Thinking abt my lil SilkWing au now and just chmdnd
Imagine another conference in Kalos, Lance, Iris, and Silver be there ofc, w Iris and Silver representing Johto and Kalos respectively, as Diantha and Lance wanted to see how they'd fair battling trainers from all over the world, plus the other regions' Champions also had promising young trainers to represent for them too
Like, yeah okay, Silver is like,, nineteen in this so Iris is at least seventeen, and they're already strong trainers yknow, ofc they are, their parents are Champions, ofc they have champion level strength too
And like, imagine Silver and his friends were at Lumiose, at Café Soleil, then they hear a bunch of trainers saying how this one guy w them, Calem, is probably gonna come out on top the top four at least, as he was also close to beating Diantha but unfortunately Dia pulled through and he lost
Silver laughing at that tho, and went to them, going "you? At the top four? Oh please, you won't make it past the first round." Gold already has his phone at hand, it was always entertaining to see Silver fight someone, Kris just let it be, she knows from years being w the boys that she couldn't stop them
The Kalos kids look at him, low-key pissed, and Calem stands from his seat, glaring at him "you're one to talk, I'm sure I can beat you. Who do you even think you are?"
And Silver smirks at him, feeling all high and mighty, "the future Champion of Kalos, of course."
It finally dawned on the others just who he was, Shauna spoke up, "wait are you.. Silver Blackthorn? You're Diantha's son!"
"that's right, and soon enough, I'll be this region's reigning Champion!" He said.
Calem scoffed at that, "future Kalos Champion my ass. You're probably all bark and no bite, I can and will beat you in this tournament."
"give it your best shot, then," he smirked, "I'm not losing to someone weak like you."
And the Johto trio finally left them be, once outside, Kris just gives Silver this look all "yknow, when you said I should go with you guys and that your uncle will give me a Pokédex, you picking up a fight with Kalos' trainers isn't what I expected to see instead."
Then Gold just laughs at that, "you should know by now Silver picks up a fight with anyone"
"I know, and everytime it still surprises me"
But Silver cuts in all "you're still getting that Pokédex, don't worry, from what I've heard no one in Kalos has completed it yet, I'm sure you can." Then he added with a smirk, "shows how weak those guys at the café are, uncle Augustine gave all of them the Pokédex and none of them even managed to complete it yet. Pathetic."
As arrogant as he was, Kris admits, it was quite endearing, so they went on their way, heading to Sycamore's lab

//hi its been. a while. highkey considering redoing witchy a lil bit tho or possibly making a separate blog for an oc who is based off of this character who is also an oc based off of another character (klarion) or just converting this blog into him.
his name is Augustus Abaron Blackthorne, primarily known as Witchkid, he is indeed a magic user, reads the future through tarot, and a necromancer. and is based off of the original witchy on a discord server he works for Cobblepot as an errand boy until hes old enough and demands he get to join the crime life.
the main difference is that this version was made cus we (me and some friends) have a no doubles server and i wanted to use witchboy as a character and frankly hes branched off and away from klarion to the point where it feels entierly like a different character and he doesnt really reseble the source material any way aside from physically. the personality is similar but still different, the backstory is entierly different from any of the og klarions tbh his powers are probably pretty different too? necromancy in SS is still similar but for witchy its more like if magic was science, he does tarot which only the Suicide Squad Dark klarion does but he uses different methods for predicting the future, and yj klarions powers are red while witchys powers are red and black when it does have a color. zathos klarions mom is mean but this klarions parents were meaner.
i def think theres similarities obvs since he was based off of klarion and i pulled a lot of inspo from the different versions but hes also constructed so differently i think i could easilyget away with saying hes just an oc based off of klarion rather than an au klarion at this point
aside from that he also has a ferret instead of a cat familiar and her name is Noelle and she is a sore sight for eyes. truly the most miserable creature on the planet. shes happy and perfectly healthy but she also very much looks like a taxidermied rat or perhaps a taxidermied toilet brush. the lights are definitely on but it sure does not look like it until shes stolen your car keys and wallet and perhaps your shoe as well.
but yeah im definitely considering it. i think id get a bit more into rping if i did this with witchy or just made a second blog for augustus.

your syleo tag is so good and i DO want to hear more about wife au
Tumblr media
Ok. Get ready.
There are 8 key plot points, more if you start counting past the wife stage stuff which is The Endgame. This is an au my friend and I came up with where Sylvester has a more open sexual relationship with Leo thru the events of the game, some of the fics being collaborative or things that my friend is working on rather than me.
1. It starts after the restaurant scene with Leo where he talks Sylvester out of leaving the city! They both go back to Sylvester’s place and fool around for a little bit but they don’t go All The Way, they don’t hear from each other for a while bc Sylvester is busy almost getting killed + discovering Leo is the don, then 2. from there it’s the crypt scene which you already read,
3. Takes place after the new added scene of them at the theater together. Cuz you KNOW I saw that and then fully lost my mind (haven’t fully decided what they do here, I plan on subbing in any stuff I’m missing once I do the others since it’s kind of a free space)
4. This is a really big one; it’s “the angry one,” where they have mean and kinky sex at Sylvester’s house, right after the scene where Leo crashes Eloise’s dinner party. This is the part where they have a loud argument and get a lot of things on the table and Sylvester realizes he has some unexamined sexual skeletons in his closet. This one I do plan on doing eventually, but it will be a while because I want to write it with my friend and it will take a long time for us to get everything right
5 takes place during the trial, it’s gonna be a smaller scene with more mind games by Leo so I might honestly knock this one out between big projects, not sure when tho. 6 is after the trial which you already read,
7 is blackthorne, I’m kinda hands off this one but it’s in place of/after the normal office scene that happens in canon… just with spanking and crying lol
And 8 is wife stage, which is probably the next one I will do. Aptly summarized by my friend as “the understanding that Leo Wins so Sylvester can have fun things like safewords,” (not that Leo would teach Sylvester about RACK) it takes place after Leo saves Sylvester from the mess he engineered for him and keeps him as a pet in his apartment. All of the harder kinks or the stuff that we agreed would normally be a hard limit for Sylvester (like taking pictures, collar+leash etc) are all game for this stage since Leo is now running the show. Sylvester gets used to his new life and ends up enjoying himself quite a bit. Obviously an extremely fucked up dynamic but one that weirdly ends up working out for him after everything is said and done— I am being careful to have Leo setting up dominoes as early on as crypt fic.
This is also the place where I get to explore more of my personal gender HCs for Sylvester, one of which being that he is not a cis male. He still uses he/him pronouns by wife stage but Leo also puts him on estrogen and starts spending thousands of dollars on beautiful dresses for him to wear around the house and even hatches plans to debut him at some big event or other, so you know. There’s a lot going on there even outside of their sex life but *gestures to the Everything* the focus is going to be on their sex life. Obviously . But Leo gets the outlet he has always wanted and Sylvester gets spoiled rotten in his gilded cage <3

"Hiding?" Christopher said. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Liz wasn't impressed, "Uh-huh. It never takes you that long to answer the door. Not unless you're hiding something. What did you do?"
"I could have been hesitant, what with the recent string of Apothecary murders."
Liz rolled her eyes. "'Cause murderers are known for knocking. Besides, you wouldn't have shouted, "Coming!" after the second knock if you thought it was someone who meant to do you harm. What did you do?"
"Nothing you have to worry about?" Inwardly Christopher winced when it came out sounding like a question.
"Why did you phrase that like a question?"
"Do you think I'd let Christopher do something stupid?" Tom asked, finally cutting in.
Christopher sent Tom a grateful look but Liz barely paused before she dismissed Tom's words. "I think you'd do your level best to stop him. Before he did it, anyway."
Tom opened his mouth to retort before he closed it and nodded. "Yeah, okay, fair point."
"Tom!" Christopher shouted.
"What, not my fault your sister knows you better then you want her to."
Christopher rolled his eyes. "I'm not doing anything bad."
Liz gave a grin and clapped her hands, "Great then you won't mind if I take a look around back."
"I would, actually; that's Master Benedicts study and he doesn't like anyone in there."
"Then what was Tom doing back there?"
"Uh..."
Liz didn't seem to see anything wrong with her line of thinking, because she moved around Christopher and Tom and made her way to the back.
For a moment, they heard nothing, and Christopher and Tom held their breaths hoping that she hadn't found it.
"Have the two of you completely lost your minds!" she shouted back at them. "A cannon in the shop of extremely flammable ingredients! Do any of you have any brains inside of your skulls at all?"
"It was perfectly safe."
"I swear, Christopher, if I look behind the counter and I see you've hidden gunpowder..."
"I don't know how to make gunpowder."
"Then why make the cannon."
"Got you there," Tom whispered to Christopher.
"Honestly, Christopher. What were you going to aim at, anyway?" she said as she left the back room.
Not even bothering to continue pretending that it was merely for decoration, Christopher sighed and pointed to the cauldron that he'd been thinking of using.
Liz just stared at the cauldron for a few more seconds before turning to Christopher. "How... in the Hell did you pass your Apprenticeship exam?"
"Excuse me?"
"A metal cauldron? A metal cauldron? Do you have any idea how dangerous that is?! If you hit the cauldron there's every chance, the ammo could ricochet and hit you."
"Uh..."
"Gosh, if you're going to break the law, could you at least do it in a way that won't leave you homeless or dead afterwards?"
edit: Thanks for @theriu for the edits! I think I got all of them

If I Catch Fire, Then I’ll Change My Aim
They’d been driving for what seemed like forever at this point, but they were finally in the countryside and Alastair could stop using Thomas’s magic.
But Alastair hasn’t stopped driving.
He keeps turning into smaller and smaller roads until he suddenly hits the breaks, jerking them both forward. Alastair parks the car halfway into a ditch and runs out of the car towards the trees surrounding them.
Thomas grabs and the keys and follows him, past the tree line, until he trips over a branch in the darkness
“Alastair!” he shouts “Alastair!”
He trips again, stumbling against a tree.
“Alastair!” There’s a blaze of fire ahead of him, deeper into the trees. Shit.
“Fuck off, Lightwood!” Thomas hears him yell. He takes off towards his voice and the light that follows.
Another shot of fire, this time is ends up on a branch, illuminating Alastair’s hiding place. He was sitting under a tree, head in hands, knees drawn up to his chest.
What was he doing? Playing with fire? He’s extremely flammable, has he forgotten?
“What are you doing?” he yells desperately. “Put. It. Out.”
Alastair doesn’t answer. He’s shaking so hard.
And it wasn’t because of the bitter cold surrounding them.
“Alastair, it’s all right. We’ll get the name from someone else, we don’t need Jesse. This isn’t over. We’re going to do what your father asked us to.”
Alastair swings his wand and growls in frustration, spraying more fire around them. “This is what my father would want for me, you idiot.”
Thomas drops to his knees in front of him, deciding not to risk his fire by touching him. “What are you even talking about?”
Alastair sneers at him, baring all his teeth, needle sharp fangs and all. “My father died killing vampires,” he says. “And when they bit him, he killed himself. It’s the last thing he did. If he knew what I am…He would never have let me live.”
Thomas is dumbfounded. That couldn’t be true.
“That’s not true. He loved you. He called you his ‘rosebud boy’.”
“He loved what I was!” he shouts back. “I’m not that boy anymore, I’m one of them now.”
“You’re not.”
“Haven’t you and your little band of thieves been trying to prove I’m a monster since we were ten? Crowley, Lightwood, you have your proof now! Go tell the Headmistress-tell everyone for all I care, that you were right.” Alastair’s tone was laced with venom. His face is dancing in the firelight. Thomas can’t help but think that he looks beautiful. “I’m a vampire, Lightwood! Are you happy now?”
“You’re not,” he says and he doesn’t know why. And he doesn’t know why he has started crying either.
Alastair looks surprised. And irritated. All at the same time, as complex as ever. “What?”
“You’ve never bitten anyone.”
“Fuck. Off.”
“No!”
Alastair’s head drops into his arms again and he groans. “Seriously. Just go. This fire isn’t for you.”
