I think the appeal is due to some fanart I've seen with Jade X Trey that portrays them as very silly! Specifically, Jade being a bit unhinged, obsessed and silly with Trey! It's very funny to me and I like to think with the addition of Reader/Yuu, it's even better!

To me, Trey is attracted to the type of person who he doesn't actively have to take care of, but likes to come to him for the little things. He's already tired of having to always be the parental or brotherly figure for others. He doesn't mind doing it sometimes, but all the time is exhausting.

Jade and Yuu are the type of partners who are very capable of taking care of themselves. Trey doesn't have to worry about always looking after either of them, but he does like it when they come to him for some things.

Jade I think would tease Trey because of his first perceptions of him (for example, Trey's views of Jade in Jade's Ceremonial Robes vignette) and play up the whole, "woe is me, my brother and Azul mercilessly bully me :'("

Yuu is just a tad bit of a troublemaker who likes to tease Trey and give him trouble from time to time, so it pairs well with Jade! They prod at him a lot until he's at his limit, and then giggle and give him each a kiss on the cheek.

Jade also likes Yuu because of how entertaining they are, the amount of chaos they cause. They're a cute little human that just needs his protecting! And also because they enable him in teasing Trey, which is fun.

They're also very good at providing Trey with a mode to de-stress...nights in Trey's room when all three are present are sure to be fun~

I am so invested in these two I didn't even pay much attention to Susan Twist. Or the fact that the bad guys were canonically roleplaying Bridgerton cosplayers. Or to Ruby, really (bless her).

I had been wondering how the other boat could possibly house our nautical murderer but they can fly!! Duh! 🍎 @notquitedeadpod (XXXX) AAAAAAAH. SUCH a good episode and SUCH a good ending to the season!! Ohh the acting was SO good. It hurt me to hear Neige like that. Alfie’s rage and panic and despair were so palpable. The scenes at the facility were perfectly gory. I guess the benefit of having a 10000 year old vampire boyfriend is that he’s survived without cars and electricity before and, by God, he’ll do it again. I am wishing Eira nothing but impeccable and easy planning and writing for the next season! I can’t wait!!!

So I've been following you for a bit and I have finally crossed the threshold from "this person I follow really loves this media and I love seeing their love for it on my dash, so glad they're having fun" over to "I wanna have fun, too." okay so both patpran and inkpa are canon pairings from the thai bl bad buddy and its related special episodes! all are produced by the thai production company gmmtv.

the show and all related episodes are available to watch on youtube with english subtitles - i'll link to relevant playlists.

THE MAIN SHOW: BAD BUDDY THE SERIES

directed by "aof" noppharnach chaiyahwimhon (who is gay himself), and starring "nanon" korapat kirdpan as pran, and "ohm" pawat chittsawangdee as pat. the original show is twelve episodes, which aired from october 2021 to january 2022. i watched it for the first time in february 2022 and have not known peace every since

the premise is that pat and pran, who have lived next door to each other since birth, have been rivals all their lives because their families hate each other. after pran's sent off to boarding school for three years, they are unexpectedly reunited at university - where they find that their friend groups are also enemies, so they have to keep up the pretense of hating each other. but of course they fall in love instead!

the main story is about patpran, but inkpa is a canon side pairing featuring "love" pattranite limpatiyakorn as pa, pat's younger sister, and "milk" pansa vosbein as ink, a classmate of pat and pran's. though they get less screentime, i still think they have a delightful romantic arc themselves!

SPECIAL EPISODES

zero photography: an inkpa special episode that is set after the main show. directed by "tee" bundit sintanaparadee, whom i don't know much about, and aired in august 2022

our skyy x bad buddy x a tale of thousand stars: so our skyy 2 was an anthology of special episodes released between april and june 2023 for a bunch of different gmmtv bls. each show was supposed to have two special eps for their characters, but since two shows directed by p'aof were getting special eps (the other one being a tale of thousand stars, also a delightful show), he decided to use four episodes as a crossover of the two shows. in the bad buddy timeline, these eps take place during a timeskip that happens in the original show between episodes 11 and 12, and features patpran but has a few great inkpa appearances too. you don't really need to have seen atots to understand the eps, i don't think? but they probably are more enjoyable if you have haha

EXTRAS

"just friend" music video: nanon sings two songs on the bad buddy soundtrack, and ohm sings one for our skyy 2, all of which have music videos, but i'm linking to this song of nanon's particularly because the music video its own story unrelated to the show at all! it's very cute and is basically an au where they are employees at the same hotel (and in love of course)

23.5 degrees the series: this is not technically related to bad buddy, but milk and love are going to be starring in gmmtv's first full-length gl, 23.5 degrees, which will be directed by "fon" kanittha kwunyoo (who i believe is a lesbian)! thai gls are just starting to get attention and backing by the major tv studios, and milklove's known chemistry from playing inkpa, as well as an exciting supporting cast and director, are making everyone super excited for this

there are also TONS of behind-the-scenes and making-of extras if you get into the show but i figured this was enough to start with :D

Ok watched sonic 3 here's what I think...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOOOOD AAAAAAA!!!!

anyways: actual coherent thoughts (SPOILERS, DUH):

I really loved keanu reaves as shadow, his voice fits pretty good for him. I loved the ovevrall plot, and COD the fights were amazing! that first one was just fan-fucking-tastic!!!!!! I absolutely adore shadow getting a gun, and then shadow fighting sonic on the bike IT WAS SO FUCKING PEAK AAAAAAAAH

oh my cod and the flashbacks with Maria...where the music starts to play and THEN IT HARD CUTS TO SHADOW PLAYING THE SONG COD MY HEART!!!!! THAT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!

However, there were some things I didn't like...it mainly has to do with the plot.

I understand wanting to deviate from the original story, i get it...but...I would've liked it if it was just a little bit closer to SAO2. The only real change I would make is having Gerald be dead. Either he dies in the explosion or in prison. Having him also be played by jim carry wasn't the best choice in my opinion because it really undercuts the seriousness of the story, and the serious moments. I loved the scene where he's just played straight. Maria dies and he's crying with shadow, it's SO good...but then you cut to "ThE WAcKy OlD insAnO GuY!" with his wacky grandkid and it just kinda took me out of it. COD and the way he was killed just...just...really? He get's poked in the ass and *poof*? really? That just fucking sucked. At least play his death straight like with Robtnick's, come on.

Either play his character straight or just not include him. you can't try to play him straight and make him basically a clone of robotnik. I get that's the joke and that he's supposed to be insane but it just doesn't work that well...

I also would've played all of shadow and sonic's super form team up at once. Having it intercut with eggman and gerald's fight runined it just a little. Hearing Live and learn was fucking awsome though. i just wish the scene was all together.

Overall, I thought it was SUPER GOOD. Could've been better, but it was really good.

oh, and how could I forget....

I'm docking (very few) mental points for the ending because that felt weirdly rushed, but other than that? love it. I could've done without Yamato going back and forth on the boundary-respecting – I just don't like the "no no no yes" stereotype, and they had Kakeru play to that one too many times imo. but. I wish we could get rid of that trope, and I REALLY wanted Kakeru to initiate at least ONE kiss (or at least for us to get one that wasn't dead-fish-y on his part, I guess), but that's about it for complaints (and I know jdorama aren't big on kisses most of the time anyway).

I'm going to miss this little show!
