i'm sorry but i don't think we should call this the "autism website" when there's still posts with tons of notes mocking people who:
struggle with social skills / have anxiety around social settings
are unemployed / unable to work certain jobs
have intense or "age-inappropriate" interests
haven't had certain life experiences that are deemed universal/essential
struggle with personal hygiene
don't have any friends or dating experience
don't go outside much or at all
take things literally / don't get sarcasm/jokes
have unusual ways of speaking
generally aren't "normal"

NYT article abt goncharov has comments like 'what is the purpose of this film's existence these kids are just lying' motherfucker how do you think our ancestors survived. how do you think folklore formed. culture. music. art. PURPOSE????? do you think everything must be commodified? sold? weighed to be valued? has the rot in your soul spread so far you cannot find value in anything not spoken in numbers??? it's FUN. THAT'S WHY. THE PURPOSE IS THE ACT, THE MESSAGE IS THE MEDIUM, THE SYMBOL IS THE STORY. it brings people joy for its mere existence and that IS the point. existence is its purpose alone

being in the saw fandom is so funny. non-horror fans think you’re sick in the head, sensible horror fans don’t like them/don’t wanna subject themselves to all that, extreme horror fans think you’re a phillistine. most of the fandom is dickriding either Brunette Guy or Brunette Girl. there’s 10.7 of these movies and 5 to 9 of them suck depending on who you ask. they’re all straddling the lines between horror, crime drama and soap opera. every single ship is utterly unmarketable. everyone has 2 saw jokes and they’re both bad. there seems to be a prevailing assumption that the puppet is the bad guy. the actual bad guy was confirmed bisexual on tiktok

poseidon’s relationship with percy is something that is so personal to me. love so flawed and complicated, so wary and tentative. your father is here. he’s always been here. he’s not sure what to make of you but he is proud of you. you’re not sure what to make of him either. you’re sally jackson’s son, but you have your father’s eyes. you are the sea as much as he is. trust him. trust yourself. breathe. the sea does not like to be restrained.

sometimes a healthy relationship isn't 50/50 because it can't be, and that's okay.
disabled people who cannot take on an equal portion of the work in a relationship deserve to be loved too, if that's what they want. and as long as their partner is getting the support they need, and is happy to take on that work, then what's the issue? it's nobodys business but your own the way that works in your relationship.
if you or your partner are disabled, and you can't split the work in the relationship 50/50, that's okay. you're not abusive, or a baby, or unloveable because of that. I promise

The fact that I can wholeheartedly enjoy ofmd and good omens and appreciate the angst because I KNOW there will be a happy ending.
See, I’ve never had that. None of us queer folks have ever had that.

extremely funny how my mother is constantly trying to get me to enter into local writing contests. i write pornography online for freaks, ma’am. i’m not qualified to write adventure stories.

the merlin ending is so heartbreaking. arthur is discovering for the first time exactly who merlin is. morgana is tightly holding on to her last shred of hope, realising all of her efforts were in vain. gwen waits for a husband who will never come home, and camelot waits with her. gwaine dies for nothing, in percivals arms, and percival watches. arthur feels he's been lied to for ten years, and merlin thinks he hates him. morgana dies alone, unloved. we as the viewers are given the last shred of hope, the miniscule belief that he might just lives, but it is in vain. merlins efforts, his life, his destiny, is in vain. he has failed. Arthur dies anyway. gwen and Leon and percival and merlin are the only originals left. merlin spends the rest of his life and many more waiting for arthur, and that is how it ends. on a positive so faint it can barely be heard. it ends with a broken queen and a grieving kingdom and a failed sorcerer and a dead king. it ends, centuries later, with arthur gone and merlin waiting
