Pinterest inspiration for a living room. I'm going to start little design challenges so I can get better at interior (and eventually exterior) design.
Challenge #1 wasn't the best, but it's definitely a good start!
This was built in my Test hood, not Astoria.

@hugelunatic (HL) @nervosims and @teaaddictyt have made some great replies to this post!
HL’s reply says:
“I have Origin UC and use an old school no-cd, and my pc updated to 22H2 last month and I've not had an issue. I'd check your anti virus and make sure the entirety of the sims 2 uc folder in program files is whitelisted.
Also, I posted a bit back a link to Origin Thin Client that allows you to repair the Origin install. It doesn't install Origin, just runs as a thin client.”
Nervo Sims anecdote says:
“some people on reddit have complained that ea had been taking the sims 2 out of their libraries for no apparent reason. maybe it could be connected to that?”
Tea Addict’s anecdote says:
@fwaysims I have Origin TS2UC too but use the RPC to launch - but I had someone in my Discord have something similar happen to them last night installing updates too! They have the EA app and couldn't re-download the UC 😥 I'd definitely go for "other" methods too if I were you
Thank you all so much! I have resorted to the “other” method, and currently getting my game up to snuff now.
Also @teaaddictyt I also wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed watching your channel!
PSA: Windows 11 22H2 EATS TSBin Files (at least that’s what I suspect)
About a year or so ago I updated my windows 10 laptop to windows 11, which was no issue as far as games and things go. This latest update, which has been sitting on my to-do list for a few days (maybe weeks?) and I decided, what the hell, I’ll update it tonight. BAD IDEA.

TS2 Fresh install - tips and useful mods
Hi guys, how are you? I’m off to work but I had 10 spare minutes to check on the pc... I wrote this post on MTS a while ago and I meant to share it with you: I guess some people might still not be aware of the existance of these mods and how default neighborhoods work, so why not sharing it here too?
Just one little note: this is not a tutorial, nor original tips I wrote myself, but rather a collection of suggested hacks and mods that will make the game look/work better (imho). All credits to the original posters!
Premade Neighborhoods VS Custom Hoods
Hoods are quite easy to move around/be edited/created, you just need to keep track their ID numbers. Basically, each hood has assigned a 4 letter "name" and everytime you create one, it will continue the numeration. In a vanilla game, you will have a total of 6 hoods (Pleasantview, Strangetown, Veronaville, Riverblossom Hills, Desiderata Valley and Belladonna Cove) - the first 3 are respectively named "N001", "N002" and "N003" and any other player made hood will follow this system, meaning that a new hood in a fresh install will be named "N004". The following ones have completely new numbers/letters to avoid conflict with any custom hood you might have created before installing an EP that add one of the "extra" hoods. For this reason, if you ever decide to create a custom hood, I'd suggest you to rename it asap - you can either do it manually or using a software (I've always used "Bulk Rename Utiliy", which is great and free). You can rename the hood using any alphanumerical character, as long as it's 4 letters short - I usually use some letters from the name I gave.
More than one TS2 folder in Documents!
On a similar note, you might want to keep more than one "The Sims 2" folder in your documents. For me it's useful to keep one for when I want to create something BodyShop, which it would be quite slow to load in may main game folder, due to the huge amount of CC. You just need to rename the one you don't want to use in something else - the game won't read it unless it's called "The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection". Some simmers use this system to have themed CC hoods - you could have a medieval one, a futuristic one, a victorian one and switch from one to another according to what you'd like to play.
Clean Templates and where to find them My first tip is to download clean/fixed templates since, no matter what, the EAxis ones are corrupted in some aspetcs. You can find more info here or here Also, it might be a good idea to get rid of some "extra" families and Sim that are automatically added to the game: http://modthesims.info/d/520751/cle...-templates.html
Essential mods for your game There are a number of critical fixes and mods that improve the game stability and also the playability, you can read more here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=532696
Graphics & Memory Allocation Also, if the game runs on a newer machine, you might probabily double check also the Graphic Rules Maker and the 4GB Patch.
Lesyasun knows better!!
On the "appearance side" there are a lot of mods which make the game look so much better, including lighting mods , water overhaul and skylines: http://lesyasun.tumblr.com/post/175...to-make-my-game
Useful tools and organasing your Downloads Also, if you intend to use custom items, don't forget to download the CEP, the Clean Installer and the Download Organiser - the first two are essentials for managing/see CC, while the latter is a nice software that help reorganising your downloads. You can organise your Download folder in subfolders, some other simmers have shared an empty structure that you can use instead of creating it from scratch: http://allisas.tumblr.com/post/3241...mething-we-were.
I’m quite sure I’ve missed something huge/more important than the rest but at least is something.
Enjoy and please do let me know if there’s anything to be edited or not clear :)

