Musings and ramblings
I'm assuming the rumour that Rick, and obviously that means Michonne too, may be appearing in another TWD universe spin off is pretty well known by now. How true it is and the credibility of the source is unknown at the moment and I am not getting my hopes up at all, but it did get me thinking.
Obviously, anytime we get to see Rick and Michonne is a blessing, it's a gift and something that I will never say no to, in most circumstances. Not only because I adore this little family so much but also because you know Andy and Danai wouldn't return for a story that is anything less than perfect.
So, it got me thinking that if it is to be believed, would it be a TOWL season 2, an appearance in an existing spin off or possibly one of the new projects I've heard rumour's are being talked about?
If someone forced me to choose between an existing spin off and a new one/TOWL s2, I'd definitely pick the latter. Not that I'm against them appearing in another spin off, if that's what happens then of course I'll just be happy to see them again, but personally I only watch for Richonne, I have pretty much zero interest in the other spin offs so I would only watch their scenes.
Another reason is the fact that it would be unlikely they'd have the amount of control and creativity as they did over TOWL s1 and we know how important that is to them. Of course, if Andy and Danai are agreeing to appear in another spin off then it's obviously because they believe the story and the reason the characters are there is a necessary one. I trust them completely and if they think it's the right thing to do then I know it's going to be amazing.
Also, I wonder how it would work timeline wise and logistically, DC is set quite a few years after TOWL s1 and from what I've heard DD is filming in Spain and s3 I believe is still set in Europe. So, for DC there would need to be a time jump, plus an explainable reason why Rick and Michonne are in New York. I don't know much about the series but maybe they'd get round it by saying Maggie calls for help but then why would Rick and Michonne be the ones to go?
As for DD, though it is set on a similar timeline to TOWL, that to me makes Rick and Michonne travelling all the more unlikely as they aren't going to want to leave Judith and RJ again, especially not so soon after returning, neither will they want to risk taking them across the ocean with them. I think the only realistic way would be if Daryl and Carol make it home at the end of season 3 but that seems unlikely to me.
More on the selfish side I guess would be the fact that the other characters don't really interest me and other reunions don't interest me. I would also hope that if they do appear in one or both of the other spin offs, that they aren't there simply in the hope that they will up the ratings.
I think there is potential for another Grimes family centred story before any other reunions happen. There's quite a lot that could be explored, from CRM spies, to Rick's PTSD and readjusting back to a 'normal' life, to Michonne's trauma, the kids and Rick getting to know each other, family bonding and maybe even the addition of another child amongst other things.
What Andy, Danai and Scott have got up their sleeves we have no idea, whether it's a TOWL season 2, a new spin off, an appearance in the current spin offs or maybe nothing at all right now, no one can say. However, I highly doubt Andy and Danai would come back just for the sake of it, there's got to be a good reason and it's got to a good story. They are the main draw for this franchise and where they go the viewers follow, despite some people wishing that wasn't the case.
Most importantly, the only people I trust with Richonne are Andy, Danai and Scott, no one else knows these characters like they do, no one else understands their story, their love story and their love and devotion to each other like they do. There is no one else I would be happy continuing their story but the trio.
They are far too important and precious for just anyone to have the privilege of being responsible for

My absolute favorite DL characters in no particular order:
đž YUI KOMORI đž
Never understood the hate towards Yui. Again the anime is a promo for the game and it did not do her character justice at all. The prequel and sequels for some of the mangas did her character justice. Sheâs a very kind and compassionate person, sheâs HUMAN and grew up in a church, sheâs a soft girl who doesnât like violence so yâall can only imagine what this girl has to go thru meeting a bunch of bloody thirsty horny vampire boys, who have severe parental issues and a bunch of other abusive behavioral problems, but she is very patient with each and every brother in all the routes and I love that about her, sheâd be a really good therapist too lmao. Sheâs an Angel, must be protected at all times. I wonât tolerate any Yui hate on this blog.
â€ïžâđ„ AYATO SAKAMAKI â€ïžâđ„
Poster boy for the entire franchise. A lot of people find him to be annoying, he is annoying and we love his Aries self for that. While Ayato is a menace to society heâs got a good side to him as well and for the most part knows right from wrong, more than some of the fandom gives him credit for. I also really like his character design, he kinda looks like a mean little bat. They give him a lot of cute and playful moments with Yui and I think thatâs beautiful especially in a dark themed game series, they have serious moments but also a lot of light hearted moments and I think thatâs important to lighten up the mood sometimes.
đšâđŸ YUMA MUKAMIđšâđŸ
First off, I absolutely love his character design, the messy long hair and heâs a giant too plus they gave him realistic human hair and eyes to show that he used to be human, maybe Iâm thinking too deep on it idk. I absolutely love the identity crisis he had due to his amnesia and the connection with Shu, it brought that twin flame connection back, I love those best friend tropes a lot, his voice actor also is Mako from Free! So I have no choice but to Stan Yuma. Yuma also has a lot more self awareness then the rest of his adoptive brothers and thinks ahead due to his past experiences, he knows that heâs a vampire now but still has a garden for food and has sugar cubes with him at all times, he uses his past experiences and acknowledges that it happened then moves forward he doesnât dwell on it too much.
đȘAZUSA MUKAMIđȘ
Heâs a lil creepy, and socially awkward at times but heâs just so relatable sometimes. Heâs very soft spoken and he a lil wild with his pain tolerance and some of the out of pocket shit that he says, but I think heâs such a sweetheart, protect him at all costs as well, even his brothers know to protect him at all costs.
đ» SHU SAKAMAKI đ»
Shu will forever be my favorite DL boy, he doesnât like doing anything but can do everything and do it perfectly too. He has severe ptsd, depression, and detachment issues. No you canât fix him even Yui realizes this and just accepts him for who he is because thatâs the only way itâll work. Heâs also hilarious without even trying to be, he says some mean shit at times but itâs so unhinged like damn Shu you donât have the energy to eat, shower, wipe your ass but you got the energy to completely disrespect all your siblings with a few words. Also his beef with Reiji is somewhat familiar grounds especially if you have a sibling that is constantly irritating your soul. I always felt like I could relate to Shu the most due to him having a hard time getting close to people after losing his best friend, he canât just get over it either, I donât like when people would say âoh it happened a long time agoâ yes it did but everyone heals at their own pace and itâs important to acknowledge that as well.

Dear Duck, I hope this ask finds you in good health.
Regarding Shadow, yeah Iâm definitely a sucker for grumpy characters with depth đ. Other than Shadow, I love Rouge and Chaos. Prime is giving Rouge attention, and it makes me so happy :))
I never heard of Ian Jr until now⊠but my eyes has been opened now. I-I have found the enlightenment Wukong has been searching for. HeâsâŠHeâs just so silly! đ€© Definitely blorbo quality. I must pat his head and stuff him in my pocket- Also, Knuckles is such a valid choice. You know da wae *nods* *click click click*. Lastly, I think we can both agree that Chaos needs more love. Heâs just a sweetheart protecting the chao. We must protecc at all cost.
To answer your questionsâŠ.I had a Sonic phase as a kid so get ready:
The only Sonic games Iâve played were Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Generations, Sonic and the Black Knight, and Mario + Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. HOWEVER, Iâve watched people play all of the other games (except frontier). Out of all those games, Sonic Generations is probably my favorite. In terms of shows, Sonic X is my favorite for nostalgic reasons. Iâve only just started reading the comics.
Ngl⊠I could probably go all day talking about my interests đ€Ł.
When did you start enjoying the Sonic franchise? For me it was around 7 years ago when I actually got into it.
-đ anon

An Open Letter to the Star Trek Community
To the Star Trek Community,
I write this from a place of deep respect, gratitude and compassion, and with hope that what I have to say will be received in good faith and be heard.
I am an immigrant woman of colour who found Star Trek at a time when I was at my lowest and stuck in what seemed like perpetual darkness, and it was this wonderful franchise and its powerful message which uplifted me and brought me back into the light so that today I can truly say that I am at my strongest. As such, Star Trekâs positive influence in my life has been no small thing. Star Trek has taught me to be the captain of my life, to reach for the stars, to stand up for what is right no matter the cost, and, above all, to be brave and bold.
And so, in the spirit of boldly going, I humbly call on ALL white members of the Star Trek Community â creators, platform curators, prominent fans and figures, including and especially Star Trek cast members, past and present â who believe in the underlying mission and vision of Star Trek to formally denounce all forms of racism and bigotry and those who uphold such abhorrent beliefs; I call on you to condemn the actions of those who have harmed Black and Indigenous people, and all People of Colour (BIPOC); and I call on you to strive to do more and do better for the sake of BIPOC in both the Star Trek community and in your own lives who have been subjected to racism. Finally, I encourage you to urge your supporters in this community to do the same, particularly those who are now finally waking up to the injustices perpetrated against BIPOC.
I am, of course, aware that the official Star Trek entity released a statement in this vein recently. I know many of you have expressed one way or another your support for the Black Lives Matter movement. I see you. Itâs a good start. But it is not enough. I need each of you who hold so much influence within this community to do this, to say once and for all that you will not condone racism and anti-Blackness from your supporters, fans and followers any longer. It is important for this to happen.
I know you support the vision of the great Gene Roddenberry and the powerful philosophy of Star Trek and what it stands for. I know you believe in these words as much as I do:
âStar Trek was an attempt to say that humanity will reach maturity and wisdom on the day that it begins not just to tolerate, but take a special delight in differences in ideas and differences in life forms.â
But many white supporters within the Trek community truly do not share these sentiments, and they have proven this time and again, especially as they have belittled and driven fans of colour like me away instead of putting the mission of Star Trek into practice and welcoming us with open arms. Both on-and-offline, there are those who have insulted and degraded BIPOC involved in the Trek communityâ and not just fans but creatives, actors, and notable figures of colour alike. We have been treated as inferior and dismissed.
