Hear me out: Itachi Uchiha reincarnated as Bruce Wayne. Brutachi, if you will
Broke: Itachi or any isekai-ed shinobi would clash with Batman and disdain his no kill rule.
Woke: Bruce Wayne is someone reincarnated!Itachi could grow into
---
Okay okay so if I quickly round up what matches:
black-haired boy, broody loner, man of self-imposed rules, lying to keep people at arm's length, traumatized quiet thinker who then dedicates his whole life to his ideology, striving for goodness, sacrificing themselves by taking on an heavy burden, meticulous planner, genius who masters a truck-ton of martial arts and then create his own blend...
(Itachi’s memories carrying over is as good a reason as any for Bruce’s OP martial arts level when he didn’t even start training from a really young age.)
---
Of course, beyond those relatively surface stuff, Batman and Itachi appear to be at opposite ends of the morality spectrum: the idealist with the no-killing rule / the shinobi with enough grim pragmatism to resolve himself to kill his whole family, AND who managed to out-Talk no Jutsu Naruto.
Still, there are nuances in these two positions that make them potentially a bit closer. Bruce is an optimist but in a 'hope for the better, prepare for the worst' kinda way. he's Bat 'contingency plan' man. Also he’s not quite a blind idealist, he considered the other position (killing) when training under Ra's, and then chose to reject it.
On the other hand, no killing is what Itachi yearned for originally, but he was forced to let it go as an unrealistic dream in the shinobi war world. Also, his words to Sasuke as Edo Tensei show him questioning his deeds, whether there was another way --the right way. We can't know if this change of heart is because of what he learns as Edo Tensei (that Sasuke learned the truth and wants to destroy Konoha and Naruto Talk no Jutsu finally taking effect), or something he's been thinking about for a long time, but kept silence because it was too late (once the Massacre was done, best to at least protect the clan reputation).
Now, I can agree that if you have a dimension-traveling Itachi meet Batman as is, he would think that the no-kill rule is foolish and unrealistic (even Naruto wasn't that naive!), because all he knows is the shinobi worldview.
However, I'm proposing you consider a Bruce Wayne who recalls the memories of his past life as Itachi Uchiha when he sees his parents get killed -- who have already lived ten years of happy childhood in this world, with a completely different education than the shinobi child soldiering.
This world isn't peaceful -- his parents are the proof -- but it's certainly not as dire as the shinobi world. I don't think that no killing would be the first conclusion he jumps to; rather, that brings back his dream of being the one to bring peace (after climbing to the top by any mean necessary) on the table.
On the other hands, his education as Bruce Wayne put perspective on his past life's choices, as in: genocide is always wrong (nazi Germany example -- you can even sprinkle that with Wayne family Jew origins hc). Also, he has access to so many philosophy books. Itachi would 100% read everything that could help answer his existential questions and form his nindo ideology.
So I think that it's clear in his head from the start that he will do something. The question he grapples with throughout his self-finding journey across the world training under all kind of masters and the League of Assassins, is whether he will embrace his way as Itachi once again -- the 'end justify the means' shinobi ruthlessness -- or walk a different path.
Ra's extended hand is the incarnation of the first choice, and his final decision is to reject it, instead returning to Gotham to become Batman.
The Bat roots in Bruce Wayne’s childhood fear, and Gotham aesthetic—it has absolutely no connection to ‘Itachi’, and it’s on purpose: this is a new start, a different path he’s following
he’s a protector, as he always meant to be
he’s Vengeance, too, so those he protects don’t have to lose themselves for revenge (like Sasuke did)
he won’t let anybody die, because he can.
The Rogues
softness and compassion is his natural tendency, respecting an enemy/not judging people forced by necessity to break law and bend morality is a shinobi thing.
Still the shinobi background makes Batachi very good at compartmentalizing the respect and empathy he may feel for an opponent and the nose breaking he’s doing.
however this world can afford to keep the law breakers alive, so there goes all his soft heart’s impulse control
the concept of the rehabilitation system is like the incarnation of all his hopes, or something of a dream come true.
also he surprises himself feeling some sort of nostalgia of the Akatsuki when faced with the Rogue colorful craziness.
the Joker however, Batachi despises, because he does evil for kicks and challenge the very purpose of the rehabilitation system
The love interests
Now this is something of a hitch in my characterization, cuz nothing says ooc like womanizer!Itachi.
can’t picture Brutachi fooling around with models à la Brucie, because kunoichi infiltration and assassination techniques are a thing he’d be extremely wary of.
Maybe if you portray him a bit on the Battinson end of the Bruce-spectrum? Wearing closed-off goth weirdo on his sleeve
Talia makes senses, still. They meet when Brutachi is training in the League under Ra’s and pondering one existential crisis or three. The League in a way is an incarnation of the shinobi path to Itachi, and so is Talia: she’s strong, sharp, dangerous, a cunning liar but true to her word with a warrior’s sense of honor, and earnestly fights for a greater cause—even if Brutachi comes to realize that it’s a cause he can’t endorse and tainted with Ra’s megalomania.
Even after he rejects the LoA, there’s a nobleness in the way Talia is torn between love for him and the duty her father dictates—a dilemma that resonates with the one he had, once.
as for Selina, I can see Catwoman playfully flirting at Batachi in an attempt to get his guard down—which backfires into raising his guard instead, because of his trained wariness of seduction specialists.
still the BatCat chase puts Batachi at ease, in that the Cat is a pleasant opponent to fight with—her mastery of stealth and balance is shinobi-like, but she doesn’t try for lethal, so it’s a bit like a spar?
on the other hand, as far as Talia felt like a kindred spirit in shinobi philosophy, Selina is the polar opposite. Discipline, duty, sacrifice—none of that. She’s a Free Spirit, refuses to bow to anyone, and that’s it’s own brand of fascinating—along with the heart of gold she hides under her feisty impulsiveness.
grudging fondness and trust builds up.
so in short, Brutalia is kindred spirit and BatCat opposites attract.
Robin
The reason our favorite broody loner chooses to take in Dick Grayson is not that he sees himself so much as he sees Sasuke in him.
(cute and pure and then losing his family to a murder and burning in revenge)
However because he vowed that Batman would do different, different than Itachi, he lets DG in. No lying, no pushing him away, instead be by his side to help him through things, treat him seriously like an equal and most of all let him take part in the action
it so happens that shinobi conditioning skew a tiny bit his perception of acceptable occupation for a child—no qualms with child solider training (bar the conditioning to kill) because it’s useful skills that will better his survival chances, and Robin is the one asking for it, right? (A biiit too much of respect of the child’s agency.)
cue the unclear relationship between Bruce and Dick, in which Bruce is a mentor and a parent and an older sibling all rolled in one.
and then the Boy Wonder influences Bruce, slowly eroding him further away from ‘Itachi’.
Brutachi adopting Jason, when originally he would never has thought himself worthy/good enough/adapted to the caring of a child, is something only possible because the evolution Dick Grayson caused in him.
(and then Jason’s death is a wake up call, but then Tim barges in his life, and so the circle of Batkids go on, I leave it to your imagination…)
Now picture this: Edotensei!Itachi is Batachi who was sucked back into this world. Picture his words to Sasuke (that he should have involved him from the beginning and stuff) with ‘father of six to ten who has made some emotional progress’ Brutachi subtext.
Feeling the angst? Here comes the crack: the Bats send Jason with a dimension traveling device of some kind to retrieve their Batdad.
Jason ‘Daddy Issue’ Todd meets Sasuke ‘Avenger’ Uchiha.
Jason ‘why didn’t you kill the Joker’ Todd meets Sasuke ‘I will kill all those who forced my brother to kill (our clan)’ Uchiha.
They get along like a house on fire.
I will probably do a dedicate prompt on that last part.
(Masterlist)