Thomas grabs his wrists and pulls. “That’s right, it can’t be. You always said you’d make sure there was an audience there when you finished me off.” he pulls on him again. And again. “Come on.”
He wants to put magic behind those words. But that isn’t fair. Not to Alastair.
Alastair doesn’t fight him, he just slumps forward, like he’s already dead. Well, Thomas supposed he was. Vampires were undead creatures after all. A cloud of sparks settles near him, and Thomas growls at them, making them blow out.
He lifts up Alastair’s chin, hoping for a reaction. “Alastair.”
“Go away, Lightwood.”
“You’re not a monster.” he says and he means it. Alastair’s skin is colder than death in his hand. “I was wrong. My friends were wrong. All those years. You’re a bully. And a snob. And a complete asshole. But you’re not one of them.”
Alastair tries to jerk his face away but Thomas is quicker than him. He opens his eyes and they’re pools of black and pain, pain that Thomas has always ignored. But he can’t now. Not when it’s staring him down.
The fire blows back. Thomas can’t stand it.
“This is what I deserve.” Alastair says.
Thomas shakes his head. “Well, it isn’t what I deserve.”
“Then go.”
He can see the fire flickering in Alastair’s eyes, which means it was surrounding them now. They had no place to run now.
“I won’t.” he says. “I’ve never turned my back on you. And I’m not starting now.
Alastair looks at him, broken, his wand in his hand.
Thomas keeps talking, but Alastair looks like he can’t hear him anymore. Like he stopped listening completely.
He hates seeing him look like that.
“Thomas,” Alastair whispers.
And then Thomas kisses him.

Road to Hell (Wait for Me, I’m Coming) Part Two - Kit / Ty Hadestown AU
(Part One)
Ty rubbed his face tiredly, as he stared at another chicken-scratch parchment in the Unseelie Court’s library. He looked up and saw that Dru was fast asleep, gently snoring into her crossed arms, while Anush was dazedly flipping through pages of a huge leatherbound book. Mark had left a while ago, muttering something about getting some food for them but he hadn’t returned yet.
Ty looked down at his research, the collected notes he had written over the last day and a half and suddenly it seemed pitiful, compared to the task ahead. Ty could feel the panic rising, his chest tight and he concentrated on the feel of the rough paper underneath his fingertips. He had to get Kit out of Hell and he was taking notes, like he was back in the Scholomance and this was an assignment, instead of… instead of the most important fucking thing in the world.
He hadn’t told Kit how he felt yet. They had only just re-entered each other’s lives over the past two months and were still doing a wary dance as they relearned each other’s steps after three years apart.
There had been a hesitant scene in the L.A. Institute’s atrium when Kit had strolled in, almost as if he had never left, all sunshine gold hair, eyes the colour of a clear autumn sky, and a husky voice with just the slightest hint of an English accent.
There had been the angry, sparse time when Helen had sent them on a patrol together and they had strode along in miserable silence until Kit had finally stopped him and asked where Livvy was- and Ty had snapped back at him, the wound still raw, that he was trying to make amends for everything he’d done but he’d had to do it alone and he wasn’t ready to talk about it. The fragile moment when Kit’s face had crumpled briefly and he told Ty he was sorry he had left and that Ty had had to do it alone. And the appearance of the Raum demons a minute later, interrupting them- but then the glimpse of how it could be, as Kit had stopped him after the attack and insisted on drawing the iratze on Ty’s forearm, his face a study of concentration as they sat in the car before driving back to the Institute.
There had been fleeting, glorious moments in the training room when they had sparred, the pretence of combat a freeing sensation for Ty, as he felt able to finally touch Kit and the look Kit had given him, his breath an uneven whisper on Ty’s collarbone after he pinned him to the floor, almost helping Ty make his decision. But it hadn’t been enough - and the agonising choice of whether to knock - and still being a coward and walking away, almost too quickly, from Kit’s door.
And then that moment in the clearing. When Kit had done the stupid, honourable Herondale thing and sacrificed himself for the rest of them. Ty didn’t think he’d do the same if the situation was reversed - but then again, he was a Blackthorn.
From far away, he could hear a tearing, ripping sound and he came back to himself, noting the confetti of yellow parchment floating down to the ground around him, as he paced back and forth, paper strewn around him and his hands moving almost mechanically as he shredded his carefully taken notes.
Anush looked over at him, finally noticing Ty’s pacing and his eyes widened. And just then, Mark re-appeared in the doorway, carrying a large tray. He let out a curse as he saw Ty, almost knocking over the tray in his hurry to put it down. He crossed the room quickly to stand in front of Ty, gentle as he placed his hands over his brother’s as he clasped them a firm grip. This time, Ty let him in and he drew in a few deep, shuddering breaths as he let the small remains of paper drop.
“It’s all right,” he told Mark. “I have them all memorised.”
Mark nodded. “It’s wise to not leave the notes to Hade unguarded,” he said. He paused. “Although perhaps a bit unkind to the brownie cleaners - but no matter, I’ll arrange to speak to them.”
There was a stretch of silence. “I’m leaving tomorrow morning,” Ty said. “I can’t wait too long- we don’t know if time moves differently in Hades compared to the rest of Faerie and I can’t risk it.”
Mark’s eyes searched Ty’s face - not seeking eye contact but a different kind of reassurance. He seemed to find it, and he dropped Ty’s hands. “Then we’ll prepare to go together - you’re not going alone,” he said. A chorus joined in - a rousing if slightly terrified response from Anush, and a sleepy affirmation from Dru, who appeared to have just woken up.
Ty felt a brief moment of terror that he was bringing more people into what his research told him was likely a suicide mission… but the ice cold shiver of memories and Livvy’s pleading, drained face swam into view and he swallowed his protests. He didn’t think he could go through it alone again.
The ivory keys of the grand piano were always immaculately polished and Kit wondered whose job it was to clean them. His job was to play the music and he thanked - well, it wasn’t God and it wasn’t the Angel Raziel - but he thanked his lucky stars that he had picked up some basic songs from Jace the previous summer when he had visited the New York Institute, and that Jem had considered learning to read music by sight an essential part of a well-rounded education, alongside Kit’s Shadowhunter training and mundane school.
In contrast to the bright electric fluorescence that lit the warren of overly warm machinery-filled rooms that Kit had started to refer to as Hadestown, Persephone’s conservatory was different, with its faded white, latticed walls and high glass ceilings letting in the smallest fraction of outside light.
It reminded him of where he had lived with Jem, Tessa and Mina - in… C- In Cir- Kit’s mind stuttered. He didn’t know how long he had been here - the days were starting to blur together and he was worried he was starting to forget more than just the little things.
He stared down at the piano keys as the large ornamental clock on the wall struck eleven. Like clockwork precision, Persephone waltzed in, her movements sultry but sulky as always. She threw some new music books at Kit and he caught them awkwardly, balancing them on his lap.
“These ones - I don’t care which one you play first today,” she said, sitting down on the long fainting couch across from him, her black hair spilling over the white satin fabric as she rested her head. Kit tried not to stare at her deep decolletage, which was prominently framed by the tight red dress she was wearing. She noticed as he turned away and her gaze was hungry as she looked at him.
Kit looked down as he chose a music book and blindly opened it to a first page he saw. He started playing, a crooning jazz number singing out underneath his fingers. He didn’t know if it was because he was in Faerie or the spell he could feel he was under but he was a much better musician here than in the mundane world. The tight, lost look on Persephone’s face began to relax as the melody echoed in the conservatory.
As he finished the first song and began another, his movements almost automatic, Kit allowed himself to think again, of escape - of returning to the land of the living - to his family, to the Shadowhunter institutions he was slowly becoming accustomed to again, to… Ty. To what might be between them, although he had almost strangled that hope, locked it away tight and deep inside his heart. What they had resurrected - if that word could be used - given previous circumstances was almost a miracle, Kit thought, hard fought for and one that he hadn’t been about to throw away on foolish too-soon declarations of love. Even so, when he had seen that faerie arrow aimed straight at Ty’s heart, he hadn’t hesitated. He might not be ever able to tell Ty how he felt but at least he had been able to show it in his actions, he mused.
And he wasn’t about to give up on leaving this hellhole, although each unrelenting day in this dull, dark and depressing place of dust and hollow-eyed workers pulled at that hope. But he clung to his memories - to the now-dimly lit memories of the outside world. Of his love for a black-haired, grey-eyed boy with his sharp intellect and fierce love of his family, who saw the world in a different light than most, and was - had been willing - and maybe, might be willing again to share it with Kit.
The last note rang out as he finished the song and he drew his hands back, muscles aching. He had been playing for nearly an hour. In the sudden silence, Persephone let out a ragged sigh.
“Who is the love that you play for, boy?” she said, her voice ancient and rough. She rose from the couch and crossed the floor, her dress swishing across the smooth marble. “I have heard many love songs in my years… but yours is one that I haven’t heard in an eon. Tell me their name.” Her green eyes glistened with unshed tears.
But Kit remained silent. He knew instinctively if he said Ty’s name, he would lose it. He shook his head, his lips pressed together.
Persephone narrowed her eyes, and she reached out, as if to stroke his brow. Kit evaded her and stood up. He had been coming to play for her for several times now, and he had started to learn her ways. He needed a distraction. “I saw that crack in the wall- is that new, Persephone?” Kit lowered his voice as he gestured across the room. “I know you’re a captive as much as I am. Let me help you- we can escape together and then I will tell you.”
Persephone’s laugh was as dry as a winter’s wind as she sized him up. “Oh, that’s adorable, my sweet-” she said. “But I made my choice long ago and it’s--” her eyes suddenly moved past him. “It’s the love I deserve,” her voice suddenly was filled with honey and springtime.
Kit knew that Hades had arrived, and he tried to quell the fear rising in him as he turned around.
The man - fae - god or whatever he was - was standing in the doorway, casually watching them.
“Leave him,” he said in his deep voice. “I desire your company.”
Persephone swept past Kit without another word and draped herself across Hades. “Of course my darling- I am here. What shall we do?”
Hades took a moment to whisper into her ear and Persephone looked uncomfortable but let out a deep, throaty chuckle. “Of course.”
Hades smiled, with a devilish twist and he pulled her away, starting down the hall.
But then he stopped and looked back at Kit. “Your shift here has ended - get back on the assembly line.”
Kit looked down at his rough worker’s uniform, smeared with rust and dust and he forced himself to nod evenly - he knew from past experience that it was unwise to argue with Hades.
Hades’ firelit eyes swept over him. “And once that is over - come see me in my office.”
And at that, Kit knew that he was in trouble. Hades had summoned him twice since his arrival to his office, after the initial contract signing. Each time afterwards Kit had found himself weak and gasping on the floor outside, his mind blank and unsure of what had passed behind the walls of the office. Nothing good, he thought grimly - and that was likely the cause of his increasingly fuzzy memory recall.
He needed to escape and soon. He nodded again and Hades left with Persephone. Kit started to make his way to the factory floor. On his way out of the conservatory, he bumped into a small, bird-framed girl with a luminous beauty and whose too-large eyes must have been lively once but were now faded and glazed over with the thousand yard stare that all Hades’ workers had. That he might soon have. “What’s your name?” Kit asked the girl, trying not to sound desperate.
She looked up at him. “I- Eu- I…” she looked puzzled and sad. “I don’t know.” she said.
Kit felt a stab of despair.

Blackthorn Detective Agency - Part 2
Part 1 || Ao3 || Masterlist
This is the KitTy Sherlock AU! (Just changed its name with something more like a fic's title)
It’s set in 1930s, slow burn & will have a few parts!
Words: 3 024
Ty rubbed his fingertips on the frame. It was old, its angels were soft.
“Peru, 1890,” he read at the bottom of the photo. “This photograph is from more than 40 years ago.”
Which wasn’t unusual for a warlock - they lived for centuries. To keep photos from 40 years ago was logical. But why was this the only thing in this flat that was actually… personal?
“It's the only personal piece here,” Kit said. Ty almost smiled - they had the exact same thought. “Probably in the whole flat, except the Spanish books.”
