Deathmask is going off!

Because Aphrodite is right, gods fucking damnit. Because this place was built on the back of thousands, millions of orphans taken from places where no one gave a shit about them so they could come here and suffer and bleed on these steps until they turned into complete freaks and died for a goddess who won’t even have the decency to visit them afterwards. Because all of them—the Gold Dicks, the Popes, the servants, the bronzes and their attending, they’re all lying to themselves. And they’ll never stop lying to themselves, because if they do, they’ll have to admit that all of them had a hand into making Deathmask and Aphrodite and even Crackpot, and they didn’t give a shit about it as long as they could maintain their sense of fucking superiority, like the assholes that they are.

I love that scene in tkm where Wymack tells Neil he's going to make him vice captain the next year and Neil tries to politely decline (on the grounds that he'll be dead by then) and Wymack is literally like too bad bitch. This isn't a democracy and i say you're the next captain so figure it out

what's fun about shipping Tim with Dick, Jason, or Damian is he has, at some point, hallucinated all of them to comfort himself. even when he doesn't like them or particularly get along with them, he has to imagine/hallucinate them just so he has the power to go on. Tim's concepts of the Robin mantle and what it should be is so fun, because he respects the others through the Robin mantle. Tim worships Dick because he was the first Robin. he wouldn't be Robin if Jason hadn't died in the mantle. and a lot of his frustration with Damian is he feels Damian isn't honoring the mantle correctly. when you ship Tim with the other Robins you can't divorce their identities as Robin from it because Tim will always see them as a Robin first and that's so fun and fucked up. like.

Tim perceiving Dick as *Robin* cheering him on, not Nightwing, which is the version of Dick that Tim actually knows? that's just. wild of him. he will always view Dick as Robin first, his personal hero but also the original of the legacy. his love for Dick is shaped by that.

and then of course, even when he's hallucinating/imagining Jason cheering him on, it's *still* through the lense of being reminded how Jason failed? subconsciously believing that Jason got himself killed because of his actions, and that being a lesson for Tim to learn from? Jason isn't a person to Tim, he's a moral lesson about how to be Robin. any potential idolization he could have of Jason isn't because he loves Jason, it's because of the lessons Jason's death taught him.

and then, even though him hallucinating TIm is from the New-52, which makes characterization all kinds of questionable, i do think it makes sense for TIm to hallucinate/imagine Damian after Damian's death in an attempt to cope with it.

to an extend, he sees Damian's death as in part his own fault. and even hating Damian, Tim needs the comfort from this to cope with Damian being gone. he's angry that Damian even was Robin, and has to learn something from Damian's death and how it impacts the Robin mantle, and teenage heroes as a whole. like, Tim can pretend he hates Damian all he wants, even getting taunted by the image of Damian, but there's still an underlying love to their relationship.

i think that's just the fun of shipping Tim with any of them. you will never divorce Tim's views of them from the Robin mantle and how fucking Unwell he is about anyone else who's been Robin before or after him, to the point he has to hallucinate them comforting him when he's at his lowest. it's always going to be a little unhealthy, a little toxic, and driven by Tim's relationship with being Robin as well. i need more Tim being weird about Robin in these ships.

One of my favourite theories is that Tyme is the one either jumping back in time and/or being able to enter the dreamworld Great had created after his heart attack.

Of course, in the original timeline/original present they met under different circumstances, so every time Tyme 'flirts' with Great he knows exactly what he is doing and cannot believe that he has to do any of that.

And I love to think that the face he makes when Great asks about his name - that little smile/smirk - is because he remembers how Great asks for his name the first time.

And how delicious would it be that he checks himself out in the mirror because Great once said to him that he liked his body or that his body/face was the first thing that attracted his attention. Or maybe Tyme had been an asshole to Great (which makes more sense) and now the obvious solution was to use his body instead of his words lol

This series gives me a headache but all the possibilities are great (see what I did there lol)

I think there's a lot of untapped potential in the fact that Esen is, for all intents and purposes, a pretty normal dude, and the two most important people in his life are most certainly not. To some extent Esen is aware that Ouyang and Baoxiang are weird, but he has no idea about their internal monologues and just how fucked up both of them are.

There is so many posibilities here for comedy and angst. Either of these two could reveal anything about their internal thought process to Esen (probably half convinced that these are Normal Thoughts that Normal People have) and Esen's immediate reaction would be "What, and I cannot stress this enough, the fuck," because in fact no that is not a normal thing to think and normal people are not like this. Normal people like Esen would be incredibly horrified and worried if they were to hear anyone they loved express these thoughts. Even worse when Ouyang and Baoxiang end up enabling each other into thinking that their thought processes are reasonable. Esen would have to break it to them that no, it is literally just you two, why are you like this, do I need to call someone.
