You should. " Xion shot back and her casual tone alone was enough that everyone else in the formation knew Axel was an acceptable stranger even if he was rude, and that they should ignore the intrusion. "I'm not sure I like you back. Roxas has been mooning and it makes him impossible."

Guardian Force (Akuroku. Axel and Roxas in the next life, living as NPCs in the world of/during the story of FFVIII. Part of my eventual plan to show Axel and Roxas living out every Final Fantasy game. Unpublished/First chapter never completed because I decided on Without False Hope/a FFX crossover instead)

"You often talk to yourself?" an insolent lazy drawl came from somewhere to Axel's left and he turned, eyes narrowing to see a boy in a rumpled Balamb cadet uniform lying across the second highest step, book in hand, vibrant blue eyes, ice eyes like he'd junctioned Shiva right to his vision, trained on him over the spine.

"To my Guardian Force," Axel explained, though that seemed worse. Over six foot of height and lean muscle and the SeeD uniform Axel wore at least enough parts of for it to be vaguely recognizable that he belonged to the elite unit, all usually worked together enough that there was usually no reason to be embarrassed by anything he let slip out.  Nobody would laugh even if Axel welcomed it.

"Thought you didn't like using Guardian Forces," the lounging student's voice was just as nonchalant as it was before, but his gaze was sharp, interested, and he spoke as if he knew Axel.

"Have we met?" Axel knocked the sole of his left boot against the side of his right as if scraping mud off the bottom. It wasn't odd for him to shift constantly even when mostly still, unless he was specifically called to stand at attention. There was an air of discomfort about the present action though, when taken with how jade eyes known for constant analysis on and off the battlefield, seemed attracted to the handrail of the steps rather than searching the face of the boy that had just spoken to him with familiarity.  Axel's normally iron stomach soured immediately at the idea they had met and he'd forgotten, to the point he couldn't even bring himself to try and jog his recollection. All he could do was force out his least favorite question next to 'when did that happen?'

Lollipop (Soriku and Akuroku. College AU/Modern AU. Unpublished. Sora and Roxas in an acapella group because that was the only way I could work out how to get them to sing and do choreo for songs that get stuck in Shaky’s head, which was the Goal of the Day one day before I got distracted)

When Sora said he had a new idea for a piece for the CrescenDudes' next performance, Roxas had been more than happy to volunteer to work on the arrangement with him. Sora was great for ideas, large picture and little flourishes that made a song a show, and he was, hands down, who you wanted doing choreography, even if he tended to get carried away and not realize there weren't many others with the dance and movement background he had in their group, but he wasn't suited for the musical side of sculpting a piece. He'd sing what he was given and he'd stay on pitch doing it, but he had no idea to weave songs together to form a mashup that sounded natural and created the right feeling in a crowd,  and he'd forget to accommodate  for everyone's voices or go the opposite direction and try to highlight everyone and have twenty solos. So it was up to Roxas to take his vision from neat idea to reality, and he jumped at the chance. He'd do anything at this point to distract Sora from dragging him into wedding planning for a few days when that should be Riku’s job as the other groom.  

Hourglass (Unpublished. Self-indulgent BBS Era--at least for this excerpt-- story about KH Squall/Leon and Seifer growing up in Radiant Garden and explaining how they got to be on separate planets and separate ages by the time KH1 rolls around. May be competed and posted to AO3 or just used as a base/record of headcanon for sprinkling backstory references in other pieces.)

Seifer challenged Lea and Isa to break back into the castle and come back with proof this time. He would have just called Lea a liar, but that would lead to Lea trying to fight him, which would lead to Isa trying to fight him, which would lead to Squall getting in the way, thinking Seifer couldn't handle a two on one fight with some chicken wusses. Then Squall would still try to sneak into the castle himself to see Ellone anyway--and she wasn’t in the castle in the first place...probably. Seifer would have to drag Squall’s ass out of there, and, if they got caught by the Royal Guard, then they’d be the next rumored prisoners in the basement.  It was safer to make it be Lea and Isa's challenge.

Lea took the bait. Isa, surprisingly, added they were planning a return trip anyway. Squall shot Seifer a questioning look, which he ignored in favor of taunting Lea and sealing the deal, "I can't wait to see you two hobble in tomorrow after getting your asses beat by the Guard. Try not to hit your thick skulls on the flagstones when you get thrown out."