“You have a point,” Ty agreed. Between the pages of that book were papers with conjugated verbs in Spanish. Someone had written them there and Ragnor had copied them. That’s why Ty knew this wasn’t Ragnor’s handwriting on the photo. “But this is not his-”
A sharp sound interrupted him. It was the front door. Someone was trying to break it. Not as good at it as Kit, Ty noticed.
They had no time to worry too much. Ty grabbed Kit by the hand, opened the wood door with the other that was still holding the frame and dragged them both inside.
Ty was conscious he overstepped in Kit's personal space but a moment later they heard how the stranger broke the lock and their steps as they came inside.
The room was small and extremely dark. Ty couldn't see anything and he didn't have the space to draw a rune on himself about it. And he actually didn't have his stele in him. The bigger problem - the room was unknown to them. He was worried if they moved too much they'd make noise and would be exposed.
He heard or rather felt how Kit's breath fastened. Was he claustrophobic? Was it a bad idea to bring them in this small room?
Ty heard the slow steps as they were wandering around the room. They were coming dangerously close to the bedroom.
This was probably inappropriate and Ty didn't know if it would help at all but he must try. He carefully raised a hand and hurried it in Kit's hair. He dragged him closer to Ty until Kit's head was in Ty's neck.
He squeezed a little and Kit pressed against Ty. They both hold into each other in the sea of darkness, trying not to lose balance.
Ty was hearing the stranger's step in the room. They murmured something angrily. Ty was barely breathing. If they heard him and Kit in the closet…
A loud shatter interrupted his thoughts. Ty recognized it was a man's voice by the angry murmur.
For a few more minutes he walked around the apartment, like he… he was searching for something. And he couldn't find it. Eventually the man breathed out heavily and opened the door, not bothering to shut it quietly after himself.
They waited a few more minutes, just to be safe. Then Ty carefully let go of Kit and opened the door. The sudden light hurt his eyes so he squinted for a while to get used to it.
The bed was untouched but Ty couldn't say the same about the living room. There were books on the floor, the table was inverted.
“He was searching for something,” Kit quietly said as he carefully grabbed a book from the floor. Was Ty imagining it or his face was a little flushed?
“Yes,” Ty agreed. He was still holding the frame with the photo. “But what? Could it possibly be this?” He handed the frame to Kit.
Kit took it and shrugged. “Maybe. But why is one old photo important?”
More questions. Even though they were in the very beginning and everything was unclear, Ty felt the thrill every new case evoked in him. The burning curiosity that tickled his insides, the thirst to know everything about the subject.
“I think we should go,” Kit said. He took the photo off the frame and put it in the pocket of his coat. “They may return or a neighbor heard the noise.”
Kit had a point, Ty thought but there was something that made him feel uneasy.
Kit was heading for the door but Ty slowed down before leaving the flat. He looked around once more. The books on the floor, the almost empty shelves and the open door to the bedroom. Ty grabbed one list with Spanish verbs and closed the door after himself.
      After this they went to the train station. It was surprisingly hard to find the schedule for the trains from a few days ago.
The guy they talked with wasn't happy about it. Kit could see he just wanted to enjoy his lunch. And probably was tempted to call the security to throw them out.
But then Ty pulled out cash and the man was suddenly more friendly.
Ty didn't talk much nor did he look man in the eyes. Kit was feeling like he just wanted to get the information as fast as possible.
After the man was gone for a few minutes he returned with paper with what they asked for.
“Thank you very much,” Kit said as Ty put the list in the inside of his coat. “We appreciate your help.”
The man murmured something and sat heavily on his chair, finally able to eat.
“That was smart,” Ty said as they came out on the street, waiting to catch a taxi.
“What?” Kit asked.
“To ask for the people who worked on the train that day. I didn't think about it.”
“It's nothing, really. I was just thinking about what I can do to help yesterday.”
The truth was Kit just wanted to be useful. Part of him was afraid if Ty noticed Kit wasn't doing anything he would fire him. He probably wasn't as good as Sherlock but he could understand how a criminal thinks. What they may have missed.
“I assume you already know because you're good at what you do, but,” Kit said. “People are important. They witness, tell, see and do crimes. They... they are the driving machine. Evidence is important but a person is the key. So I just thought about what people we can talk with.”
There was something thoughtful in Ty's expression as he watched Kit's cheek. “I'm not quite sure I agree.”
Before Kit could answer, a taxi stopped in front of them.
As soon as Ty told the driver the direction, Kit said “Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why don't you agree with me?”
“Well,” Ty said and the thoughtful look returned on his face. “It's true a person is the subject that commits the crime. But people… they are not what they appear to be. They're often hard to understand and you can't be sure who they are. They lie. And have inaccurate memories and sometimes are too afraid to tell the truth and to help. What I'm trying to say is that they're too often an unreliable source. While evidence… it's unchangeable on its own. Oneself is true to the very end. It's up to you to interpret how it fits in the whole picture. If it's wrong, it's your mistake. You're the only one to blame. While a person's words… you can't control that. Or trust it enough to interpret it rightfully.“
Ty stopped for a second, looking outside the taxi's window.
“What I'm trying to say is that a person can mislead you. Evidence never does.”
Kit was silent. The taxi pulled over in front of a small cafe, nestled between two clothing shops. Taki's Diner .
Kit remembered this was the name of the place Katarina and Ragnor met.
“We are going to question the employees?”
“Not quite,” Ty said simply and headed towards the restaurant. Kit followed, curiously looking at the surroundings.
There weren't many people. It was still early and most of them seemed sleepy. There were Downworlders as well as mundanes. Kit spotted a warlock with fully orange eyes flirting with a pale girl, probably a vampire.
There was also a mundane man who was reading a newspaper and murmured something to himself.
Ty headed at one table on the back, a bit hidden from the rest. The tables around it were empty. From the radio quietly came a Louis Armstrong's song. Kit smiled at that. He loved jazz.
Ty and Kit sat on the table. Kit took off his coat and cap.
A faerie waitress appeared in front of them and smiled. She was a short blonde who had two many bracelets on her arms.
“Hello gentlemen,” she smiled at them. “Here are your menus - look at it, choose a meal and I'll come to take your order.”
“Thank you,” Kit smiled at her. She winked in return and headed towards another table.
He returned his eyes on Ty. He had taken off his coat. It was carefully placed on the third chair on the table. He was looking around the cafe, touching the corners of his menu.
“If we're not here to interview the staff,” Kit said. “What are we here for?”
“To watch,” Ty said simply. “Observe. Talk with the regular clients.”
Kit looked around again, looking for something else this time. A woman who Kit immediately recognized as faerie sat on a table, crossed her legs and took out a book from her bag.
The waitress returned after a few minutes.
“Are you ready?” She had a notebook and pencil in her hands.
Kit hesitated. He didn't want to spend too much money but nothing here was too expensive.
“Onion omelet for me.”
“Chipped potatoes please.”
She hurriedly wrote their orders down and smiled again. “Is that all?”
“Yes, thank you,” Ty said.
“Actually,” Kit said suddenly. Ty quickly looked at him but didn't say anything. He looked at the waitress pin with her name. “Nancy, right? My friend and I were wondering about something and it would be amazing if you can help us.”
“Of course,” she said and curiosity burned in her eyes. They were very blue.
“We thought a friend of ours arrived in the city a few days ago. He tends to like this place and we were wondering if he was here a few days ago perhaps?”
“What is he like?” she asked.
Kit took out the photo from Peru of Ragnor and his friends.
She took and Kit could see on her face she recognized someone in the photo. She nodded enthusiastically.
“I have seen two of these people! The man with the white hair. He was here around three days ago with the woman.”
“Can you tell us something… unusual you noticed about them?”
The waitress - Nancy - shrugged.
“The usual warlocks. They stayed for an hour or two and then left. At the end of my shift he returned though.”
“Really?” Kit said casually, like he was merely curious for a friend. “Was he alone?” Then he leaned forward a little and said more quietly with a playful smile. “We suspect he may hide a lover from us.”
The faerie chuckled. “I don't know sweetheart. When I was leaving he just sat on a table. I left before seeing anything. You can ask my friend Lizzy. She was the one who took his order.”
“Oh. When can we find her?” Kit asked.
“She starts at 11 p.m. Earlier if it's cloudy.”
She must be a vampire , Kit thought.
“Thank you so much,” Kit smiled at her one more time. “We deeply appreciate it.”
“You're welcome,” she chuckled again and left them alone.
Kit turned to Ty and caught him watching him.
“You see?”
Ty looked confused. “See what?”
“People are useful. You need witnesses.”
Unexpectedly, Ty smiled. It warmed up something in Kit's chest.
“I have never said I don't.”
“But you hinted at it.”
“I did not,” Ty said. Without taking his eyes off Kit he reached to his coat and pulled off his notebook. “I stated that people are often misleading.”
“But when I said people are important for a case, you said you're not sure you agree.”
“You also said a person is the key. With which I'm not sure I agree. I didn't say a person can't or isn't important.”
Kit exhaled. Damn , he thought. He is good.
“Good. You win. This time.”
Ty shook his head with a smile. He started to write something on the open notebook in front of him. Probably the information the faerie told them.
After a few minutes their meals arrived. Onion omelet and chipped potatoes. Ty barely looked at his food. At some point he finished writing and took the fork for the potatoes.
“So,” Kit said after swallowing a bite from the omelet. “If you're Sherlock Holmes then who am I?”
“What do you mean?” Ty glanced at him.
“Well,” Kit slowly cut out another bite from his food. “You and Livvy are a team. And you're Sherlock. I can't be a Sherlock with you. I'm not her. So I probably need another name.”
“Good point,” Ty said. He looked thoughtful while he chewed. “How do you wanna be called then?”
Kit was caught off guard a little. He expected Ty to dismiss it or leave it for later.
“I haven't thought about it,” Kit admitted and slowly moved an omelet piece from one side of the plate to the other.
“We can think about it later,” Ty said. “My sister can help us with that.”
“You mean Livvy?”
“No,” Ty said, looking around the restaurant. “My other sister, Dru.”
Kit blinked at him. “How many siblings do you have?”
“Three sisters and three brothers,” Ty said and took a potato piece in his mouth.
“Whoa,” Kit said, forgetting the food in front of him. “Big family.”
“Indeed.”
Kit wondered what it would be like to have so many relatives. So many brothers and sisters. People close to you, to thrust, to be sure they would have your back.
His father's voice rang in his head. And more people to run away with. Harder to get away. Harder to live with.
The food's taste in Kit's mouth turned into ash. He lost his appetite. Carefully left on the fork and the knife in the plate.
Ty didn't seem to notice Kit's inner thought for which he was glad.
“The woman,” Ty said quietly. “The one faerie that sat after we came. She's a regular.”
“How would you know?” unconsciously, Kit leaned forward to hear what Ty had to say.
“Nancy, the waitress, didn’t ask her for her order. She even didn’t give her a menu. She directly put a coffee and a muffin in front of her. And the woman called Nancy by name - they know each other.”
“Impressive,” Kit murmured inattentively. “So, you want to talk with her?”
“Well,” Ty shrugged. “A few minutes ago - yes. Now, when we know Ragnor was here at nighttime, at the end of Nancy’s shift, I’m not sure she’d be useful.”
Kit rose up. “Let's find out.”
After a few minutes in which Kit started a conversation with her about borrowing the salt, he returned to their table with a salt shaker. He signed, disappointed.
“Nothing,” Kit said. “She had no idea what I'm talking about. And thought I'm just flirting with her.”
“Were you?”
“What?” Kit blinked.
“Flirting with her,” Ty said, not taking his eyes off the notebook in front of him.
“Well,” Kit felt a little uncomfortable. “Yes, I kind of did. But it was just for the sake of the case. I'm not… interested in her that way.”
Ty glanced at Kit's face for a few seconds then returned to writing in his notebook. Kit didn't notice. He was suddenly anxious that Ty would think of him as a flirting careless man.
“Sometimes,” Kit started, carefully picking his words. “I flirt with people to get what I want. When I was in my early teens - to get away with something.”