I have seen and witnessed it with my own eyes. I have endured this myself and I cannot explain to you how hurtful it has been for many of us. I am a fan who has experienced so much harm from many white people I have come across in Trek spaces, at conventions and events, even among those I had considered friends, and for it to come from within a franchise that promotes love, hope and acceptance, it has been devastating. What I once looked to as a safe haven no longer is.
I can only speak for myself and from my own experiences. And based on my experience, my call to action here is completely necessary. Because something I never say aloud, something I constantly have to process and reprocess in therapy is that 6 years ago when I was 24, the night before I first met my Trek heroes, I cried bitter tears because I felt that they would not accept me because I wasnât white, that I was unlovable by even the most amazing people because I was not white like them. 24 years old. A grown adult. And I felt that way. So many white Trek supporters contributed to making me feel that way every time they overtly and subtly implied that their whiteness made them superior. I have remained silent about this and numerous other incidents for many years, but living in silence has only served to intensify the painful experiences Iâve had, and so I share this to stress the urgency with which this community-wide issue needs to be addressed. We cannot allow damage like this to continue towards BIPOC in this community.
Racism destroys the soul. Racism is why I hurt myself for so long and why so many white supporters have harmed fans of colour like me, despite their claims that they believe in all that Star Trek stands for. Racism hurts us all. This is just a small part of my story. Imagine how many more there are like it or even worse. As white people, you will never experience racism and you may not see the abominable treatment BIPOC in the Trek community encounter, but it is happening.
With the Black Lives Matter protests gaining momentum worldwide, it couldnât be more clear that now is not the time to find the middle ground on issues like this, because there is none when it comes to racism. Either you are against it or not. And I promise you, the Trek community does not need the support of people who go out of their way to justify any and all racist acts, because as we can clearly see, even the smallest racial microaggressions and biases can ultimately lead to murder. The desire to keep the peace in the fandom and franchise is not more important than Black lives. Especially because the truth is, as far as I have observed, there has never been actual peace.
We are presently witnessing a global reckoning in which many are finally starting to acknowledge the existing ways racism and white supremacy are upheld. As a community that claims to value all beings and embrace all differences, it only makes sense for Star Trek and all its community members to lead the way to a better future in the entertainment and creative industries and beyond, and to start doing so by looking within ourselves and our own backyard. We MUST clean up this community so that all People of Colour can truly feel safe and welcomed and be embraced and celebrated in every Trek space.
As I issue my call to action, I urge you to consider doing the following:
First, in particular for prominent white cast and creatives, please let the Trek community know where you stand. If you have not already done so, please let people know that you will not tolerate any further bigotry and racist behaviour from anyone. Please let your Black fans and all fans of colour know that you are with us. And please donât mince words.
Amplify the voices of BIPOC within this community. So many of us are constantly silenced and drowned out and it is time for us to be heard. Our presence only enhances the Trek community. Uplift and embrace us. We matter.
If you manage any online Trek-related spaces and platforms, it is your responsibility to moderate and remove speech that is racist against BIPOC. It is imperative for you to enforce stricter commenting policies and do all that you can to protect BIPOC from further harm. And for those participating in these spaces, it is equally your duty to call out and report any such speech you encounter.
Educate your fellow white Trekkies who donât yet understand why this is important. BIPOC have expended a lot of labor attempting to do so already but we have been dismissed, ignored, and cast aside. The onus is now on you to ease us of this burden and do the work given your positions of influence.
Hold yourselves and other white people in your Trek networks accountable to BIPOC community members. Make this part of your norm so that it becomes second nature to you, especially so these issues donât ever fade into the background as they have often done in the past. This is an opportunity to improve and get it right.
Continue supporting the Black Lives Matter movement even after it stops trending. Visit https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/ to find helpful resources, make donations, sign petitions, and to get more involved in this work beyond the Trek community. This work is ongoing. It is lifelong.
Committing to doing every one of these would be small yet meaningful steps in the ongoing struggle for racial justice and it would make a significant difference. So with great respect and love, I implore you to use your power and privilege to do this for BIPOC, for yourselves, for all of us.
Stand up with and speak up for all BIPOC fans, friends and colleagues, far and wide. Be loud about it.
Be as loud and unrelenting as LeVar Burton. He has always been at the helm of this struggle, has always been upfront about it, and I love and admire him for it. Follow his lead.
Naturally, fear courses through me as I write all this, but I think of Gates McFadden, a great hero of mine, who once rocked the boat and spoke up against the sexism and racism she witnessed while working on TNG and was actually fired for it. If she can do that, then I think I can do this regardless of the risk. Because I know what Iâm asking for and ultimately fighting for is right. Because what we can no longer deny is that lives are at stake. Black lives. And they matter.
Now it is up to you to do your part. Boldly go, in hope and with love.
And may you Live Long and Prosper.

Satirical Fiction: Book RecommendationsÂ
Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead
Spanning Prohibition-era Montana, the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, New Zealand, wartime London, and modern-day Los Angeles, Great Circle tells the unforgettable story of a daredevil female aviator determined to chart her own course in life, at any cost.
After being rescued as infants from a sinking ocean liner in 1914, Marian and Jamie Graves are raised by their dissolute uncle in Missoula, Montana. There--after encountering a pair of barnstorming pilots passing through town in beat-up biplanes--Marian commences her lifelong love affair with flight. At fourteen she drops out of school and finds an unexpected and dangerous patron in a wealthy bootlegger who provides a plane and subsidizes her lessons, an arrangement that will haunt her for the rest of her life, even as it allows her to fulfill her destiny: circumnavigating the globe by flying over the North and South Poles.
A century later, Hadley Baxter is cast to play Marian in a film that centers on Marian's disappearance in Antarctica. Vibrant, canny, disgusted with the claustrophobia of Hollywood, Hadley is eager to redefine herself after a romantic film franchise has imprisoned her in the grip of cult celebrity. Her immersion into the character of Marian unfolds, thrillingly, alongside Marian's own story, as the two women's fates--and their hunger for self-determination in vastly different geographies and times--collide. Epic and emotional, meticulously researched and gloriously told, Great Circle is a monumental work of art, and a tremendous leap forward for the prodigiously gifted Maggie Shipstead.
We Cast a Shadow by Maurice Carlos Ruffin
How far would you go to protect your child? Our narrator faces an impossible decision. Like any father, he just wants the best for his son Nigel, a biracial boy whose black birthmark is growing larger by the day. In this near-future society plagued by resurgent racism, segregation, and expanding private prisons, our narrator knows Nigel might not survive. Having watched the world take away his own father, he is determined to stop history from repeating itself. There is one potential solution: a new experimental medical procedure that promises to save lives by turning people white. But in order to afford Nigel's whiteness operation, our narrator must make partner as one of the few Black associates at his law firm, jumping through a series of increasingly surreal hoops--from diversity committees to plantation tours to equality activist groups--in an urgent quest to protect his son. This electrifying, suspenseful novel is at once a razor-sharp satire of surviving racism in America and a profoundly moving family story. Writing in the tradition of Ralph Ellison and Franz Kafka, Maurice Carlos Ruffin fearlessly shines a light on the violence we inherit, and on the desperate things we do for the ones we love.
The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
Following a scalding row with her mother, fifteen-year-old Holly Sykes slams the door on her old life. But Holly is no typical teenage runaway: a sensitive child once contacted by voices she knew only as âthe radio people,â Holly is a lightning rod for psychic phenomena. Now, as she wanders deeper into the English countryside, visions and coincidences reorder her reality until they assume the aura of a nightmare brought to life. For Holly has caught the attention of a cabal of dangerous mysticsâand their enemies. But her lost weekend is merely the prelude to a shocking disappearance that leaves her family irrevocably scarred. This unsolved mystery will echo through every decade of Hollyâs life, affecting all the people Holly lovesâeven the ones who are not yet born. A Cambridge scholarship boy grooming himself for wealth and influence, a conflicted father who feels alive only while reporting from occupied Iraq, a middle-aged writer mourning his exile from the bestseller listâall have a part to play in this surreal, invisible war on the margins of our world. From the medieval Swiss Alps to the nineteenth-century Australian bush, from a hotel in Shanghai to a Manhattan townhouse in the near future, their stories come together in moments of everyday grace and extraordinary wonder.
Quichotte by Salman Rushdie
In a tour-de-force that is both an homage to an immortal work of literature and a modern masterpiece about the quest for love and family, Booker Prize-winning, internationally bestselling author Salman Rushdie has created a dazzling Don Quixote for the modern age. Inspired by the Cervantes classic, Sam DuChamp, mediocre writer of spy thrillers, creates Quichotte, a courtly, addled salesman obsessed with television, who falls in impossible love with a TV star. Together with his (imaginary) son Sancho, Quichotte sets off on a picaresque quest across America to prove worthy of her hand, gallantly braving the tragicomic perils of an age where âAnything-Can-Happenâ. Meanwhile his creator, in a midlife crisis, has equally urgent challenges of his own. Just as Cervantes wrote Don Quixote to satirise the culture of his time, Rushdie takes the reader on a wild ride through a country on the verge of moral and spiritual collapse. And with the kind of storytelling magic that is the hallmark of his work, the fully realised lives of DuChamp and Quichotte intertwine in a profoundly human quest for love and a wickedly entertaining portrait of an age in which fact is so often indiscernible from fiction.

Hellboy AU
So this is based on the Hellboy franchise of 2004 - 2008, directed by Guillermo Del Toro.