After Chen’s tournament, Nya was uncontrollably tense around Kai. She truly believed her brother betrayed and left her for dead and that hurt. More than she was willing to admit. She felt so utterly betrayed, thinking her own brother, her flesh and blood, the only person who was there from the beginning to now, would so easily leave her for dead for someone else. Someone who was more worth it. More useful. After everything was resolved, she couldn’t help the way she would tense around him, or feel unnecessarily jealous when her brother started actively avoiding her thinking she wanted space like usual, even if he didn’t know why as he went to hang out with the others more. Yet when he opened his door at 3am and was swamped with an armful of a sobbing Nya saying he can’t just leave her like that he realised he may have made a mistake. And then started crying guiltily right after.
Sometimes Lloyd would look at the ninja and realise these were his brothers, his sisters, his family. And at one point, they left him alone as they mocked him. He still remembers the looks on their younger faces as they laughed at him, or the way Nya used to look annoyed with him, or when Wu would have no idea how to deal with him. In his depression he pranks them just as horribly as he used to and would lock his door and pout as he reads the comics he stole from Jay’s room with tears in his eyes as the others tell him to fix the messes he made. Then he would open the door, looking like a mess, glare at all of his siblings who now look heavily concerned, and hold a certain finger up before smashing the door closed again.
Kai would sometimes remember how he acted when he and the other met and would feel so down about it. He would go silent and start being overly conscious of everything he says and does to make sure he doesn’t do anything bad and wrong. It disturbs the others both seeing the Kai they’re used too and instead a much more quieter, hesitant one.
Morro constantly feels like he’s being watched, even when he’s all alone in a room he can trust, because he remembers the all watching eye of the Preeminent constantly laying on him as a reminder that he will never be free of the burdens and expectations that lay on his shoulders.

