The Bridgerton boys really are all hoes.
Anthony - the ‘so intense it makes him stupid’ hoe
Benedict - the ‘hoe for a good cause’
Colin - the ‘self-absorbed, dumb of ass’ hoe

so i got a very long and interesting anon and i want to say. i prommy ill respond to it but i just smoked weed and i want to give it the actual like. thought it deserves for a full response.
i will say tho with the patience thing, i work with kids and most of my previous jobs are customer service or handling crowds. so its not necessarily all patience, though im learning that young children and tumblr users have a lot in common in terms of reasoning skills, reading comprehension, and conflict resolution ability (honestly, i think my older kids might have some of y'all beat in that regard). its also the self-control one necessarily develops through years of working with some of the absolute stupidest fucking people on the planet (the USAmerican public).

🌹💐🌺🌸🌸🌹🌻🌸🌸🌸🌹🌹🌹🌻🌻🌹 a bouquet for something Roy and Jamie from wiggle up on dry land? 🙏
OKAY SO. THIS IS. LONG. BUT SOMETHING TELLS ME YOU PROBABLY WON'T MIND. so here, take this, from a LONG ways ahead, in the like, mid-season 2 area of the timeline in wriggle up on dry land-
It’s one of the stranger moments of Roy’s life, this one. He’d acted without thinking, following an instinct he didn’t know he had and wasn’t prepared to reckon with being in him in the first place and doing something he suddenly knew he needed to do without considering the implications or consequences. It’s something that he’s done time and again when it came to Jamie specifically, and it’s only gotten more unsettling the more it happens. And now here Roy is, standing in Rebecca’s office, the unwieldy burden of a deeply asleep sixteen year old in his arms and absolutely no idea how he’s going to get down to his car.
There are stairs between Rebecca’s office and the car park, for one. For another, Roy’s got a permanent injury to one of his legs and today has not been a particularly good day on that front. And, while Jamie’s lighter than Roy would honestly have hoped he would be, and he hadn’t had trouble picking him up off the couch, it’s going to be different as soon as he tries to walk farther than the distance across the office floor. It’s a dilemma. Roy is stuck in a situation with a sick boy he needs to get home so he can be properly looked after and the thought of waking him up to walk to the car is a prospect that makes Roy himself feel ill just contemplating it. The answer should be obvious. Jan Maas is right there in the doorway, having been sent after him by Ted for exactly this reason, and the thing about Jan Maas is that he is about eight feet tall and and built like he plays American fucking football. Jamie is willowy and short for his age. Stairs or no stairs, Jan would not have a problem carrying him down to Roy’s car - honestly, could probably carry him all the way to Roy’s house without breaking a sweat. Roy’s knee hurts and Jan is enormous and Jamie isn’t that heavy. It’s a no-brainer. A non-issue. Even so, Roy doesn’t move. He stands there in the middle of Rebecca’s office, frozen into complete stillness despite the increasing ache in his knee, the awareness that if he tries to take another step carrying an extra person with him it will not withstand the strain, and a complete unwillingness to pass his burden over. It’s a no-brainer, a non-issue, but Roy can feel Jamie’s forehead against his neck and it’s damp and hot. The boy has a fever and he’s sick, limp and asleep in Roy’s arms and there’s this panicky little corner of Roy’s brain that is convinced that the only place in the world that Jamie is safe, even close to safe, is while Roy is holding him. He’s aware this is stupid and ridiculous for all kinds of reasons, but knowing that doesn’t make that panicky little shriek any quieter or make his body any more willing to move. There’s something calculating in Jan’s eyes - they’re a cold and piercing grey-blue that never seem to miss much, even when Roy wishes they would. Roy shifts Jamie a bit, holding him a bit higher, a bit tighter, and waits for the inevitable. Jan knows Roy is reluctant to pass the boy over, and that he has no real reason to be so, and Jan is Jan, which means that any moment he’s going to start rattling off all the reasons why giving Jamie to him is the obvious solution and Roy is doing nothing but wasting everyone’s time. When Jan does speak, Roy blinks at him, uncomprehending. He can’t process what’s just been said, and he shakes his head a little like that will clear his ears or his head or something. The movement draws a faint whine from the still-unconscious kid and Roy hushes him with a duck of his cheek against the top of Jamie’s head. “I said, I will be careful,” Jan repeats, obviously aware that Roy hadn’t understood what he said. He sounds just as straightforward and frank as he always does, he doesn’t speak delicately or talk around the ridiculous problem he’s addressing, but he doesn’t mock either. He doesn’t make fun. All he says, looking right at Roy with a steady, clear calm, is, “I promise. I will be gentle and careful with him. You have my word.”