Alastor - Hellboy
Charlie - Liz Sherman
Angel Dust - Abe Sapien
Original character - Professor Trevor BruttenholmÂ
Sir Pentious - RasputinÂ
Pentious is a priest who once served God but the evil of mankind drove him to turn against the lord and begin a cult that worships the two overlords of Hell: Beelzebub and Lucifer. Solomon, Pentious's former friend, a fellow Christian priest, and exorcist tries to sway him back to the light but he refuses and vows to seek vengeance on God but destroying his greatest creation: Mankind.Â
Some years later Solomon hears word that Pentious's cult has kidnapped a woman called Abigail from Louisiana and he sets out with his fellow exorcists to recuse her. When he locates the cult he discovers that they have found an ancient doorway which can unleash hell on earth but it can only be opened by two beings born of the common things that lure man to sin. One born of beauty and lust, the other born of fear and wrath. However these beings must have a connection to both hell and earth for this to work. Therefore the cult produces two children who carry both human and demon blood. The first one, the daughter of beautiful Lucifer and his willing human bride Lilith. The second one, the son of fearsome Beelzebub and Abigail the abducted human woman he raped.Â
That night the already born daughter and the pregnant Abigail (Who at the moment is in labor) are presented to the cult. But the ritual is interrupted by the exorcists who managed to rescue the woman, the baby girl, and arrest most of Pentious's followers. However Pentious himself escapes. Medical help is no where near and Abigail is suffering complications. She begs Solomon to save her baby no matter what the cost, not at all disgusted or horrified by the child despite how it was conceived and who fathered it. She dies giving birth to a son and Solomon (Despite orders to do so by the Vatican) cannot bring himself to kill the two infants who are rumored to bring about the end of the world.Â
So Solomon takes in the orphaned babies, naming them Charlotte and Alastor and decides to raise them to protect humanity instead of harming it. As he cares for them, he also opens up a secret bureau that captures demons or other supernatural creatures with the purpose of eliminating or reforming them. Charlotte "Charlie" and Alastor grow up together and are extremely close however as they get older the end up having different lives, views, and interests.Â
Charlie is beautiful and can easily pass for a regular human so she's allowed to be outside. She's ashamed of her demon half and is afraid of her demonic powers, embracing her human half and trying to fit in with everyone else but also firmly believing that in the reformation part of the bureau. Alastor on the other hand is more fearsome and can barely look human at all, so he has to be hidden from the outside world. He feels nothing but pride for his demon half, would use his demon abilities freely if not restricted, feels his human half weakens him, and believes more in the elimination part bureau.
They are both highly trained agents who hunt demons and the supernatural. Some of their living findings on the course of reformation are Vagatha "Vaggie" a demon who ran away from her demon family, Anthony "Angel Dust" a demon who was abandoned by his demon family, and Husk a demon who just doesn't want to be eliminated. Friendships form, feelings develop, and tensions rise.Â
But what really causes trouble is when Pentious returns to finish what he started years ago. Open the gate to hell by using Charlie's soul as the key and Alastor's body as the one who turns it in the lock. Solomon fears for Charlie's life and for what choices Alastor may make.Â

Throughout all the eastern and middle portions of the state, the planters very rarely reside permanently on their plantations.
This is an awful state of things, and, if the people were destitute of the Bible, and the various means of information which they possess, there might be some hope of reform. Throughout all the eastern and middle portions of the state, the planters very rarely reside permanently on their plantations. Doyal! He is opposed to the separation of families, and, therefore, wishes to sell this woman in the neighborhood of Camden Point, where her family ties are,âperhaps her husband and children, her brothers or sisters. flawsome bandits pt. 12 ⥠sonic
Flawsome Baseball Games
Hello my darlings! Hope you are all doing good and well! As promised, hereâs tons of fluff coming at you!! New character introduction, she is my OC meaning she does not exist in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Enjoy my darlings!
Warnings - FLUFF ALERTTTT
âĄâĄâĄ
When times get rough, the Wachowskiâs only know of one way to solve them.
Baseball.
Of course, Maddie had ended up letting Tom know about Y/nâs visit with her last night and Y/n told Sonic about the vision she had had. All of them were stumped and had little to no clue on how to help the situation other than to protect Y/n at all costs. For three hours after she had told him, Sonic refused to leave her alone and even sat outside the bathroom when she had to go. It was terrifying to think that the man they had beat after Sonic almost getting killed would be coming back, and even more terrifying that someone might try to kill their beloved icy hedgehog. Y/n was trying to do her best to prove to them that she was alright and that she wasnât anxious every time she passed by someone wearing black or red. But it was quite obvious that she was having the hardest time out of all of them.
So, the second they all had a free period in their schedules, they packed up the two kids, a bunch of baseball bats, balls, and mitts, and drove on out to the empty baseball field near the woods. The school baseball team had played a game a couple of days ago, so the grounds were nice and used. And if you looked closely enough, you could still see some trample lines in the dirt from where Sonic had caused the power outage.
Y/n and Sonic had assured Tom and Maddie that they could handle all the other positions, so while Maddie stood with a whistle around her neck as a referee, Tom crouched behind Sonic and prepped to catch the ball. The sun shone proudly through the skies as a gentle breeze ruffled the fur underneath their baseball caps.
âHere we are ladies and gentlemen, taking back the claim from that ninth tie with exactly who you wanted to play for the game on the line, Sonic!â The electric blue hedgehog introduced himself with a perfect announcer imitation as he took his stance and looked into Y/nâs e/c eyes. She smirked and stretched her arms out behind her back, tossing the ball up into the air and catching it just as it passed her nose.
âBut staring him down from the pitcherâs mound is the fiercest hedgehog known to Green Hills, Y/n!â She sent him a wink. In the amount of time it took for Sonic to laugh softly, she was already appearing on the other side of the field, this time without her cap on. She cracked her neck and steadied herself into position.
âHey! Hit it to the chick on the left, sheâs a real lunatic!â The other three watched as a very gentle hum floated through the air, revealing Y/n standing on the other side of the field once more. She watched as a butterfly floated past her, and immediately started to chase it.
âOh my god! Oh my god! Guys, itâs a butterfly!âÂ
Tom and Maddie laughed as they watched her try to jump in the air and catch it, beginning to wonder if she was still pretending or if she had actually gotten lost in the chase.Â
âThe one and only Y/nâŠâ Sonic whispered to himself with the cutest lovestruck eyes anyone had ever seen, watching as she quickly snapped out of it and returned back to the pitcherâs mound. Maddie blew the whistle, signifying that it was time to start the game and Y/n reeled back her arm, making eye contact with Sonic as e/c met green. She threw the ball, watching as it soared through the air like it had wings until Sonicâs bat slapped it back into the air. Everyone was stuck staring in shock as the ball sailed through the air for a moment, even rising past the tips of the trees. It was only when Y/n heard the sound of Sonicâs feet slapping against the ground that she took off to catch it. Maddie and Tom cheered the two hedgehogs on from the sidelines, observing with awe as they used their powers to their advantages, becoming nothing but electric blurs amongst the natural shades of green and brown.Â
By the time Sonic had made it to second base, Y/n had levitated herself up into the air in order to catch the ball. She landed onto the ground with ease and threw the ball as hard as she could back towards home. While they both certainly enjoyed the competition, she was also making sure to go a bit easy on him as she wanted him to win. She went a little slower than usual as she made her way back to catch the ball, checking to see Sonic sliding towards home. Mere seconds before she had touched the base with her mitt and ball in hand, he had already slid through.Â
âSafe!â Tom hollered, Maddie blowing her whistle behind him. Y/n and Sonic both let out cries of joy in unison. He sprang up to his feet, emerald eyes wide with joy as he raised his dirty gloves in the air in victory. Tom and Maddie exchanged a victory hug and Y/n took the opportunity to jump onto Sonicâs back. He staggered a bit at first, but quickly hooked his arms underneath her legs and began to twirl her around.
âYou did it! Youâre amazing!â Y/n giggled, her hair like quills flying around in the wind. Sonic chuckled, gently setting her down on the ground and smirking at her.
âOh, come on. We both know youâre more amazing.â
âNo, Iâm not!â Y/n scoffed. âYou are!â
âOh, really?â Sonic stopped short, getting an all too familiar grin on his face. Y/nâs eyes widened in fear.
âWait. Wait! No, no, n-â She was cut off by Sonic tackling her and peppering her cheeks in kisses. Y/n let out shrieks that soon turned into giggles as she half-heartedly tried to push him off, but he persisted.
âS-Sonic! Stop, haha!â Tom and Maddie watched the scene unfold before them, Maddie having to hold Tom back from punching Sonic in the face.
âThatâs my daughter, thatâs my daughter, where the fuck is my shotgun?âÂ
âTom!â Maddie chuckled, wrapping her arms around his waist and burying her face into the back of his shirt. âCalm down! Admit it, theyâre good for one another.â Tom let out a defeated groan, lowkey enjoying the affection. He watched as Sonic and Y/n toppled onto the ground, beginning to wrestle now, their laughter filling the air around them.Â
âI guess- hey, whoâs that?â Maddie turned her attention towards a young teenage girl who was making her way towards them. Her direction must have been intentional since there was nothing else around them for miles. She had light fawn hair tied back into a nice ponytail, two strands of hair hanging loose on the sides of her face. They accented her bright blue eyes perfectly and kind smile. A floral school bag was slung across her shoulder, dangling down by her hip and tapping against it as she walked towards them. Once she came close enough, she raised her arm up and waved at them.
âHello, there!âÂ
Tom, with an obvious âwhat-the-fuckâ expression written on his face, raised his hand back. Y/n and Sonic immediately jumped up from their wrestling, but continued to playfully jab one another in the ribs as the girl turned towards them.Â
âHello!â Y/n smiled politely, Tom and Maddie coming up behind the two hedgehogs as the girl came to a stop before them.Â
âHi!â The girl giggled. âI donât know if you remember me, but I was in your class a couple years ago, Y/n. You know, back when you were human. We had physics together and I was really sad when you left! I was just passing by and I saw you guys playing out here and I just had to stop by! You two are simply amazing!â She gushed, her ocean eyes filled with passion and adoration for the two hedgehogs. Y/nâs eyes widened as a lightbulb turned on in her head.
