When it comes to Norse mythology it is always all about the Odin-Thor-Loki trio. But I don't see enough love for the ACTUAL god trinity of old Norse religion, the real Boys of Scandinavia. Odin, Thor and Freyr.

I mean most we get in terms of their depiction together range from "faceless weirdos in skirts dancing around"...

... to "Biblical patriarchs cosplay as Roman gods".

So far the most accurate depiction of the trio I could find comes from some dead website whose ghost was preserved by Pinterest:

Seriously, not many people explore their trinity, despite it being VERY heavily documented and talked about by scholars.

Though my definitive favorite grouping of Norse gods is this picture, because it brings together as this wholesome quatuor the two big trinities of Norse gods: Drunkard Killer, One-Eyed Scam, Loveable Twincest, and at the bottom THIS FUCKING GUY.

Reykjavik, July 17th

Today me and my mom decided we would go to the fallos museum, famous for their display of.. The male fishing rods to put it in a more family friendly terms!

(I've made sure to censor everything, so you can still enjoy the pictures I took without it being uncomfortable or innapropriate <3)

They had a lot of interesting displays of animals and famous people, even fun facts about said animals! But I was obviously more excited to see the cultural and historical parts that I was hoping to see and I was not disappointed when we got there!

They had many deities I recognized, along with other figures. Freyr, who I had prayed would be there made an appearance and I was overjoyed! Because come on, it's his thing. Don't you think I haven't seen the old finds of statues dedicated to him. 👀

When we finished I even managed to make a little drawing at the entrance where they had a drawing board, so if you see this little guy you've successfully found me! Afterwards we got some waffles and checked out another great statue of Ingólfur Arnarson, his crew were the first permanent settlers :D

It was (slightly) more understandable when it was cus Baldur (even tho hes probably happier with Hel anyways) died.

Actually no scratch that killing Baldur technically was an eye for an eye if you think about it.

(Odin took three of Loki's kids, Loki took his son, his daughter in law and then the same son again when he refused to cry to bring him back. Thats also three. Thats one of the reasons i excuse Baldur dying)

I know Magnus probably either didn't realise what was going on here or if he did it didnt register in his brain the whole story. Which, fair enough, directly after this he listens to Kvasir getting cut up by a chainsaw (good, its clear if it weren't for him Loki, Narvi, Vali and Sigyn would've been probably fine) and then watches Alex get thrown out by his.....sperm donor. So what happens to Loki is not at the top of his concerns rn but i really hope he confronts Frey about it later. Cus Magnus has been shown to emphasize with Loki on this. AND THOSE WERE FUCKING CHILDREN! AND THEY WERE KILLED BECAUSE THEY WERE LOKI'S CHILDREN!

Basically i want Magnus to yell at the gods the way Percy does. Because like Luke everything was probably WAS the gods fault.

And before you come at me with the whole 'prophecy has to happen' thing. Save your breath because most of you have no problem with blaming the gods when it came to luke in pjo and this is kinda similar.

Who was to say that Fenris, Hel and Jörmungandr would have caused ragnarok if the Aesir (mostly Odin) didnt take them from their home and seperate them?

Whos to say Loki would start Ragnarok if Odin didnt break their oath and take his children?

Or :

Let his mouth get sewn shut after he got everyone shit (Sif's new hair, Mjollnir, Draupnir, Gungnir, Skidbladnir and Gullinbursti) because suddenly oaths matter now, Odin.

Kill his innocent children (its not stated in myth or mcga how old Narvi and Vali were/are but the general consensus is that they were young), possibly made him watch said children get murdered (Sword of summer its stated by Loki that the gods watched in amusement as Vali disemboweled Narvi but that could be hyperbole) and had a snake drip acid onto his face.

If there was any good in Loki at any point (which there might be. He actually seems pretty chill in sword of summer) then its been snuffed out now.

Here are some screenshots taken from Too Human.

This game is so beautiful to me, I adore all the time and details they put into the environments and especially the characters.

I finished playing it on Xenia and I'm so peeved the game runs almost perfectly fine except for the fact it soft locks during a boss fight during the Ice Forest. One of the elevators mid-fight refuses to work... however, it did so at one point upon my very first play through, though it stopped at another trigger.

In the meanwhile, to circumvent that, I've loaded up a game save from my Xbox where I completed all the levels so then I could jump around them from the main hub and every other place works well.

During the World Serpent level, the loot obelisks don't work and you can't reach some of the secret areas, but I'll definitely take that over having another level be impossible to complete.

Anyways... game pretty.

Today is the norse harvest festival, sacred to the god Frey. While some pagans include worship of Frey and Freyfaxi within Lughnasah (one of the major 8 holidays of the year) it can also be celebrated separately.  Traditionally bread is baked in the shape of Frey or some of his symbols, and shared with loved ones. A feast is held and the food is also offered to Frey, Thor and Sif.

Last year I began Drawing the Norse gods as I was told they looked as a child! I drew Thor with red hair and a small hammer, i drew Loki as a Androgonous character with the ability to change gender at will, i drew Odin as the old mand, who Gandalf is based on, and freya as a beautyful catlady.

And here we have the group shot! With the fenris wolf behind them! I really love how it turned out!

Pine Lake Farewell: Swain

Stella kept her mechanic’s shop, especially after hiring Ginger Newson and realizing the girl showed promise and desperately needed a mentor. Under her patient teaching, Ginger flourished and found peace from her many anxieties in the garage. Stella eventually passed on the shop to her apprentice and retired fully to maximize her right to spoil her grandchildren. But she did still drop in to tinker with the odd engine now and then.

Leif and Natasha divorced with shared custody of the two kids. (While Natasha never formally adopted Erika, Leif had allowed her legal guardianship.) They agreed to remain friends and, though they never really were, did manage to keep a civil relationship between them.

Natasha quit the school system to focus on her art full-time. She never made much money at it, but the alimony kept her from going bankrupt, and well supplied in fine cheeses.

Leif focused on his farm and, thanks to a literal green thumb, was highly productive in it. He did try dating again, but found he was too busy for a serious relationship. Even with a Plantsim daughter to help out full time, a farmer’s work is never done.

Erika had a tough go of high school due to her incredible shyness and reluctance to put more than three words together, which the other teens often interpreted as snobbishness. She did not go to university, preferring to stay home on the farm. In fact, if not for her best friend, Emerald, forcing her to go out once in a while, she’d probably live quite happily has a lonely hermit.

Jeremy also had trouble in school, but it was because of his incessant pranking and frequent trips to the principal’s office with his best friend and partner in crime, Garrett Newson. His only motivation for doing his homework was the threat of being excluded from the weekly video game tournaments with his dad, and occasionally his super cool aunt...who sometimes would bring a sneak peek of a new game.

Freyja and Jonah stayed in the city to focus on their careers. Freyja works quite high up in an indie video game company, and though the work probably outweighs the salary, she loves every minute of it. Jonah sold his coffee shop when they first moved and now operates a local brewery on the border of the bohemian and gearhead sections of the city. It’s equally popular with both social classes, and even a few prominent socialites have been spotted there now and then. They adopted a small dog and are happy to be simply aunt and uncle for the time being.

Thor and his university sweetheart, Ivy Copur, married immediately after graduation. Ivy took a job at the hospital, while Thor ran the sound system at his brother-in-law's coffee shop for a while. But after their first child was born, he quit to become a full-time dad...which was good, because they soon had enough children to keep his Family Sim heart happy. He does occasionally make house calls to tune pianos, however.
