So i finally decided to start my little blog, or i’d rather say a diary.

i think i felt attracted to bigger people for the first time when i was a child. i didn’t understand that right but i feel so dizzy and fuzzy inside whenever i saw chubby characters or weight gains in tv shows and cartoons (btw have you ever noticed how fetishy were cartoons back in 2000s i’m still shocked tbh). my favorite thing to do in sims had always been a weight gain process to my characters i made.

when i became a teenage girl i discovered feederism content on youtube. i still remember the day when i found it, i was fourteen and i was anorexic. i watched videos with fat people to motivate myself not to eat. but suddenly i felt a huge wave of sexual arousal and honestly it scared me. i couldn’t believe that i was actually attracted to fat people.

i have been ashamed of my preferences for years, i always tried to avoid talking about fat people or obesity problems in our society. i tried to pretend that i have normal and socially acceptable preferences.

everything became worse when i started getting higher education. for some reason i’ve enrolled into med school. i’ve been listening how bad obesity is, but always thought how beautiful and sexy those fat people are. i find that absolutely odd how i know that morbid obesity is awful for health but still can’t stop admiring fat people.

so now i’m 22, i’m still a med student and work in a mental hospital. i still absolutely adore and admire fat people and i still find fat bellies, moobs and thick thighs absolutely hot. i’m absolutely in love with fat men all shapes and sizes.

Yeah, I had an idea of making OC x Canon featuring Jeffrey and Steve dating Maynard twins (Jeffrey x Sierra Maynard and Steve x Sadé Maynard) (AKA Mandom x Maynard twins) and making a story on how they met.

LORE (It's a Work in Progress): For Sadé, it all started back when she met Steve at the gym because her mother told her to go there. Her mother was worried not because she would turn obese if she didn't go there, but also because her mother had had enough of Sadé staying inside her room all day, reading X-Men and other superhero comics. Sadé was mad at her, but she obliged and went there.

At the gym, she didn't pay attention to where she was going because she was reading X-Men comics (She sneakily put the comic in the pocket of her pants), and she bumped into Steve, making the comic fall to the ground. Sadé apologized, but she became surprised when Steve noticed the comic that she was reading. That's where they began to talk to each other, and they got to know each other very well.

For Sierra, she has been a huge sci-fi nerd ever since her dad introduced her to the world of Sci-fi at a young age. Sierra is a crazy Trekkie and was very surprised when Jeffrey was a Trekkie as well, which made her joyous. They met back at the comic con (that was before Jeffrey found Steve's ad in the back of the comic buyer's guide) in the Star Trek section. They began to hang out and talk about their hobbies and interests until they eventually started dating. She was (and still is) Jeffrey's second, but his real love after Jeffrey broke up with his first love. The reason for Jeffrey's breakup with his first love is that she laughed at him when she saw the size of his Star Trek collection. Sierra felt pity for him and she promised herself that she would always love and cherish him for who he is.

୨୧ Smg3 was so relieved when everything ended well, everyone was okay, the chaos was over! The first thing that smg3 did when everything was over was run to you and hug you, relieved that you were okay.

୨୧ ...only to be met with a "who are you? what is happening?" from you, caughting him totally off guard and making him slowly more and more shocked and disturbed the second he realized what that could mean.

୨୧ He hates Puzzles with every ounce of his being,SMG4 didnt even need to smash the TV with Luigi meat mallet, Smg3 destroyed that TV himself, reducing it to shards in mere seconds, all out of pure hatred for what he done to you.

୨୧ He couldnt believe it, you were just playing around right? you didnt really mean that, it was just a stupid prank you were pulling on him... right?! he shaked you by the shoulders desperately, asking if you were joking and to stop playing around, but his fear were sadly confirmed when you said you didnt knew what he was talking about.

୨୧ This man would be in severe denial once he realizes what happened, thinking you were just being a silly goof ball, when in reality you didnt even remember who u were or where you were, everything in ur mind was just... static

୨୧ The crew would let him live in his fantasy for a while, in hopes for him to fall into reality himself, while trying to get you to have your memories back, but nothing would really seen to work.

