okay does anyone else hold major grudges even with big corporations/brands?

hear me out.

ever since tarte’s massive thing in 2018 where they released their foundation in 15 shades, with exactly 3 maybe considering dark skin, i’ve literally bought nothing from them with my money and have zero desire to. even when i have a gift card, tarte is never on my list of brands that even cross my mind.

and i don’t care for any of the half asses apologies because it still boggles my mind how this was even approved. not to mention how in their “apology” they quite literally were just like “yeah we just figured dark skin wasn’t as important and they could wait their turn” like BITCH-

it’s the “we just got so caught up in #shapetapenation” that really does it for me

EDIT: i completely forgot this also launched AFTER fenty beauty already dropped their 40 shade range foundation. embarrassing

In 2017 I fell in love with Tarte cosmetics. I loved the tropical and ocean vibes that the makeup was decorated in. As well as their claim of being natural and having a free soul feel to it. These days I realize that the sea themed packaging is marketing. I still adore it, however my makeup taste has definitely become more luxurious.
