i lovvveee the drogo and primula that exist in my head. like its like they are the twisted and weird as hell versions of bungo and belladonna except infinitely less stable and mature like. one of relationship is a reliable, comfortable hearth and the other is a star that burns hard and fast and dies even faster

if you looked at these pairs from a distance they would look like very similiar couples, dynamic wise. you’ve got the ~wild~ took (or tookish brandybuck) girl and the stuffy baggins boy. but once you actually look you would realize they are completely different

bungo was a needed sense of home in belladonna’s life. he gave her something to actually come back to, a reason to come home and stay there. a reason to want to be in the shire. he literally built her a house. he loved all her weirdness and her tookishness, of course, even if it scared him a little sometimes. but mostly he just loved her. i think once everyone else got used to them being together they regarded belladonna and bungo as like... the couple. ultimate hobbit couple goals. they were madly in love and they knew how to handle it. they were normal about it, ya know? like a cute elderly couple or something.

but drogo and primula... uhhh...

lets just say, this was a match made in hell in eyes of their families.

drogo was a perfectly good hobbit before primula. fussy, stuffy, a little stuck up and a lot a coward - guy was the quintessential baggins. probably never even kissed a girl. and then primula happened.

primula is a firestorm. widely regarded as a hell-raiser, trouble-maker and disturber of the peace. often pictured standing on top of the burning corpse of respectability and good hobbit sense. not much of an adventurer per se, but definitely a little manic. somebody that definitely needs to be kept away from alcohol at all costs. takes pleasure in causing other people mental anguish and is total adrenaline junky. everything about her screams unstable, unrespectable. seriously, shes had like seven boyfriends, even a girlfriend or two

and then she starts flirting with drogo. and to everyone’s horror, he’s kinda into it.

whats worse is that she only becomes more insane, all to impress drogo. and. it fucking works.

primula is wild. probably a little deranged. and shes the most fun drogo has ever had in his life:

being the perfect baggins is boring, okay? there, he admitted it! he doesnt like being stuffy and fussy, locked up in his little hobbit hole stuck officiating mind-numbingly boring tea parties with distant relatives pretending to be interested in doilies, wondering about all the fun hes too scared to find.

but primula. primula.

she doesnt mind that hes a squeaky little coward who whines about unnecessary dangers and stained shirts. its like she sees through him, sees through all his toothless simpering that feels more like a force of habit than actual protests. shes exciting, shes fun, shes actually insane,

oh, and drogo! the flirting didnt really mean anything to primula, not at first. she flirts with a lot of hobbits, just because its fun. little primula motto for you: if its fun, why hold back?

but drogo is different. she didnt notice it at first, but once she did she was hooked.

he looks like the perfect baggins, acts like the perfect baggins. but its all an act, and shes the first one to see through it. he whines about danger and irrespectability, and hes not actually pretending to be scared. but theres a spark in his eyes when she steals a cart and takes them on a wild joy ride through hobbiton. hes screaming, but hes also laughing, she knows that look he has:

like he just started living for the first time in his life.

drogo was coaxed and eased into love. primula fell into it full force and with bang when she realized that this stuffy little baggins who cares about table arrangements and handkerchiefs is the first hobbit to also know thats it not just about being a menace for menace sake, thats its not about causing chaos. its about feeling alive. and he feels it too.

bungo and belladonna fell in love as equal and opposite forces, coming together like two puzzle pieces that somehow complemented each other perfectly. primula and drogo didnt fall in love with their opposites. they fell in love with the first hobbit in their lives that actually understood them. that actually got it. they fell in love because they were, at heart, the same. and yeah they burned so damn bright and died like a supernova but god, it was amazing while it lasted, wasn’t it?

hes studying for an associates in mortuary sciences and a minor in forensics. to become an embaler, (and he really wishes to start his own funeral home at some point.) he is ahead of the class and knows a lot more than what he’s been taught (for obvious reasons) and it gets to his ego a lot. but he still is very invested and uses a lot of his time for studying.

for alex,

his major is in christian history and a minor in psychology (obviously), he really plans on doing something in the psychology field rather than history, (seems how theres not much he could do with that degree).

