had no problem falling asleep 2 days in a row!! ...but both times I woke up before my alarm
#still a win tho since i struggled with sleep since the end of 2024#now get ready for an unnecessary life update in the tags#im doing 30days of yoga and thats good i think at keeping me calm bc life is kinda overwhelming#now that i know what to do for my 1st phd paper i start to realise all the potential problems#thats stressing me less than the holidays and new year did#i often dont feel like i can be fully myself with my parents as a leftist queer#especially around my tory dad#and this time his tory brother was there and i just was so tense all the time#and annoyed like could you stop with the eu bashing you got ur brexit shut up#but im so scared of conflict that i never say anything#and then i visted a friend for new year and afterwards realised that that was actually too much#and im feeling like im falling out of this friendship from my side at least#like we dont actually have so much in common#and i realised how much i hide myself around this friend#so that was a lot to think about starting a new year#i got a date for a first meering about a autism diagnosis tho so thats a thing#i hope the psychotherapist is queerfriendly#what else is new#ah yes my foot hurts again i think the lunges with dumbells and the running and muay thai the following days were too much#so i probably have to make a doctors appointment to get that checked out#writing this down feels weird but also good bc i talked with no one about the entirety of all of it yet#it also felt like i had to get this off my chest before i could post normally again on here

not medically cleared for a triumphant return to my favorite mildly scandalous sport of choice yet, but easing back into some conditioning in preparation for said eventual triumphant return, and god. I'd forgotten how much normal fitness--including heavy weight lifting!--and daily activities do for your abs. which is to say: fuckin nothing. these things do fuckin nothing compared to what an aerial art and/or pole dance will do. fucking hell. the weight lifting program I've been on specifically says "this program does not have a dedicated ab day because the abs are constantly indirectly targeted," and I can't believe dr. glute lab guy is lying to me like this. egregious. could I even do an invert right now? i mean yeah. I could. I'm confident I could, actually, but it would be wobbly and singular. I probably can't even take a decent punch to the gut right now. lord. am i gonna have to, like, work at this? god. i'm gonna go take a nap.

Đứng thẳng lưng dựa vào tường, chân dang rộng bằng vai. Đẩy nhẹ lưng vào tường, khuỵu đầu gối giữ trong vài giây và trở về vị trí ban đầu. Lặp lại động tác yoga này khoảng 10 lần.
Bài tập xoay lưng
Thực hiện:
Ngồi thẳng lưng, hai chân xếp bằng, giữ đầu gối phải bằng tay trái. Từ từ xoay thân trên qua bên phải, giữ tư thế trong 5 giây và trở lại vị trí cũ. Lặp lại động tác khoảng 10 lần và chia đều cho 2 bên.

Time to Celebrate
I'm not sure why but I feel like celebrating. I'll put it down to starting and finishing a home improvement project yesterday. I had to deal with plumbing and a very tight corner that made it hard to get to the connection and fixing leaks from the new addition.
It's done and not leaking so I figure it was a few hours well spent. I found out I'm still pretty flexible and can contort to squeeze into positions I thought I'd left behind in my youth.
With my flexibility established I think I may trade yoga, which I find hard to do with two very curious dogs, for Thai Chi. Same breathing but standing movement vs. a lot of floor positions where my dogs can pounce and try to lick me into submission and handing out treats.
I can't wait to see how they react to the invisible ball I'm moving around while destressing. Yasha will demand to sniff it and the other will probably jump on me trying to see if it's edible. Yes, these two are my main source of joy and entertainment.
So, it's a celebration to flexibility, invisible balls being moving through the air, and accomplishing a small feat in plumbing and home DIY. So grab your beverage of choice, it's morning here so I've brewed tea and am looking at my headphones and tarot/oracle decks, and join me. Just do something you enjoy. Even if it's only for 5 minutes. Enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, other beverage, snack, music, etc.
Take time to think of all the small things you've accomplished. Made your bed? Did your school assignment? Wrote in a journal? Nothing is to small...it's a celebration day!