âOh yes, I remember you now! Itâs Spirit, right?â The girl nodded, looking overjoyed that she had remembered her name after all this time.
âYeah, Iâm Spirit! Spirit Pavin.â
âItâs very nice to meet you, Spirit,â Maddie extended her hand out for the girl to shake, which she happily obliged. It was quite shocking and pleasantly surprising to them that this girl was so non judgemental and happy to see them in their true forms. âIâm Maddie, and this is my husband Tom. Weâre Y/nâs parents. And this little guy here is Sonic.â
The hedgehog in question threw an arm around Y/nâs shoulders and smiled at her. âPleasure to meet you!â
âAnd you as well! Itâs been so long since I saw you, Y/n. You look⊠beautiful.â Y/nâs eyes widened in surprise. The last person she had ever expected to hear that from was a peer from school. But as she looked into Spiritâs kind, loving blue eyes, she felt a little heater turn on in her heart.Â
âThank you, Spirit. That⊠that really means a lot.â
âI know it wasnât easy for you at school. People can be really mean,â Spirit grumbled the last part, twirling a strand of her hair around her finger. It was obvious that she was much more accepting than the other teenagers were. âI would love to hang out sometime, if youâd like! I mean, if you want to, we totally donât-â
âNo!â Y/nâs heart pounded with excitement. Was this actually happening? Was a teenage girl actually asking to hang out with her? And it wasnât a dare? âIâd love to! You want my number?âÂ
Spirit nodded, already whipping out her phone with a big grin on her face. Once they had exchanged numbers and bid the girl a goodbye, the little hedgehog was wrapped up in a big group hug by her family. She let out a pleased giggle as she was enveloped in their warmth, snuggling her head in between her fatherâs shoulder and the top of Sonicâs head.Â
âIâm so happy for you, sweetie,â Tom murmured as they all finally pulled away. The four began making their way back towards the car, excitedly talking about the possibility of Y/n and Sonic trying out for the baseball team. Even though it may take a bit for others to accept them, they might actually have a shot. After Y/n, Maddie, and Tom had already gotten into the car, Sonic paused outside the door, glancing back over at the bleachers.Â
âOne sec!â And then he was gone.Â
Maddie leaned over her passenger seat and gave Y/n a confused look. She shrugged just as Sonic reappeared holding something behind his back. A blush slowly made its way across his cheeks as he placed his hand over his heart, and held his hand out towards Y/n.Â
A little [favorite flower] was nestled in his palm.
âFor you, Mâlady.â Y/nâs eyes widened in shock, a grin slowly taking over her lips.
âOh, SonicâŠâ Y/n breathed. Maddie let out an âawwâ while Tom grit his teeth, but contained his anger. She slowly took the flower out of his hand, making an effort to touch his hand as she did so. Electricity currents sparked at their contact, and she smiled, turning it over in her hands. Her heart pounded against her chest and the butterflies were going haywire as he slid into the seat next to her. His own heart pounded with joy that she had accepted his gift. âI love it!â
Sonicâs emerald eyes sparkled as he gazed into Y/nâs adorable e/c orbs. A comfortable silence floated through the air until Tom decided to ruin the moment.
âYou get anything for me, Bud?âÂ
âHuh?â Sonic asked with half-lidded eyes. He quickly snapped out of it once he realized who was talking to him and pondered for a moment. âOh yeah!â He zipped away and came back holding a strange white and brown lump in his hands. A very putrid aroma began wafting out of the little sack. Y/n and Maddie quickly plugged their noses as Tomâs face contorted in disgust.
âWhat the hell is that?!â
âA dirty diaper, found fresh from the bleachers. Just for you Donut Lord!â
âĄâĄâĄ
Later that night, a storm growled across the dark sky, concealing all of the stars with angry storm clouds. The rain pattered harshly against the closed window sills of the Wachowski residence, coupled with thunder crackling through the sky. Tom and Maddie lay sound asleep within their bed, lulled by the steady clicking of their grandfather clock and the coolness of the rain. Sonic, too, laid asleep in his race car themed bed up in the attic, his mouth slightly open to let the soft snores fill the silence of his room.Â
Y/n, however, was startled awake by the sound of thunder crashing through the sky. She sat up in her f/c bed and hugged her knees to her chest. Her icy blue body trembled with sweat as she glanced towards her closed window. Rain splattered across its surface, dripping onto the wet grounds below. A flash of lightning lit up the sky, startling her even more. Storms were always a strange thing to her, but tonight seemed like it was intentionally trying to scare her.
And boy, was it working.
She was already on edge about the vision, and now having a thousand different images about possible deaths via storm float through her head wasnât exactly helping the situation. She laid back down onto her pillow and squeezed her eyes shut, but the second another lightning bolt lit up her room, she shot back up. Her heart throbbed within her chest, the adrenaline and fear mingling to make a deadly combination in her internal chemistry.
Her ears flattened against her head.
Well, she obviously wasnât getting any sleep here. Quietly, she slipped out of her bed and clutched her favorite stuffed animal to her chest. Sucking in a deep breath through her teeth, she padded her way out into the hallway, guided only by the light of the cloudy moon. The fear followed her every second of the way as she paused by her parents room. They looked so peaceful, spooning together⊠She didnât want to disturb them. So, she pressed on towards the attic. It was a bit difficult pulling down the staircase without making much noise, but she was able to make it up into the attic without any issue.Â
As soon as she properly stood up straight again, she caught sight of Sonic sleeping in his bed. The second she laid eyes on him, all fear she had been suffering from before diminished completely. He made her feel safe. He didnât even have to be touching her in order to have that effect.Â
She slowly crept towards him, doing her best not to wake him up. The hedgehog was nearly at his bed when a crash of thunder startled her into letting out a shriek. She instinctively dove into the bed with him and clung onto the sheets, burying her face into one of his pillows. Sonic shot up in shock, breathing heavily from the sudden startlement. He glanced down on his bed to see Y/n shivering next to him.
âH-hey, N/n,â Y/nâs head instantly shot up at the sound of her name and she let out a sheepish giggle.
âHey, Sonic. Iâm sorry, I just⊠the storm scared me and I-â Sonic began moving before she had even finished her sentence. He folded the covers back and rearranged his pillows so that she had plenty of head space. He lied back down onto his side of the bed and patted it gently, a warm smile coating his features. Without any hesitation, Y/n immediately sank into the covers and snuggled up next to him. The two lay there facing one another for quite some time, simply listening to the rain hit the ground. Even when the thunder and lightning came back for more fun, Y/n didnât jump now that she was with him.Â
Sonicâs emerald eyes were so calming and welcoming that she had slipped into her feelings before she even realized it. Sonic hesitantly began to put his arm around her, looking to her for permission to keep going. In response, she wrapped her arms around his waist and situated her head on his chest once more. He tightened his arm around her and allowed himself to grin the dopiest grin he could manage. Their hearts pounded in sync and the butterflies were going crazy in their ice-cream stuffed stomachs as they laid there.Â
â...Sonic?â
âYeah?âÂ
A deep blush rose across Y/nâs cheeks as she traced images across Sonicâs chest. âT-this might sound weird, but um⊠h-have you ever kissed any-anyone before?âÂ
Sonicâs eyes widened, but soon turned back to their loving half-lidded position as he glanced down at his partner. She couldnât see it, but he was smiling knowingly. âNo. I havenât. Have you?âÂ
Y/n slowly shook her head. Her cheeks felt like they were on fire. Was it getting hot in here? âI-I just, I guess I was just worried t-that youâŠâ She trailed off, a million thoughts racing through her mind. Her grip around him tightened as Sonic let out a small, happy sigh. She was absolutely adorable when she was flustered. And even when she was making no sense, he understood her completely.Â
âYouâre the only one for me, Y/n.âÂ
And once more, she felt like puking up rainbows. Her heart soared onto cloud nine as she snuggled even closer into him to let him know that the feeling was mutual. A comfortable silence fell over them once more as they listened to the rain slowly begin to die down. Even well after the rain had stopped, the two remained right where they were.Â
It didnât take too long until they fell asleep in each otherâs embrace.

>>warning/s: blindfold, light bondage, quick fellatio, cheating, dirty talking, vulgar language, uhh implied creampie??? and breeding kink bc idk its growing on me im probably having existential crisis
a/n: rj gets carried away pt 2 ft doyoung
-
Kim Doyoung was a powerful man; the CEO of his own company at the age of 26, had multi-million franchises across the globe. He had everything; a mansion on an acre land he owned, vacation houses in each province of the country, the latest models of sportscars parked in his garage, a beautiful wife of 5 yearsâyou would include âloving,â but that was only used for publicity.
When Doyoung had married his wife, he had no say in the matter. It was pre-arranged by their families, a contract made by their grandfathers. He didnât care at first, itâs not like he was in a former relationship or even wanted one. For the first few months after their wedding, they did try to work things out; actually try to fall in love with one another, but in the end, as he had come to find out, she was only in it for the sake of making her family happy.
They had sex, plenty of it. All vanilla and boringâDoyoung wanted more, but she wouldnât even let him hold her wrists down for a few goddamn seconds. The sex stopped when he found out about her lover: a high school sweetheart she was forced to leave because she had to marry him. And since that day, theyâve established that their relationship was purely just a piece of paper, that their status of husband and wife is nothing but a title to the public and their families.
You only came to the picture when Doyoung had made a surprise visit to one of his hotels in Busan. He parked his matte black Audi s8 beside a white Jeep Wrangler.
He steps out of his car to stretch his limbs and hears squeaking from behind him. As he turns, he sees you through the rolled down window of the Jeep; panting and sweaty, hair disheveled.