Drowning (Unfinished/unpublished. Placeholder name. Sorikai. Supposed to be for the Sorikai Summer Event. Prompt: Drowning. Long one shot about eight times one of the Destiny Trio has nearly drowned and then been saved by the others)

Their first prototype of a raft had fallen apart underneath them in open water, the ties that lashed the planks together having not been as securely tied as they could have been--the book on sailor's knots Sora had provided was a lot more obtuse than it had seemed at first, descriptions dense and picture demonstrations too sparse. Kairi and Sora each fared well, each grabbing onto a floating plank to drift a minute and orient themselves after being plunged into the water. Riku was less successful, being fixated on saving as many of the supplies Kairi and Sora had gathered (coconuts, mushrooms, and bottles of water mostly, though there had been a tackle box that Riku's father would kill him for losing if he had to go back and face him, and that was what Riku was primarily focused on) and exhausting his breath on too many dives in a row without recovery in between until he was lightheaded from not taking in enough air in his hasty gulps when he broke the surface and increasingly imprecise in where he chose to come out of the water until he hit his head on the bottom of the plank he was loading the recovered supplies onto and went down without resurfacing.

No Set Recipe (Unfinished/unpublished.  Sorikai. Supposed to be for the Sorikai Summer Event. Prompt: Ice Cream. Kidfic. Sora’s mom is left with the job of explaining polyamory while making homemade ice cream with a group of five and six year olds.)

It was all Selphie's fault to start with, though if she was going to be ascribed the blame for the hurt feelings, she would have to be given credit for all that happened after, which Riku and Sora both agreed she did not deserve, even if Kairi was more magnanimous, so it became habit just to talk of the ice cream and the impact it had on their future. Still, the most accurate account begins with: one day when they were all young-- too young to even be allowed to swim in the water surrounding play island without an adult in the surf with them, if that gives perspective--Selphie, to everyone's surprise, scored the winning goal in the game of land-blitzball the group of them were playing in order to decide what game they would really spend the day playing, and chose, to absolutely nobody's surprise, house.

Everyone accepted their fate and divided into family units with minimal grumbling, phrasing which means that Wakka threw the blitzball into the sea and lost it forever when Jecht--the parent chaperone on play island that day who was five minutes away from falling asleep on the sand and typically didn't care what they did, unlike most parents who at least had restrictions about not hitting each other in the head with wooden swords or throwing sand, and was the favorite of the children for that attitude of freedom to make mistakes being a better teacher than rules--refused to go into the water after it.

Selphie, however, found a problem with Sora, Riku, and Kairi's family. Specifically, she didn't like that the family was Riku, Kairi, and Sora all together parenting a yellow coconut Kairi was trying to rock to sleep while Riku built him a bed out of sand and palm fronds and Sora cooked dinner for the household--a savoury stew of sticks, sand, and mushroom. She stood with pursed lips and hands on hips, and declared that their proud coconut son, Rekka, couldn't have all three of them for parents because that wasn't how things worked.

"Why not?" Sora asked with all the curiosity and innocence of a child.

Riku tried a more practical, solution based approach with, "Can we change the rules?"

Kairi was more direct and firm, her, "It does if I say so," leaving very little room to argue.

So, this isn’t DoD related, but some of my readers ( @nevquariel and @coolmegan123 , specifically) were interested in hearing more about the other KH project I have in the works. As I mentioned in the comments of my last post, I started writing it while editing Sorrow’s Promise, and have dabbled with it off and on since then, though not for a while. I’m not sure when it will get finished and posted, I may take a break from KH for a little bit after I finish DoD, but we’ll see.

This story is multi-chap but stand alone, not a series. It’s really unlike anything else I’ve written. I generally stick with at least partially canon-verse in my fanfiction, but this one is definitely an AU, and not just by being canon-divergent or having an original character. Nope, this is set in a completely different world, in my own, made-up era, and only the characters (and a few fun parallels to canon here and there) stay the same. I’ve tried to keep everyone in character as much as possible, though Sora is the most changed just because of his circumstances. We see more of the real Sora in the flashbacks at the beginning of every chapter.

TL;DR, aka the tagline for the story - 

In which Sora is Roxas, Xemnas is a mobster, Kairi is an actual princess, Axel is everyone's slightly unstable big brother, and Riku just wants to fix his mistakes...but what's new about that?

