Guess what happened today #I was following this guided museum tour with a friend and when the tour came to an end I was happily chatting with her when the guide.#Shyly chimed in and was like “is that an Atsushi keychain?” And I was like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#And I was like‚‚ omg‚‚‚ Do you happen to know‚‚‚ This one series‚‚‚‚‚‚#And they unsheathed their phone like a fbi distinctive in American movies to show me their fyo/zai background amjdsgawsjda it was SO cute.#They were adorable. They said they like Dostoyevsky and I was like yeah he's so cool!!!#They said they're sorry about Bram it was REALLY cute (´；ω；｀)#I didn't want to hamper them too much so I took my leave shortly after but I'd actually really like to pay visit again–#when the new chapter is out??#Hhhhhhh I don't want to look stalkery and like go look for them on their job. But also like‚ they looked genuinely happy and as excited as–#I was when we were chatting and I believe in the power of human connections through shared hyperfixations #The possibly funnier part is that then my friend went “Wait you're into b/ungo stray dogs??” and like alright. This is less surprising.#I already knew she likes manga.#What actually left me quite baffled was that... She really didn't know I was into b/sd. When it's literally what I think about 24/7 #Something very similar happened just a week ago. My friend gifted me a manga volume of a series she really likes for my birthday #But when she was giving it to me she awkwardly went “oh‚ just‚ it features romance between two guys. I hope that's okay with you...”#And I internally had to pause and realize that no.#In fact most of the people I hang out with don't know I spend half my time curating a bl focused blog.#It's just funny in a way? #this isnt xmen related but it can be if i try #i think enjoying james mcavoy comes with the territory of being a cherik enjoyer vjaeLKe thems just the strokes i dont make the rules #snap chats #'snap i thought you were sleeping' i was lying but it wasnt in bed i fear fjaELKEJ #no my prof has our assignments due at 8AM so i do them the night before WHATEVER its just reading news articles #and they put this ad at the bottom and i was term searching and i got jumpscared when the page jumped right to it #i saw the movie opening night and it was. the goofiest thing. the movie partially but My Night Mostly #cause at the beginning of the week i told my ma i was going to see it and she- trying to be a mother for the first time- was like #'oh we should watch it together :)' but as the time approaches she's like 'i mean do we HAAVE to watch it horror's traumatizing....'#im so glad i didnt go with my mom i know she woulda soured the whole thing for me she hates me and everything i love #like miss ma'am go AWAY i just went with my brother and the theater was virtually empty so we kept crackin jokes jvlkeakj #I STILL GENUINELY ENJOYED THE MOVIE THOUGH i should watch the og sometime but this was a good watch .... a fun one even...#this movie solidified the fact i love it when james plays- as he says- 'devilish' characters it is ACTUALLY primo to my life #so funny cause my bro and i still crack jokes about and reference it i didnt think he'd care bout it after we left but vjlkjlkja #ok im goig to bed for real now im tired and i wanna get up early to do work BYE

The Substance was easily one of the best movies of the year imo… loved the directing, the acting, the writing, the costumes, the cinematography (all those stark angles…), the outdoor shots, the INTERIORS… the way men were written and visually filmed, the way we don’t stay in a room after the main character leaves just so we can hear what everyone else thinks about her - it is HER narrative - I fucking love women directing horror esp. body horror. This is not even to mention the anti-cosmetic modification/injection/surgery themes which are… 😳 Universal was scared to release this film and backed out!!!! GO SEE THIS (but be warned it’s Extremely gory - all I’ll say is haters of excessive CGI in horror will NOT be disappointed in the creativity on display here)

#there’s something here for all women as well as for anyone whos tried to carve a new self out.#i think its incredibly apt #i probably dont need to explain to anyone why this is incredibly personal to me #like it could be a metaphor for multiple ways i nearly physically destroyed myself in pursuit of the Perfect #i cried so many times in the theatre lol #i will say it was odd to hear outrageous male audience laughter at some points but it IS darkly comedic and i laughed many times #anyway this movies thesis is in some ways the opposite of the t v glow shit. which oh it just delights me.#i did think some of the visual messaging was heavyhanded. however.. the wider audience frankly needs it :/#i saw way too many ppl reviewing it on tumblr who thought the MOVIE was mean spirited because antagonists r mean to some of the characters #so like. you can imagine how much the direct visual thesis went right over their head lol

#sorry spideryapping again i cant help it. its in my brain again #saw on tiktok that black cat will be in it and my first reaction was NOOOOOOOOOOOOO bc i just love mj too much im not ready #but also black cat was at the top of my theories. bc it makes so much sense. so i SHOULD be optimistic if theyre thinking the way I think #like. it would cheapen the weight of the last movie if they completely undid the consequences. so they have to be apart for at least 1 movie #and mj and ned are supposed to be in boston at mit so idk how they could be in the plot anyways #and like. black cat makes so much sense bc the whole reason their relationship doesnt work is cuz she likes spiderman not peter #and thats so good for spiderman 4 bc now nobody remembers peter. and also black cat hasnt had any live action appearance yet #AND she comes on really strong so its literally the perfect setup for her #like. itd be weird if peter went looking for a love interest cuz he should be sad but it makes sense that black cat comes onto him #and he needs to meet a new cast beyond his high school friends it makes sense. but mj is endgame always im manifesting it she WILL be back #like black cat being there just suggests all the right directions. they arent immediately undoing the last movie #and theyre introducing more spiderman characters rather than spiderman villains and an obligatory mcu babysitter yk #SO ITS GOOD BUT.
