i consider traditional art to be much harder than digital (not to mention more expensive) but onw thing im jealous of is the possibility of effortlessly creating texture
#and yes obviously to create unique textures you also need skill etc etc#what i mean is that you get the texture of paint or markers or crayon or pencils by simply using the medium#in fact you need to put more effort into NOT having these textures#plus the texture of paper or canvas or whatever other surface you have#and generally traidional just gives you more freedom#put glitter or stickers on your shit#draw on a stone near a beautiful lake#etc

theyre doing a sick cover of the winner takes it all
#art#digital art#my art 🦷#digital painting#i spent 4 days on this but it was fun :)#i tried to force myself to take my time with this to get all the deatils done to my best ability#once i got to the refining stage i got scared and almost abandoned the piece cause it was looking a lil flat#but i just reminded myself that ill go back in to add texture and more detail at the end once i have a clean surface#overall im reaaally happy with how rayna came out#i think this is the most detailed piece of her ive made so far and i plan on making more soon#im mainly just sad about the background cause it just didnt turn out how i wanted it to but its eh#oh well :/#ill keep working on that eventaully#oh yeah and I made this in krita btw#enjoying that program a lot :)#rayna 👁

Did you know that fish DON'T shed and replace their scales? They have the same ones their entire lives, the scales grow with them. They will regrow new scales if the original ones are torn out, but these new ones look completely different under magnification.
#This really surprised me back in college when doing fish ageing stuff#Same shape and colour etc. but the surface texture is completely different.