It doesnât take long for him to realize you were riding someoneâand from the look of disdain and annoyance on your face, it wasnât going to knock your socks off. You notice him and he doesnât move a muscle, unashamed of being caught watching you. You didnât even care that he had seen you because the man beneath you was comingâquite loudly and finished with a smile on his face and a scowl on yours.
When you look back up to the man that had been watching you, he was gone. You almost felt embarrassed, only because he had to watch such a pathetic excuse for sex.
âYou didnât have to walk me to the elevator.â You quipped, clicking your heels against the polished floors.
âIf I didnât have to go to this emergency meeting, Iâd walk you all the way up to your room.â
You spare him a sarcastic smile, âIf it really was an emergency, you would have just dropped me off.â You turn the corner to where the elevators were and found the man from earlier. He has his hands in his pockets and gaze to the floor.
âCan I see you later tonight?â
âNope.â You snapped, âBeauty rest for the wedding.â
The elevator doors open after a âdingâ and you briskly walk inside after the man.
âHow about afterââ
âIâm driving back to Seoul next morning. Iâd rather not.â You swipe your keycard on the sensor and press your floor number.
The man you were with frowns, âOh, well, then I guess Iâll see you at the wedding.â
You forced a smile at him before the elevator doors close and once they do, you groan, rolling your eyes until they land to the male who had witnessed everything. âSorry you just had to watch the worst free live porn ever.â
He smirks, shrugging âI canât say Iâve seen worse. I was wondering why a Seoul city girl like you would be with a Busan boy like him, he must be your partner for this wedding youâve mentioned.â
âOh, you know how it goes, single bridesmaids and groomsmen, yada yada, getting lucky and all thatâwell, he did. I did not, I definitely did not.â Youâre reminded of the ache between your legs that you had to deal with back in your suite.
The elevator dings again and it opens to the lobby; no one gets in and you raise a brow at the man. âArenât you gonna get off?â
He looks at you, contemplatively.
The doors close and the elevator starts making its way up to bring you to your floor.
âI work for this hotel. I think itâs only right I escort a customer to their floor, especially after such a traumatic encounter that happened within the building, and make sure you have everything you need.â
âTo say you work for this hotel is an understatement, Mr. Kim.â You laugh, finally recognizing his face under proper lighting.
âSo you know who I am.â
âThat handsome face of yours has been on the news a few times, so yes, I do know you.â You hum, warily eyeing him, âYour wife and I went to the same high school. Sheâs my junior.â
Doyoung scoffs, âThen you must know her lover, they were high school sweethearts.â
You look up at him, wide-eyed. âI-I do⊠Iâm sorry.â
âMy wife and I have come to terms that weâre only binded by a marriage contract. Weâre just waiting for the right time to file for divorce. Thereâs no need to appologize.â The elevator doors open and he places a finger against the button to keep it that way, politely smiling at you. âI hope you enjoy the rest of your stay, MissâŠâ
You say your name and begin to step out of the lift.
He repeats your name with a slight purr. âIf thereâs anything else you need, let me know.â
Everything began there; and six months later you donât regret the encounter. You can still remember how you came undone once from his fingers, another with his mouth, and three consecutive orgasms with his cock. Even though you were completely spent, sensitive and overstimulated, you wanted more.
Doyoung gave you more and more every time you meet. You didnât need an exchange of words to know what your bodies wanted; he wants complete control while you wanted to be used.
âI donât understand how the men before me let you go to waste. Theyâre idiots.â He grumbles, taking off his wristwatch.
You chuckled, the little vibrations from your throat stimulating his cock as you sucked it. He had called you over to his house in Anyang when he found out you had a meeting nearby; that had been cancelled due clashing schedules so here you were, on your knees before him.
âThey didnât let me go. I let them go. Theyâre idiots for not knowing how to pleasure me even though itâs the simple concept of âgive and take,â hmph.â You quietly say after pulling away from his shaft, pumping it with both your hands. âWhat about your wife? Didnât she find pleasure in this?â
âI guess itâs different if youâre in love with someone else.â Doyoung tosses the accessory aside as if it didnât cost a hundred thousand dollars and starts working on untying his tie. âAlso, can you stop calling her my wife?â
âShe still is, though, until you file for divorce and until then, Iâm still technically your mistress.â You push his cock closer to his stomach and lean forward to kiss his balls. âI thought you two had the papers already?â
âOur parents want a grandchildâand while both our grandfathers are still alive, theyâre more than eager to hold their great grandchildren before they die.â He groans and you donât know if itâs because of his dilemma or your mouth playfully nipping at his testes. âAnd of course they had to mention that when we were about to announce our divorce.â
You kiss his cock one more time before rising to your feet, âIâd offer you help, but I donât know how aside from letting you use my body as a stress reliever.â
âItâs enough, trust me.â He smiles, tipping your chin with his finger and kissing your forehead, âOpen your mouth.â
You look at him incredulously at his request, hesitantly parting your lips.
He jams his rolled up necktie in your mouth, holding you steady by your nape. The sweet smile on his face was now replaced with the expression of what you can only describe as the face of a predator, which meant you were his prey. âEnough talking. Do what you do best, sweetheart, and be a good slut for me.â
He pushes you over the bed and pulls your tight shirt up your body, leaving it around your eyes and kept your arms by your head. You feel him palm your breasts for a moment before the strapless bra you wore came off.
There was a soft sigh before you felt his mouth closing on your left nipple while fingers tweaked the other. You arch yourself towards him when it ended so quickly, his mouth leaving your skin with a pop before you feel him working to get your pants off.
After your slacks came off with your panties, you lay there; waiting with a necktie in your mouth and a shirt above your eyes. You knew what he was doing. He was standing there by the bed, shedding the remainder of his clothing and watching you; daring you to do something he wouldnât like so he could punish you for it. But tonight you wanted to be rewarded.
He probably hoped youâd grow impatient and shrug your shirt completely off, but instead he watched you spread your legs apart and invited him to stare at your pussy, pink and sopping with anticipation.
You feel a lone finger quickly trail from your entrance to your clit, eliciting a gasp muffled by your gag and your hips lifting upwards to chase the contact.
âIf I had you like this everyday, with that tight pussy of yours just waiting to be pounded by my cock, Iâd be a father in no time.â He scoffs and you hear an appreciative hum that tells you he brought his finger to his lips.
The mattress by your feet dips down and you feel his hands run along your inner thighs, teasing you as he avoids contact where you wanted it the most.
You whine through your gag but he seems to ignore it, moving your legs so they would be draped over his thighs.
âIâve always been one to use protection, but I remember the first time we met. You were just begging to be fucked by me, crying about not caring if I had a condom on or not.â His weight shifts on the bed again and then you feel the tip of his member pushing into you. Youâre moaning through his necktie, jaw already aching at being jammed open for so long. âI came twice in you that day and you know what, sweetheart?â
He starts to thrust all of a sudden, pounding into you so quickly that your walls struggle to adjust to his girth and are rubbed raw. You feel his fingers digging into your hipbone with a bruising grip as he surges himself into you repeatedly. âIt. felt. so. fucking. good.â
You cry as loud as you can through your gag, wanting to move your own hips to meet his thrusts.
âIâve never thought about kids, [Y/N]. Have you?â He hisses, switching the angle of how his cock enters you and causing you to moan again. With your lack of response, he shakes your hips against him, âAnswer me.â
You vehemently shake your head, tempted to take your shirt off so you could look at him, but you kept them overhead and held your forearms. He resumes his actions, letting go of your hips to fondle your chest.
âGod, I love your pussy, sweetheart. Always so tight, no matter how much I fuck you. So fucking deliciousâalways so wet when I see it, always eager to take my cock. Your pussy is just perfect for my cock, donât you agree, sweetheart?â
Youâre breathing heavily through your nose now, almost choking on your saliva when you tried to breathe through your mouth. You shake your head.
âNo?â
You mumbled back something, but obviously it was obstructed by the makeshift gag. You do your best to swallow the saliva thatâs accumulated in your mouth despite the necktie and repeat yourself. âYours.â
âMine?â Doyoung repeats, and in your head you can see the confused expression he tends to make, âAre you trying to say this pussy is mine, sweetheart?â
You nod, writhing under his hold and finally able to meet his thrusts with your own fervent movements.
âReally? This pussy is mine, sweetheart?â
You nod once more and he stills, length halfway inside of you. His hands are no longer on your boobs, but resting back on your hips. Before you can complain about his inactivity, he drives himself back into you with a force strong enough to send your body further up the bed. Itâs creaking this time with the headboard hitting the wall and creating the softest thud.
Doyoung brings his thumb over your clit, rubbing furious circles upon it, relentlessly, until youâre crying out loud and struggling.
Unable to keep still, you try to remove your shirt but he catches you, pushing your arms back down above your head.
âIf this pussy is mine, sweetheart, I would want nothing more than fill it up with my cum. Is that okay with you?â
You shake your head in agreement.
He groans, continuously thrusting. âAnd if I get you pregnant, sweetheart? What will you do, huh? Will you keep it?â
You donât know how but you were able to scream out a discernible and resounding âYes!â
Without ceasing his movements, he tears your shirt off from your face and limbs, and your eyes adjust to the sudden brightness. When you finally focus on him; with his eyes lustfully glaring down at you, jaw strained, and his entire body tense as he brings you closer to your climax, he asks through gritted teeth, âDo you want me to get you pregnant, [Y/N]?â
He fishes his necktie out of your mouth, disposing the damp thing on the floor, and cluthes your jaw to pull you in for a kiss.
You break off the kiss, placing your hands on his hot skin, âI want you to fuck me until I do.â
Doyoung growls, rolling your bodies until you were on top. âThen go get it for yourself, sweetheart. Chase that chance to have my children.â
Like a maniac, you ride him; gyrating your hips, clenching around him. The beautiful sound of his moans is music to your ears and merely fuels you to move faster. You reach your climax first, throwing your head backwards and jerking erratically above him; which triggers his own, ejaculating deep within you.
