Possession is such a good season because it does several characters so well. People fixate on Morro and Lloyd, obviously, for well reason, but possession does really good shit with Kai (his relationship to lloyd, parallels with morro, and general characterization), Nya with her entire arc over the season, wu’s history and character, and started Cole’s ghost era which is SUCH a fun era for him. It’s well liked for a reason, imo.

hey if you write in microsoft word, you should get libre office. it's free, constantly updated, doesn't use AI, and has all the features you're used to. there are lots of user guides and add-ons to make it as easy for you as possible, and it's been around for a long time now.

write in google docs instead? try ellipsus. it's in beta and free to join and use. it's being actively worked on and improved, openly opposes AI, and has all the features you need for a collaborative document tool while also being extremely easy to navigate. it's also made by fans, for fans, with a promise that anything you can write is allowed.

i've used both of these programs extensively and can vouch for them, ellipsus especially. ellipsus currently only imports .md files if you wanna move your stuff over, but gdocs can export those no problem and copy + pasting rich text also works fine. (they're also going to add more formats.) ellipsus also has an import to ao3 function that pastes your document's raw html into a new work window as long as you're logged into ao3. remember how gdocs formats weird in ao3 unless you do some html fuckery to fix it? yeah, this makes that a non-issue.

don't give big corporations your money and/or data. you can always start small, and picking a better program to write fic in is a great place to begin. i promise these programs are both way more worth your time than their mainstream counterparts.

I must say, I love how Callum waited for Claudia to look at him before destroying her potion.

He absolutely could have just emptied it as soon as he grabbed it and then joined Ezran and Rayla, but he chose to wait, to pick his moment.

Whether or not Rayla knew cutting off the tentacle would result in an actual amputation for Claudia, I’m interested to see. (Personally, I think not, though I think even if she did know, or suspect, she would have done it anyway, seeing herself as having no choice.)

Callum, however, looked Claudia directly in the eye and, without hesitation, took away the means she had to breathe.

Just remembered that at my grandmother's wake, this random elderly guy showed up saying that he saw her name in the obits and almost didn't come because he knew he would be out of place because no one would know him. He explained that he and my grandmother weren't even really friends, but they were neighbors when they were children, and that he always thought she was beautiful and so full of life and he liked her attitude (she wore the clothes she wanted to wear and did what she wanted to do and no one could tell her otherwise) and he always wished she would notice him. They never even saw each other again after she graduated high school. He was a few years younger than her.

It wasn't creepy or weird. He grew up and moved on and lived his whole life, and decided to put on his dress clothes and come to her wake out of the simple desire to share these memories with people who loved her. Maybe it was the last time he would ever share those memories, maybe it was the first time. I don't know.

He was able to give all of us a glimpse into her life before we knew her. His memory went back further than the oldest photo we had of her. This random stranger who showed up to my grandmother's wake for maybe 10 minutes had such a profound impact on my entire memory of her death. I don't remember his name. But it was very nice to hear him speak about her. He gave us a strange little gift of a moment frozen in time that maybe, up until then, only existed in his memory. Now it exists in my memory. I think that's neat. I'm really glad he convinced himself to show up for her.

my newest and cool lore tidbit that i was meditating on was how the m-34th makes their weapons and tools magic-resistant ... as an aside, its been in my mind for a while that magic has something to do with bones, like bones being the "pathways" of magic, and thus one of the hardest materials to work with as a witch if its possible to work with them at all.

im still fleshing out this idea and deciding if its something i want to work with but in practice how it manifests in the story is that magic cant/has a hard time healing broken bones, and a broken bone disrupts the flow of magic in a witch or mage (this was originally murdas weakness equivalent to mochis thing with water-- as the crow witch shes good at flying but only because her bones are easily broken). the reason im hesitating to use it is that it seems like a HUGE weakness for any witch but supposedly they have magic that can at least reinforce bones OR madam springs has methods for relatively quick organic healing

anyway back to the m-34th point, i think it would be fucking baller if they managed to create magic resistant shields and weapons by infusing the bones of past black canvases into a super hard metal material as to be able to cut down anything material and also anything magic