୨୧ Smg3 could feel himself falling into depression by the second, he missed you profoundly, he missed how you would just stick by his side everytime you got the chance, now, it was gone, it was all gone.

୨୧ After some time he would fall into acceptance and try to rebuild some memories with you, try to get you guys happy life back, try to get your sparkle back, so that he could feel your warm and comforting hug, even if that meant he had to win you back again.

୨୧ He would often show you some pictures of you two on his phone, some of dates, others from stupid adventures, or just you two relaxing together and also, some drawings he made of you, so you could at least believe him when he said you two knew eachother.

୨୧ His "tough" facade would fall and he wouldnt catch it, and the crew didnt dare to tease him for it since it was a very delicate moment to him, so they would just let him be and comfort him when needed.

୨୧ He would become extra protective of you, sticking by your side always he gets the chance to, keeping an eye on you so he knows you are okay and safe.

୨୧ Considered trying using his guardian powers on you but turned his own idea down because he was afraid that it could hurt or even worsen the situation somehow, so he would just stick to hope and rebuild something with you route.

ok i swear this is like the 4838289292 time something on south park coincidentally changes the way i want after a critique i made lol. it’s either that or i’m just rlly good at predicting what’s gonna happen bc i know the characters so well. but ummm IT’S NOT A COINCIDENCE THAT RIGHT AFTER I MADE A RANT LIKE A MONTH AGO ABT HOW I WAS TIRED OF KYLE BEING A DICK TO CARTMAN FOR NO REASON WHEN WE LOVE CODEPENDENT MARTYR COMPLEX KYLE MORE, THAT THEY MADE A WHOLESS EPISODE ABOUT CODEPENDENT KYLE AFTER A STRING OF EPISODES WHERE KYLE WAS AN ASSHOLE. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. AND ALSO i did another rant not too long ago where i talked abt the only way they could make kyman canon that would work and get more people on board with the ship is if they escalate the hints and make them more obvious to casual viewers lol and i feel like that’s exactly what they did in this special. especially in that scene where they were all in each other’s faces looking like they were about to kiss like there’s no way anyone can’t see that that was gay LOL. this was like one of the most on the nose kyman episodes. so yeah i appreciate them taking my feedback on that bc if matt & trey are rlly serious about making kyman happen they’re gonna have to get more people on board and believing that the ship is a thing so people will stop hating lol. NOT A COINCIDENCE. and ofc right after i started making rants abt how kyle has a victim mentality then they made the episode “the worldwide privacy tour” which deadass called kyle a victim lol. i also loved that moment where kyle couldn’t figure out his brand bc he doesn’t know who he is….right after i pointed out how kyle has no personality outside of shitting on cartman lol. like even if it’s not matt & trey looking at my posts i’m sure someone else in the writers’ room or on the south park team is (bc yeah it takes A LOT of people to make a tv show) and telling them this shit LOL. i’m pretty much a south park writer at this point like where are my royalties??? and the way kyle acted in the obesity special has been pretty well received bc that’s the kind of kyle people like seeing so yeah this should go on my resume 😤

Got into an argument with someone in the Hazbin wiki discord server over the fact that I made Human! Pinkie Pie plus sized Basically this person argued that me making her plus sized is NOT body positivity and proceeded to call her "obese". And they also did this ('lose weight' they spelt in the reactions, alongside a nerd emoji)

And then they commented "Pinkie Pie or Lizzo", I didn't know who Lizzo was so I replied to them.

And I decided to reply back because I was really ticked off about what they said..

Unfortunately, I don't have anymore screenshots since I decided to use Vencord's plugin which removes 'blocked messages', but they did proceeded to share Inflation + Fat fetish images of Charlie Morningstar and Husk before asking me "Is this body positivity?" which I straight up told the guy that No, it isn't.. and then afterwards, that's when I use vencord bc I was getting sick and tired of this guy.