Your lower abdomen feels hot as you calm down from your high, still gently moving your hips despite being sensitive to ride his orgasm out, each sporadic squirt of his seed making you flinch.
With his cock still seated comfortably inside of you, you feel yourself fall backwards, making him sit up and guide you gently down the bed and lay between his legs.
âArenât you on birth control?â He asks, voice completely raspy and out of breath.
âNo.â You confessed, âThey make my boobs too sensitive. I just take âmorning afterâ pills after we fuck.â
âDo you plan to take them tomorrow?â
âDo you really want kids?â
He shrugs and you snort, âDoyoung, will you even take responsibility if I get pregnant?â
âOf course I will! What do you take me for?â He exclaims, obviously offended. He smooths his hands over your thighs, âI just donât have experiences with kids to know how Iâll fare with them. But I do know Iâd like an heir to my company.â
You gesture for him to help you sit up, both of you wincing when he does as your bodies are still connected. âIâll take the pill, only because it feels wrong to try and make a baby when your parents want you to have one with your wife.â
âAgain, can you stop calling her that? She doesnât even call me her husband anymore. Also, I never said they wanted me to have a kid with her. Technically, they never specified who the mother of their grandkids can beâtheyâre only assuming her because they donât know whatâs really going on between us.â
âSo no pill?â
âItâs up to you, really.â He chuckles, nuzzling his nose against your cheek.
âIs that why youâre still hard?â You lick your lips at how his dick is throbbing inside of you.
âIâm telling you,â Doyoung sniggers into your ear, âThereâs just something about your pussy that makes me want to fill it up.â

Hello one and all, itâs once again time for my seasonal dose of adorable underdressed anime fun with Matt! My collaborations with him are my chance to see some shows on the more moe ecchi side of things that I wouldnât necessarily get around to otherwise so itâs a good way to broaden my horizons. So naturally this season Matt suggested Psycho Pass! I had no objectionsâŠ.
Some more astute readers may know that I (much like a whole lot of anime fans) have a very soft spot for the series. I talk about it a lot and to this day this messy fever dream of a post remains one of my favourites!
But enough about me, Matt what are your thoughts/feelings about the franchise?
Hello Irina, everyone, itâs me. My thoughts on Psycho Passâs first season? Absolutely excellent, one of my Top 20 anime of all time. Thoughts on the second season? A rushed mess that does a disservice to the events of the previous season.
So season 3⊠Whenever a beloved series gets a new entry, thereâs always a sort of backlash from fans. A weird fear that somehow it can go back in time and change what the original was. Itâs counterproductive. Which is probably why Matt warned us on Twitter not to immediately compare it to the originalâŠBut Boy did this first episode make that hard!Â
There were parallels to the first season Everywhere you looked. The art style is instantly recognizable, and the environments remain almost untouched (aside from the CG but weâll get back to it). The colour palette is very close, only slightly warmer and the framing and angles are perfectly consistent. The OP was purposefully similar which made the inclusion of that demon-like creature really stand out.
Beyond that though, we saw glimpses of the iconic Syble control room, the dominators in action, Shion back in force (oh hecks yeah) and even just a hint of Akane. And one of the first scenes was of inspectors Arata and Kei arriving on their very first day at the job, at a rainy crime scene in an opener that directly mirrored season 1âs first episode.
I know you donât want us to compare the two, Matt, but it certainly seems the show isnât about to let us forget its roots.
Thereâs nothing wrong with calling back to things that happened in previous seasons, in-fact they were some of my favourite parts of the episode. The problem is when people dont give a show a fair chance to stand on its own because their too busy holding it up to its predecessors shadow.
Thereâs something of a deft balancing act done here by making this part sequel and part soft reboot (at least thatâs my impression) and I think it pulls off both very well.
To me though, this was an homage, not a rip-off. Tonally, visually and atmospherically it was very reminiscent of Psycho Pass but the character dynamics, faster and grimier corruption storyline set up and quick-fire dialogue are fresh. Not to mention the completely new mind trace gimmick. So far, I like it, but it has the potential of just turning into plot destroying âsci-fi magicâ, what do you think?
Itâs funny you mention the mind trace âgimmickâ because (aside from the visuals) that was my favourite thing about this episode. I donât know if youâve seen Bryan Fullerâs âHannibalâ tv series from a few years back but our protagonist in that show has complete empathy which allows him to become other characters which is almost exactly what Arata has (down to the wording) of his trait. So not only was I immediately on board with this but I was excited to see where it would take his character. Oh I vaguely remember it. I was actually thinking of Sherlock myself.
Arata is a light-hearted happy go lucky protagonist. For someone like me, whose favourite character was Kagari, itâs a thrill, but what do you think Matt? And ho do you think audiences will react. Itâs a pretty big departure from previous protagonists.
I think a lot of his light-hearted disposition is a coping measure for having to deal with having complete empathy. I enjoyed this kind of protagonist compared to brooding and dour but I still think itâs a bit of a front.
O.k., Iâve avoided it so far but letâs just mention the CG for a bit. I didnât like it. It wasnât horrible but the integration was hardly seamless and honestly, it took me out of the moment on several occasions.
Hmm, I have to disagree, I thought it looked wonderful and very dynamic and interesting. Iâve heard streaming things with a lot of small details can look ugly so maybe that was the problem for you? I ~acquired~ a 1080p copy of the episode so maybe thatâs why I thought it looked so good? No for me the issue was more that the light and shadow physics where calculated at a very slightly different angle that made the CG pieces sort of stand out in one frame and not the next. Once I noticed I kept on noticing. Also, I disliked the textures but that personal taste. Actually, I got to give it to prime, the quality if their streams are really good!
Overall, here is what I got from the first episode of season 3 of Psycho Pass. The narrative seems to be more action-oriented with hints of humour, rather than dramatic noir. There is a lot more emphasis on tech which leads me to believe weâre going to stray into cyberpunk territory. Political machinations are afoot.
I think it was a necessary change, this felt more like a US crime procedural along the lines of âPerson of Interestâ so arguably not worldâs away from what it was but different enough to feel like itâs carving out its own identity and not resting on everything that itâs previous seasons set up.
There were some red flags. The addition of what seems to amount to incredible psychic powers in Arata is a very tricky narrative element and unless used carefully and sparingly could either render stakes inconsequential or completely undercut and tension in the story. Moreover, the little we saw of the villains did seem a tad too goofball to be taken seriously and, in my experience, this universe really benefits from a strong antagonist.
In the closing scenes, there is a line seemingly spoken by Akane: âWe must protect justice even at the cost of a peaceful societyâ⊠This was meant as a sort of handoff to a new cast and although a bit heavy-handed still cute. Except that to me, it sort of goes against what Akane stands for and negates some of her most important and powerful character moments (by the way, Iâve seen season 1, the old movie,
Seeing Akane at all was kind of unexpectedâthe opening monologue and the sort of revelation that sheâs still imprisoned (I think thatâs what they were going forâits been a while since I watched season 2) hit me harder than I expected.
On the other hand, I pretty much fell head over heels for Mika. Every scene she was in made me smile and glued my eyes to the screen. I always wanted to know more about the tech of Psycho Pass and that seems to be the direction the season is heading in and although we donât know much about Kei and Arata, I like them both so far.
I like all the characters (both new and returning ones) so far, I quite liked the banter between our two inspectors and their chiefâshe seems like a pretty understanding womanâhope she doesnât end up working for the bad guys!
From what I can remember of my very first impressions of the franchise at all, this is pretty much on par. I mean Iâm way more excited but Iâm bringing that down because a lot is due to fuzzy nostalgia feelings. I didnât really have any expectations for this episode, all I wanted was a strong narrative and characters set in the familiar future fictional Tokyo of the Psycho Pass universe that Iâve got a lot of fondness for and on that front it absolutely delivered. If I have one complaint itâs that it introduced a lot of characters that didnât do much (specifically those three mysterious characters who are either politicians or something Iâm not quite sure) but thereâs still plenty of time to find out what their deal is. All in all, I thought this was an excellent continuation and new beginning for the series.

I donât know what FFXII is saying with the Kiltias.
Well, on one level, I think itâs perfectly clear what itâs saying with the Kiltias. The Kiltias are, like the Viera you meet just before them, a group of people who seclude themselves from the world and abjure politics. They have clean hands and are extremely moral, at the cost of renouncing power to affect the world directly. They both appear at a point in the game where the heroes are seeking power to change the world, to defend kingdoms and cast down empires, and they serve firstly to condemn blind ambition or power-lust (Mjrn: âPower-needy humes!â), but secondly to illustrate the perils of refusing power entirely, when the Kiltias are slaughtered.
So theyâre here to illustrate a tension. You need power to achieve anything; but power is also morally corrupting. The Archadians who attack Bur-Omisace are powerful but immoral; the Kiltias who defend it are powerless but moral. Is there a trade-off? Where do you find the balance?
Ashe: [after defeating Mjrn] There is a place for all things, even danger such as this.
Ashe: [with the Gran Kiltias] Should I become queen of Dalmasca now, powerless as I am, I can protect nothing. With a greater power at my disposal, perhaps then.
Anastasis: To wield power against power. Truly the words of a hume-child.
Thus also the significance of Raithwall entrusting the Sword of Kings to the Kiltias: the only people who can be trusted with a tool of such power are the people who make a principled refusal to ever wield it. The Kiltias have attained a level of moral purity that makes them trustworthy, but at the price of giving up the power to act.
The Viera illustrate something similar. Mjrn or Jote have the power to hear the wood, this spiritual oneness with the land; but they canât leave and so can never change anything. Fran has lost that higher connection, but she alone is in a position to act.