Ty curiously gave him a glance.
“Did you have to do it often?”
“Well,” Kit said thoughtfully. “No, no that often. But I did it anyway. I… I think I liked to give strangers pieces of me that are… safe to give. And gender doesn't matter to me anyway.” Nothing too personal. Nothing long. Only a flirt, a few minutes of other people's time. The only kind of relationship Kit could afford.
“I can see why people like you,” Ty said, rolling the pen in his hands. “You're a rather charming man.”
Kit couldn't help but laugh.
Ty frowned.
“Did I say something out of place?”
Kit shook his head. “No, no. It's just that I don't think I'm charming. Or that people like me . ”
"Charm" was an abstract idea for him. He may pass for good looking but he didn't think of himself as "charming". Charm meant power. It attracted people to you. It made them like you.
Kit didn't make people like him. He let them make an idea for him in their heads and allowed them to believe it. This wasn't a charm. It was lying.
Ty arched an eyebrow.
“Well. I would say I like you,” then he returned his gaze back at his notebook, adding something to the already written text.
His words caught Kit completely off-guard. He was holding his fork and it just levitated in space.
Kit didn't know how to react. No one before had said something like that to him. He knew Ty probably said it to make him feel better. But something made him think Ty Blackthorn didn't say things he doesn't mean.
“Anyway,” Ty said and closed his notebook. “We're done here.”
“Really? What about questioning the waitress Lizzy?”
“We will return here after sunset for this,” Ty said. “But now we can do something more useful with our time.”
Kit felt dread in his stomach. He couldn't stay after dark. Or could he? Would his father notice? He always did.
Should he tell Ty? No, no, he was going to figure something out.
“What are we going to do now?” he asked, hoping Ty didn't notice anything strange.
He looked at the watch on his hand.
“We will meet my sister. Dru.”

Pirate AU (Part Eight)
They stayed at Carstairs’ ship that night. The storm was still raging, a vicious reminder of what they had lost. Eugenia wasn’t close with Cordelia but she could recognize the change in her. Anger seemed to run just under her skin as she paced the length of what served as the living room.
“We must get him back. Immediately.”
Lucie stood and took her hand gently. She whispered something Eugenia couldn’t hear but some of the tension went out of Cordelia’s shoulders.
“How are we going to find him?” Thomas asked from his corner of the room.
Eugenia saw the shift in Thomas too. He could act quite recklessly when people he cared about were in danger and if the way he looked at Alastair was any indication, he did care quite a lot.
“I’m not sure. They have to be expecting us by now. I’m not sure what they’re going to do with-”
Cordelia’s voice broke off, tears sparkling in her eyes. In the brief silence Eugenia heard a soft thud outside. It could’ve been the storm, but something pushed her to stand. Murmuring that she would be back, Eugenia stepped into the rain, ducking under into the passageway.
“Kamala,” She muttered.
And indeed their enemy ships navigator stood before her, looking at her uncertainty.
“We’re doing this once more?” Eugenia asked, waving her hand to gesture to their situation. “Shouldn’t you be with the friend of mine you took?
“I told you that I would only spare you,” Kamala whispered, and Eugenia’s heart took a traitorous lurch. There was a long pause before she added; “Your friend is on the last floor of the ship. But Tatiana doesn’t plan to keep him there. Do not try to come and rescue him.”
“Where is she taking him? Why shouldn’t we go?”
Kamala shook her head making a frustrated sound. “I am sorry. I don’t know what she’s planning beyond that but if you go she will kill you. I…”
She stopped again, taking a shaky breath before continuing. “I will try to help you as much as I can but not if you plan something that ends in your harm.”
Eugenia took a hesitant step closer. “Why are you helping us?”
“I’m helping you.”
Their faces were closer now and Eugenia could feel the small amount of warmth coming off of her in the rainy winds. Kamala slowly brought her hand up to Eugenia’s hair, pushing a stray curl away. She didn’t take her hand away.
“Why do you want to help me then?” Eugenia breathed, afraid that if she spoke too loud Kamala would pull away.
Kamala smiled a little then, her lovely dark eyes shimmering with something Eugenia couldn’t place. Then she moved closer still. “Eugenia may I-”
Eugenia answered the question before she finished, pressing her lips gently against Kamala’s. She was fairly certain her brain melted, warm sparks lighting up her cold rain soaked skin. They broke apart and Kamala’s perfect lips twisted into a smile.
“I certainly have my reasons for helping.” She said softly.
She turned to the ladder and stopped again. Reaching into her coat she pulled out Eugenia’s longsword. Eugenia let out a soft noise of disbelief, trying to calm her heart.
“Be safe for me Eugenia.”
~~~
All Alastair could feel was panic. It seemed like the only thing that his mind could process. He was sitting in one of the cramped cells stacked near the wall as if there was any way he’d be able to escape even outside the cell. Mercifully they’d left his jacket on, the dreary weather cut through the wood as if it wasn't there. But he couldn’t focus on that. The room was dark and his hands were bound, if he closed his eyes his mind would take him to a different ship.
The Carstairs ship never housed traditional pirate swords and there was a reason for it. His father left a world of problems for him before his death, one of them being money. Alastair had to pay that price, he refused to let his mother or sister do it, and pirates had no legal or moral constraints when it came to revenge. If you couldn’t pay in money you’d pay in blood.
Memories rushed up before he could stop them, the deep cuts on his back and chest that he couldn’t feel because his body tried to protect him, the burn of the ropes binding him across his wrists, the dank smell of the prison he was held in. He remembered the way he had escaped that ship too. He’d lied to Cordelia, saying they were docked at a small village because of a job when in reality he was suffering for the actions of his father. So he snuck back into their own ship at night when she was asleep.
The next morning he faked sick, twisting in agony as the pain of his cuts finally sank in with nothing to block the unbearable burn. Cordelia still didn’t know the full extent, but Alastair knew she had her suspicions. It had happened a few years ago, a crew whose name Alastair’s mind had blocked out but he remembered their faces.
He forced his eyes open with a shudder, there was a slashed piece of fabric on the floor, a piece of a dress. His brain anchored to it, reminding him of where he was. There was a sudden groan of wood, and when Alastair looked up he saw the hole in the ceiling again, watched in faint interest a rope dropped down.
It was the silver haired girl. Grace Blackthorn.
He pushed himself up onto his feet, if he died so be it but he’d be damned if he died on the floor like a coward. She approached his cage and regarded him, a closed-off expression that he recognized. It was the same one he wore on his own face so often.
“My mother isn’t going to keep you. She wishes to put you at the mercy of the London government instead.”
Alastair arched an eyebrow. “Why? She wanted leverage, she has me now. Did she not want us dead?”
“She wants the Herondales dead. You interfered but she thinks killing you will cause a bigger outrage.”
In some ways it was smart. If Tatiana had killed him, Cordelia would have moved mountains to make sure her throat was slit. Leaving him to be imprisoned… it created a distraction and a shift in blame.
He said none of this. Instead he gestured to the locked bars. “Are you going to let me out then?”
Grace shook her head. “Not yet.” She handed him a glass of water.
Reaching out warily he took it, smelled the faint aroma of cinnamon. “This is drugged.”
A scowl. “Drink it. Either that or rot here while your sister tries to rescue you and gets killed while doing it.”
Alastair fought the urge to flinch and downed the cup.
~~~
Lucie gently stroked through Cordelia’s dark red hair, the taller girl had her head in her hands, rocking with her eyes closed.
Eugenia and Thomas were in the room, sitting near the fire as they talked. Lucie wondered about the slightly dazed expression on Eugenia’s face before her mind was snapped back to Cordelia.
“Lucie,” She whispered. Lucie looked at her dark eyes, smoky quartz surrounding the color of the night. If she wasn't rubbish at poetry she would've written for ages about that color. She already had inserted quite a few lines about it into one of her novels.
“Yes?” Lucie managed to respond.
“Thank you for staying. You didn’t-”
“I did. Do not thank me. Whoever hurts you Cordelia, I will hurt them back.”
Cordelia looked surprised by the outburst of violence, Lucie felt rather startled herself. Cordelia opened her mouth to say something but she was cut off by Eugenia hurrying towards them, a worried look on her face.
“What’s wrong?” Lucie said, quickly standing up.
“Alastair…” Eugenia started, glancing down at a letter in her hands and back up at them. “He’s in jail.”
“He’s where?” Cordelia asked her face furrowed in confusion.
“Jail. Like prison.”
“How did you know?”
Eugenia flushed though it could have been from the warmth of the room. “A letter. Probably from the Fairchilds. What do we do?”
“Cordelia,” Lucie said softly, tugging on her sleeve. “I know you want to save Alastair, we all do, but it will be better if one of us goes. The Fairchilds know us and we have a better excuse for being caught there.”
Cordelia’s expression shuttered a bit but she nodded, recovering quickly. “We can’t break him out now. If we do we risk making our entire family a target and if they start digging deeper into our history the fake identities will fall apart.” As if she was talking to only herself she added “He wouldn’t want me to put our mother in danger.”
Lucie felt distance surprise, she rarely heard about the elder Ms. Carstairs. From what she gathered, she was away, sick or something of that sort.
Cordelia gestured to Thomas, who had looked tense as a bowstring ever since Alastair’s abduction.
“You’re friends with Mr. Fairchild aren’t you?”
Thomas looked a bit startled. “Yes?”
“Could you go? Talk to Alastair and make sure he's okay?”
He nodded slowly and approached the girls. “Do you want me to tell him anything else?” His voice was low, meant for Cordelia’s ears only. Lucie tried to focus on the rain pounding outside or the crackling fire but she still heard when Cordelia responded “Just tell him I love him.”
~~~
Thomas didn’t know what he was doing. It felt strange, sneaking around the place that Matthew’s parents worked as if he was a criminal. He supposed he was given recent events. In complete honesty he felt relieved. He wanted so badly to help Alastair, even before he’d been taken. But the possibility of him dying was unbearable. Logically Thomas knew that he didn’t know much about Alastair, but he wanted to.
The room was dark, everyone but the prisoners were gone. Thomas managed to find his way into the cell room. It was nearly empty, there were only three cells and they served as a temporary housing. He approached the only one that was inhabited, pulling the keys from a hook near the door.
“Alastair,” Thomas hissed, barely able to see the smaller man.
The figure shifted and rose, making Thomas belatedly realize that he had been asleep.
“Thomas?” Alastair muttered, his face finally coming into the moonlight
He felt a knot of tension release when he saw that Alastair was mostly unharmed. Sliding the key into the lock he started to pull the door open but Alastair stopped him.
“You cannot.”
“I know,” He responded, still swinging the door open. Alastair regarded him with surprised eyes as he stepped into the cell propping the door open with one foot. Thomas’s gaze fell on Alastair’s arm.
“You’re bleeding,” he whispered, wrapping a hand around the other boy’s slim forearm, pulling him a little closer.
“It’ll be fine. It’ll scar over.” Alastair’s voice hitched on the word “scar”. When Thomas looked up he could see that his black pupils were dilated in the light of the moon. “You should leave before you get caught.”
Thomas nodded faintly before stepping back, his hands still tingling from where their skin made contact. He winced slightly as the door fell back into place and locked.
“We won’t leave you, Alastair.” He managed before turning back to leave the way he came in. And if Alastair whispered a response long after he left, Thomas wouldn’t know.
writer tag game
recommend 5 or more of your own works that you would rec to someone asking what they should read first & explain a little bit about the work. these can be the most popular, the ones you think are underrated, or your own favorites! then tag five (or more) other writers!
Thank you for tagging me @minisugakoobies...let me see what I can come up with.
