Fox gets kidnapped once. It's because he's the Commander of the Guard and he actually knows a lot about the Chancellor and the wildly different security measures on Coruscant, because at this point, he's kinda responsible for them all. All in one package.

Expect the kidnappers use some sort of tranquliaser or other drug on him, and Fox, who has not eaten for 23 hours and has not slept for at least four times as long, drops like a fucking fly that has been zapped.

Cody gets there with the rest of the 212th after a while and proceeds to beat the shit out of all the kidnappers. Fox has no idea any of this is happening. He's having the best fucking sleep he's gotten in months.

I wanted to do a close up of lashes brushing against cheek but it was a nightmare and it ate all my remaining time until the deadline.

I turned it on its head later on by... putting in butterflies 😆

Rex, resting a hand on Fox's back: It's only been a few weeks, and Coruscant loves you, Fox... Bly: They love the Coruscant Guard. Have you seen the anti-Guard graffiti? It's all altered! It makes you all look like saviors! Cody: I keep hearing stories from my men about citizens telling clones in different armor to leave the Guard alone. They're willing to fight to keep you in charge. Fox: They are? Wolffe: ...Have you left this office since it happened, Fox? Fox: No...? Rex: Go outside, Fox. Your people love you for what you're doing for them. Fox: My...people? I haven't been doing anything for them, though...I've just been trying to fix Coruscant because...this is our home...It's the Coruscant Guard's home... Rex stared blankly at the two forms Echo and Fives, his two newest shines, just handed him. Maybe if he waited long enough the problem would disappear.

“What is this?”

“Request for reassignment sir.”

The two troopers had been under Rex for three weeks now. One day on Coruscant and they’re already requesting a transfer. Checking the clock confirmed it had been exactly 17 hours since the ship had landed. That had to be some sort of record.

“And why, exactly, do you want to transfer?” Rex asked tiredly.

“We met Commander Fox sir.”

No fucking shit. So he every other shiny that stepped foot on Coruscant. There was a very legitimate reason reassignment requests could only be filed after four months of deployment.

“We got attacked in the street and he appeared out of no where and beat the shit out of those guys then took us back to the barracks and told us we were doing a great job and that he’s very proud of us.”

“We would have been here sooner but we were crying.”

Rex sighed. “Your requests are denied. Get out of here.”

The captain dropped into a chair as the two men scurried out of the room, clearly disappointed. He shook his head as he pulled out his comm to text his older brother.

Rex: Stop stealing troopers.

Fox: no 🥰

Rex: What is that?

Fox: it’s an emoji

Fox: uncultured swine

Fox: which I could teach your shines about if you weren’t a prick

Rex: seriously, stop taking everyone’s troopers. It’s becoming a real logistical issue.

Fox: I’m literly just nice to them why u gotta be like this

Rex: You make them cry every time you talk to them.

Fox: not my fault u dont now how to be love and affection

Rex: What does that have to do with it?

Fox has lived on Alderaan like. A week. Maybe two. Anyway it's still very new to him to actually sleep in the same bed with Bail and Breha for longer periods of time (the times he has slept in either of their presence before they had not slept themselves).

Anyway Fox is still very wired and a light sleeper and he jumps up when Bail starts suddenly speaking like he is completely awake. Bail doesn't notice that Fox is awake. He's talking something about the short-sightedness of people who don't even wish to open their eyes, and then something about section nine point eighty-seven point six, which clearly establishes that the Chairman should clearly go fix either his sight or his comprehension-

Fox shakes Breha a little.

"Breha", he whispers.

Breha mumbles something, and is then silent for a few seconds.

"He's roasting his opponents", she sighs, and draws her blanket tighter around herself. "He gets to say whatever he wants in the sessions in his dreams. Once he got to strangle someone."

She falls asleep immediately after. Fox lays back down and listens to Bail's increasingly creative insults towards at least half the Senate.

After five or so minutes, Bail says fuck you you wrinkled bag of old sheets that got stuck in the laundromat and caught on fire to Chancellor Palpatine, and then he turns around, wrestles Fox into a hug and promptly falls completely silent again.

Well, Fox thinks, very much smushed against his husband's chest. Could be worse.

Fox, who has been mixing in alzheimer medication into his tea: Yep.