Starring Sora and Riku, with Axel and Naminé in primary support roles, Xion, Kairi, and Saix in secondary support roles, and pretty much every other KH character you can think of as the ensemble.

And now, because I love to spoil you guys, a sneak peek at chapter 1, below the cut. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Chapter 1

Sora stumbled off of the train car and into Central Station, bumping right into Riku's back.  The older boy had halted in his path and was gazing around at the grand building, and Sora followed suite, eyes wide with wonder.  There were so many people everywhere.  They had never encountered a crowd quite like this one back at home.

As they began moving forward again, Sora reached out and clung to Riku's shirt, afraid that they might get separated.  Soon they found themselves being swept out the front door and into the sunshine of Twilight Town.  We made it.  We're actually here.

“Where do we go now?” 

Riku glanced back at Sora, scratching the back of his head.  “Uh...why don't we just walk around for a while, get a feel for the place?”  To anyone else, he would have sounded like he knew exactly what he was talking about. Only Sora had known him for long enough to detect the hint of nervousness in his voice.

“Yeah, okay.”  Sora swallowed, trying not to feel too nervous, himself.  This is what we wanted, remember?  A new town, new people...anything but what we had.   

Riku led the way through the unfamiliar streets, pointing out various shops that they passed along the way, obviously doing his best to make them both feel at ease. Sora tried his best to relax and enjoy the sights, but his rumbling stomach wasn't doing much to help in that area.   

“Can we get something to eat? I'm starving.”

Riku stopped walking and turned to face Sora, a frown on his face.  “Well, we don't have a lot of munny left.”  Digging the pouch out of his pocket, he tugged it open and peered inside.  “The train tickets cost more than I thought they would.  So, we can get food, but only a little, okay? We've still got to figure out where we're gonna sleep tonight, too.”

Sora nodded.  “Yeah, I'm really tired.”  He stretched his arms above his head and yawned as if to prove the point. Laughing, Riku knocked Sora on the head.  “I told you you should've slept on the train.”

They started to head into a nearby cafe, but were interrupted by someone calling out, “Hey, kids!”

Wrinkling his nose, Sora turned to see a couple of older teens, one with bright red hair and one with blue, walking towards them.  “Are you talking to us?” he asked, pointing to his chest.

“We're not kids.”  Riku crossed his arms and glared at the newcomers.

“Right, right.”  The redhead waved his hands apologetically.  “I'm sure you're much older and tougher than you look.”

“I'm Isa, and this is Lea,” the one with the long, blue hair and a strange scar between his eyes spoke up.   

“You can call me Axel,” the redhead countered.

Riku studied them for a moment longer before dropping his arms.  “Riku.  That's Sora.”

“Great.  Look, we couldn't help but overhear a little of your conversation,” Axel commented.  “You guys new to town?”

“Just got here,” Sora piped up.

“Where are you from?” Isa questioned.

Riku shook his head.  “Doesn't matter.  We're never going back there.”

Axel and Isa exchanged a look that Sora couldn't read before Axel spoke again.  “Listen, if you're looking for something to eat and somewhere to stay, we know a place. There's this guy we work for, along with a bunch of others just like you, and he lets us all sleep and eat at his place, too.  It's a pretty good deal...a bit of work for him, in exchange for a bed and free meals.”  He smiled earnestly and looked each of the boys in the eye.  “What do you think, sound good?”

Sora cut his eyes over to Riku.  It sounded great to him, but as the oldest, Riku was always the one to make the decisions.  He could tell his friend was mulling over the offer.  Finally he nodded to Sora, then smiled at the two older boys. “Sounds good.  Lead the way.”

“Hey.  Wake up, sleeping beauty.”   

A hand was pummeling Sora's head down into his pillow.  Instinctively, his fist shot out and made contact with something hard, prompting a stream of curses from the human alarm clock.  Much more awake now, Sora rolled over, shaking his hand and glaring at Axel, who had retreated to his own bunk across the narrow room to whimper and rub his jaw.

“Serves you right,” Sora growled. 

“Hey, I'm just trying to do you a favor and keep you out of trouble.”  Axel gestured towards the rest of the bunks with the hand that wasn't holding his face.  “You're the last one up.  Again.  They're not gonna be serving breakfast for much longer.”