Tea Prompts - This is a small list of one-shots/drabbles that gives you a glimpse of what I have to offer as a writer. Very light hearted work with a little steamy goodness on the side for some of them. (boyfriend au)
2. Got7 Reactions - A mix of fluff, angst and smut for the Ahgase in all of us
3. Consideration - This is a slice of life one-shot with Mingi from Ateez that focuses on how imperfect relationships can be. It's not always going to be sunshine and rainbows and that communication is a key factor is fixing things when they seem wrong. (boyfriend au)
4. Stupid Love - Is pure angst that focuses on I.M (Changkyun) of Monsta X. It's a one-shot and it was one of my very first kpop babies. (unrequited love)
5. Blackthorn - This is my most current work that focuses on Min Yoongi of BTS. It's filled with a lot of world building and descriptions of colors, outfits and so much more. By far the most work I have put into any of my fics. (fantasy au, soulmate au)
Tagging - @theharrowing @rkivian @vvh0adie @gimmethatagustd...and anyone else who would like to play.
Love and Legends Harry Potter Witch AU
Okay so starting this off I was inspired by @musicfeedsmysoul12 headcanon for Harry Potter MC which is located here
I had started this prior to whole JK Rowling tweets, and do not condone it. What she said was wrong and honestly the fact that pretty much everyone else involved in the Harry Potter franchise (at least major actors, etc.) have condemned what she said says something about her. I still wanted to show what I wrote for this headcanon. If you have any questions, feel free to dm me.
This is a bit long so it’s under the Read More.
August Falke
MC was in the Gryffindor house. She is a muggle-born witch who was in Hogwarts during the second Wizarding War. She went into hiding in her second year due to Voldemort taking over but was found.
Her parents were killed and she was captured by a Death-Eater. She managed to escape a month before the end of the war. She has PTSD over this and has occasional nightmares. When she does she usually places silencing charms on herself to not disturb anyone.
She returned to and continued her education in Hogwarts after the war ended. Her final year she joined the exchange program and went to Ilvermorny. She found she liked it better there, as memories of her family were no longer prominent. After graduation, she moved to Chicago and began to train as a healer there.
Her wand is made of Blackthorn wood, has a Unicorn hair for a core and is 13’’. It is a dark color intricately carved and is supple.
While she has a broom, she never played Quidditch. She just keeps one because her dad always joked that a witch should have a broom.
She races August on Wyndsor a lot for fun.
Only once has she managed to convince him to ride the broom with her. Only once and he vowed never again.
Her patronus was initially a falcon, but later became a horse.
She does not tell August right away what the change means, and is blushing so much when she witnesses it happen
She has an owl she named Icarus who is a Scops owl
It takes her and August a little longer to get along because of his suspicions and her magic. They are constantly arguing. MC sics Icarus on him a few times.
Icarus doesn’t like August for a long while either. MC literally has to have a talk with the owl when he keeps attacking the knight after they get together
August begins to trust her when he finds her working on making healing salves and potions or injured villagers. When asked how they would know if she wasn’t poisoning them, she cuts herself and puts a salve on herself, basically poisoning herself in the process if she did make a poison, then blandly asks if she can get back to work. Reiner and the other retainers find this hilarious, August not so much initially, though he later admits to her that he was mildly impressed by that.
After the ice crystal incident, and subsequently returning back to the castle, to prove she isn’t going to betray them, she gives them her wand. They don’t realize it’s the biggest sign of trust for her as she hasn’t let anyone touch her wand since she got it again after the second Wizarding War until much later.
She holds her items in a bag with an extension charm in it. It’s rather entertaining to see the other retainers' reactions to it.
She lets them try fire whiskey. Their reactions to it is hilarious.
‘It tastes like we’ve swallowed fire!’ ‘Yes that would be the point.’
MC begins to have nightmares of the Wizarding War again. She starts to put a silencing charm on herself so she doesn’t awaken August. At first August doesn’t notice, but when her lack of sleep begins to affect her, he does, resulting in him pretending to fall asleep and watching her. Witnessing her having a nightmare and realizing she had been going through this on her own was difficult to swallow.
After she returns from Chicago and when he’s still recovering from the stab wound, she finds that she can’t heal him either. It's an added frustration in that season because Reiner has asked MC to not tell August about his condition, and August thinks she’s punishing him for the whole thing.
 She tries to heal him the best she can with potions and salves as a work around, but it's limited in success.
When they are going to locate August’s family on the coast, MC talks about the ghosts in Hogwarts and tells some of the stories from The Tales of Beedle and Bard most notably the tale of the Deathly Hallows.
She has to get used to how different some species look in comparison to what she’s met in her world.
The curse makes her using magic extremely painful, so she has to not use it. It feels like the ice is spreading into her veins faster, and is debilitating for her. She can use small amounts of healing magic to blunt the edge of the pain, but it barely works.
She gets serious deja-vu vibes from Regin and just thinks...THIS is what Ollivander would look like as a dwarf.
She understands the concept of a sword having to be right for its wielder, as it is like the wand choosing its master, and is as helpful as she can be with trying to help August find his sword.
That doesn’t mean she likes Aisetha any more than usual though.
MC and August visit the MACUSA headquarters to see if there is any curse like the WQ curse on her as well as see if she can locate Aisetha. To say he was stunned by the Wizarding World is an understatement.
August gets to meet a house-elf while there. He laughs when he realizes why MC had such a hard time believing Iseul was an elf. He also understands why she was so incredibly thrown and got so jealous by how mermaids looked in his realm.
Aisetha doesn’t like her that much and she and it argue. She threatens more than once to get the Sword of Gryffindor for August. Eventually they have a respect for each other, but still argue.
As a joke they discuss what school houses their kids would be in. She knows that if any of their kids have magic, they would probably learn magic in the fantasy realm.
She’s initially nervous about the idea of any of her children having magic, due to the Witch Queen. August is quick to assure he would love them and their magic.
MC says he would have been in Gryffindor and occasionally will call him ‘her lion’. It makes him blush. He calls her a lioness.
Saerys
MC was in the Hufflepuff house. She’s a muggle-born witch. She was adopted by a family in England after she was found wandering around with no memory of her family as a little girl. She was the youngest, with two brothers of her adoptive parents. The second son was magic as well, though he was an unknown when Voldemort took over. One night deatheaters attacked their home. Her brother in a fit of stress became an Obscurus and killed the Deatheaters and accidentally killed their parents before expiring as well. Her adoptive oldest brother blamed her for his parents and brother’s death, and they are estranged because of it. She moved to the states at age 13 and finished her schooling at Ilvermony in the exchange program.
She becomes a Herbologist. Usually Saerys can find her in the gardens if she’s not with him. Many of time when she’s upset he finds her there
Her wand is made of Cypress wood, with a phoenix feather core, and is 10’’. It is lightly colored, roughly carved with a flower in the end, and is springy.
She has a pet cat named Rune. A black cat that she adopted, it seems smarter than most cats she’s met. Runes adores Saerys and if she isn’t with MC, she is usually following him.
Her patronus is a Dolphin.
The turbo mode freaks her out due to her younger brother, but once Saerys gets control, she relaxes.
Saerys learns about Obscurus and that due to the trauma of the war, MC’s younger brother became one, dying as he took down several Deatheaters.
When she finds out about the WQ soul, she’s not thrilled to discover that she was basically created to be a horcrux.
She knows about them from Harry Potter.
Taking him to the MACUSA is interesting. MC compares him to a kid in the candy store. He’s looking around all over the place and is just so curious about this world and how it differs from human Chicago.
Her fellow herbologists are low-key jealous about Saerys.
When MC and Saerys are in Chicago, they run into her adoptive brother and his family who were on vacation. She basically drags Saerys away, even as her brother calls out to her.
Saerys and her talk about it as they’re getting coffee. Saerys doesn’t push her, but does say that maybe sometime she should try to talk to him again. He wouldn’t push her to do it though. She quietly considers it unsure if her brother even wants to talk to her.
Later when they return to Chicago again, she does meet up with him and they reconcile to a degree. MC isn’t sure if she’ll be able to return to Chicago, so she’s happy that she’s able to mend fences.
While MC is still jealous when learning about the mermaids and Saerys’s relationship, she is also incredibly confused because mermaids aren’t exactly the most attractive creatures in the Wizarding World.
Imagine her surprise when she meets the mermaids and realizes just why Saerys talked about them like that.
Well at least he wasn’t saying she was more attractive than mermaids from the Wizarding World. That would have been a backhanded compliment.
Her magic is changed for a little while after Saerys gives her a part of his soul. Because of this, her wand doesn’t work correctly. While it still does spells some of them don’t work. It isn’t until the middle of season 4 where her magic begins to work properly.
Saerys helps her find books about plants and flowers of the fantasy realm. He gets an ecstatic MC and a bunch of kisses.
He had a stupid grin on his face for hours after that.
She manages to recreate the dish that Saerys had talked about. It’s not exact, but she manages to get it somewhat close. It’s a thank you gift to him and he is just stunned.
He spends quite a while after thanking her for that in his own way.
He doesn’t understand why she has to hide her abilities in Chicago. When she explains why, he is rather angry at the idea of her being punished for something that is a part of her.
The possession thing freaks MC quite a lot, because possession is never a good thing in her book, especially if it’s the souls of a dead race.
She has a broom and used to be a Seeker. She takes Saerys out for a flight just to see if he likes it
It’s not his favorite, but he definitely doesn’t mind going on a flight. He still prefers to be on the ground, but will do it occasionally as an escape.
She warns her friends in Chicago and in England about the WQ.
The idea of children has Saerys a little nervous because the idea of having a little witch/wizard with demon qualities might be a lot. MC is quick to deny it and says even if that is the case, she would teach the kid how to use their abilities.
Altea Bellerose
MC was in the Slytherin house. She’s a pure-blood witch but rejected her family's ideals about muggleborn witches and wizards. She was disowned in her fifth year and worked odd jobs to support herself for the rest of her schooling. She moves right after graduating
She later becomes a Hit Witch and is known for being one who jumps into the fray the quickest. She was chasing after a perp when she was struck by the lightning that sent her to the fantasy realm
Her wand is made of Acacia wood with a Dragonheart string, and is 9’’. It is lightly colored, ornately carved, and is rather bendy
She has a pygmy puff for a pet that she’s named Georgie. He’s pink, which MC finds ironic when she starts dating Altea
Apparently she just attracts the color pink.
She played Quidditch in her youth and was a Beater. No one who knew her is surprised about her choice in career.
Her patronus is a Raven. MC finds it hilarious that Altea’s nickname fits.
MC has a slight rivalry with Altea in the beginning. She cannot for the life of her understand why the spells here are so much longer in incantation.
In contrast, Altea doesn’t understand how she could use spells with such a small staff (it’s a wand!!!)
They both prefer offense over defense, though MC does know defensive spells more than Altea.
MC tends to dive in front of attacks to protect Altea. Altea is not amused about it and constantly gives MC grief and worry over her for it.
When Altea starts to lecture her about it, MC usually asks if Altea would do the same, and Altea would blush and look away.
Meeting the parents is interesting. Due to being a pure blood, she is able to use that pedigree to her advantage. She doesn’t tell them that she’s been disowned, and thankfully they don’t ask for more details.
Lional absolutely finds her amazing and asks questions about the Wizarding World.
Speaking of the other world, Altea is stunned by the Wizarding World and how they keep their magic a secret. MC explains that the humans there will try to find excuses for the unexplained.
She loves looking into the library
She also nearly died of laughter when she meets a house-elf. It takes quite a long time for Altea to look at Iseul and not start laughing.
MC takes Altea flying and the pink-haired wizard LOVES it. She can not get enough of the flying and there are many dates that involve flying, especially when Altea gains her wings.
Reiner Wolfson
MC was in the Hufflepuff house. She’s a half-blood witch. She was in her second year when Voldemort took over.
She stayed behind to help with the battle despite her age and was nearby when Colin Creevy died.  It had an impact on her and after she graduated she became an auror. She would later visit the states and actually like Chicago, deciding to stay there.
Her wand is made of Hornbeam wood with a Unicorn hair core and is 12’’. It is darkly colored, intricately carved and is considered unyielding
She has a snowy owl named Achilles.
When she calls for him to come back she says ‘Achilles heel!’. Reiner finds it hilarious, though there is much groaning to be had by the others.
She doesn’t wear the full armor, but does wear her auror robes with some of the armor pieces
She played Quidditch during her school years. She was a Chaser.