Alex and Nigel share a dorm obviously.

most people do genuinely believe they hate eachother, they arent ever really seen close together when on campus and they both likely talk shit about eachother to their friends. (mostly alex because nigel keeps to himself, cause hes a little freak weirdo (affectionately))

its not uncommon for alex to fall asleep next to (or on) nigel while he studies, and for nigel to, rarely sleep.

nigel doesnt sleep a lot (insomnia core) but when he does it’s usually because alex is actually being nice (only for a little bit probably) and doing something that sooths his nerves like scratching his back/scalp or something else though he doesn’t necessarily stay asleep for long.

alex loves having free time and spending it doing things he probably shouldnt, and is definitely an adrenaline junkie, nigel is less of that and rolls his eyes at that behavior because he thinks its “immature”

they both are still obviously horrible for eachother and manipulate eachother to do horrible things, but yk their souls are so deeply intertwined and they belong together in their own fucked up way.

i wonder if this line implies sokols done cocaine before. i mean theres no direct mention of it but its jimmy

i think sokol tries to be friendly to most heisters because he has no fucking friends after leaving russia. dallas is kind to him but sokol feels odd making small talk with him due to viewing him more as a boss than anything. he asks dallas about how things in the usa are like (usually involving bear meat for some reason.)

i feel like sokol is a very hungry fella. hes athletic, 6'2, and a russian who mentions food pretty often. he cant be trusted with a buffet. i believe that jacket is the #1 food thief and it pisses sokol off immensely when hes hungry as fuck for his burger just to discover jacket snatched it.

sokols early behavior makes some of the heisters uncomfortable. notably sydney, joy, houston, and jacket. this is of course because theyre all either gay or disabled, sometimes both, and sokol hails from a country notoriously hostile towards those minorities. ive spoken about this so often. i dont think any of them other than jacket were nervous of him at first but immediately after sokol joins the team they start noticing that he is shocked and scared of some things that are normalized in the usa.

sokol looks like hes so focused and lost in thought all the time but hes zoning out 90% of the time. he has adhd and never knew about it until houston brought it up one day. i also think sokol has dyscalculia which he also discovered existed when houston and sydney brought it up. "mate i tell ya i cannawt do maths for shit." "oh really" "yea like i cant even read some of the numbers its all jumbled up and shit in here" "oh you got dyscalculia" "Wat is dat? i thought it was normal" he thought it was like a disease at first

sokol loves robbing casinos and this predictably led to an acute gambling problem. its not nearly as bad as bonnies is but he needs to have dokkan battle forcibly removed from his phone. ive mentioned those gambling arcade games before.

hes also an adrenaline junkie and gets hyperactive really easily, begging other heisters to play hockey with him or go with him on an unprompted heist. if hes bored for too long he'll start pacing around the safehouse and bothering people. sometimes this adrenaline search or just searching for entertainment gets him injured from things nobody would expect. he once tried to see how many cinderblocks he could hold above his head and broke his foot which meant he couldnt heist for a bit

he is reckless. hes good at making drills and shit but he rarely thinks before he acts. he can listen when he knows he needs to during stealth but during loud is nigh uncontrollable and it pisses everyone off. at least they can trust jacket to not get in trouble during stealth but sokol if not being told exactly what to do constantly will try to speed things up to everyones detriment

ok but like in every superion bio theres mention of him tamping down/blocking out his components to become the cold, focused combiner that he is, and i feel like "supressing yourself so you can actually function" is just sooooo on the nose, yknow?

skydive obviously has a special interest in history and war strategy. helpful, when you're the strategist of the team. hes like, a genuine savant when it comes to flying, but he can easily get caught up infodumping abt the pilot who created the technique theyre trying to practice, instead of actually practicing. hes the kinda guy who has to make Everything about his special interest, but stays pretty quiet if he cant.

slingshot is SO classic Cant Regulate Emotions At All. he makes up for it by being a showoff and a compulsive liar. neither of these things make anyone like him much. he tends to have meltdowns with some frequency, which hasnt done much for his reputation either. his meltdowns are usually overwhelming for the other aerialbots too, so they end up scattering and leaving silverbolt to fix the situation.