How To Request A TS2UC “SC4 Rebuild” House from Le Me
Locate the house/building you want in SC4, zoom all the way in on it.
If it’s a residential lot, grab a Sim to move in & hover over the house to highlight it in green. Take a pic of the text to show me the name of the house.
If it’s a “community lot”, tell me what type. (Commercial-Low? Farmland? Industrial? Tech Sector? Library? Etc.)
Take at least 3 pics of the full building, unobstructed (front/back/side).
I’d prefer 4 pics, a full “spin around” of the building, but I can work from 3.
You may have to knock down the other surrounding buildings to get an unobstructed view, just quit without saving after demolishing whatever was around your building.
Your images should look something like this (but with more pics, please!) & You can send me the images themselves via Tumblr chat, a link to the image via Tumblr chat or Tumblr Ask, reblog this & add your request as a response/reply to this post, or post ONLY the request to your own Tumblr & tag me in the request.
Then let me work my magic.
If you have other details you’d like me to include in the house, tell me about it when you send the pics! (NOT required.)
How many Sims live there? What are their family ties? (ex. A married couple with a dog, one elderly parent, & 2 children. Cohabiting siblings who are both single parents, with 3 children between them. A “crazy cat person” with 5 cats.)
Do they have a favorite color or aesthetic? (ex. Grandma wants carpeted bathrooms. Eldest child is a goth whose favorite color is pink. Fluffy's favorite hobby is chewing through doors.)
Is this a Starter Home? (I will try to keep costs low. You can plop a Mortgage Bush as needed.)
Is the house old or new? Has it ever had renovations or additions built onto it? (ex. Spouse recently redid half the kitchen with the new Kitchen&Bath Stuff Pack. This home was inherited from an elderly Uncle.)
Does the family run a home business? What type of business is it?
Do you have a specific spot in your own TS2 neighborhood you’d like to put this? (Send me a pic of the spot, tell me how big it is, show me what direction the lighting is facing on surrounding buildings.)
Fair Warnings:
I am NOT doing the real-world landmarks, such as the Hollywood Sign.
NOT EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. I will not be able to make a 3-story historical Victorian Starter Home that can house 8 Sims & has recently been upgraded with Glamour Life Stuff furniture.
I am not a fast person, in general. Don’t expect to have a house tomorrow. Don’t get concerned if you don’t have a house next week.
I may not be able to take ALL requests, but throw things at me & let’s see what sticks!
ONE BAD APPLE RUINS THE WHOLE BUNCH. Behave yourselves.

Best guide to get reshade to work for TS2UC? thanks!
Hi! Here’s a specific tutorial to get ReShade to work on the UC. There’s also this tutorial by @themixedbagofwhat that works for any version of the game (for the UC, read the instructions in the description box). That’s the one that got ReShade working on my obscure All-In-One version of the game from The Pirate Bay lmao.

Hi! I'm interested in trying to install Reshade again for my TS2UC game. My only problem is that I just can't find a working link to download the Xenos injector. Could you help me out?
Okay, so I found the github release of the Xenos injector, it is here. Note that when you download it your browser may tell you it is dangerous and if you run a virus scan on it your computer may tell you it has found several threats. From my understanding, this is because of what an injector does/how it works is seen by the anti-virus programs as a virus. I’ve personally never had a problem with anything from github but I just felt like saying this is a use-at-your-own-risk sort of thing.

Astoria Hills — Hood Deco
Earlier today I started work on my new neighborhood’s deco. I made a small plaza with some items that came with the game as well as cc. I have TS2UC, so I don’t know if the carousel and some of the fencing comes with the base game or another ep. Anyway, here’s a list of the pictured items:
Custom Content:
Bench by @limonaire

Also out of the Kings’ family, we have younger siblings; Candice & Carmen. Candice is in her freshmen year at SSU to be a teacher - she’s free spirited, nice, outgoing, and very down-to-earth. I guess she’s the hippie out of the King clan. She’s very friendly and wants to change the world. Carmen is still at home with the parents attending high school - what a drag... She’s very high maintenance and is quite sassy. She has intentions of following her siblings steps and attending college at SSU as well.

Hi, when I install rashade, on TS2UC, theoretically when the game opens, it should show "reshade version bla bla bla" at the top. Small problem, it does not appear. When I try to use the key I usually use to open reshade on other games, the list of the various presets I have does not appear. Any advice on how to solve the problem? I followed your tutorial.
Hey @shadowsoulknight I'm sorry I can't help you, the tutorial isn't originally mine, I just reblogged it. I don't personally even use Reshade, though I wish I could. You can try contacting the original creator or maybe here someone can help you? Can anyone help this fellow simmer?

Astoria Hills — Hood Deco and Apartment Complex
I was working on an apartment layout I drafted and decided to add a hood deco complex next to it to make the area next to the cafes feel a bit more “lived in”.
The apartment I actually built came along pretty decently. It’s 4 units so two of the 1bd layout and two of the 2bd layout. Not really happy with the exterior and interior color schemes so I may eventually change it. Also, not quite happy with the front yard layout — might have to axe the pool. The 2bd layout is not exactly true to the design I created in Photoshop — couldn’t quite get the proportions right but it still turned out decenty.
As for the hood deco I placed next door, that was fun! I wanted something to take up a bit of blank space on the map without actually having to build it from scratch. I really love this map, but I will say one caveat is that it’s very hilly and the terrain can make it hard to build or place things in corners. And there are a lot of slopes (towards the waterfront). But this still turned out great in my opinion! I placed another bus stop towards the back of the cafe because I want this hood to seem transit friendly. (And now that I think about it, maybe this will be an excuse to use “walk to lot” more often for my households.)
I have a problem where I’ll start building lots or hood and then never finish them, but I don’t think that will be an issue with Astoria since I’m in school. I’ll need something to help me recharge after all this homework. Speaking of which...time to get started on my English and Math assignments.
I also started a YouTube channel after seeing @anibats’ channel earlier today! I’m not good at remember to turn my game bar/screen recorded on, but when I do I will probably upload my speed builds there.
Bye!!

Belladonna Cove: Audrey Manor Exterior Renovation
Ok I am tapping out for tonight. Its 1:19 AM here. But before I go I leave you here with a taste of the good life. Audrey Manor is the place where the crème de la crème live in the lap of luxury. These luxury apartments are on a 40X30 lot with many indoor amenities that came with the original build. I did a major overhaul on the exterior and spruced the interior up just a little bit. There are 4 units ranging from 1944-3646 in rental costs. This lot is CC Free, and was made over using TS2UC.
*Update: I fixed the window that was a little off center in the view of the back of the property and replaced the DL link. OCD can be a B*$^#!