Groaning, Sora pried himself up off the hard mattress and fumbled for his black boots underneath the bed.  A moment later, he was up and shuffling sleepily towards the door.   

“You know, a 'thank you' wouldn't kill you!” Axel called after him.

The thought of food was enough to prod Sora into a jog as he made his way down first one stark white hallway, then another.  When he finally reached the mess hall, the usual din of clanging plates and murmuring voices met his ears.  Axel had been right, everyone else was already here. Hurrying over to the kitchen window, Sora cleared his throat to catch the attention of the server.  The response was a side eye, a snarl, then thankfully, a piece of bread and a spoonful of mush slapped onto a plate and shoved across the counter towards him.  Sora breathed a sigh of relief.  Just in the nick of time.  I really should thank Axel later.   

As Sora turned to look for a place to sit, he found himself face to, well, chest with one of his least favorite people in the world.  He lifted his chin to meet Marluxia's stare with a scowl.  “What do you want?” 

“Heard you had issues in Agrabah yesterday.”  The tall, muscular man shook his pink mane.   

“What's it to you if I did?”   

“Personally, I'm hoping that means you'll get kicked off that mission and I'll get it instead.”  This comment came from Larxene, who had walked up just out of range of Sora's peripheral vision.  He whirled around to glare at her instead.  “I'm getting really tired of Wonderland, after all,” she continued, chewing idly on a piece of bread.   

Sora's eyes narrowed.  Wait, that bread... It only took him a second to make the connection.  “Give it back, Larxene!”  He lunged forward to snatch it out of her mouth, not even caring that she had contaminated it.   

She ran a few steps back, smirking.  “Come and get it!”

He would have done exactly that, had he not felt a pull at the plate in his hand. Marluxia had a hold of it, and though Sora was pretty strong, he was no match for those muscles.  The older man wrenched it out of his grasp in a matter of seconds.  Gritting his teeth, Sora gave up the mush for lost and chose to go after Larxene instead, hoping to salvage whatever bread might be left.  He ran straight into her, tackling her to the floor.   

Before either of them could get in any punches, however, a loud voice rang out across the room.  “No fighting!”   

Eyes going wide, Sora scrambled off of the blonde and stumbled away as fast as he could.  No crust of bread was worth getting punished for fighting. His stomach wasn't exactly sure it agreed, however.  It protested its emptiness harshly enough to make him grimace as he sank down to the floor in an empty corner of the room, watching with clenched fists as Marluxia and Larxene sauntered away to find their next unsuspecting victim.

“Here.”  Sora had been so engrossed in his anger that he hadn't even noticed Axel enter the room and plop down next to him.  “Take this.  It's from last night.  I was saving it for later, but you need it more than I do.”

Sora stared down at the proffered food for a moment, then turned his head away.  “I don't need you to take care of me.”

Axel sighed loudly.  “No, I know you don't.  But you also don't need to go out in the field today not having eaten since yesterday morning.  I'm well aware that you didn't get dinner last night because of whatever went wrong in Agrabah.”

“It's not my fault that some towns actually have decent government in place.” Sora shook his head slightly.  “People see somebody like us skulking around, they tell the authorities.  I'm lucky I saw them coming and got out of there without being questioned or imprisoned.”

“Yeah, you are. I know it's unfair, Rox, you don't have to tell me that.”  Catching sight of the daggers that Sora was shooting from his eyes, Axel put up a hand in apology for the name blunder.  “I mean Sora, sorry. Now would you just take the food?  Neither of us really want to know what the penalty is for passing out and not making it back from a mission.”

Sora snatched the small bundle out of his hand with a grunt.  “Fine.”  The food wasn't much, but it would certainly be better than nothing.  Maybe, if he was lucky, he could pilfer an apple or something while on the job later.  “Thanks,” he mumbled with his mouth full.

“No problem.” Axel ran a hand over his wild red hair, the flattened spikes immediately popping back up into place.  “Try to play it cool with Saix when you see him.  Confident, like you know you're capable of doing the job, but not too cocky.  He'll probably dock you down to something more menial than territory expansion, but you'd better not show him one speck of attitude about it or...”

“Or I'll regret it, I know the drill.”  Sora finished off the food and licked a crumb from his finger.  “You ready?  Might as well get it over with.”