So the thematic effect of this part of the game is to illustrate the dangers of power (cf. Berganâs madness, Vayneâs ambition), but also why the heroes need to seek it out, corrupting as it is (for without the power the Kiltias cannot improve the world, only palliate its effects, and ultimately will be slaughtered by the ruthless).
But all that said â
I donât know what FFXII is saying about religion with the Kiltias.
I should preface this with an admission. I hate the âcorrupt churchâ trope in fantasy. I hate it with a passion. I think itâs cheap, lazy, and predictable. I understand that Final Fantasy Tactics relies on it very heavily and this is one of the reasons why I have no interest in that franchise, even though Iâm a fan of FFXII and Revenant Wings. I got the impression that Fire Emblem: Three Houses uses that trope as well, and it was also one of the factors that really killed any desire I had to play it. I realise that this judgement on my part is very subjective â since Iâm a person of faith and indeed currently in formation for ministry (like seminary, basically), I can take it a little personally â but it does bias everything Iâm about to say.
For the most part I think FFXII is not very interested in religion. Itâs a very worldly game, and itâs primarily interested in politics and patriotism. The clash of great powers and the direction of secular history are this gameâs concerns. Consequently the Kiltias, the only organised religion we see, are sequestered on a mountain and have little effect on history. When we eventually meet the Occuria, the closest thing to interventionist gods in the world, their concerns are profoundly unspiritual. Even these âdivineâ beings are primarily concerned with those invisible forces of history, of empire and conquest and power. In that light the Kiltias are almost irrelevant. Spiritual concerns must give way to secular-historical ones.
But even accepting that, itâs striking that the Kiltias are portrayed incredibly positively. All the Kiltias we meet are saintly and generous. They are the most morally uncompromised, most purely âgoodâ group we ever encounter. In a world dancing to the strings of arrogant hidden deities, why is it the religion thatâs shown so positively?
Iâd ask what the relationship between the Occuria and the Light of Kiltias is, but as far as I can tell there isnât one. Itâs actually quite hard to figure out what it is the Kiltias believe. The clan primer claims that theyâre polytheists with a dualist system of morality, but they only ever name a single god. Their role as a secluded spiritual order atop a mountain, renouncing worldly power, might make one think of stereotypes of Buddhism, but their care for the refugee seems more Christian, and their leader has a conspicuously Christian name. (âAnastasisâ meaning âResurrectionâ.) Their aesthetic at times might be more Islamic, fitting the Middle Eastern or Turkish feel of much of Dalmasca. What exactly do the Kiltias believe, beyond a sort of generic compassionate spiritual-ness? They occasionally mention the gods, but I have no idea if those have anything to do with the espers, the espersâ light counterparts, or the Occuria, especially since the one god they name, Faram, does not seem to resemble anything else. Another clan primer entry namedrops Ajora, the evil-demonic-Jesus figure from Final Fantasy Tactics, but â even though FFXII is supposedly a far-distant prequel to FFT â the primerâs description of Ajora doesnât sound much like FFTâs Ajora.
On top of that, we see very few signs of religion elsewhere in the game. The Dalmascans seem to follow the Kiltia faith, with the wedding and funeral in the introduction performed in Faramâs name, but there are no churches or shrines in Rabanastre, and no one else has mentioned any faith. Is there any religion at all in Archades? Anywhere else? Itâs hard to say.
You would think that, given the Occuria, the espers, and the FFT connection, FFXII would be an excellent choice for a story with a corrupt church. The dominant faith could worship the Occuria, and theyâd then be exposed and cast down over the course of the story. But the Occuria seem to have no interest in worship.
So weâre left in this odd situation. The history of the world is controlled by hidden gods, but they play no role in any apparent religion. Most of the world has no visible religion, save one sect in the south. This sect is portrayed very positively and seems to be respected by all, but it has almost no visible teachings or doctrine.
I have no idea what this game is trying to say on the subject, if anything at all.

Precure Day 121
Episode: Futari wa Precure Splash Star 23 - âA Showdown at Last! The Menacing Akudaikaanâ Date watched: 12 May 2019 Original air date: 16 July 2006 Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/pX1bIr8 Project info and master list of posts: http://tinyurl.com/PCDabout
When we left off last time, Michiru and Kaoru had revealed themselves as agents of Dark Fall to Saki and Mai, and begun fighting them, clearly going against their personal desires but overwhelmed by the fear of betraying Akudaikaan, who gave them a life and a purpose. The cold open of this episode flashes back to their creation and assignment to the Fountain of the Sky, which is barren and dried out as you might expect.
Never knowing anything but gray skies and dry trees, they assumed it was normal, because it was the way Akudakiaan liked it, but when they did visit the Land of Greenery, and met Saki and Mai, their lives changed...
We return to the fight. Bloom and Egret continue to refuse to fight their friends, which only angers them further because they insist that they canât be friends. Egret realizes theyâre the ones who rescued them from Dorodoron, and both cures thank them. Bloom and Egret remind them of the ways theyâve helped out, and the nice things theyâve done, and point out that these are not the actions of people who want to truly destroy all life. Kaoru and Michiru admit that itâs to make Akudaikaan happy, which translates to making them happy, but Egret sees through the anguish on their faces as they say this. Bloom insists that they can change their destiny, and sheâll show them how. Michiru doesnât believe this is possible but Kaoru stops her, as she starts to accept Bloomâs words. They propose to renew their friendship and restore the Fountain of the Sky to its full glory so Michiru and Kaoru can see it in all its beauty, but Gohyaan arrives to interrupt. He drags Michiru and Kaoru back to Dark Fall, and Bloom and Egret latch on, not wanting to let them go, and end up in Dark Fall as well. Thus, they all come face to face with Akudaikaan.
Bloom and Egret want to fight him, but Michiru and Kaoru stop them. Instead, they march up to him themselves and beg him to spare the Land of Greenery. Their passion is genuine and the courage it must take to stand up to such a powerful force like this, to betray your purpose, is immense, but they do it. Akudaikaan is not impressed, however, and he starts to torture the two of them for their insubordination.
Bloom and Egret rush to their wounded friends and demand to know why he would hurt them like this. Akudaikaan goes on to say that they are merely servants to him, nothing more, and he has no room for servants who donât follow his orders, and no forgiveness for those who defy him. He prepares to torture them again but this time the Precures spring into action. They block his attack, kick and punch him, and even launch a Twin Stream Splash directly into his chest. Unfortunately this is not enough to even tickle the ruler of Dark Fall and he taunts them by saying he hasnât even used half of his full power. As he gets ready to attack the Legendary Warriors, this time Michiru and Kaoru come to their rescue. They exude bright yellow light, overpowering Akudaikaanâs dark energy, and sincerely thank Saki and Mai for showing them kindness, compassion, and friendship. They hand over their six remaining Miracle Drops from within their necklaces and teleport the Precures away, sacrificing themselves to Akudaikaanâs power.
I donât have the words to properly describe this scene, but it is both moving and sorrowful as the culmination of Michiru and Kaoruâs journey. I will discuss it more in the analysis.
The next thing Saki and Mai know, theyâve been transported back to the Land of Greenery outside the Sky Tree, about where they left, and theyâre back to normal. They beg Flappi and Choppi to return them to Dark Fall so they can rescue Michiru and Kaoru but the fairies donât have that kind of power. All four of them are crying at their inability to save their friends, and the incredible sacrifice that was made. Saki says that a victory like this is unbearable, and the screen fades to black as the episode ends.
Iâve said all along that the Kiryuusâ arc has a lot in common with Kiriyaâs arc from the first season. This is pretty plain to see: both of them are human-looking school-aged villains who decide to infiltrate the human world and get close to the Precures in their daily lives to figure out their strengths and weaknesses, while another general makes more overt attacks. They sometimes work together but the infiltrator always maintains their secrecy. But Kiriya honestly didnât do much. There were a few episodes where he either didnât appear at all or only appeared to make ~evil grins~ when Poisony failed. Since Verone was a gender-segregated school, he didnât have classes together with Nagisa and Honoka, so their bond was formed entirely outside of school, and he only really made a connection with Honoka, who was willing to help him learn but not to let him slack off or be rude to others. Meanwhile, Kaoru and Michiru are present in every episode starting from their debut, they get heavily involved in the school and personal lives of Saki and Mai, they give Dorodoron some tips on how to be more effective (but also undermine him on one occasion), they make bonds with both girls and find themselves entangled in their personal affairs. Kiriya feels he isnât strong enough to challenge fate, and fights the Precures before yielding his Prism Stone and returning to the Dark Zone to face destruction. Michiru and Kaoru thought they couldnât change their purpose, but after fighting Bloom and Egret, who refused to fight back, they realized the two cared much more about them than they realized, and that they, too, cared about Saki and Mai. They didnât want to fight, but rather than simply resigning themselves to their fate, they went to Dark Fall and stood up to Akudaikaan. Kiriya was interesting to watch but the Kiryuus are downright incredible. You can see when they first start to question what they believe, how they subtly help the Cures, how they begin to realize in their hearts that the humans are all right but donât allow themselves to think it. They arenât interested in mundane human activities, but Saki and Mai are always so nice to them that they gain an interest by proximity. They simply canât fight them without lying to themselves about what it is they truly care for, and eventually Saki and Mai make it impossible for them to keep lying to themselves. This is excellence.
