Ugh bring back pinback buttons for all occasions. I am so tired of going to an event and NOT receiving a fun little commemoration badge. I hate tee shirts. They're stupid. Give Me a Button.

I donated platelets the other day (triple unit!) and walked away with two corny, ugly, long-sleeved tee shirts that I'll never wear. They were forced upon me, only because I can imagine that nobody wanted them.

I would have much rather gotten a little button! Something to say "I donated a ton of platelets in the month of December!" or something.

A Rainy Night in Soho

A modern AU set over a single night in a London pub. Izzy is forced back to London after the death of his mother, and due to a sudden storm, takes shelter in a SoHo pub he remembers from many years ago. While there, he runs into Ed, his old flame and the only man he’s ever loved, for the first time in 30 years after Ed suddenly left England and his friends with benefits situation with Izzy, to be with Stede in Aotearoa. This didn’t work out, and Ed came back. Unable to leave due to the rain, the two have difficult decisions surrounding hurt, missed opportunities, and second chances, with Ed wishing he’d agreed to be Izzy’s New Year’s kiss after all, decades ago. They accept that maybe they can still make this work, and Izzy starts to accept that maybe he’s worthy of Ed’s love after all.

One of my favorite customers came to the pharmacy yesterday wearing a trump hat. And I was like aww. You were my buddy Edgar, this is such a letdown. But then I realized the hat actually said "fuck trump". Real roller coaster of emotions, that was.

me: i just don't understand, how is it that i can look at myself in the mirror before i leave the house and think "yeah looks good" but then the second i'm out in the world and around other people i feel like the most offensively hideous pustule upon the surface of the earth that should just go into hiding forever instead of burdening others with my presence, and then when i get home and look in the mirror again i realize i literally looked normal or even kind of cute the entire time?? my mom: *comes into my room while i'm waking up to point out how disgusting and greasy my hair is, as if there is no possibility i am already aware of that and was planning to take a shower after getting out of bed* *comes into the bathroom while i'm trying to take a relaxing bath to scold me for not putting oils in my hair before washing it because now my scalp will be dry and sickly and my hair will start falling out* *comes into my room while i'm trying to take a nap just to aggressively poke my face and interrogate me about why i have "so much" acne (it was One pimple)* me: hm. what could possibly be the reason. i guess we'll never know.

Mordecai probably lives in an apartment or something, but my first thought when you brought up the Caves on that post was that he won’t tell us because he’s been living in the Caves the Whole Time. Even tho he’d hate the slime mold.

yeah a Whole Damn House would be a bit much, and probably not as useful for the nightly bootlegging related goings on: see, freckle needing to stand around waiting for a ride before he can go shoot people. whereas mordecai can show up to the maribel hotel on foot, or at least have started out somewhere he could get a cab or whatever....and this is probably the closest to any relevant Living Situation Glimpses

someplace with a bed, and one with an art deco headboard....a modern style, so it's neither Antique nor unfancy enough to have less identifiable stylings at all. like just by guessing surely he lives in some apartment that's unassuming enough to live unassumingly in, with whatever alias, so something large & fancy would be unhelpful....plus if he's gonna be fairly rigorous in his domestic upkeep, it wouldn't really help to have a huge place, even if for the same reasons it wouldn't be too small (or old or otherwise unpleasant; hard no to slime mold, slime, or mold....) and like re: the rotating aliases, maybe he moves places fairly regularly for good measure, been at this like, a decade....tl;dr probably has some apartment/s that's roomy but not huge, nice but not Fancy fancy, at the nexus of practicality, resources, and preferences

but it's important to think about "what if mordecai's been living in the caves the whole time" b/c that's funny lmao

me: hm I keep wanting to build outfits around tank tops and camis but I only have a few right now in just a couple colors and they're pretty worn out, luckily something like a solid-color base layer should be pretty easy to just get a bunch of online

amazon: cool yeah would you like a five pack of the camis you want that go up to what is listed as a 2XL but is still at least two sizes too small, or would you like one Just Perfect For My Special Body brand plus tank top with wide straps and a built in foam bra for the same price

me: actually you know what why don't I just set myself on fire instead