She basically drags Reiner out for a flight when he starts overworking himself. He actually enjoys it quite a lot.
Her patronus is a wolf
She does timidly suggest when they discover Aldric being alive that perhaps he’s under a spell, but she isn’t sure if they have spells like the Imperious Curse. Cue explanations on the Forbidden Curse.
Reiner is not happy when he finds out she was subjected to the Cruciatus curse when she was 12
Her father was non-magical and did not like the fact that his wife and daughter had magic and made it clear to both of them. It caused a lot of tension, and her mother partially blamed her for having magical abilities for her father hating her. It makes her nervous to marry, but she does love Reiner.
Her wand DOES NOT like when the WQ is partially possessing MC, and has a lot of issues. It causes MC to have to work on learning how to use a shield to compensate
When she finds Reiner and he doesn’t remember her, she goes through different spell books involving memory loss, but can’t find anything and doesn’t want to do any strange spells in case it possibly could hurt him.
Instead she tells Reiner what she is, showing him a simple spell, taking a leap of faith. All she sees is her mother and father and what happened between them.
As she inwardly panics, Reiner stands and pulls her close, thanking her for being honest and that it doesn’t change his feelings for her. She’s relieved.
She laughs in relief when the spell is broken by them marrying.
‘Professor Dumbledore always said love was the strongest magic there is. Guess he was right.’
She and he sneak into The MACUSA Security Department to get his armor. She pretty much breaks every rule to get the armor back.
Reiner is stunned by the Wizarding World and finds it beautiful. He asks her if she really wants to leave this. She kisses him and says she’s with him for better or worse. And she wants to stay by his side and he’s needed elsewhere.
Returning to the Fantasy Realm brings back memories to when Voldemort had taken over and she has to push back the childhood trauma from that. Thankfully Reiner is there and she’s able to focus on helping him.
She almost laughs at the irony of being a witch and marrying Reiner when he’s declared the next King.
The nobles apparently have the same thought and aren’t happy about it.
Reiner makes it clear that he’s marrying her and will not allow baseless rumors about her stand.
She does suggest making an Unbreakable Vow if it would ease the nobles' concerns, but when Reiner learns the stipulations as well as the risks, he shoots it down. He trusts her, the nobles will learn to deal with it.
Iseul Idreis
MC was in the Ravenclaw house. She’s a half-blood witch. Her mother was non-magical, and her father was a wizard. Her father left when she was young and her mother, unable to handle having a magical child, killed herself. She was raised in an orphanage after this. MC always felt guilty over what happened to her family.
She is a magizoologist. She’s very similar to Newt Scamander and has visited him multiple times. He helped her make her backpack to be similar as his suitcase, though it isn’t as elaborate as his.
Her wand is made of Chestnut with a Dragonheart string core and is 11’’. It is lightly colored, roughly carved and is rather flexible
While she has a cat named Leaf, she also has a Niffler she rescued. The Niffler attempts to steal items in the castle, much to MC’s dismay. The retainers and Reiner are...surprised and amused as MC shakes the Niffler to have it release all its loot.
Her patronus is an elk
She has a hard time believing he’s an elf, but keeps that thought to herself
Introducing Iseul to the creatures in her bag is almost amusing for MC. He is so enthralled by the creatures that she’s protecting.
A thunderbird is the newest of her collection and he seems to love Iseul. MC explains that hunters blinded one of the eyes and partially blinded the other. She had been able to rescue it and nurse it back to health, though she could never release him back into the wild.
Her and Iseul bond over the animals, her talking about the magical creatures in her world, him talking about the dragons in the Elf Kingdom
They have a lot of bonding time discussing the differences between her dragons and his dragons
She dislikes Jinhai ten times more due to her love of animals.
When they’re in Chicago, Iseul meets a house-elf that is MC’s landlord. He is...very much traumatized.
“That’s what you thought I should look like?!” “Well in my defense, I didn’t really have any other source to compare.”
The Idreis family actually wind up loving her due to her treatment of creatures.
You bet their butts they love MC’s bag as much as Iseul does
When Iseul is believed to be dead, the animals and creatures all get out of the bag and surround MC to comfort their protector and the child in her belly. They’ll protect MC in Iseul’s place if they need to. Thankfully that decision isn’t completely needed.
Iseul gets jumped by a lot of the creatures for cuddles
The WQ makes a mistake kidnapping MC. Because it’s not just Iseul that goes after her to rescue MC.
Iris and the Niffler become partners in crime. Mass chaos ensues.
Helena Klein
MC was in the Slytherin house originally before moving to America during the war and entering Ilvermorny, where she was placed in the Wampus House . She’s a muggleborn witch. Her parents are incredibly supportive of her and her magic. When Voldemort began to take over, her parents and her fled to the states.
She trained to be an obliviator and is quite skilled in it.
Her wand is made of Pear wood, with a Unicorn hair core and is 14’’. It is lightly colored, ornately carved and is considered reasonably springy.
She has a pet barn owl who she named Cleo. Cleo likes Helena, but prefers MC
Her patronus is a Lynx
Meeting Helena is...interesting. Her magic is so vastly different than hers, even with what Helena says that she is the WQ and MC trained her. MC highly doubts that.
MC talks about Chicago and the Wizarding World and Helena is fascinated by it.
MC grows concerned when she discusses her job and Helena wonders if she could make her forget certain memories.
MC is protective of Helena, especially in the Human realm, though Helena tries to keep MC from using magic.
When Helena loses her memories in Chicago, MC freaks. Because she can’t figure out what is wrong, and what spell was used and if there’s any counter-spell. She talks to her mother who calmly says to just get to know Helena again. The Helena that would have been had she not had magic or met the WQ. So she does.
When her memories return, MC can’t figure it out, but doesn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
When Alain is killed MC has to use several spells to calm Helena down, and puts a soft memory spell on her so she can think of good things about Alain and slowly filter in what happened to him so she can grieve properly
When they return to Chicago after defeating the WQ, MC introduces Helena to her parents. Helena is, naturally, terrified. However both of them absolutely love her and tease MC on how she got such a good looking woman. MC is embarrassed, Helena is just...surprised.
MC introducing Helena to her world of magic, and watching Helena grow into that is fun for MC. Though she sadly doesn’t enjoy flying.
Alain Richter
MC was in the Ravenclaw house. She’s a pure-blood witch. Her family was safe during the war, though she felt like she should have done more to try and stop it.
She became a potioneer
Her wand is made of Rowan wood with a phoenix feather core and is 10’’. It is darkly colored, intricately carved, and is supple
She has a pet cat whose name is Snowball due to her white fur. She finds the name ironic later on.
Her patronus is an Ostrich
She is startled when her ice powers emerge, because as far as she can remember her magic can only really be through her wand unless it’s accidental magic, and she should be old enough where it doesn’t happen.
Realizing that she came from here makes her wonder if her parents knew about this.
She’s incredibly good at making potions, and normally kept to herself doing such things.
The ice occasionally will mess with her results of ice, but it’s not that bad.
Alain panics when she burns herself on potions though she uses her ice powers to heal the wounds.
That doesn’t make him feel better when she shows him this. Instead it makes him worry more because what if she’s hiding something.
Freezing his heart scared her more than anything because she had never used magic like that, she didn’t even know it was possible to break it.
When the spell is broken she apologizes over and over again, clinging to him.
She talks about Chicago and the Wizarding World to Alain, and he’s stunned at what that world sounds like. He can’t imagine hiding magic away, but can’t necessarily blame them.
She does take him into the MACUSA to see if she can find any research about Libra and Umbra and goes shopping for potion supplies
He’s a bit creeped out by the apothecary
Alain actually quite enjoys flying. Not as much as horseback riding, but still.
When MC is told of her destiny, she’s not exactly thrilled that she’s become like Harry Potter in some regards.
When WQ is impersonating her, her wand DOES NOT WORK, which pisses of WQ because they should be the same person, and yet it rejects her.
Alain accidentally meets her parents in the real world. They don’t really approve of him, and want her to marry another pure blood, or at least someone with magic. Alain feels inadequate when they tell him this before MC basically yells at her parents that such ideas is what caused the Wizarding World in the first place
She chooses Alain, even if they have to disown her because of it.
At first Alain starts to object, but MC shuts him up with a kiss.
She’s more than willing to live her life with him than remain in the Wizarding world without him.
When they have kids, she promises she’ll teach them how to control their magic if they wind up with it. Alain is just happy she doesn’t say if, she says when.
@for-the-love-of-kitty Here you go!
Kit had barely gotten through the first month of his first year at Hogwarts when he landed in detention.
It wasn’t his fault, though. It was mainly his kleptomania to be blamed. It was maybe the fourth or fifth potions class when, without even realising it, Kit had tried to steal what was apparently a rare and very expensive ingredient, and very unsubtly too. Professor Bane, the potions master, had not been pleased.
Kit also may have gotten a little defensive and ran his mouth, saying some schmuckish thing about how Professor Bane shouldn’t be wearing too much glitter in a place where it could potentially contaminate the potions (which, obviously, it wouldn’t. He had no idea where that came from.). Also a lot of other things. Maybe his mouth was to blame more than his kleptomania.
Either way, he ended up in detention that evening, running some errands for the caretaker, Filch.
There was one other boy with him in that detention - Ty Blackthorn.
Ty was a Ravenclaw, the house famous for its brains. He had midnight black hair that tumbled down to curl against his jawline, and gray eyes that Kit had never seen up close. Ty was utterly, utterly beautiful.
That day, Ty had been sent to detention because, apparently, his behaviour had been deemed ‘inappropriate’ in class by some dipshit of a professor. Later Kit had found out what actually happened from someone else - apparently Ty hadn’t been paying attention, and when the professor confronted him, had refused to look him in the eye, which he took for disrespect and sent him to detention after docking several points from Ravenclaw. That was a long time ago, and now when Kit looked back on it, he was pretty sure there must’ve been more to the story.
Back then, he and Ty were complete strangers, and now, over the course of five years at Hogwarts, had become friends. Back then, Kit hadn’t known anything about Ty - only that he was a beautiful boy, and now he knew a lot.
He knew that Ty was different - but in Kit’s opinion, different was never bad. Where most people except for some rogue Gryffindors avoided the Forbidden Forest, Ty would often roam near its outskirts in his free time, hoping to catch a glimpse of the animals that roamed there. Ty loved spending time with the gamekeeper Hagrid, who had many tales to tell of dragons and giants. Though Ty’s gaze was faraway during Hagrid’s stories - or even Kit’s anecdotes of his life in the mundane world, for he was a half-blood - he would remember every important detail with clarity. Ty, whose hands fluttered like the butterflies of spring, whose eyes seemed to hold the keys to the world. Ty, who dreamed of becoming an auror and solving mysteries. Ty, whom Kit loved more than anything else in the world.
But Ty thought of Kit as nothing more than a friend.
Kit had many thoughts on that. He was honoured to be one of Ty’s friends, for Ty generally wasn’t the kind to mingle with people, and being one of his close friends was as precious as perhaps the rarest gem in the world. But it also stung like a wild bee at Kit’s heart every time Ty referrred to him as a friend. He never spoke up about it, though - he didn’t want to ruin his friendship with Ty. For him, being friends with Ty, being able to talk to him and seeing him every day was more than enough.
Presently he and Ty were walking by the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest, Ty’s gaze turned towards the forest. They were both sixth years, which meant they had lesser classes and more free time. Ty was looking very handsome in his blue and black Ravenclaw robes. Kit on the other hand, was decked out in yellow and black, the colours of his house - Hufflepuff.
He suddenly remembered a day, long ago, when he was confiding in Ty because someone had made fun of his yellow and black striped Hufflepuff scarf.
“Why would they make fun of you?” Ty had asked, and Kit had shrugged.
“Apparently it makes me look like a bee.”
“So?” Ty had said simply, “I like bees.”
That was another thing he liked about Ty - his simplicity, the way his train of thought flew straight like an arrow instead of curving and bending in unnecessary directions.
Kit watched as Ty spotted something in the shrubbery and ran over to it. He followed him, and saw, just in front of Ty where he knelt among the weeds, a large lizard like creature.