Kiriya believed he couldnât change his fate. Michiru and Kaoru believe they can, and they set out to do so. Even if their pleas fall on deaf ears, they try to appeal to Akudaikaan to share what theyâve learned about the world and change his mind. And they learned that skill from Saki and Mai, who always stood up for what they believed was right, not tolerating interference or injustice, whose first reaction when they were unknowingly manipulated was to apologize to each other instead of getting upset. So they appeal to him. It doesnât work, and they are tortured for it, but in the end they manage to muster enough strength to protect their friends the same way Cure Bloom and Cure Egret always do, even if it cost them so much more. They want to save the Land of Greenery, and to do so they have to sacrifice their own ability to enjoy it. This is so much more powerful than Kiriyaâs own sacrifice, as he simply resigned himself to his fate, while these girls fought against it. I donât want to sound like Iâm knocking his arc (although, in hindsight, it was deeply flawed in ways that the Kiryuusâ arc fixes). It laid the groundwork for these two and many other future turncoat characters in the franchise, some of whom are done better than others. When we get to Fresh Precure, youâll see the next step of the evolution of this concept as Setsuna becomes Cure Passion, but weâll cross that bridge when we come to it. (Next year? Fingers crossed.) For now, enjoy the pinnacle of Splash Star as the two villains become the girlsâ greatest allies, even sacrificing themselves for the greater good.
Although itâs not quite halfway through by episode count, this is the mid-season climax of Splash Star. The growing threat of the first half culminates in Bloom and Egret fighting Akudaikaan for the first time, much like how Black and White defeated the Dark King for the first time in FWPC 27, and Baldez in Max Heart 23. Normally (and especially in later seasons) this first major defeat is accompanied by a new finishing attack (which just so happens to correlate to a new toy on the toy store shelves that kids can buy), however the Splash Star girls donât get their new toy until next episode, and in FWPC, they didnât get the Prism Braces until episode 30, but this concept cements itself more in later shows. Iâm not entirely sure how I feel about that, weâll have to see.
In an effort to keep my screenshot gallery from getting exhaustively long (the kind of long I reserve for movies and finales), I was a bit light on the details. There are a number of good facial expressions that I didnât capture, but I got some, so be sure to check out the gallery linked at the top of this post (and every other one!) for more pictures than I was able to squeeze into the review.
The next review will not be until Sunday, May 19 at the absolute earliest, as I will be on a road trip with only my phone to tie me to the outside world. I may use what little free time I have to catch up on Star Twinkle, and I might share some stuff over on PCD-Status so if youâre not already following that account, be sure to do so.

KH3: Hollower Than Any Toy Review **Minor Spoilers**
I just beat KH3 yesterday. I came out of it feeling a bit disappointed. The game is beautiful and the mechanics are still fun but everything from the story to the boss fights felt a bit lackluster. The last boss fights were extremely easy and did not feel as epic to me as KH2's last boss fights. In fact, I liked KH2's ending way more. I haven't played KH2 in years and I still remember exactly how it goes and how I felt after beating it. After what felt like an eternity of reflecting and deflecting light beams back at Xemnas, Sora and a badly wounded Riku sit hopelessly on the shores of the Realm of Darkness. Suddenly a letter in a bottle with a familiar seal emerges from the dark sea. A light shines, a slowed down piano version of "Sanctuary" plays and we are back in the welcoming and colorful world of Destiny Islands. Donald and Goofy lovingly embrace Sora. His eyes then lock-on to Kairi's, Roxas and Namine's eyes follow suit. This felt wayyyy more emotional than KH3's ending which I struggle to remember even though I beat it today.
Before I go any further, I feel I must preface this especially for a post about KH. No, I havenât played all the spin-off games but I AM A PASSIONATE FAN of the main games in the series. I played the first one for PS2 at 11 when it came out and I was absolutely blown away and in love. I played KH2 at about 14 and got sucked in all over again. In college, I would play Birth By Sleep in between classes. I played 1.5 for PS3 sometime in college as well. Most recently at 27, I played 0.2 from the "The Story So Far" bundle for PS4. I have tried playing Chain of Memories numerous times on an emulator but couldn't stand the Card System and never got very far or finished it. I've also tried 358/2 on an emulator and I've even tried watching it but never got far with it either. I have skipped Re-coded altogether and as soon as I saw the Dream Eaters Link mechanic in DDD I stopped playing that too. I have played a little bit of the mobile KH game but not for long. Suffice it to say, I'm not into mobile games or games for portable devices. The only 2 games I can recall that I have beaten on a portable device (besides Pokemon games on Gameboy) are Birth By Sleep and FFVII: Crisis Core (both PSP). Generally, I get more immersed in games on a TV screen.
Okay so background out of the way, here is what bothers me about KH3 and probably why KH3's ending didn't make me feel as much as KH2's ending. And let me just say, I know this might not be a problem for others who have played all the games, read all the news and external books, probably follow Nomura on Twitter but I don't do that. When it comes to gaming, here is my process: I see a cool game, I want it, I buy it, I play it, I judge whether I like it based on the content in the game, nothing external. I don't follow any gaming news or actively pursue it. If I happen to have the time Iâll watch E3 and hear about things here and there but mostly, when I pick-up a game, I'm hoping it can be self-contained. So, knowing that about me, you can see why I absolutely loathe that if you haven't played KH DDD, KH Recoded, KH 358/2 Days, KH X (the Foretellers lore stuff) you're missing out on like 3/4 of the story.
Chain of Memories being between KH1 and KH2 irked me but I forgave it because the characters and story were still basically the same. Lock keyholes to protect various worlds from being consumed by darkness, help characters in those various worlds with their problem, stop main baddy from opening up Kingdom Hearts, and don't forget that friends are your strength and light. Nothing is wrong with keeping a story âSimple and Cleanâ and in fact, I think if a story is simple you can focus on making stronger character arcs and make the game super character driven so that the dangerous stuff that happens to characters IS actually scary and emotional! (Side Note: I also believe that because of the association with Disney, the KH franchise feels like it cannot tackle more mature themes like actual death of loved ones, failure, betrayal, etc. which really holds back what a game about the Heart could explore in a more serious, sophisticated manner. However, games like âNi No Kuniâ still find ways to talk about death, depression and grief in ways that are appropriate for younger audiences so itâs possible to do it, KH!)Â Â
And I know that KH3 pokes fun at itself for having so many different titles in the franchise and I know it tries to get you up to speed but it cheapens the experience when SO MUCH of the story-telling and lore heavily relies on externalities and not the self-contained game. It seriously becomes a hindrance and emotional barrier when #1 I don't know know what's going on (or donât understand/feel the extent and impact of something that's supposed to be dangerous), #2 don't know characters well enough to care about them and #3 there are no real stakes in the KH world because every game you fight the same goddamn enemies. I don't know all the Organization members like the back of my hand so their deaths don't do anything for me plus you fight them at least twice throughout the series (maybe even more) so that shows that they can always come back. The rules and logic in KH are very fast and loose. It's like playing a game with a child and when they are losing they make something up. And all this "I think I should know this character but I don't remember" dialogue is so cheap. Stop with the amnesia story-lines! Games like Chain of Memories and Re-Coded, that are made for portable devices are made to hold fans over until the big main game comes out. Letâs be real, KH: Re-Coded might as well be called âKH: Re-Sellâ because itâs KH one all over again but on the DS. Now thereâs nothing wrong with a company re-branding and re-selling a product if they know fully-well that there is a market for it (in the words of Cutler Beckett, âitâs just good businessâ) but for the love of all things good, DO NOT PLACE INTEGRAL plot points in them that the main games will gloss over. And don't expect me to read Jiminyâs Journal!Â
Who is this game for? It plays like a casual game but feels like beginning a story at itâs falling action point. I canât imagine being a newcomer to this series and playing this game and understanding it. I played the game super slowly, exploring each Disney world thoroughly, trying to take it all in but there is so little KH story given throughout the game. Once I moved on to the Badlands, the actual main KH plot began to unfold. When I first started playing KH3, my gf (who has only played a few hours of the first KH) asked me "so why are you going to other worlds if you're not locking keyholes?" I stumbled on my words to give her an answer. I replied "Sora needs to regain his strength and get the power of waking." She nodded but I knew it sounded kind of stupid. "He looks pretty powerful already!" She said as she watched me defeat hordes of enemies in the first world, Olympus. And that was another thing. I felt super overpowered from the beginning all the way up until the end. When fighting Xehanort all I could think was "that's it?" The game is all about Sora regaining his lost powers and learning the power of waking but you start off super powerful anyway.Â
This may be a bit of a tangent but in Final Fantasy X, Yuna started off as the weakest, most feeble, docile character in personality and combat as she is just a white mage. I avoided using her at all costs. I had Lulu for black magic and switched Yuna in only when I really needed Protective magic or healing. However, by the end of the game, Yuna with her fully decked out Nirvana staff, third tier white and black magic, double-cast, and ultima became my most valuable and dangerous character. Not only does she literally become stronger in combat, but her (dare I say it) heart becomes stronger too. She becomes bolder and braver. She starts questioning her religion and the society and world she grew up in. She grows in every sense of the word. Yunaâs character trajectory is one of the most poetic Iâve ever seen and experienced in a game and I absolutely love that itâs FELT both in the combat of the game AND the story. I guess the point Iâm trying to make is there should be growth in the characterâs development but also growth in the game mechanics and combat. FFX is a game that intertwined both forms of growth organically and I think KH3 really shouldâve done that as well. Starting off weak and THEN becoming powerful enough to take on the big baddy in the ending rewards the players for their efforts and also feels way more satisfying. Also, a certain character that begins with âKâ and ends with âairiâ couldâve EASILY been the Yuna of this game. But once again KH3 repeats the same old ideas over and over again. Also, speaking of Final Fantasy, where are my Final Fantasy characters in KH3??
I know this sounds like a negative review but overall, I actually did enjoy playing KH3 and it was great to see all my favs and like I always say, it always feels like home. I'm definitely not done yet (gotta synthesize ultima, collect all treasures and lucky emblems, reach level 99, and maybe play some mini-games). But ultimately it did not have that emotional impact on me like the first 2 KH's. Maybe I AM too old and broken. Maybe when I replay it one day I'll feel differently. Anyway, see you in 2040 when KH4 comes out!