“Yeah.”  Axel pushed himself up to his feet, then held out a mass of black fabric. “Here, I brought these.  You forgot yours in your rush.”

Grunting his thanks, Sora took the cloak and fastened it around his neck.  On the other side of the room, most of the other soldiers, as they were unofficially called, were already lining up to receive their assignments.  When his turn came, Sora stepped in front of Saix, meeting his cold gaze but trying his best to keep his own expression neutral.   

“Roxas.” Saix's eyes flicked down to the clipboard in his hand, then back up to Sora's.  “Debt collection.  Twilight Town, east side.”

Sora blinked, the familiarity of that name sending a jolt through his brain, but forced himself to nod stiffly and pull his hood up over his face.   

“You don't need a portal for Twilight Town,” Saix sneered after a moment of silence.  Sora glanced back up at him, and he pointed to the door. “Go.”

Right. Nodding silently again, Sora stepped out of line and headed back across the room and out the door.  So, this really was more punishment.  Not only was he stuck with his least favorite task of debt collection, but he had also been relegated to the town that was so close by, you could walk to it rather than being sent by portal. A fabulous trek on a nearly empty stomach.

In another half hour, the walls of Twilight Town came into view, with the clock tower in the center of town poking out up above.  That jolt ran through him once again.  Several years ago, when they had first joined The Organization, he and Riku had often worked Twilight Town together.  But that had been a long time ago, back before they had gotten promoted to bigger and better locations.  On occasion after that, each of them would work a shift here, but Sora had not been back in a while.  Not since Riku...

Saira smiled watching the two boys sit together on a bench both of them so clearly happy to be next to each other while eating the ice cream they had both ordered at the stand in town during the Dream Festal the feeling of Ventus grabbing her left hand to hold made her turn to look up at him with a shy smile then once he returned it with a soft chuckle both Princess and Knight turned back to watching Sora & Roxas ...who now seemed to be arguing over something on the Blond's Gummi Phone while unknown to both boys there Donald Fizz had started to melt. With a long sigh, Saira watched how Ventus went running over as soon keyblades had been brought into the small argument while Saira started to remember how this whole day could have never happened for them if Sora had not asked her for help she still could remember it like yesterday.

It all started on a normal Sunday afternoon inside of Disney Castle were inside of the Princess's bedroom sat a bored out of her mind Saira leaning on the chaise lounge with her head resting on her right hand while looking out of the large stained glass double doors leading outside to her balcony while in the background she could hear how her instructor Clarabelle Cow was going off on another lesson of royal duties when suddenly the sound of a Gummi ship engine flying past her window outside made her smile and grabbing her dress skirts had gotten up and raced over to pull open the doors and then stood outside on the balcony while leaning over the railing watching as the ship had landed in the courtyard and a brunette had walked out of the ship's hub alone and that was very odd for just Sora to visit by himself.

⭐HEY THERE SORA! ...WHAT DO YOU NEED ..DONT TELL ME THAT YOU MISSED ME THAT MUCH ALREADY? ⭐

Sora blinked and looked left & right until he found where her voice was coming from and with a bright smile raced over to right under her balcony and cupped his hands around his mouth.

☁️ HEY THERE SAIRA ...C-COULD WE TALK IT'S ABOUT ROXAS ?! ☁️

Saira blinked and then nodded down at him before heading back inside of her room and casting a Stopza on Clarabelle Cow to make it seem like her lesson was still going on if anyone of the castles other maids had happened to pass by her bedroom while she would be gone then raced back outside onto the balcony.

 ⭐ HEY SORA HOW GOOD ARE YOU AT CATCH ?! ⭐

☁️ UH...IM PRETTY GOOD. AT IT WHY?.... HOLLY GUMMI BLOCK'S DONT JUMP! ☁️

But it was too late because Saira was already falling and all the while poor Sora was trying not to freak out as he rushed foreword with open arms to have the girl land right in his arms only for the weight from the dress having knocked both down over into the grass while Saira was busy laughing at him while Sora sent a glare at her once both had stood back up.

☁️ ARE YOU CRAZY DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT VENTUS WOULD HAVE DONE TO ME IF YOU GOT HURT ?!  ☁️

⭐ oh calm down you know Ventus could never kill anyone. ⭐

Sora stood in shock his face drained of color and then blinked.

