#juney.txt #it's not a show i hate but wow the writing just isn't there #there's a whole lot of #shit just arbitrarily happens. we're doing this emotional scene where we SUBTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:tm: hint at lore or character development #uhhhhh just because the writer says so i guess. it doesn't really feel natural or properly built to it usually just kinda happens.#there are moments it *doesn't* feel like that. the kinger and pomni stuff comes to mind as a rare exception #but for the most part it feelsss. cobbled together. inelegant.#half of episode one is just characters going ''huh?? what??? what is happening i don't understand???''#and it's usually to things the audience has figured out the general gist of within two seconds of seeing it. it's very awkward #idk i'm too sleep deprived to put my criticisms more concretely and into words. hence putting all this in the tags #writing is hard. the team behind the show just kinda don't have a grasp on what to do with it.#everything else about the show is technically competent #editing. cinnamon topography. animation. sound design. lighting and colour.#acting is a little rough but to be fair. like i said they're not working with the best writing #and also find me literally any piece of media from the past ten years with good acting #it's a dying art i tells ya

look. look i'm not saying he'll do WELL. legitimately i have no idea how good he is at handling horror, and his skillset gained through hating idols is not going to be particularly useful, except in VERY specific circumstances.

but! he is also really good at/used to doing random miscellaneous tasks that have nothing to do with his actual job. i think he'd handle being thrown in a horror story with just the most resigned "fuck my baka life". i can imagine him trudging through one of these powered by pure resentment of his boss.

terrible au where kim iwol does manage to resign from his job only to end up at daydream fucking inc. terrible things happen to him and the running joke is just "well this is still better than working with manager nam".

#assistant manager kim hates idols #gsgw #probably might be good as a oneshot?#i don't think it's got good appeal as a long-running story because i think the main appeal of his original novel is the group interactions #but the exhausted salaryman aura applied to gsgw just seems so funny #and if it's a ghost story where he has to rely on his stamina he'll do great!!#and look. he even has a built-in reason for a wish ticket #hmm. maybe a oneshot where he is some guy from marketing who accidentally gets thrown in with the field exploration team?#and everyone's just like. ah. shit. that guy is NOT built for this #but then he just powers on through. resigned.#especially once he encounters a civilian who has accidentally fallen into this darkness #aka choi jeho #and then suddenly this marketing lackey is just. stone cold #why would kim iwol be scared when THAT GUY is right there #his internal narration stops being concerned with the horror and instead gets focused on cussing choi jeho out #when he thinks he's actually going to die he's like fuck it and starts an argument with choi jeho #for everyone else in this story the genre is still horror #for kim iwol we're talking about mass cartharsis #the ending of the story is him actually having a constructive conversation with choi jeho #like they iron out some issues and kim iwol's like. well he's not horrible. his face brings me trauma but it's not his fault #and everyone on the field exploration team is like. ???#hey marketing team guy are you okay #kim iwol barely remembers the horror story #kim iwol only really remembers choi jeho #so he's just like: well seeing that guy was annoying but everything else is within expectations

oh i'm always glad to. i think we all owe a lot of gratitude to the artists working on deadlines around these teams and capturing special moments, and i feel bad enough i'm borderline stealing their photos to share honestly 😭😭😭😭 but we owe them so much. in general, i think people should be crediting/referring both for the gratitude but ALSO bc it makes things easier to find later? idk, it kinda drives me nuts how people don't lol

i think more business owners should look inward when they complain about issues. is it annoying to have to hire multiple times a year? yes, absolutely. WHY do you think the turnover is so high if everyone says they enjoy the work?? surely. no. it couldn't be the person in charge.

#would like to finish my fucking fic but i need to just rant about how insane architecture school is #there are 50 people in my year and we're making this book thing together #have to present the book thing today #theres 8 groups and each person made a handful of pages #each group handles 1 topic #and then theres a formatting team which is a representative from each team #so that we can all coordinate on the formatting and hten go back to our groups to tell them like what fonts to use and give them layouts #shit like that #i am on that team #which means i have to nitpick my team and make sure their pages look the same as the other people's pages and compile them #we have ?? 30 something pages of diagrams and drawings? 8 teams so the book is probably 250ish pages long atm #thats due today and after were done presenting were getting a second study to do which is due on monday (same length)#we have to present that one too #and then we have an essay due tuesday (3 pages) a site analysis due thursday (that ones short #another due next tuesday (again 3 pages for theory (gag))#and were getting our studio assignment after mondays presentation #where we have to design a building and we have a few months to do it #and this weekend i have a networking event and a site visit so i have like 1 day to work and 1 day to do those things #oh and we have readings in the midst of all this #not sure the word count on that but we have usually 4 a week and theyre usually each 20 ish pages long which isnt that bad but you know #oh shit i also have to go to mr theory mans office hours on monday bcause i NEED that 4.0 man i need it #anyway if i am not writing i promise you i PROMISE you i am thinking about how much i want to and what i will do next #there is just ?????? so much shit to do #also my structures class is during the quali today so im just gonna. watch it in there. multitask. priorities #tldr dont study architecture #all these f1 drivers who wanted to be architects? would they have survived is my question. the answer may shock you #td

I get that the tariff threats might be small potatoes to americans, but they're an incredibly real threat to us here and have had a direct impact on the campaign of said crazy right winger. at least from the canadian perspective, political tensions with the US have not been this high for a very long time and that's scary for us!!

i mean. the tariff threats are not small to us, they're just one of a million things trump is actively doing to contribute to the downfall of THIS country too lmao. so i get that it's scary, but i think the patriotic position on this over the empathetic one about everyone being impacted by trump is dumb, just bc a portion of this country voted for him. i feel bad for the whole world in all honesty but acting like americans aren't victims of this and their own political system and lumping everyone together like i've seen is nuts.

the threats of annexation are ludicrous to me and not the realest thing going on, and while i get that is also scary (bc there is a lunatic in the white house yet again who threatens insane things against everyone every single day including against the marginalized HERE too), realistically right wing politics in canada don't exist just bc they do in america. the us might be the first domino in that kind of collapse but it's not like that evil is unique just to this country. which is why i find the nationalism crazy.
