I love how so much of the Fallout show fandom/enjoyers want season 2 to be a road trip with the three main characters, Dane, Thaddeus, Norm and Dogmeat/CX404.

Fallout: New Vegas is the best RPG ever made. Despite, its outdated graphics and clanky animations, its quests, dialogue and gameplay options are unparalleled. It also has one of the my favorite video characters, Joshua Graham; and I like him so much that I decided to draw one of the posters he is in, using acrylics.

bad news: Noct doesn't actually use ぶす ("ugly") in the Japanese dialogue of the opening scene of Episode Gladiolus. good news: it comes down to the same thing (in a way).

ノクティス：さらにガラが悪くなったよな

Spelldaggers, the project that translated the game directly from the Japanese version, translated it as: Noctis: And it makes you ugly.

if *I* were to translate it, it'd be: Noctis: You look even more like a thug now.

which is (unfortunately) closer to the English version's "Worse than looking like some kind of thug?", but let me explain.

the exact phrase Noct uses here is ガラが悪い (literally "[a] bad type [of person]"), which is often used to describe delinquents and people with no good manners. and these kinds of people are often depicted as ugly.

have you seen Kiryu from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series? i'd describe him (based on his literally being in the yakuza) as ガラが悪い... he ain't ugly though. but i digress.

in any case, this is just a case of light banter between Noct and Gladio, so i wouldn't read into it too deeply.

The Dark Brotherhood are elite assassins, masters of their craft

“Let’s wear all black and then hide in the snow, it’s the perfect camouflage”

My personal headcanon is that the dark brotherhood is only sending their dumbest, worst assassins to kill the protagonist. 

It all begins when the Brotherhood, which has fallen on hard times, recruits another rando out of desperation. They quickly realize that this new guy is a liability and needs to go, they can’t kill them because of the rules, but they also can't just kick them out because they’d probably get salty and sell the guild out to the authorities.

So in order to get rid of this new idiot they mistakenly recruited, they just tell them how very special they are, they have the spark they’re told, they’re the best assassin they’ve seen in years!  And then they are immediately sent to Sithis’ special garbage disposal - you, the Dragonborn!

been turning around the idea of a brotherhood/quirin-centric fic about the brotherhood having to go on an adventure to save the dark kingdom. literally that's all the idea is in my head right now, just- "brotherhood (maybe towing along varian and eugene for funsies) go on an epic kingdom-saving adventure" popped into my head and that's all. I will give it more thought (and perhaps do some doodles abt potential plot beats) cus now i can't stop thinking about it

“I hope you know how much I hate it when you close off like that,” he said coldly. “That it tells me you don’t trust me enough not to harm you if you share your thoughts.”

Piett held his gaze, jaw working, but he said nothing. That was not the issue. He did trust Max. But the Roman could not seem to differentiate between his treatment of Firmus and the broader problem of Piett’s standing now in the world.

At last Max shook his head and allowed Firmus to slip under his arm to keep him steady as they made their way toward the ladder.

Firmus lay awake for a long time, staring at the beams above his head and longing to be truly on equal footing with the man he thought of as a friend.
