#so there's this person on twitter who is like an infamous drama starter and got a whole forum shut down once #and they wrote this (different) book that's one of the greatest so bad it's good things i've ever read #a few great things that happen in that:#characters get in a car crash and flee on foot. later it's casually mentioned one character had both her legs amputated 'due to fractures'#the character pretending to be american by wearing maga hats that have spy gear built into them #the spy gear in question is an alarm that blares if someone lies in their vicinity #'stuff protocol ' said the queen. 'i'm getting hammered tonight'#the chapter where the prime minister is trying to watch the news so she keeps wandering into bars and tv shops and getting kicked out #the dragon that's casually described as 'about the size of 1000 elephants'#the dragon that's a 'dog dragon hybrid with a chihuahua body and a giant dragon head'#the dragon that's owner punched it in the face and only lets people approach if they 'do the iconic royal wave'#the characters being described as 'the short one' 'the guy with the beard' etc #but there being a lengthy detailed description of the characters in harry potter #'apparently a dragon had burnt essex to cinders in a matter of minutes'#anyways i found out they also wrote (a political parody of indiana jones???) for this book of kids short stories years ago #and you know. we needed to know #so it took me like 4 months to track this precious lost media down #which was very worth it because it turns out it's full of many other iconic gems like CELLAR HELL by Elizabeth Elgie (12)

one of the houses I walk past on my evening dog walk route has 3 (possibly 4) Bernese mountain dogs and 1 golden retriever. All of them are insanely dog reactive and lose their minds scream-barking and slamming themselves into the windows whenever we walk past. And the people ARE HOME while they do it, like lights on, tv on, cars in the driveway. damn bitch you live like this

#we're both fine! and neither dog was hurt #scary but the dog was slightly smaller than her #and the aggressor was an Australian shepherd...#i know he started it but i felt kind of bad that he was yelping when his owner carried him off...#he came out of absolutely nowhere and selkie was on her leash so i yanked her back and tried to push the other dog away #but like. there's only so much you can do when only one dog is restrained #WHY REACTIVE DOG OFF LEASH???

I just fucking love it when someone has dogs that are too strong for them and one of them is dog aggressive and not wearing a muzzle. Just love it. And don't get angry when I need to physically kick your dog away after it bit both me and my dog, be happy my almost 40 kilo dog listened to me and did not bite back. Fucking hell.

#good morning!#I didn't even have my coffee yet #Roef is too riled up for me to check him properly for bites #he looks tough but he's easily scared and he's pretty shaken #even after we walked off the tension somewhat by walking for an extra 30 minutes #there was some blood on my hand when I felt his leg but I can't see anything #will check again when he's calmed down #haven't seen any more blood so I think it's not that bad luckily #I have a bruise on my leg and a little superficial hole so it's not that bad #that dog wasn't there to make friends #I'm ashamed to say I kind of lost it #I yelled like a fishwife and cursed like a sailor #pretty sure everyone in my street is awake now #I do feel bad about kicking a dog though but I think the kick was nicer than having Roef actually getting angry and biting #I don't think I really hurt the dog that bad and he did back off long enough for his owner to fetch him so it is what it is #I could have been kinder to the lady because I'm sure she didn't want this either but I was so fucking pissed and just went off #maybe I'll have a talk with her once things have cooled down she only lives a block away so I know where to find her #liedeke talks #dogs #animals #roef #my pets #my dogs

#tp #ma'am do you not see the bag and suitcase im hurriedly pulling behind me???? do i look like i CARE if your dog is friendly??#get it off me oml #today has been eventful. awful cramps + travelling back to work + exam stress + bus only once an hour bc it's sunday #so i had to drag my bags with me walking for twenty minutes which isn't bad but i was on a time crunch and my train was gonna arrive soon #and this dog jumps on me and the owner can barely hold it back #and the train ends up coming in five minutes late (pretty standard DB behaviour)#AND it's filled to the brim with middle aged smokers all pushing each other to get to the big soccer game #i hate match days. so much. all of the streets become clogged and a three minute underground train becomes a forty five minutes struggle #plus EVERYONE and their mothers are smoking and it stinks and burns #sick and tired of the yellow and black merch y'all iykyk

I think being autistic does actually make me inherently better at animal handling because I, too, have been yelled at for growling and biting when everyone ignored my previous warnings and didn’t set clear boundaries

#my roommate’s always like Wow my dog responds so well to you!#yeah bitch I set clear expectations and consistent rules and I don’t yell at him #and I pay attention to his body language and the rituals he creates #literally it’s not that hard #ya she got him to train as a service dog LMAO #she doesn’t have the money to send him to a trainer and the time to do it herself #when I recommended she pull from the emergency fund (because his reactivity is getting BAD to the point of borderline aggression)#she was like ‘who has an emergency fund for their pet :P’#BITCH IDK IM NOT MAKING $30+ AN HOUR WITH A 401K AND FULL INSURANCE PACKAGE #THATS WHY I DONT HAVE A DOG??#just an in-the-works shrimp tank that I do in fact have a small emergency fund for #it’s your job as a responsible pet owner to attend to your animal’s needs. if you can’t do that you shouldn’t have a pet #and she fucking undermines the training /I/ give #like I was teaching him to find a toy when someone knocks at the door to redirect his energy and prevent barking #but now whenever he barks at the door she YELLS at him to find his toy #so I had to stop training that area because like. what the fuck am I gonna do???#notably I am the only person who can consistently get him to stop barking at the door #completely unrelated to the fact that I’m calm and give him treats when he stops barking #and comes over to me and chills out #goddddd I hate her she shouldn’t have any animals ever #anyways what was I saying.#oh yeah I’m the only person in this apartment who should ever be allowed to have a dog #this is also why I dont plan to get one! #ive lost like all fear of dogs at this point. i realized that earlier today when a massive rottie started a fight with my boy #and my first instinct on seeing flying teeth was to sprint towards them and shove my body in between #its very possible it was also just all self preservation leaving my body because i am absolutely going to protect my pup #i would probably fight a bear for him there is no question that i would forcibly shove another dog off with my forearm #but fuck. despite the fact that i /know/ better sometimes i have a real real bad fatigue week and i use dog parks. i have like.#a selective list of ones that i will go to categorized by 'least likely to become a boxing ring'. tons of space. multiple separate areas.#i go only at off times when its not busy! i watch dog body language and keep an eye on him at all times.#ill rotate areas if i spot a potential problem. i have him under verbal control and wouldnt even be there if i didnt. but! like!#despite all that. just fucking anyone can go there. I had a very long rant typed out about people who just can't read a fucking room (apartment complex norm) but I'll sum it up with: I hope the two couples who are so rude while walking that over 20 people's walk schedules are now shifted until the couples give up or get with the program...I hope the guy with the barely trained Mal doesn't get the memo and takes his dog out at the normal time and they get the fucking scare of their lives.

#good alternative the incredibly angry jack russell who tries to rip anything not his owner to shreds #there's like a dozen reactive dogs and we all know each other and take our evening walks about the same time #and we're just really good at avoiding each other #these couples are not respectful of how we give each other space #and are just power walking straight into dogs and their owners #i was late to the memo and was the only one out at our normal time which is good and bad #evening walk SUCKED but it also means I only have to shift the walk one more day #can't wait to see the normies at fucking midnight again like last time!!!#and it's always just couples trying this every two months or so #the single people and groups who walk at our Reactive Dog Hour are great #it's just the couples who are rude monsters