When I drew Pinkie Pie as a plus sized Black Woman, I did not drew her because I wanted to show that Obese is good or being overweight is good (which she isn't Obese or overweight, she's just plus sized), No, I wanted to show body positivity since there is rarely any good rep for people who are plus sized in media /gen. I had seen TV series, Books, Comics and Movies where the plus sized or fat character is portrayed as a person who eats a lot, only talks about food and is portrayed poorly and never positively.

Bad rep like Daddy Pig from Peppa Pig (Peppa use to (or still do, idk) make fun of his big tummy), the police officer Cheetah from Zootopia (the desc says and I quote "he loves to eat while he is working.") Most of Disney's old villains ect ect.

Which is why I drew her like that because we need more good rep for people who are plus sized and not unhealthily fat like obese or overweight.

Starting from the oneshot...

This was pretty fun and I gotta say I loved it. It was actually the first time I read the oneshot! So it was able to surprise me.

What a delightfull image to see haha!

So this one shot features only a few characters from the manga. Kaneki, Yoshimura, Touka, Shinohara and lastly the ghoul activist guy on tv. The early versions of them that is... but they are easily recognizable design wise while their personalities are quite different.

One shot Kaneki honestly reminds me more of manga Touka here. He is angsty from the start because he is a ghoul from the start. Not an artifical half ghoul.

Meanwhile o.s. Touka seems to be an innocent human girl, with her carefree life and simple fears contrasting Kaneki's ghoul struggles.

She talks of fearing being eaten by a ghoul, much to Kaneki's discomfort.

I was kinda annoyed she would just be simple a foil character but then...

Anyway, the philosophy the pacifist ghouls go by is different here. Less developed. Ooooor in other words, they arent pacifist at all. It seems that the way Kaneki decides to feed is by going after the bad ones.

Like I said, kinda under-developed. It's a very basic way of thinking, not all that just or fair as one may think at first. But I think it makes sense for Kaneki's character here. I will get back to this later.

Kaneki is being suspected by an early version Shinohara, his personality is very similiar to that of the manga Mado Kureo's. Shinohara is targeting Kaneki because he thinks the recent binge eater ghoul that targets young girls is a teenage male ghoul, on the logic that teenage boys like feminine bodies. He makes fun of the ghoul activist on TV that comments the binge eater must either be an obese or a brat ghoul. While Kaneki thinks the binge eater must simply target young girls because they taste good.

Either way, Shinohara pins that Kaneki is a ghoul because of the way he grimaces while eating and rushes to the bathroom afterward. So Kaneki dons his mask to go kill Shinohara before he himself is killed. It seems like Kaneki is losing until...

Man I love Touka...

So she was the binge eater. The TV commentor was correct that the ghoul responsible should be young (Kaneki later mentions that younger ghouls have a bigger appetite) and Kaneki was correct that the eater mustve simply liked the taste of young girls. Really emphasizes the arrogant ignorance of an investigator like Shinohara here.

Her being a ghoul is hinted at as well in the way she says she is on a diet and how she kept her friend away from those men who she knew could be ghouls. Obviously things like this are also explored in the manga but this one shot has a small page count to tell its story and I think it is remarkable that details like these that deepens the characters could still be hidden in. And there is more...

The last character revealed to be a ghoul is Yoshimura. It is hinted all throughout with the way he is clearly looking after the young ghouls without them realizing it. But it doesnt seem obvious at first because he always offers them sandwiches and eats them casually himself. But here's the thing:

Kaneki and Touka are inexperienced. Because of how young they are, and they dont seem to have any adult figures to teach them either. Touka is glad Kaneki is there to teach her, who is older than her, which means there must not be anyone else. (This also explains Kaneki's eating preferance. Eating bad people was just what he came up with on his own. He isnt aware of any alternatives. Wasnt taught any that are more discreet.)

Eating human food is perfected with practice. And Yoshimura mustve had a lot of it already. So he offers them human food often to practice. (But also offers Kaneki coffee after to make him feel better)

Yoshimura is later shown (not actually shown, but he recognizably says "Kaneki-kun and Touka-chan" as there arent any other characters who refer to the kids as such) eating the ghoul activist guy. He is saying that kaneki and touka should handle their meals more deliciously? kinda hard to decipher which I am guessing is because the translation has been off all throughout this scan. But I think he targeted the ghoul activist because his knowledge is too accurate and therefore dangerous to ghouls.