☁️ K-kill.....YOU MEAN HE WOULD HAVE KILLED ME ?! ☁️

⭐ UH....no not kill ..but he very much would have seriously harmed you he has kinda become over worried about my safety after my whole death and weird resurrection, Anyway you wanted to talk to me about Roxas ..so what is it something to do with his schoolwork because I thought Olette was good at making sure the boys stayed on track with that stuff? ⭐

Sora had claimed down at the whole threat of death over his head and once the color had returned to his face he started to play with his fingers while glancing at the ground and had started to stutter.

☁️ N-no...uh..it had nothing to do with his schoolwork .... it's about h-how I think ...I'm in love with him ..a-and could u-use some help on h-how to ask him out?  ☁️

Saira smiled bright to the surprise of Sora and then grabbed his left hand and pulled him along threw the large doors leading back inside of the castle where they both had snuck into the tea room .

𝔒𝔫𝔢 𝔥𝔬𝔲𝔯 𝔩𝔞𝔱𝔢𝔯

Sora had found himself sitting across from Saira on a couch while Pluto had jumped up to lay down next to the boy the dog had by now placed his head into the brunette's lap the room was quiet until Roxanne had walked in with a soft smile and had placed a tray of Tarte Aux Fruits with Blueberry tea on the small table in the middle of them then with a bow she had left leaving both Sora and Saira alone with Pluto as there only company.

⭐ SO!~ Sora tell me just you found out about these feelings you hold for Roxas? ⭐

Sora had paused drinking his tea and enjoying his Tarte Aux Fruits and while staring into the teacup started to blush then closed his eyes and placed his left hand over his heart and softly smiled.

☁️ It’s funny how a heart could be so full yet so empty before I had saved everyone there used to be so much support from Xion...even when I had no clue about her and then there was Ventus who had been with me from the start of my whole crazy journey ..t-then there is Roxas...who I had unknowingly depended on for so much ..then there was even Vanitas who had hidden inside of the darkest parts of my heart ....but after everyone had left to go live there own life ...I had me wondering just what purpose did my life mean now ..and sometimes there would be moments that I would just wander off and find a place to sit and think.☁️

Saira tilted her head and stopped sipping her tea and then set the plate back on the tray to lean foreword when Sora blinked and then glanced at her with a shy smile his eyes now open and showing the happiness in them.

☁️Once I started to think about it the memory of waking up inside of the pod room back in Twilight Town came to me ...the voice that called out my name ..it sounded so sad yet curious ...after waking up the unanswered question of who it the voice belonged to had always been at the back of my mind ......it was not until after fighting with him at The World That Never Was and he had rejoined with me did it hit me that the voice had belonged to him ...after that during the rest of the journey there were times when I tried so hard to talk to him. But he seemed so cold ..and always responded with a quick " leave me alone Sora ' and that hurt b-because I felt it was all my fault. ☁️

Saira gasped and quickly got up to move next to him to rub the tears that started to slide down his face with a soft smile she sat down next to him.

⭐Sora ...Roxas didn't ever blame you for what happened to him ...yes at first he tried so hard to refuse his fate but Sora...once he had joined again with you ..he told me that there was never a place that he had been that had felt so warm and safe ...like a home he never had ...it was a safe haven for him ...he has no hate for you.⭐

☁️ Y-yeah ...I know that n-now...b-because there were times that I could feel it ...l-like during my mark of mastery exam ...we got to talk ..and he explained everything to me .....THEN ..oh my GOD SAIRA ..that soft warm smiled he gave me ...my heart just about DIED! ...and he held my hands! ..That ..is when I knew that deep inside me there were feelings for him.☁️

 ⭐Hmm and ..what was the point that set things off making you want to come and ask me for help?⭐

Sora blushed and smiled remembering the point he had first got a chance to have a few moments to talk with Roxas after everyone had met outside of the keyblade graveyard and just how light the blond was when Sora had picked him up in a hug while unknown to Sora the blond had become flustered at the touch.

