My new doll is here! He's a Telesthesia and Dragon Xiao Bei on 62 cm body in pink colour. Photos below:

He came with 3 peepees 😳 I didn't want to add a photo of those. Two of them are normal but one is huge lol.

He looks amazing in person, I can't wait to work on him. It's rainy now for a couple of days, I'll wait with the faceup until it's sunny again. He has a set of clothes which I got from taobao but no shoes. I wasn't sure of the size of his feet so wanted to wait until he's here. I'll need a stand for photos, don't think I'll trust him with standing safely.

I really like this body, I was so worried as there aren't many good pictures of it but it's great.

After Cari, my dark tan TD Doll XunYiChao, arrived, I decided to do a small resin comparison of currently available colors for tans and 1 normal pink skin.

Light tan from TD Doll is very very pale, it doesn't show much darker than an slight olive toned normal skin. In comparison, dark tan is really a rich dark color, definitely worth the $60 extra for it (light tan also comes with a $60 up charge for a 1/3+ sized doll).

I also compared the light tan to some other light tan resins that I have at home which are currently available from their respective companies with and without flash:

Jointed Hand: TD Doll normal pink 2019 (yellowed)

Spare male hand: DFA light tan 2021

Full arm and hand: TD Doll light tan 2020 (I labeled it wrong)

Foot: Iplehouse peach gold skin 2021

I have a couple of other tans at home, which are discontinued or have been updated as color options, such as:

LoongSoul french brown 2021 (Black Dragon release)

TD Doll tan 2019 (was replaced in 2020 with light and dark tan options)

Dollzone tan 2013

Dream Valley original tan from 2020

Soom bronze from 2012

Fairyland tan 2013

Meet Ambrose!

Ambrose is a Telesthesia & Dragon Wei Yue Jin limited. He’s a clumsy warlock who’s always working hard to improve himself. His story takes place when he’s trying to summon a familiar, but in usual Ambrose fashion, the spell backfires and he finds himself in quite the situation! 

I originally imagined him in black, but once seeing the white on him, I fell in love. He’s also the icon for this blog! (Can you tell I have a favorite? Shh.)

Some gonna be repeats, but I like comparing/contrasting companies, so it's easier to put them all together in one post.

First company: Telesthesia and Dragon. Model: 85 cm T&D Super Rider Lacy, normal resin. Also, my favorite for both posing and aesthetics:

Second company, second favorite, HELLA pricey: Dollmore Trinity jointed hands, normal resin, blushed by Dollmore. A little loosey-goosey for the size, and they tend to swivel a LOT.

Last company that I own: Resinsoul jointed hands in MSD and SD. Comparison with four models from left to right: Withdoll JWD Olivia (normal), Yummysweetsdoll Lotus in (???) on Doll Leaves MSD female body (normal), Xagadoll Mizzle (normal? yellow. She yellow) on Little Monica Little Harmony female body (normal), and Iplehouse CREAA-J Fantasy Elysia head (white) on Huajing 1/4 Special female body (normal).

Thoughts: the only body I liked the MSD hands on was the Little Monica body - the wrist ball joint was too big for all other bodies, even if I liked the proportions. However, there's a nice, sizeable chunk of resin on each side of Resinsoul's ball joints, so I could conceivably sand down the sides to make them fit, and I might?

Resinsoul jointed hands are still not cheap (like $40 for MSD IIRC), but they are the cheapest of this bunch. And sure, they look a little spidery, but all in all, not too bad. I really like them on the LM body, actually. The person who painted them black did a phenomenal job.

Dog help me when I have to restring them, tho...

doll collection rambling don't mind me

i'm selling my volks mika and ryo, i don't do anything with them tbh.

camael needs a new body cos i hate three part torsos and i'm wanting him to be shorter. i have him on a 68cm body cos originally his character was over six feet tall. with all my revisions, he's now like ~5'9" or like 175-6cm give or take. a 62-65cm body would work best, then i can have taehyun on a 68cm body. knowing me, this will change cos i adore the telesthesia & dragon 72cm body...

acchan needs silly little outfits once i pick an era. i like him blonde a lot, but i also love his short black hair. if i stick with the more current era i could have him in the fluffy coat from the kemonotachi no yoru pv, and get another pair of yosd hands to give him the claws. and there's all those black lace tops. but my big issue is shoes. i can't find shoes that will work cos like 99% of yosd shoes are too kiddie looking. i want him to be perfect.

the next doll i'm getting is uriel's new shell, an impldoll eudora. haven't decided on a body yet, i like both of the new impl bodies a lot. taehyun will probably be after uriel.

I'm new to the hobby and I've been contemplating buying one of those 75 cm absolute chads, telesthesia & dragon have some boys I'm interested in but I've seen the company faceups tend to be catfish in its purest form, also I don't know if they fit normal ID 75 clothes since those are the standards for big clothes I've seen around.

Doll number 50 made it a few weeks ago! I've named her Carina, Cari for short, and she's a blacksmith. She's a really fun character as she's an ex-paladin, and she can turn into a giant polar bear.

I need to get some new full body pictures of her painted, as I have some from her box opening.

I also compared her dark tan to to the light tan from the same company. I am thrilled with her color and look, I've been wanting a dark tan from TD Doll for a while, and she works perfectly in it!

My oldest doll, Dragondoll Cheng from 2009, got a body upgrade from his default 72cm V1 Uncle body to an IoS Class80 body. This head predates the merger of Telesthesia and Dragon Doll.

Even though both are white skin, Mort has turned the shade of butter over the last 12 years, so I had to color match him.

I'm glad I decided to give him scales along the sides of his face. And for the first time since I wiped his default faceup in 2012 he has eyelashes again. He also needed stronger eyebrows.

I did finally order him some pants off Etsy, in ID75 size, as the measurements look pretty close. Poor Mort is still wearing a shawl as a skirt. At least he's rocking it!