“A fire breathing Salamander,” Ty said, his voice low, and Kit remembered the glow in Ty’s face when he cast his first successful patronus spell. Kit had wanted to tell him in that very moment, I love you, Ty.
Ty’s face jerked up, his hand stretched out halfway to pet the salamander. “What?!”
Kit blinked. “What?”
Ty’s eyes were wide, and he seemed to be breathing hard. “What did you just say?”
Kit shifted slightly, a little worried at Ty’s tone. “I didn’t say anything.”
“You did,” Ty said, and stood up facing Kit. “You said, I love you, Ty.”
Kit realised that he had spoken it out loud, and wanted to smack himself. He spluttered, trying to come up with some excuse, when Ty placed his hand on Kit’s cheek and he went still.
Something stirred in Kit then, some sort of bravado, and he said, “I do love you, Ty. I have loved you for a long time. It’s just... it’s just so hard not to fall in love with you.”
Ty looked at him a long moment, then said, “I can’t believe I never saw it before.”
Kit was silent, half afraid that Ty would disown him as his friend, and that would be it. He wished that his mouth wouldn’t get him into so much trouble.
Ty smiled a little. Kit had no idea what to stare at, so he fixed his gaze upon the earmuffs hanging around Ty’s neck. Kit had stolen them long ago, from the Herbology class on mandrakes in his second year.
“Maybe that’s why they say love is blind,” Ty said. Kit looked at him in surprise.
“What?”
“I love you too, Kit,” he said, his hands fluttering against Kit’s cheeks as he cupped his face and kissed him on the mouth. Kit gasped, not entirely able to believe this was happening, the culmination of his longing for Ty over many years coming down to this one single moment, to the feeling of Ty’s lips against his.
And then Ty pulled away and gave Kit a broad smile, returning to the fire-breathing salamander as if nothing had happened. Meanwhile Kit’s mind was reeling, to the point where he confused monkshood with anabaena in the potions class a couple of hours later, much to the exasperation of Professor Bane. He even stayed up late into the night, lying in bed and brushing his fingers against his lips and wondering if it was just a wonderful dream.
It wasn’t until the next day, when Ty took him to his twin sister Livvy and told her that they were dating, that Kit knew he hadn’t dreamed it all.
Send me an AU, a trope and a prompt from this list + any ship from tsc and I’ll write you a drabble!
Do you have headcanons about which characters Alan meets in each region?
Brock — I feel like Brock would be a very good friend for Alan to have. They’re the same age in canon (15), which makes them peers, and aside from that Brock has a very soothing, nurturing nature, which is exactly the kind of friend that Alan needs after everything that happens with Flare. This is especially true since while Brock is kind, his kindness is true kindness in that he’s also firm when he needs to be, i.e. he’s not an enabler of untrue, self-deprecating thoughts. If Alan tried to blame himself for things that weren’t his fault, Brock would put a stop to that right quick, ripping the shovel from his hands and refusing to let him dig himself deeper. That said, I honestly imagine their meeting would be by chance; perhaps Alan goes to Professor Oak’s lab to run an errand for Sycamore and ends up hearing about how a couple of the Gym Leaders in Kanto have mastered Mega Evolution, and so he decides to check that out on his own before returning to Kalos, and that’s how he meets Brock. But either way, I think it’d be a good friendship for him and one that’d last for years.
Gary — I mentioned this in another post, but Alan and Gary already have so much in common that I just think it’d be neat to see them interact. They’re both nerds who care a lot about pokémon, they both love battling, they were both raised by regional professors, and so on and so forth. Mega Charizard X vs. Mega Blastoise Round II would also be really interesting to see. Though their areas of study are different, I think they’d have a lot to talk about, and the fact that they’re both fond of fieldwork would also be another point in favor of the two of them meeting. If Alan did that errand to Oak’s lab that I mentioned above, this could easily be how he meets Gary, who is perhaps home from his own travels for a little while.
Professor Oak — I mean, let’s just continue this “running an errand to Oak’s” thing, which means that he obviously meets Professor Oak. Alan is a studious young man who’s quite experienced in taking care of pokémon and I think Oak would appreciate that. I don’t think they’d get particularly close, both being focused on the research end of things (and Oak not being one to poach other professor’s assistants, generally), but they’d get along well enough, particularly since I’m sure Alan has a lot of respect for Oak given all his accomplishments in the field.
Tracey — RESURRECT TRACEY SKETCHITT 2020. Honestly, Tracey is Oak’s assistant and so it’s completely bewildering why he is nowhere in sight ever the few times we’re allowed to actually go to Oak’s ranch in the anime. In my world, though, he’s there, and while obviously Oak is his hero I imagine that he’s also very curious about Sycamore’s research as well and would probably jump at the chance to ask Alan all sorts of questions about it, and would be even more excited to draw pictures of Lizardon. Alan would be very happy to let Tracey draw pictures of Lizardon because it gets Tracey out of his personal space bubble and to stop asking him rapid-fire questions. (He doesn’t mind Tracey, but Tracey is very enthusiastic when it comes to gaining knowledge and that would make Alan feel kind of on-the-spot and uncomfortable.)
Delia — When what he has to do at Oak’s ends up having to run into another day (or another couple days), Delia, who happened to be visiting at the time and recognizes Alan as one of Ash’s friends (because Ash told her about him and showed him the picture that was taken of everyone at Sycamore’s lab) “invites” Alan to stay the night, and by “invites” I mean “insists” and so he gets a home cooked meal and a nice place to sleep (in Ash’s room) and also gets mothered for the first time ever in his life. Like, Sycamore is his dad, obviously, and Fulbert was his grouchy uncle, but both of those things aren’t quite exactly the same thing as having a mom, especially one who (though she won’t say it) knows you’ve been through a lot recently and can tell you’re still kind of going through it and so makes extra sure to give you a warm hug when you leave and also a bento with lunch and an extra pack of sweets to take with you. (And when he tries to apologize to her for putting Ash in so much danger she won’t hear of it because Ash told her that Alan saved him multiple times and that’s all that matters to her.) Alan won’t think of her as “mom,” of course, because he’s only known her a couple days and she most definitely is not his mom, but he does wonder, when she hugs him, if that’s what being hugged by a mother feels like, and it sticks with him for a while. All in all, Alan likes Delia, although he and Lizardon both don’t know how they feel about Delia calling Lizardon “Li-Li.”
And wow, this is getting really long, so all the rest (and there are a lot more) are going under a cut!
Misty — Because if Alan goes to Pewter Gym to battle Brock due to Mega Evolution, then of course when Brock tells Alan that the Cerulean City Gym Leader has also mastered Mega Evolution, he’s going to go there as well. Given that they both get pretty fired up for battles, Alan and Misty would get along pretty well right off the bat. Misty would be particularly interested in battling (and beating) him since she knows that he beat Ash at the Kalos League, and as much as she loves Ash, she wants to be able to have that one over on him because they’re rivals just as much as they’re best friends. Unfortunately, this battle doesn’t go so well, because when Alan learns that Misty’s Mega Evolution partner is a Gyarados, that gives both him and Lizardon trauma flashbacks pretty much right away. They both try to shake it off, but Brock can tell something’s off and all but insists they stop the match . . . which neither Alan or Misty are really happy with, but, well. Alan can’t say he’s exactly upset to see Mega Gyarados go back in its ‘ball.
Casey — She ends up being the Johto Champion, so of course he meets her (and in specific they meet as Champions). Alan and Casey don’t really talk very much because they don’t really have anything in common. She’s not interested in “nerd stuff” like his research and he has 0% interest in baseball (when she mentions The Electabuzz he legitimately thinks she’s talking about the species of pokémon and has no idea why she’s so offended when he says he’s never heard of the sports team). Casey does get on really well with Manon, though, since the two have very similar energy, even though Manon also knows nothing about baseball. (She does know how to join Casey in making fun of Alan’s “nerd stuff” while he rolls his eyes, though, so there is that.)
Morty & Eusine — Counting these two together as they should be. I don’t think this would be a long-lasting relationship by any means, but I could imagine a scenario where Alan travels to Ecruteak City to learn more about the legends there since he’s interested, and he goes to Morty to learn about them, and Eusine either happens to already be there or barges in while the two are talking, and the second he hears that Alan has some interest in Suicune (and that Alan has interest in hearing about Eusine’s findings once he learns that Eusine is the Ultimate Expert On Suicune™ (according to Eusine himself), well. Alan regrets asking only 30 minutes into that 4 hour lecture. Morty leaves partway through and brings back some tea for them to share because, well. Alan really did it now, didn’t he.
Lance & Clair — In a timeline where Alan studies his heritage (and learns that his heritage links back to the Blackthorn dragon clan), he meets both of them. He might meet Lance in a standard timeline anyway since Lance is always vying for Kanto’s Champion seat and held it before Ash did, but nonetheless he wouldn’t get on with either of them, honestly. Clair has an imperious attitude and is prone to fits of temper when she doesn’t get her way, which would annoy Alan, and Lance can be pretty arrogant and his sense of morality often clashes with Alan’s own. On the flipside, Clair would think Alan an upstart brat who has no right to think he could be on her level, while Lance would find Alan naive and foolhardy. So while they hail from the same clan (albeit distantly, in Alan’s case), they would not consider each other friends, let alone any kind of family.
Wallace — Alan is friends with Steven, and Steven is dating / engaged / married to Wallace, so it’s pretty inevitable the two would meet. I think they’d get along well enough in the few times they were around each other, but honestly they wouldn’t see / talk to each other enough to have any kind of real relationship.
Zinnia — In my head my Delta Episode AU 100% happens and they meet and bond through that when Zinnia tries to mug him for his Key Stone, fails, but then actually succeeds in stealing Sycamore’s Key Stone and so Alan goes tearing after her to get it back. This whole thing culminates in Zinnia revealing to Alan what Devon Corp has been doing with Infinity Energy (which puts a severe strain on his friendship with Steven, very nearly shattering the trust between them, and it takes a long time to heal), and Alan helping Zinnia summon Rayquaza despite his own trauma associated with it and also riding with her into space to help Rayquaza + pulling her off the great sky dragon at the last second so they can be caught by their dragons and both survive. (In other words: Unlike how the actual Delta Episode played out, Zinnia does not have her thunder stolen here. She is the one who summons Rayquaza, teaches it Dragon Ascent, and carries out her destiny as Lorekeeper. Alan just helps her survive the experience, even though they both still almost die, and end up laughing hysterically about it on the roof of the Sky Pillar because, after falling from space and almost dying, what else is there to do?) Their relationship definitely gets off on a rocky start due to the mugging and theft and Zinnia’s habit of being deliberately vague about important things and also talking in circles to avoid answering questions directly (not to mention that Zinnia knows that Alan is friends with Steven and figures, at first, that he must therefore be like Steven in all the ways Zinnia dislikes, such as using pokémon as a means to an end and not caring about lives that he can’t see), but after getting to know each other through the journey to save two universes from a giant Deoxys-infested meteor, they come to a mutual understanding and end up realizing they’re something of kindred spirits. Even though they can still be prone to teasing and bickering whenever their paths cross again after that, there’s also a very deep foundation of trust that can only be gained when you realize you have met your match in attempts to sacrifice yourself for the sake of the world in death-defying stunts that you will never, ever learn your lesson from no matter how many times you tell the people who care about you that you have most definitely learned it this time, you promise. (Not that Zinnia has many of those people left, but she does have her grandmother and others from the Draconid clan, plus she now also has Alan, so. There’s that. Also, no, she and Steven never, ever come to like each other, and Alan does his best to hang out / talk with each of them separately to save himself the headache of trying to mediate.)
Cynthia — She’s the Champion of Sinnoh, so obviously he meets her once he becomes Champion himself, and given that they’re both nerds they get along pretty well as a result. I think I’ve talked about this before, that she kind of becomes like a Cool Aunt for him, in that they can talk about legends and mythos and go on ancient ruins explorations together. Like if one of them discovers some ancient ruins, they’ll send the other a message to see if they want to go spelunking together and the answer is almost always yes. The only times Alan doesn’t appreciate spending time with Cynthia are the times when she teams up with Steven to try to “improve his wardrobe” because Steven and Cynthia are the designated Fashion Icons of the Champion Squad and both think it’s “such a shame” that Alan doesn’t care much about clothes. Otherwise, though, he gets along great with Cynthia and is always happy to have a new message from her.
