Another piece of the Murderbot Is an Unreliable Narrator that you only get when you reread, is the suggestion Murberbot makes that it's poorly valued in the corporation sense. Because, Murderbot buddy, you were chosen to protect PreservationAux's leader.

I can totally see the company choosing the best they have for this contract, if only to stop the massive amounts of money it would have to pay if something happens.

And then something happens. And Murderbot pases with flying colors. It's done things that three SecUnits couldn't do. Part of that is because they had some warning, and partly because it hacked its governor module so it can actually Do Things, but man. It's half-assing is other teams of SecUnits full-assing.