Thinking tonight about Caelus, and the nature of his loss and his grief after the Everything that went down in Penacony during 2.0.
Because Acheron, Black Swan, and Misha kind of knew of Firefly, they at least met her, but they didn't like really know her, and Caelus never even got the chance to introduce her to the rest of the Astral Express Crew. The only person who would have talked to her much was Sparkle, who is. Probably not really someone Caelus is interested in grieving with skznmsks
Anyway, all this to say, I like thinking about how alone poor Caelus is in his grief, because he was the only one who knew Firefly. He's the only one really mourning her. There's no one to talk about her with. There's no stories to trade or memories to reminisce with anyone over. It's not as though he knew her for long, but still. No one else knew her at all.
And I love the thought of all of this coming bubbling up, hot and acidic and bitter, during a conversation with Sampo, who Caelus just so happens to run into in the Golden Hour. Poor Sampo is kinda blindsided, he knew shit was going down in Penacony, but yeesh. And he just. Isn't quite sure what to say about it all, because he's never really encountered this before. His feelings about the Masked Fools are...a mixed bag, but he's been a part of them for a very long time, and when you're with a close organization like that, it's hard to feel alone, in grief or otherwise.
So Sampo sits there on their little bench that the two of them have occupied, and he thinks of his old friend April, how she'd died in his arms cackling and spitting her own blood after a heist gone wrong, and how after he'd dragged himself back to the World's End Tavern they'd all held a Fool's Funeral- which is basically just a big party where everyone gets really really drunk and reminisces and toasts the dead and celebrates their life.
He still thinks about her a lot, and he remembers how the time he'd most keenly felt her absence was on Jarilo-VI, the one place where he couldn't talk about her because he couldn't say anything to give himself away as an alien. The Fools still tell stories about her every time he goes back to the Tavern. His first toast of the night is always in her name. Even now, all these years after she'd died, Sampo is still learning new things about her. He's never had to grieve her alone.
Caelus doesn't have any of that.
He might never have that. As they speak, Caelus has no proof that Firefly was even her real name, or if she dreamt with her true appearance. He might not ever find out who she even was.
And just imagining that kind of loneliness hollows out a strange little pit, right behind his sternum, deep between his ribs.
So Sampo claps Caelus' shoulder and offers him a deal. Come find him outside of the dream. He knows a guy who can get them a lot of beer for really cheap-
("Is that guy you and your five finger discounts?" "Whatever do you mean, dear friend, I don't even know the meaning of the phrase, hehee.")
-and they can hole up in a bar or a hotel room or something, and get completely shitcanned. Tell him all about Firefly, tell him everything, and he'll tell Caelus about April and everyone else he's ever lost. Sampo will carry Caelus' memories of Firefly with him, and at least this way, Caelus will be a little less alone in remembering her. And the next time they cross paths, Sampo will be the one to bring her up, and to tell her stories, and Caelus can get to be the one listening. He won't have to be the only person to talk about her anymore.
Caelus rolls his eyes when Sampo avoids another remark about sticky fingers, but...ok, yeah. That sounds good. Nice, even. Thank you. Caelus bumps his shoulder against Sampo's. Sampo bumps back.
(They find each other again the next day, and true to their word, get themselves completely and utterly shitcanned. Caelus talks more than Sampo has ever heard him; every minute detail, every word choice, Firefly's every odd little mannerism and habit. Because Caelus wants to make sure this will outlive him, that even if the Stellaron dwelling within him finally burns him to a crisp and he really does up and kick the bucket, or even, godforbid, if he forgets, he wants to make sure someone remembers her. She deserved that.)
((And it takes quite a while, after that. Caelus doesn't see Sampo again until after everything has settled down. On his last day in Penacony, he finds the guy slinking out of a seedy back alley and all but runs right into him. Sampo happily leads him to some dive bar in an even seedier back alley that Caelus has never even heard of, and Sampo raises his glass. "To Firefly! Who sounds like she probably would have hated me at first, but I would have liked to have met her anyway."
And Caelus stares at him, almost looking startled, long enough that Sampo worries that he's read him wrong and brought this up too soon. He's halfway into planning how to talk himself out of this situation when Caelus finally throws back his head back and laughs, tells him that yeah, Firefly would have politely called him out on every lie he told, and all their conversations would take twice as long with the way Sampo is so full of shit.
And he can see it, the same way he watches and sees through everyone, that Caelus' eyes have a tightness to them, his knuckles are nearly white around the handle of his mug. But he smiles. He hits his glass against Sampo's far too hard and throws it back and gets foam everywhere like he does every time they drink because the guy's about as elegant as a raging bull, but those things don't lessen the genuineness of his smile.
The grief is there, but so is the elation, and those emotions aren't a sliding scale between one or the other. It is all of both and both at once, and that's what contents Sampo enough to throw his own mug back when Caelus makes a toast of his own, "to April!!".))