Tobias — Alan doesn’t actually know Tobias, in that he never got Tobias’ name and probably wouldn’t recognize him again if he saw him on the street (and vice versa), but it’s my headcanon that the first time Alan and Lizardon ever successfully used Mega Evolution, it was in a battle against Tobias. They still ended up losing the match (I mean, the man has a team of legendaries, there’s only so much anyone can do), but given that they successfully used Mega Evolution for the first time, Alan and Lizardon still considered it a victory overall.
Iris — Iris becomes Unova’s Champion, obviously, but I’d like to think that they actually met before that, when Iris traveled to Kalos as part of her training (and the cameo episodes that she DESERVED but NEVER ACTUALLY GOT), and Iris saw Lizardon and got so excited because cute dragon!!! and as a result introduced herself. She makes a remark about how she knows that Charizard isn’t actually a dragon-type, and then Alan tells her about the X form of Mega Evolution and she decides to write Ash a letter right then and there telling him that he was WRONG and she was RIGHT and he should STUDY MORE, MAYBE, or something along those lines. Anyway, I like to think that they battle (with Iris using her Dragonite, or perhaps Haxorus if Axew has evolved by that point), and perhaps even run off some criminals / protect the lab together, or some such. You know, bonding time. Iris and Alan get along pretty well given that they both love dragons and enjoy battling and adventure. She’s the one who always most appreciates when Alan posts pictures of Lizardon into the Champion messenger.
Emma — So this one is sort of an AU idea, considering that much of Alan’s story was clearly based on Emma’s story from the XY postgame, and as such it makes sense to think that they might not exist in the same world. But I love the idea that they were, perhaps, childhood friends; they both would have grown up in Lumiose City, after all, and I could imagine them having a sort of odd friendship over the years, wherein Emma teases Alan for always having his nose in a book or wanting to study and do homework, while Alan just wants to research in peace, and all the while Sycamore is trying to encourage Alan to make friends. Emma, I like to imagine, would have been adopted by Looker around age 7, so they didn’t get to know each other for too long before she was whisked away with her own adoptive parent. But perhaps they met again at the Summer Camp, and perhaps years later Emma — now running the Lumiose branch of the Looker Bureau — helps uncover evidence that gets the police off Alan’s back for the Flare incident somehow. I think it could be a sweet relationship for them. (Alternatively, I’ve also imagined an AU where perhaps she’s his younger biological sister, despite them being roughly the same age canonically, in that his biological parents had another child a little while after abandoning him and decided to keep this one. This AU is more sad because Alan wants nothing to do with his biological parents, and he wouldn’t consider Emma his sister even if they were related by DNA, so I don’t like it as much. It’s still one I’ve considered, though, since design-wise they still look pretty similar and, as I said, they’ve got quite a bit in common even if there are notable differences.)
Louie — We actually do see these two interact in TSME 1, as well as the Kalos League, so this isn’t a headcanon per se. What is headcanon is that Louie considers Alan to be His Rival, while Alan — despite his eidetic memory — always forgets Louie exists the moment they’re done battling. I actually like to think that perhaps they met at the Summer Camp, too, and that they got off on the wrong foot perhaps because Louie was envious that Alan, a kid like him, was Sycamore’s assistant, and Alan got irrationally upset when Louie said that he’d be a much more deserving assistant and would prove it (irrationally because Sycamore would never kick Alan out for another kid, and Alan should theoretically know better at age 10, but also Alan was a child who was already abandoned once and also abused before Sycamore found him so maybe we can give him a pass on this one), and so they spent the whole three day camp hating each other. But then after the camp, Alan forgot about him. And when they met years later and battled, Alan didn’t recognize him (even though Louie DID recognize Alan), and then Alan forgot him again. And Louie felt he’d have his revenge at the League . . . but of course, he didn’t win, and also Alan didn’t know who he was. All in all, this video is a perfect summary of how Louie feels about Alan vs. how Alan feels about Louie.
Hau: Alola’s Champion in the future, and that’s how the two meet. Hau and Alan are pretty neutral toward each other. They have very different energies (Alan is quiet but not laidback, while Hau can be loud but is very laidback), and while this doesn’t make them dislike each other, it also means that they generally don’t talk very much outside of necessary business / the occasional exchange in the Champion messenger. It’s like a very coworker relationship between the two of them, even though they aren’t exactly coworkers. (And before anyone gets in a tizzy, in my headcanon Ash becomes Kanto’s Champion, so no, I’m not “demoting” Ash, please relax.)
The rest of the Alola people he would know I’m leaving out because I wrote those relationships before the games were even released, much less the anime, and so they ended up VERY different from canon. And while I could write in canon-accurate relationships, it’s honestly hard for me to shake what I’d already created out of my head, so it’s just . . . not something that I’d really want to fight with. So if you’re curious about Alan’s relationship with the Aether family, Aether employees, etc, that can go in a separate ask, and will be specific to my Alola AU (which, again, has characterizations from before the games were released even, so the Aether family isn’t IC in it, among other things that I just plain got wrong from the trailers, but whatever, it is what it is). That said, I will say that the comment about “poaching assistants” that I made in Oak’s section was actually kind of a reference to my Alola AU, in which the idea is that after the big climax, Kukui tries to “poach” Alan by inviting him to come be his assistant, because hey, he’s got a pretty impressive resume (and also Ash told Kukui about Alan and especially about all the newfound trauma he has as a result of the Aether AU and asked Kukui if Alan could come stay with them for a while). Alan can be Kukui’s research assistant and also a student teacher at the school and roomies with Ash, it’ll be great. He actually does this right in front of Sycamore, which Sycamore thinks is pretty rude, but when Sycamore asks him about it later Kukui’s like “it was Ash’s idea” and shrugs because he’s got no stakes in this tbqh. (Yeah, I didn’t characterize Kukui completely accurately either because I was working with pre-release info, let me live.) As for whether Alan would say “yes” or not . . . well, we’ll just have to see (I say as if I’ll ever finish that fic this century).
Leon — Galar’s Champion, and as I’ve talked about before I think they’d definitely be friends, plus a little extra, (also they love each other). They’re both Charizard specialists, they both love battling with all their hearts, they love traveling and exploring, they know what it is to have a lot of responsibility foisted upon them at young ages, they’re both very protective of others, valiant and brave, so on and so forth, I’ve already talked about this in another post, haha. They meet as Champions, hit it off immediately, and the relationship forms from there.
Hop — Hop has a tendency to hang around Leon, so I imagine that Alan would meet Hop when he meets Leon. He and Hop don’t talk / interact much after that, really, but Hop and Manon do become rivals, both in whose big brother think they is the best, as well as in battling and the like as well. Just like Alan and Leon are very similar, so are Hop and Manon. I definitely enjoyed the similarities in the Galar games, I won’t lie.
Sonia — I do imagine that Leon would introduce Alan to his friends, which would include Sonia, but at the same time I could also see Alan and Sonia meeting because, like the situation with Gary, they have some commonalities in their backstory. Sonia wasn’t raised by Professor Magnolia, exactly, but clearly her grandmother was a steady presence in her life and she decided to be her assistant. Of course, she ends up taking over the practice by the time she and Alan meet in their 20s, but nonetheless, all that means is that they’re both nerds who would enjoy talking about their research together, and even though Sonia isn’t as big on battling, that wouldn’t stop she and Alan from having a nice friendship and comparing research notes on the differences between Dynamax particles and Mega Evolution energy.
Raihan — As I said, Leon introduces Alan to his friends, and Raihan is still his best friend and rival even though they are also ex-boyfriends. I think that Alan and Raihan would really enjoy battling against one another, would definitely respect each other as trainers, and hey, they both love dragons, so that’s another thing in common. But Raihan is also a social media influencer whose Rotomphone is always snapping pictures, while Alan highly values his privacy and basically isn’t even on social media outside of a rarely updated Instagram that’s purely pictures of scenery and also occasionally Lizardon, never himself. So how they each tend to exist in public spaces is something that puts them at fundamental odds (Alan doesn’t want to be in the pictures and is kind of annoyed, honestly, by the constant snapping of the camera; Raihan thinks Alan is comparable to a caveman for not being on social media and not liking it). They don’t dislike each other, per se, but they also don’t tend to hang out much at all, and when they do it tends to be in small doses (particularly on Alan’s end, given how introverted he is compared to Raihan’s extroversion; Raihan wears him out).
Bede — I’m actually not sure how these two would meet, but while I played through the SwSh games, Bede’s devotion to doing whatever he had to in orde to help Rose achieve his goal (all the while being manipulated into doing so, albeit by Oleana rather than Rose) felt uncomfortably familiar, and I think if Alan was made aware of that he’d try to steer Bede away from that and would definitely not be friendly at all to Oleana. Of course, the primary difference between them is that Bede is a snotty brat while Alan is not and never was, so Bede would not want to listen to Alan at all, and Alan’s help would thus fall on deaf ears. But he’d still try, even as Manon would personally be of the opinion that, hey, maybe Bede is just an annoying jerk and you should just ignore him. (Bede would pick on her just as much as he picks on Hop and so she would not like him one bit. And honestly, Alan’s not too fond of him either, but that doesn’t mean he wants to see another kid manipulated and used like he once was. You don’t get a pass out of doing the right thing just because you don’t like someone, in Alan’s eyes. And that sense of justice and want to do good is really annoying in Manon’s (particularly as she gets older), but is also one of the key things that made her like him so much to begin with, so it’s like. She doesn’t want him to change, but also, Bede is really annoying and mean, though.)
Chairman Rose — Since Alan would participate in tournaments in Galar, and also since he’s Leon’s Special Someone, of course he’d end up meeting Rose at some point. To be honest, Alan wouldn’t trust Rose right off the bat. The fact that a megacorporation owns and runs everything in Galar, including the League, wouldn’t sit right with Alan and he’d be suspicious of it. This is especially true considering that Fleur-De-Lis Labs held considerable influence in Kalos (and look what happened), and Devon Corporation still holds considerable influence in Hoenn (and look what they do re: Infinity Energy). But the thing about Rose is that he’s a natural fit for the public eye and is legitimately a philanthropist / humanitarian, and he’d brush off any distrust that Alan has and always be cordial with him, and over time with him not doing anything wrong to anyone and Leon’s assurances that Rose is all right, Alan would relax around him. A little. Bit by bit. Look, he has a lot of trust issues, okay? He’s hypervigilant. And it doesn’t help that Rose’s second-in-command is, well . . .
Oleana — Oh ho ho these two would not get along at all. While Rose is genuinely friendly and likes talking to people and enjoys battling etc, Oleana is all business and, on top of that, she decides to make some of her business manipulating and using a literal child to do her bidding and then throws him away like used garbage when he goes too far on her orders. To most people she’s cold, calculating, and ruthless (and I say “most people” because she shows the most warmth toward Rose and even that’s not too much). And like, that bit’s fine, she can be how she wants to be, but when she uses and manipulates a child and then discards him like trash, that gets under Alan’s skin. And the thing is, Oleana doesn’t care about that. What she does care about is that she has, of course, done her research on Alan, and she knows that he is Very Likely to interfere with Rose’s plans if he finds out about them, given his past actions (and I believe she’d be of the opinion that he bit the hand that fed when it came to turning against Lysandre, and she’s the type who might bring that up in an argument against him so oh boy), and she’s not about to have that. (To that end, him being around Leon so much, when Rose needs Leon for Eternatus? Hmm. She doesn’t like that.) So there would definitely be a strong and mutual dislike between them, even if they Keep It Together during public events, and Rose and Leon either don’t notice or pretend not to because, well, they’re keeping it civil and don’t have to be around each other for long, so it’s fine, right? Right??
. . . oh boy.
