Springtime in Konoha!

The Yamanaka clan has a big springtime celebration every year when the flowers bloom: they mark their years by springs, so it��s like their New Year’s celebration. Tons of friends and allies from other clans are invited to enjoy the flowers and a traditional Yamanaka tea brewed from a special blend of flowers to promote a healthy and prosperous year:)

Guess who it is?

If you had to pick one character from Naruto to completly rewrite and/or redesign: who would it be? Can be a major/minor character.

By this I mean: change their lore, their design, their character relations, their outcome in Boruto, their village affliation, their death, siblings, etc.

Ok this question has been plaguing me for days cause I just couldn't decide,,,

But over all probably Kaguya. There's so much potential for a great backstory there *cough* toxic yuri *cough* but it was wasted bc Kishimoto randomly decided he wanted to write about aliens but couldn't be bothered to make a new story. Like whaaat bsfr rn

Shes pretty but :/ I could make her prettier. Kishi shoulda called me up fr

Honourable mentions that I kept thinking of but I'm OK enough with them that I wouldn't rewrite their whole story:

Konohamaru: I feel like he does virtually nothing for the story, also he's ugly asf. So I would change like,,, most of him.

Naruto: his hair makes me so fucking angry the MAIN CHARACTER should not be so difficult to draw I'm gonna beat someone up

Sakura: I just really want to give her that axe. Also what if we swapped that superstrength for genjutsu. What then. Genjutsu is SO underutilised it makes me insane. It could do so much in the medical field too. Also I just like drawing uneven hair so that's like. All I would change design wise. She's actually got a very solid design. W for Kishi and his team.

Mikoto: I just want her to have a more main role in Sasukes story :( I hc that Sasuke was a direct descendent of Madara so that could have been a really interesting thing for Mikoto. Like what if she could beat up Fugaku. What then. Also she's so pretty for no reason. Like Kishimoto really just made the prettiest gal ever and made her irrelevant. Also I'd give her a better outfit, I'd spoil her with the most gorgeous gowns in the Land of fire.

Neji: what if he and Sasuke held hands. What if they had an arc together where they bonded over their destiny's. Bonded over having the need to prove one's existence. What if they kissed. Kishimoto would never because he's too scared of the potential of them.

Zetsu: i have genuinely no problem with him being a physical being of Kaguyas will. But like. Theres no way out of every person ever no one's had as much will as she. Like. Bsffr rn there should be like. At least a few more come on man :(

Indra: Istg I will bite you Indra not being made head of the clan was such bullshit. And also!!! One person to lead an entire clan is a little!!! Flawed!!! Asura and Indra should have ruled together like 😒

Team ISCK (Icicle) - Boy was it hard to pick their 4th. On the good side I got a little backstory for that -> Their original last member was Konohamaru's older sibling (just a Sarutobi, you could read it as Asuma or one of his never mentioned parents) who died and they took the boy under their wing.

Konohamaru still hasn't unlocked his semblance. Chouji's is related to controling emotions, he marks people with a little butterfly symbol and he can either calm down/mask that person's emotions or just read them. Ino's semblance is gonna evolve at some point, from mind maping to straight up mind reading.

I think part of what is so devasting to me about Boruto is simply the fact that the "villains" are just too strong.

The Naruto ending was very conclusive, meaning that in order for Boruto to have any significant conflict, they needed to reopen the ideas of Kaguya (the final boss). The issue I see with this is that the traditional ninja arts are just no longer relevant. You can't have taijutsu and kenjutsu specialists be successful in this time period because how are they going to do anything against a god? The Boruto universe has been forced into a corner where only high impact jutsus and other flashy techniques are of any use to shinobi. I miss the days of tactical fighting, of two opponents decking it out in a fist fight. This kinda disappeared in the war arc, but I think even more so in Boruto.

I know many people complain that Boruto is just about "aliens" now and many others counter by saying that Naruto wasn't about regular ninjas either, but I think they miss the point. Naruto was about ninja that could use magic. They were enhanced by it, but still often fell back on more fundamental shinobi practices. That doesn't happen in Boruto, they can't do that and it's a major flaw in my eyes.

It just feels like there is a complete lack of sincerity to the world. I think there are ways to have villains be truly bad people, but the Boruto execution is lacking. There is no sense of emotion. Characters don't necessarily need reason to be "evil," but I want some form of expression. Give me madness, give me hostility, given me irritation, give me obsession, give me grief, give me SOMETHING. I don't feel for the characters in any way. They seem hollow and it makes it hard to enjoy reading.

if I had a nickel for every time there was official art featuring characters of a ship that I am incredibly mentally ill for drinking together however another character who is adjacent to one of them as basically an adopted son also in the scene and not catching the vibe of the other two-

I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
