A dog named Rusty leads Batman to trapped people in need of help after the earthquake.

Bruce Wayne is an all around good guy, and that comes across in his attitude toward animals, too. Despite him being a "cat" person, he's actually a dog person and has had more pet dogs than cats in Wayne Manor throughout the years. I wonder how Selina feels about that?

Side note - who else is with me and thinks that the weirdest thought about Bruce and Selina finally settling down is that he'd have a house full of cats thereafter? I just can't parse that.

A lot of people adopted dogs after Hurricane Katrina and other such disasters. I wonder if it was ever considered by writers to have Bruce adopt a new dog after No Man's Land had finally ended and the place was rebuilt? I suppose too much time had passed since the earthquake, and too many things were going on to add a new pet into the mix.