many many feelings about fireflight autism bc he gets woobified a lot (i remember poking around the tf plotbunny lj a year or so ago and seeing a bunny from like 2008 abt him "suffering from autism" so hes at least always had That Vibe). hes just very observant. doesnt really have a lot to say! but not really a good listener either because he WILL start thinking abt that interesting rock poking out of the wall or that bird he saw while he was out earlier, and just completely misses whats being said to him. he and skydive are a good mix bc skydive can just talk and talk abt his jet fighter blorbos and fireflight can do fireflight things and theyre both fine with this. also think abt this ⬇️ kind of scenario a lot

hes also most likely to collect Weird Stuff. his whole personal shelf is full of bins of strange twigs or scrap metal or basically anything that catches his interest. hes a bit of a corvid tbh

if fireflight is the guy that everyone assumes is autistic, then air raid is absolutely the guy everyone assumes has adhd. his attention span doesnt exist, unless hes doing something he wants to do. hes the closest thing to an adrenaline junkie the team has. raid doesnt go off on his own the way fireflight does, but the odds of him actually following through on orders and plans are slim. he tends to run into walls and corners and doorways a lot (he and flighty both have spacial awareness issues, but fireflights are more obvious in alt mode, and air raids in bot mode).

silverbolt. has to manage all of them and himself. and its incredibly overwhelming. from the outside hes got the vibe that hes one bad incident away from shutting himself in a broom closet for the rest of the day to get away from it all. hes got a bad habit of getting stuck in his head, and his thoughts tend to doom spiral after awhile. but thats like half the reason the other aerialbots are so annoying at him, and he can uh. appreciate. their methods of getting him away from himself. most of the time. i like putting everyone in a planepile because i think bolt would like the feeling of the others weight on his wings. it makes him feel grounded

this doesnt fit with my planned Disco OCs answers because I can easily say no for them off the top of my head without much thought, but I do think my Cyberpunk man Vance gets some sort of fucked up thrill from drawing blood when fighting with knives in close combat. the smell makes him sick for trauma reasons (best friend died horribly) but he's a vengeful & impulsive adrenaline junkie, ofc he likes getting into risky fights and making his enemies bleed

basic history behind this is he and his mom were abandoned by his father before he was even born, his mom died as a teenager, the uncle who took him in literally only did so as a favor to his sister who'd died and treats him like shit. I think part of him thinks he has to Make Up For Something because people keep leaving and he wonders why HE hasnt been a victim of circumstance yet. why does he have to stay and suffer?? not even to mention Arcelis breaking up with him and Joakim dying for him ...

Eudora, despite being a total goof and trying to get a laugh out of everything, is actually horrible at relationships. Before he died he wasnt good at them and death didnt change that it just made it worse, he grew more apathetic and only considered people his friends if they really proved it to him somehow. Hes not making them prove it its just they can eventually strike some kind of chord in him and hes like oh okay i care about this person more than ususal hes never had a matesprit until his current one, a sleazy ass boy owned by my boyfriend! despite sleeping around and being like that once he satrted developing feelings for Eudora he didnt feel the need to flirt with everyone and get drunk all the time anymoreEudora calmed it down with the adrenaline stunts, because in his words“He makes me feel alive, more than I ever have.”

- ira LOVES pet names !! they make him melt. almost every person in the legion calls him "dear ira" (note that in nv, he insists everyone calls him "vehementi", he doesnt like anyone using his first name). they only started calling him that after he was accepted into the legion. im sure some ppl in the legion even have specialized pet names for him but who knows ! (pet names are also a weird way of keeping him. obedient i guess??? at this point "dear ira" has become/been used as a casual positive conditioning method in the legion for him oof) EDIT: adding on to other side- ira probably isn't one for calling ppl pet names unless they're VERY close- ira calls vulpas "foxi" for example LOL

