Thinking about how in the Genshin 2.8 update Mona was the transparent bird made of crystal that sang the most beautiful songs but since people couldn't see it nobody believed it was there (a play on how nobody seems to take Mona's readings/divinations seriously).

So the bird flew up into the sky, up, up high and then it became a shinning bright star. The shiniest star in the sky! So bright that it was an impossibility for anybody to ignore it or deny that it even exists.

It would guide the lost who were lost at sea with its brilliant light and make sure that they were never lost again (just like how Mona wants and hopes that everybody can fulfill some sort of happiness at the end of their fate).

This bird-turned-star was born in wisdom, but trapped in ignorance (Mona alluding to perhaps knowing more than she should, but being limited in certain things thanks to Teyvat). But the bird-turned-star never complained about this because it knew this is why it came into this life to do, to guide others down the path towards their fate and not allow them to be aimless and get lost (Mona probably speaking about what she's in Teyvat to do).

And it makes me think about how Wanderer feels like he's aimless, lost, and hollow, how he feels like there's no sense of direction for him and he isn't grounded. How he is literally trying to find and clutch to something so that there is meaning to his existence, for there to be /meaning/ on why he's still around even after everything that happened. And then how a huge animal motif for him is the cat. The cat who was angry and would bare his sharp teeth to the moon and get angry at the dark black sky devoid of any sort of star.

writing advice for characters with a missing eye: dear God does losing an eyes function fuck up your neck. Ever since mine crapped out I've been slowly and unconsciously shifting towards holding my head at an angle to put the good eye closer to the center. and human necks. are not meant to accommodate that sorta thing.