I think this was the part of this oneshot I enjoyed the most. The way they are really just dumb kids trying to figure out how to live as ghouls, relying on eachother and with the help of an older ghoul looking after them. It makes this one shot unexpectedly sweet and endearing. I wasnt expecting that at all but I am glad nonetheless. It put a smile on my face. I would read a tokyo ghoul alternative of the misadventures of young ghouls Touka and Kaneki and their caring grandpa.

I love it when skinny girls decide to blow up, but I have a bone to pick with a trend that irritates me.

I see this all the time, especially in Reddit feedism communities. Some skinny thing puts on ten or fifteen pounds and then makes some post talking about how obese they are now. There are two pictures, but one is taken from directly below their belly to “show the growth”.

Having a beginner belly is fine. But then these people disappear. They never gain. They garner attention while cosplaying as a fat person, then they melt back into the privilege of being skinny.

I’m not trying to be mean or exclusionary or gatekeepy. But I’m in this community because I like big bodies. Skinny people are already EVERYWHERE. On tv. In movies. On social media. On billboards. Can I at least get fat people in my fucking weight gain kink?

Fat girls get me wet. Lardy girls get me wet. I’m all for fantasy, but when you pull at skin and call it a “fat roll”, you’re kind of negating the adverse experiences of fat people who have to live as fatties all the time, while appropriating the benefits of getting to call yourself fat.

There is nothing wrong with being skinny. There’s nothing wrong with being a beginner gainer. And there’s nothing wrong with liking skinny people/beginner gainers. The thing that annoys me is the invasion of fat-centric spaces by skinny people with no real intention of gaining or participating in the community.

That’s it. That’s my rant. I just love fat people and it bothers me when any marginalized group loses ground in their own dedicated safe space.

Sci Fi Month Dune 1984

So @minimumheadroom requested I review David Lynchs Dune,a film which is being talked about now due to a new Dune being in theaters

For the record havent read the whole book, but have seen Denis Villenuves Dune part 1 ,and the first episode of the Dune 2000 miniseries (Which I also intend tio review ).ALso am reviewing theatrical cut

This 1984 film follows Paul Atredies(Kyle Maclachlan ) whose father Duke Leto Atredies (Jurgen Prochnow ) has been appointed as head of production of The Spice,the most valuble substance in the universe,on the Planet Arrakis ,as part of a ploy by the jealous Emperor Shaddam IV (Jose Ferrer) and the Baron Vladimir Harkonen (Kenneth Mcmillian ) to wipe out the threat of the popular Duke Leto ,but this attempt to erradicate House Atredies,pushes Paul to join forces with the Freman ,the people of Arrakis,and possibly fufil the prophecy of being a messiah figure.....I think I got that right

So this film was a notorious flop that its director,David Lynch has disowned and by some it is seen as a mess of a movie ......And yeah they arent wrong .Its a two hour adaptation of a very long book full of a lot of characters and in a world that is very unfamiliar to avagage joe audiences who thought this would be a typical space opera and directed by a rather oddball director in the form of David Lynch .The film scared off typical audiences due to how confusing it can be and die har fans were equally baffled by some changes.....However due to home video and TV airings it gained a cult following of Sci Fi loving wirdos that apprecitate the film....I am one of those weirdos .Yeah if you were expecting "Dune 1984 sucks" you are gonna be disappointed ,I ADORE this piece of insanity

Its not a perfect film at all ,but if you are in the right headspace it is entertaining .Visually the film is stunning from the costumes to the giant sand worm effects .Cast wise the film is stacked,I actually cant talk about most of the cast cause there are so many characters so here are the 10 that stood out to me

Kyle Machlachlan as Paul Atredies -I need to finish the miniseries and see Dune Part 2 butI actully think Machlachlan is my favorite Paul,for being his first movie he commands the camera

Patrick Stewart as Gurney Halleck -The scene stealer of the film,cast by mistake ,Stewarts performance showcases Gurneys loyalty and gruffness while still making him a likeable presence .Also he runs into battle with a PUG