i may be the worst fic writer ever because i have like 4 different fics in the works right now, one of which i’ve restarted like 6 times and will probably restart again, another of which i’ve almost completed but have no motivated to finish, and the other two i’ll probably scrap because i am… so lazy
been watching the x-men movies and finally getting around to reading some of the comics. i love scott and wolverines interactions :) they’re so sassy lmao
that’s probably what my next fic will be about ^
it’s also really tempting to write an angst fic because someone told me i should,, but that would directly contradict my last post. STAYING STRONG!!!!

i see him being very soft for you, you'd like his aesthetic etc etc
he's a doctor, he's literally so smart but then if his competitive side is triggered he will do the dumbest shit imaginable like sending his ship off a cliff because someone else told him he was being a bitch for taking a safe route

The voices of my f/os are often quite important for me and I feel with Firmus it's no different ... First of all, I genuinely adore how softspoken he talks. Even though he rises to a righ rank, he's not boasting about like some other officers have the tendency to do, but is speaking rather calm and measured, almost quiet sometimes (I literally have to turn the volume up and down all the time in some of his scenes, because I want to hear him properly but the other characters seem too loud in comparison then). He's still able to raise his voice when needed, and will do so if he has to give an urgent order that must be followed immediately, but I think it's just not in his nature to do it without reason. As someone rather quiet myself, I really love that about him.
Another thing, of course, is the accent. As a non-native speaker I'm not proficient enough to determine what specific accent he has, but I love how that rolled R slips through occasionally. Not nearly as strong or frequently as for example Grand Moff Tarkin uses it*, it's more like a pleasant surprise that pops up every now and then. I believe it's called received pronunciation (any British people here who can help me out?), and I personally just find it wonderful to listen to.
*Say what you will about the character but his accent absolutely slaps, I'd totally listen to an audiobook read by him. Generally so many of the Imperial officers have such nice voices to listen to, because they casted mostly British actors for them and due to Star Wars being already an older movie, many of them were using that kind of accent that was more common at the time than it is today. In my humble opinion they should bring that back especially for villains >:)

your anti radi*apple rants and comments have me CACKLING and HOWLING. I too have a visceral hatred for the obvious Tumblr sexyman yaoi shipbait that I keep locked up in the confines of my mind
but if I were to ever let my rage let loose it's gonna be mostly tirades about how Lucifer is NOT Alastor's perfect counterpart/foil, it's Charlie. They're literally meant to be MIRRORS!! DONT YOU DARE TAKE THAT AWAY FROM HER YOU MISOGYNISTIC FUCKS
LMAOFJSJFIF TRULY seeing ra makes me enraged on a biological level it’s genuinely gotten to the point where people who post it are just blocked immediately for me. like, totally fair if you ship it! but stay a court ordered five thousand feet away from me
typed out something much ruder and i had to rein it in its not even 11 am but god god god the misogyny from a specific level of the fandom … even the people who make their own ocs to ship with alastor just rip off Charlie’s core concepts and then bash charlie herself. stop hating women!!! alastor adores her too much for this!!!

Honestly I gave up on Helluvaboss like after the third episode of season two (and Hazbin Hotel also only got three episodes): because it seemed like the writing was in the toilet.
But I keep getting recced critiques even though it’s been months since I’ve talked about it and 95 percent of said critiques manage to sound like utter rubbish despite the fact the show itself doesn’t seem much cop either.
Stop doing this tumblr. At least when you rec Zk despite me not liking the ship it’s vaguely understandable because I reblog Atla a lot. Though please stop doing that too.