☁️ Well it is because during my last visit in Twilight Town  me and Ventus were waiting around at the sandlot for when Roxas would be done with school for the day after a little around 6:23 we spotted Xion walking with Olette soon enough Hayner & Pence showed up talking with Isa and Lea ...after we all got caught up on how our life's had been the girls had went off to go shopping while Lea and Isa wanted to check out the new dishes at Le Grand Bistrot ..so that left only Roxas me and Ventus alone in the sandlot talking about how our weekend was going to be spent when Roxas walked over to me and pulled out a small bag of handmade  chocolate and said something along the lines of " Here I made to much yesterday so Im handing some out to everyone ...anyway so " And of course I was not going to pass up the chance to have free candy so of course I took it ...although I could have sworn that Ventus did speak up about not getting any and before Id knew it Ventus was running away from Roxas who for some reason had his keyblades out , ..W-Well later when Ventus and me were getting ready to head back home ...he told me that Roxas had threated to freeze his mouth shut if he ever blew his cover again. ☁️  

⭐ Aw Sora the handmade chocolate was a small sign that Roxas has feelings for you as well ...and yeah Ventus came here a day later whining about being scared for his life about Roxas killing him ....Anyway you wanted help right?  ⭐

Sora nodded his blue eyes just begging for some help while his face stayed pink.

 ⭐ Alright so my idea would be to start with asking Roxas to lunch at the Le Grand Bistrot get something simple not to fancy ...then walk around a little bit maybe stop at sunset hill to check out the view then later on head up to the clock tower and spend the rest of the day up there then offer to go and buy ice cream while you are out getting the ice cream you should go and get something synthesized ... an item that could show the bond you too will share from then on ⭐

☁️THAT'S A GREAT IDEA OH GOSH I ALREADY HAVE IT ALL PLANED OUT OKAY! I'd better get going then thank you so much Saira your the best Princess in the world I have ever met! ☁️

Saira watched as Sora rushed around to leave nearly knocking over the table in the process once she heard the Gummi ship take off a relaxing sigh left her lips...that was until Max found her.

Roxas sighed while checking his Gummi phone while waiting for Sora outside of the usual spot the blond was just about to head back inside when the sight of brown spikey locks came rushing around the corner of the ally once getting close enough Roxas saw his jacket was ripped and raised an eyebrow at it.

☁️ S-Sorry. I was late the train caught the end of my jacket! so all ready for that lunch? ☁️

🍦 If you would have been any later it would end up being a dinner date 🍦

☁️ HAHAA! ..PFFH Y-YEAH...s-sure...ALRIGHT LET'S GO! ☁️

Sora grabbed the blond's left hand and dragged him along to the Le Grand Bistrot all the while Roxas would stumble while trying to pull his hand back but would end up failing to do so until nearly three blocks away Sora would trip over his own two feet and fall flat on his face while Roxas watched and tried so hard not to laugh, Once both boys had picked their table out and had ordered Ratatouille & Filet Mignon Poêlé they started up small talk ...that was until Sora had coked on his ice cream soda drink and made Roxas laugh so hard he fell over in his chair and the effect had caused Sora to have soda leak out his nose.

🍦 Are you sure your nose is alright ...you did end up having only half of that drink left? 🍦

☁️ Roxas, I'm fine! ..but what about you that fall looked like it kinda hurt I'm sorry for laughing at you ☁️

🍦 Nah ...don't be it was pretty funny I'm sure everyone else would have laughed too...the Sun never sets in this world...but its something I'm used to by now ...but just for once I would love to see the stars at night 🍦

After spending most of the afternoon at sunset hill Sora & Roxas headed up to the clock tower to hang out on the ledge talking about what worlds each had visited in the past until Sora got up and offered to by ice cream for them both with a promise of a deal that Roxas got to buy next time the brunette raced off heading back into the main market first stopping at a Moggle shop and handing over his crown necklace and Roxas's small spikey symbol that he had stolen when the blond was not looking once, then left to buy the two sea salt ice creams after paying for them he quickly headed back to the Moggle shop and picked up the items soon enough he was racing back up the clock tower.

Once both boys were done and had started to watch the sunset Sora pulled the items from his left side pocket and was blushing a bright shade of pink while holding out the blonds spikey symbol with a shy smile.

  ☁️ I  got them both enchanted so that when either one of us is in danger or needs help it shall light up a soft blue color ...a-and I d-did this...b-because ...because ...B-BECAUSE I LOVE YOU ROXAS! ☁️

Roxas gave off the same soft smile just like before and leaned foreword pressing a soft kiss to the other's lips and held the gift close