Sian Phillips as the REverand Mother Mohahiam ,leader of the Benne Gessert,this actress is just a pro at playing creepy villainesses and the Bon Jabar scene where Paul sticks his hand in a box of pain and cant remove it or else she will kill him with a poison needle is so memorable

Dean Stockwell as Dr Yuewh ,the best Dr Yuewh nailing the conflicted man who feels he must betray the man he respects in order to kill the man who killed his wife

Kenneth Mcmilian as the Baron Vladimir Harkonen .Now the Baron isa bit of a basebreaker,cause well ....David Lynch is the one guy who is like"Hey that obese perverted manipulator who wants to bang his nephew and uses a gravity belt to walk....Not repulsive enough " and gives us a cackling boil covered loonatic who flys around like a Peter Pan from your nightmares .Now I understand the backlash.....But for me he is SO Vile ,so despecable,and so over the top ,I find him hilarious .Like I will admit ,I prefer the other versions of the Baron but what makes me enjoy this take ,is the balls to the wall over the top deranged glee Kenneth Mcmillian gives.He is not phoning it is,he is tasked with playing a deseased deranged despicable monster and he pulls it off .It is one of my favorite examples of scene chewing ever

Brad Douriff as Piter De Vries -A small role but a memorable one as the Barons right hand man,Douriff just knows how to play a creepy villain

Linda Hunt as Shaddout Mapes,not much to say she is just very wonderful as this mysterious housekeeper and it impressive for her third movie role

Jose Ferrer as the Emperor.....Is not a good performance,but I kind of love seeing Jose Ferre this award winnig talented actor look baffled by everything around him

Sting as Feyd is weird cause he is technically one of the main villains....But he doesnt do anything till his memorable final fight with Paul,but between Sting sneering in the corner and his memorable steam room scene,he leaves an impression

Jurgen Prochnow as Duke Leto brings a nice fatherly quality and nobility.I like all three actors who have played the Duke ,but Prochnow strikes me as the most noble

I dunno,I find the film very qoutable ('FATHER THE SLEEPER HAS AWAKENED " being a favorite as is "Moods a thing for cattle and love play,not fighting ") ,I think it looks good ,cast is mostly pretty good ,Totos soundtrack kicks ass and hey its Dune,even if not the best adaptation its still a great story.Also on an ironic note,I do enjoy titlting my head at some of the Lynchian changes like the cat milking

If I have a complaint ,its that I prefer the first half of the film to the second ,as it kind of devolves int a bucnh of fight montages and frankly I dont like that they paint Paul as a pure hero when that not what he is

My developmental psych class today talked about social media use, especially with younger generations, and I couldn't help but think about the studies that show that shaming an obese person for their weight actually causes more overeating. When all the adults talk shit about kids and say it's these damn phones, I think it has a similar effect. Instead of saying horrid things, especially about gen alpha, which will likely cause a similar defensive attitude that doesn't help, can we please put the pressure on tech companies and the parents? Like, heavy on the parents. wdym you can't play Barbie's with your kid and you need to shove a tablet in their face. wdym you can't play hide and seek with your toddler and instead plop them in front of the TV. wdym you can't set a boundary with your kid and enforce it. Sorry, that's just embarrassing. People are a product of their environment, and it's so weird that we're blaming literal children for the environment they're put in that's specifically designed to be addicting, instead of working to change the environment. We're attacking the wrong part of the problem

The Barbie Movie

So there has been a few days since the premiere, I have a few thoughts. Spoiler alert, for anyone who hasn't watched it. Also, long post alert!

I really liked the movie. It was funny and witty, and they way they just did things was really smart. I think it was smart to go with actors that are in the 30-40 age range instead of people in their twenties. It wouldn't have been the same and since this was a movie for adults mainly....it just made us relate to the characters more.

It was funny to see the intentional bad editing when Ken crashes into the waves and flips in the air. It really set the universe that these are just dolls that get played with...and that explains the sometimes weird movements and positions.

