“Congratulations Pia,” Abe said. She pulled him into a hug while Thomas and Callum stood idly on the side. All things considered, he was happy for Pia. She was the closest thing Abe still had to a friend, minus maybe his sister. And since Lucy was a menace on a good day, and still best friends with his ex, he’d much rather pretend his social life wasn’t that depressing.
“Thank you,” Pia smiled serenely at him, “As much as I’d love to catch up, I have to hear about 50 more ‘congrats’ comments before the day is up.”
Abe gave her an apologetic look, and waved her off. Thomas didn’t say much to either of them as he followed his new bride across the room to greet other people.

You know what? I feel strongly enough about this super niche opinion to make it it’s own post. Robert Wightman did a decent job as John Boy but every time there was an intense scene, I kept getting worked up over the fact that I would never see Richard Thomas’ take on it. He’s a phenomenal actor and we were robbed of another Emmy caliber performance.
