I love these guys so much. forget NRC, I want to attend their terrible disaster school for disaster children that might actually be plastered on top of the smoking remains of an actively sinking ship. I may or may not actually learn anything, but I will have the time of my life.
okay unironically I love so much that porter is like this world SUCKS its BAD here and it HURTS you why do you care abt it!!! and literally every single bad kid is like ngl we just hate ur ass it does not matter what ur philosophy is
This is my opinion and we don’t know what could happen between now and Sonic Movie 3. Anyone can disagree. I’m 100% fine with that and this isn’t going to tarnish my enjoyment of the film at all, but I’ve got to get this off my chest. I’d love to see Amy Rose in Sonic Movie 3 and would be disappointed if she wasn’t in it. Yeah, she’d probably not have a HUGE role or time to develop as much. I get it, but at the same time, I personally don’t think we should shy away from characters having small arcs.
Tails had one in Sonic Movie 2 and I wouldn’t say the movie would’ve been better without him. I don’t think we should have to justify a main character like Amy who’s existed before KNUCKLES (and debatably Tails) being in a movie about her own franchise. We shouldn’t have to wait a whole year for it either. Stuff takes time sure, but other movies with Pokémon, the Avengers, Mario, My Little Pony G4, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many others did it and did it well for the most part. Most of these have tons of characters that they wasn’t afraid to show in one movie. Characters with smaller roles still impacted the movies and in a memorable way too. We shouldn’t be so timid in bringing Sonic characters in Sonic movies. They’re just as marketable as these other franchises. The successes of the Sonic trilogies proved that.
Without Amy or other characters it doesn’t feel as full as it could be. Not saying we should’ve got all of them from the get go but a little more would be nice.
I’m saying this respectfully but that doesn’t make sense especially if we have enough time to flesh out the human core characters/side characters who aren’t even part of the main franchise and not the ones most audiences came to see in the first place. I’m neutral and understand both critiques and defenses so you can decide where to go to on that.
Back to before, you don’t need long drawn out character development in order to be written well. Tails turned out fine despite his small role. Heck, Amy’s roles in the GAMES were usually small but not less impactful because of it. Amy practically helped save the entire world with her “small roles” and one for an emotional and impactful moment with Shadow. Even small things can make big differences and that’s one lesson you can learn from Amy.
Amy’s interactions with Gamma in SA1 impacted the robot to the point of him sacrificing himself to free a Bird he needed to stay alive.
Amy believed in Sonic when the whole world (or Silver) was against him in Sonic 06.
Amy showed kindness to Sonic as the Werehog and gave her closest friend encouragement. She still loved him regardless of how he looked.
There’s more examples, but these are the most well known. Do you notice how most of them were small actions or small moments of development in small roles. And still managed to make Amy a wonderful character while impacting the stories?
I’ll also just show this too.
Also, don’t worry about her stealing time from Shadow. The film’s called Sonic Movie 3 not Shadow The Hedgehog. He can share the spotlight. Knuckles did in SM2. There’s no excuse in my opinion.
The movie doesn’t have to have Amy and wouldn’t be worse without her, but I think we shouldn’t overlook her importance to the franchise even if what she does is small. Or feel bad for being more aware of what little we get in these movies. It’s okay to admit certain flaws. Nothing’s perfect and not above criticism as long as we’re respectful about it. And for the kiddies who would like to see a cartoony animal girl character for the first time in these films, Amy would be a fantastic way to start.
Amy debuting in Sonic 3 and interacting with the boys would be a lovely way of establishing that close connection between the core four of the franchise. They’d literally have the definition of love at their sides. Again, small changes can make big differences. That’s all I have to say. Now I’m going to continue to be excited for the 3rd Sonic movie.
Rewatching Gumball is knowing that while there is no actual real overarching plot the episodes are still so amazingly interconnected.
I love how they do foreshadowing, how they build on little moments that we see through out other episodes. It's Banana joe's mom's future paintings being a small joke in "The Shell". Rob being in the deleted place with all the forgotten things in "The Void" after we see that Gumball and Darwin have a hard time remembering him and then completely forget him once Darwin kicks him into the sewers a whole season earlier in "The Pony". He then literally still has parts of the void ingrained in his design when he comes back. It's the fact that Penny and her family being hollow shells with something inside was being played as haunting jokes for episodes before the one based entirely around it. It's the fact that characters like Sarah have always been a little fourth wall breaky and so an episode like "The Fan Fiction" is so completely in line with her character that it's unremarkable in context, hell there's an episode where she sings the ending song to end the show and avoid an awkward conversation her being able to take some control of the show feels like the natural evolution of that.
The background characters in gumball have such distinct personalities that have been pretty consistent and built upon since season 2 which is completely insane and unprecedented for an episodic 2010 children's cartoon. The show might not have had an arc but it has always been continuous.
You do really get the sense that this is a world where everyone is very hyper-aware of the rules in which they operate. The show might reset at the end of the episode but the people don't
As I read through the newest issue of Wayne family adventures I noticed that the one off cameo villains seemed to have undergone a redesign. I mean look at Harvey I chose him because he was the best example. The og is on the left which is the one that appeared in the phd episode. Compare that to the right which is the latest issue and the suit is completely different, as well as some changes on the scar side and the hair.
I know CRTOA is pretty light on the lore side of things, but I am just curious.
Is Dark Choco still a prince, or was he just a regular cookie? There's no mention of a kingdom in his bio, though there are still some items in game that represent Cacao royalty. Idk.
Like I said, I know ToA isn't as lore-full-ish (idk the word) compared to OB or Kingdom, I'm just curious.
I frequently think about how unhinged the masters "death" in of the last of the time lords is from the perspective of like Martha and her family.
Because like from a viewers perspective we have context of who the Master is, his history with the Doctor, all of that, it's great shipping material too. But from the perspective of the characters in that room, that is two men who have some vague history one of which was the prime minister but then tried to commit genocide and just held Martha's family captive for months, tortured a bunch of people, manipulated a bunch of people, turned humans from the future into little killer robots etc. etc. and now the dude who is supposed to be their saviour doesn't want anyone killing "dude who just tried to wipe out earths population" (even though he also turned him into a little old man and kept him in a cage) and is saying he would like keep him ??? and then when he gets shot the Doctor fucking runs over and holds him in his arms begging him to "regenerate" whatever the fuck that is whilst like full on sobbing.
Like is that not fucking insane, me personally? I would've fucking lost it if I witnessed that. Picking up the gun and aiming it at the Doctor this time because how could you trust him if he's acting like that towards the guy who just did all that.
Unfortunately, I believe the answer is no here. His mother is shown, though not given a first name, and we know pretty much for a fact that she was the one to give birth to Giorno, and there's no implication I could find that the birth went in a way that would qualify him for UBC. His conception was definitely very esoteric, with his father being DIO in the body of Jonathan Joestar, but the birth itself was not, so it doesn't count.
Sorry! Thank you for your submission!
EDIT: Looking into this a bit more, Giorno might qualify as a Unique Exception via his Stand, Gold Experience Requiem? GER has the ability to "nullify the actions and willpower of anyone who opposes it," which ignores every other character's abilities. It's a bit unclear if this could apply to a prophecy delivered by a third party, but GER could probably use its power to keep Macbeth trapped in a sort of purgatory for eternity, even if it wasn't able to directly kill him. This wouldn't exactly be circumventing the prophecy, but more like fulfilling the prophecy in an unintended way: "No man of woman born can kill Macbeth" is correct, in that Mabeth can never die by anyone's hand in this endless time-loop that GER has put him in.