I also think it was great that the movie was more of a satire-movie of other movie tropes and Barbie itself. Had they taken themselves "serious", it wouldn't have been as funny or enjoyable. Like the chasing scene in the offices. It's clearly a hit to chasing scenes in other movies where they can literally reach other, but it has to look intense and hard. Plus when a movie or a tv-show is self aware, It's immdielty a ten points for me (as long as they dont oversue it).

What my problem with the movie was...or perhaps something I would have done differently is the speech of the mother about what women have to do to look attractive. I think the movie could have gone without it, but then I do think it would be a "backlash" of why they didn't talk about it. I think it would have been fine if they touched onto the issues, but the speech was a little too long and just weird to point out that it was only on women.

It was also a speech only about looks. Like feminism in the west (especially in the states) have taken a turn for the worse. We still need feminism in other parts of the world, where women need rights. Right to talk, right to wear what they want and not get beaten when they don't wear a head piece, where they can be independent and doesn't get promised away. Where newborn girls don't get killed just because they are a girl.

And the movie decided to point it light toward beauty standards. Why not point out real feminist problems and situations. It was just so shallow. I don't deny that men have put a lot of these standard in place, but women have too. I think now days, in the west at leas- women put more pressure on women. And women also put pressure on men. Why touch on the topic and not cover the whole problem???

It was very radical tiktok feminism in the move. If that is a way to explain it. I thought it was little unnatural how the teenager just unloaded onto Barbie when they fist met. I think it was because when my friends and I grew up and played with the dolls, they were just dolls with cool clothing and funny houses. It was just play. We knew we didn't look like that, but we didn't care. I think the whole barbie promotes bad beauty standards did comes from adults watching themselves not look like Babrie and then projected that. I am glad we have Barbies in different shapes and sizes, but acknowledging were it the dissatisfaction with the doll came from wouldn't have taken anything away from the message.

Through the movie, we see different types of Barbies, one in a wheelchair, one obese, all of them in different professions. Which I think it's fine and Barbie has all of these sides with her. But the Ken's were all like Calvin Klein models, had all six pack, were tall and just conventional attractive and the movie only shines a light on how women have too look to be attractive to be "respected".

Like, the pressure on boys to look a attractive, is immensely high. I think it's just as high as on women, just in a different direction. It doesn't need to be a competition on who has it worse. That is why i think the speech-scene was executed badly. She talked about that women have too look like this, but not too much, they have to be good at this, but not too got. Which are true, but when you have half of the cast already as a "victim" to beauty standards; it was just weird.

That kind of also falls into my next point. I have already seen that the obese barbie have gotten some backlash. I think it's fine that they had both her and the barbie in the wheelchair. But I think this was also executed badly too. If they wanted to sell the message that Barbie could look and be like anyone. Why only have one doll that has that body type or those physical handicaps. It just kind of stuck out like a sore thumb in a way. And it also just got highlighted because all of the Kens looked like models. Why not have an obese Ken. Or a Ken in a wheelchair. Or more than just one obese barbie. Why not have a few and let them to their thing as background characters- and then we see that Barbie can be anyone. We just see that they included those character because they had to. I think if it wasn't for the raise of the (toxic) body positivity movement now; they wouldn't have included an so overweight barbie. They kind of just did it because they felt like they needed to. I do hate when movies and tv-shows only have certain kind of character because they want woke-points instead of just telling a good story.

Another thing I turned my nose up at was when Barbie wanted to apologise for how she had treated Ken. She was met with resistance from the others (the mother, daughter and some of the others dolls). This is was I mean with the tiktok- feminism. It pushes the agenda that women can't do anything wrong and that self reflection aren't important. That women cant do anything wrong so why apologise when you have treated someone badly. They wanted to push that a women can do anything and are strong and powerful; but apologising to a man is a big NO NO. Like WTF. That is just childish. I'm glad that Barbie did apologise either way, but that message is just wrong. Growing up, also means that you need to see when you are the bad guy in someone else's story and then take action to fix whatever that is. Not say i'm perfect and then expect everyone else to not get hurt by you.