Favorite Artful Dodger scene so far:
Belle: "He's dying, isn't he? What can we do?"
Jack: "Hold his hand and see him into the next life."
Also, the parallels between this and Jack's earlier speech about how dangerous it is for a surgeon to play God. No matter how good a doctor you are, you still have to be a person - it is being a person that makes you good, and if you lose sight of that, you'll fail.
And when you've done all you can as a doctor, there's still something you can do as a fellow human being. Be there.

You're an environmental educator?? Can I ask in what kind of institutions you've worked before? Museum, zoo, education centre...?
yes! I started out volunteering at the zoo here in high school, and then I worked at a summer camp run by a science museum, I was an after school teacher for like a year which isn't rlly related to ee but is childcare themed, I worked at a outdoor focused summer camp where I was an instructor for the farm themed camp there, and right now I work at a nature center where we do like day camps and summer camps and field trip groups and then sometimes there are outreach events! we had a newt event recently lmao. the job I just got is at a national wildlife refuge working with a park ranger where I'll do similar work to what I'm doing now plus the opportunity for fieldwork and other stuff working with different scientists!

sorry for having the audacity to say that *check notes* you shouldn't steal someone's pets?
here's my cat to show you how awful of a human being I clearly am – last night she was at the top of the stairs, and when i went to walk down them she got scared and stumbled. she didnt fall or anything but she did look like a looney toon because we have wood floors and I haven't been able to cut her paw pads lately so there was a little skittering and that made me laugh at her.

Kiana Madeira, Brianna Hildebrand, and Quintessa Swindell in Trinkets (2019) P*ssy Palace
S1E3
Lakeshore High's volunteer day throws the girls into separate awkward social situations, leaving all three looking for an escape. A trip to a sex shop yields some surprising information.
*AJ asks Elodie if she's ever considered shaving her head, to which she replies "I don't think I have the head shape for that" in reality the actress Brianna Hildebrand did shave her head to play Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool

odesta week day three: free space
this is a new chapter of one of my fics posted on ao3! there’s some references to the other two chapters so if you want to read that first, you can do so here. but you’ll still be able to get the general idea if you choose not to. anyway, enjoy <3
He knows that he should be scared right now.
He just volunteered to be a tribute in the 65th Hunger Games, after all.
He knows that he should be scared because of the whispers he heard as he made his way to the stage— “The youngest Odair boy? Isn’t he only 13?” No, he’s 14, and 14 is a very fearless age to be. He knows that he should be scared because of the tears he saw form in Calder’s eyes— his big brother never cries. Except for the year that Finnick turned five. He knows that he should be scared because of the half-yelp, half-shout sound that came from his father’s mouth the moment Finnick raised his hand— doesn’t his father understand that he’s doing this for him and Calder? They’ve barely been able to afford acquiring this month’s supply of fishhooks. Victors are promised an endless supply of wealth for themselves and their families for the rest of their lives. He will remind his father of this once they join him in the Justice Building.
Finnick knows all of this, but he isn’t scared.
The Peacekeeper standing in the room with him might think so because of the way he can’t stop his leg from shaking, but that’s only because he thinks that his father and his brother are going to be scared and he hates worrying them.
He looks up as he hears their voices sound from outside the closed door.
Finnick isn’t scared when he notices the tears rolling down his father’s cheeks as he enters the room with Calder right behind him.
“Finn,” his dad says. He doesn’t say anything else until he marches up to him and pulls him into a tight embrace. “Why are you doing this?”
“I can win, Dad,” Finnick insists as he draws back. He puts his hands on his dad’s shoulders since he’s almost as tall as him now. “I’m at the top of my class at the Career Academy. I’ve passed every test with flying colors. I know I can win. And Victors are promised a lifetime of wealth. You won’t have to worry anymore.”
An expression passes over his dad’s face that Finnick’s never seen before. It’s somewhere between guilt, remorse, and a breaking heart.
“Oh, son,” he whispers. “You have to win. But not because of the money. Because I need my son to come back home to me.”
He doesn’t really know how to reply to this (because of course he’s coming back) so he settles for a nod.
Calder approaches him next and hugs him just as tightly as their dad did. “You’re such an idiot,” he says, but it’s not in his usual teasing manner. Instead, it sounds strained and sorrowful.
“An idiot who’s going to win these Games,” Finnick answers once he pulls away.
“I hope so,” Calder replies quietly. The way he won’t let go of Finnick’s arm makes him start to think that maybe this was all a bad idea because while he might be fearless, his dad and brother have never looked so petrified.
“I’ll be home sooner than you think,” Finnick says with a grin, attempting to uplift the mood. He hates, hates, hates how their eyes look like they’re trying to memorize every inch of his face.
His dad pulls him and Calder into another hug in response.
Finnick doesn’t draw back until he hears a familiar shout of his name coming from the hallway.
“Finnick!” Annie yells as she comes barreling into the room. Her eyes are wide and her hair is awry which causes an image of their first meeting from seven years ago to form in Finnick’s mind.
Except curiosity doesn’t heighten her expression. This time it’s terror.
She runs up to him and nearly knocks him over as her arms go around him with her face pressed against his chest. “You can’t go,” she says. “You can’t.”
“Don’t worry, I’m going to win, Annie,” he reassures. Why do the three people he cares most about in this world seem so fearful all of a sudden? Annie’s always shared his fearlessness. She’s never been scared, just like him. Except for those few months after his eleventh birthday that they don’t talk about. An immense wave of gratitude overtakes him that he was able to have his best friend back after Annie had convinced her mom to let them see each other again (he still doesn’t know how she managed to do that). He’s realizing now how hard it would’ve been to leave this room without feeling Annie’s arms around him. He doesn’t think he could’ve done it.
“I don’t want you to go,” she whispers and with the crack in her voice, Finnick knows she’s crying.
He slowly releases her grip on his shirt for her because he also knows that she won’t let go otherwise.
“Annie,” he murmurs while wiping her tears free from her skin. She closes her eyes and another escapes. “I’m going to come home. I promise.”
“You have to,” she replies. “Okay? You don’t have a choice.”
“I will,” he insists.
“I…” she sniffs and reaches into her pocket before pulling out a bracelet made out of rope that’s dyed green with a blue conch shell tied to its middle. “I made this for you. I was going to give it to you after the Reaping, but…”
Finnick gently takes it from her hands and slips it onto his wrist. “I’ll wear it as my token. Thank you, it’s beautiful,” he says quietly but sincerely.
Annie nods before embracing him again as her cries are muffled by the fabric of his shirt.
Then, all too quickly, the Peacekeepers are dragging his family and his best friend out of the room.
Annie’s shouts of protest are the last thing he hears before the door shuts behind them and he’s left with nothing but silence. He’s starting to think that maybe he should’ve been scared all along. Maybe it’s fear that drives tributes to win.
i’ve been super busy so far this week so i haven’t been able to read everyone’s else’s fics yet but i should have time tonight!!!

you call yourself an anarchist and preach cooperation but can you recognize when people have zero experience and change how you approach working with them without getting short or frustrated with them?
