I can’t help it, my favourites of Måneskin songs from their new album sound so much like The Hinterland Doctrine to me, that I just start to feel sad while listening to them.

For example

This is The House, obviously. Light’s universe. Light’s point of view and incapability to see good in people. His judgement of people who act just exactly like he does.

I mean, “This place is a circus, you just see the surface, they cover shit under the rug, you can’t see they’re faking, they’ll never be naked”.

This circus of gossip, L and Light both playing these dirty hypocrisy games, ew, disgusting, I wonder what will be next :D

This is 100% L’s song. He is just always running. Afraid of being alone, stopping for a moment, because then he’ll see all the wrongs he has done.

I love the part “I’m a lion tamer of indecent behaviour, making love with danger, it’s not gonna heal me, but at least I like it and I don’t wanna change it”, like, L, is that you? :D

I hate and love how desperate this song sounds. I think this song shows really well Light’s and L’s hunger for belonging. They want to keep that feeling they have between them, but unfortunately, not one of them is committed enough, not one of these two is really ready to work on themselves and make sacrifices.

It’s so tragic. “I was made for you” instead of being a happy beginning turns out to be a very very sad ending of both.

is the lie that you never used to read AUs? I don't know how long ago that might have been, but I do know you read twsfnffa and I'm pretty sure thats an AU (I haven't read it yet, but I've heard you mention those!light a lot and it doesn't sound like canon light)

Good guess, but nope, that one is true! When I was new to this fandom and new to reading/writing fanfic I for some reason was really snooty about the concept of AUs. I only wanted to read things set in the canon universe that closely followed canon rules! 😅 I find it funny now, because I almost actually prefer AUs at this point when I read fanfic. Younger me was missing out

Please, be aware of spoilers.

Somehow, in the middle of my disgust with Light Yagami I’ve found myself being quite fond of Light and Kiyomi couple.

I love how sometimes he refers to them as “incestous twins”.

Maybe I am wrong, but it feels like subconsciously Light might be quite fond of her.

She is a reliable and supportive partner. She is capable of understanding.

It could’ve been good, if only.