I did like that all of the Kens came together and was just all bros with each other at the end of the movie. That they weren't scared to hold hands and give a lil kiss during the Ken-song. It was nice. I did like the Kens as characters. It did really go well with the climax of the movie where both Barbie and Ken discovered that they could grown without being "defined" by each other...especially for Ken. I still wish they ended up together as close friends or something. I think we can still show characters growing and evolving, while they still chose to be surrounded by people who love and care for them. We see this tope in American movies a lot, where the protagonist decide to be alone and go out on adventure alone because that is apparently the only way to show independence. Not that independent is something you can be regardless of who you chooses to spend your time with. Did that makes sense...??? It's more on how it's shown in media that steers the characters action.

Overall, it was a very fun movie to watch and I will definitely watch it again. I just think a few things could have been though over twice or executed better. It was refreshing to see that most of the production just wanted to put out a good piece out there with a kind of tongue in cheek and self awake humour. I'm glad it wasn't anything more than that, but still tackled a few topics that both young and older adults can understand and relate to. Plus, it can be enjoyed by both poeple who had barbie dear to their hearts and people that doesn't relate too much towards the doll...and if people have a good time watching it; that is all that matters.

Under-16s will be banned from buying high-caffeine energy drinks in England, if Labour wins 4 July's general election.

Drinks such as Monster, Prime and Red Bull would be blocked from sale, to protect children's health - but Coca-Cola and Lucozade would not be covered by the ban.

The proposal was welcomed by TV chef Jamie Oliver, who said on X, formerly known as Twitter: "You would be amazed if you saw how many kids have breakfast in the form of an energy drink."

Children were "bouncing off the walls" in the classroom, so teachers had to resort to "plan-B or plan-C" lessons, he said.

The Conservatives had planned to ban under-16s from buying energy - but the move was scrapped over concerns about "nanny state" meddling in personal choices.

Most UK supermarkets have introduced a voluntary ban on the sale of energy drinks to under-16s.

In January, a review of the health impact of energy drinks on children highlighted links to more risks than previously thought, such as anxiety, stress and suicidal thoughts.

The packaging on the drinks often says they are not suitable for children, and yet they can be easily bought by under-18s from corner shops, the researchers found.

It is a huge and growing market, and up to a third of UK children drink them every week.

Under Labour's plans, drinks containing more than 150mg (0.03 teaspoons) of caffeine per litre (a pint and three-quarters) would be banned from sale, in retail outlets and online, to under-16s.

Drinks such as Coca-Cola and bottled Lucozade fall under the limit, Labour says.

But a 500ml can of Monster Energy contains 160mg - equivalent to more than three shots of espresso or five cans of Coca-Cola.

Labour's shadow health secretary Wes Streeting warned children were attending school "wired on the equivalent of three shots of espresso, from these toxic drinks".

"It stops them sleeping, damages their mental health.

"How on Earth do we expect children to learn with that in their system?"

Shops would have to check ID if they thought buyers could be under age, as they currently do with alcohol and tobacco.

Trading-standards officers would police the ban and retailers face fines of up to £2,500.

Asked why Labour would not include other high-caffeine drinks such as some coffees, leader Keir Starmer said: "Because this is aimed at children and the sort of drinks that at the moment, the energy drinks, that they are drinking.

"I mean Monster, I think, is the number one.

"Just to give you a sense of that - the caffeine in that is the equivalent of several espressos, which is why it's having such an effect on children's behaviour.

"Talk to anyone who's in a school and they'll tell you what the problem is."

The Lib Dems says they would extend the "sugar tax" on soft drinks to juice-based and milk-based drinks that are high in added sugar.

In Scotland, meal deals are to be stripped of crisps and fizzy drinks under SNP plans to tackle an obesity crisis.

Reacting to Labour's announcement, Gavin Partington, director general of the British Soft Drinks Association, said: “In line with and in the spirit of our own long-standing Code of Practice, BSDA members do not market or promote the sale of energy drinks to under 16s and label all high-caffeine beverages as ‘not recommended for children’, so we welcomed the move by retailers to voluntarily restrict sales to under 16s."

He urged any move to ban sales of energy drinks to be "evidence based".