29. What recurring dreams do they have?

- Ok buckle up, this subject means a lot to me. just last night i had a recurring nightmare and i love giving my oc's self-indulgent sleep issues + dreams JKSNFJ firstly, i imagine that in each dream ira has, he dies in some shape or form by the end

dream 1: vehementi will be standing at the bottom of hoover dam, it seems to be empty at first. he stares up at the top as the water starts gushing down, and at the same time he sees the NCR and the legion at the top of the dam, staring down at him, unmoving. the water keeps gushing- the only difference in these dreams are sometimes ira drowns from the water gushing down immediately, but in some it has the fill up and he drowns from the amount of the water. any way it ends, both the legion & the NCR are staring down at him, watching him die

dream 2: in one of his dreams (its short but repeats over and over back to back) he’s sleeping and caesar will come up to him, flip him onto his back and puts his hands around ira’s throat, suffocating him while repeating “dear sweet emil, my dear sweet emil”. this nightmare ends with vehementi’s death and will repeat multiple times, around 4-5. this one sometimes causes ira to wake up bolted up & gasping... its more of a night terror tbh- hes always convinced hes being suffocated by caesar when he wakes up from the nightmare, even if hes no where near the legion

dream 3: ira will be in an open field, reletively grassy, sitting under a single tree. the sky is grey & cloudy, like theres about to be a storm, but its just very windy and never ends up turning into an actual storm/even rains. theres a person standing in front of him that he doesnt know or recognize (its always the same person each time) saying something to him, but theres no words coming from their mouth/its completely silent. it looks like theyre speaking normally but theyre on mute. ira normally wakes up in a cold sweat from the dream, always forgetting the last part; last thing is the person in the middle of “speaking”

Why You Should Read The 5ds Manga :)

this is actually meant to just be an art archive blog but I feel like talking about this here anyways lets get to it. more spoilery stuff and my opinions under cut. 

It’s only 65 chapters and has been thankfully archived on this reddit post

it’s VERY different from the anime and despite how different the story and characters are it’s really fun to follow along with what we’re given, distinct lack in cyberpunk but there's a lot more emphasis on the aztecs stuff! 

Most of the signer dragons were gained through some sort of inheritance style duel which meant proving yourself to the dragon itself, and also emotionally bonding with it. Which is really neat....

The Godwin brothers have a MUCH more fleshed out reasoning for their actions and what they do just made so much more sense. Genuinely really fun villains, well Roman’s actions are a bit questionable at the start but by the end you kind of forget and just enjoy (er there is a weird bit with roman and his sister...personally i just ignored it... changed the context in my head) 

Yusei is a bit more standoffish in the manga and is a huge adrenaline junkie. He still loves his friends!!! It’s just a bit more downplayed since we meet everyone in like a couple days he doesn’t get a solid bond with anybody but his pseudo brother, Sect. 

Jack just has this sick little evil smile he does all the time he literally never stops looking evil I love manga Jack so much because of this. Also we actually get more backstory on Jack! He shares his backstory with Kiryu and they have a crazy past together. It’s a nice trade off... anime gives us a  more fleshed out backstory on Yusei and Crow’s lives before team 5ds is formed while Jack and Kiryu get more in the manga! 

Crow is really different from his anime counterpart. He hates kids (says so outwardly...but doesn’t really hate them he just sucks at interacting with kids), and is the painfully straight friend in the group. He’s one of the only characters that really interact with Yusei so if you wanted more Crow-Yusei stuff, the manga is for you. 

Aki also changes a lot, she goes to an all girl school, is beloved by the student body and has a posse that follows her around. She has like rivalry tension with this manga-only character and Sherry it is so funny how different she is but her vibes are SO good. She has a Queen title  to parallel Jack’s King title. 

The Twins are evil for reasons for over half the manga but their characterizations are really fun. They have like a fairytale deck and turbo duel together as a cohesive unit. It’s so fucked up because its really unbalanced but their fights are pretty fun! Also Ruka is the callous mature twin and Rua is a crybaby that tries really hard to protect both of them. 

Kiryu completely skips out on his team satisfaction characterization, he has the crash town characterization from when he’s a kid to an adult. I can’t say much because his involvement with Jack really should just be something read for yourself its so good. (or read under cut)

The classism is really downplayed in the manga, people get insulted like twice and that's where it ends. there's still a physical separation, but social boundaries don’t seem to exist between satellite and the city because letting a bunch of people with criminal markers wasn't seen as a big deal in the Fortune Cup (vs people’s reactions to just Yusei being there in the anime Fortune Cup)  

Yusei’s lil brother goes through a whole thing that’s kind of similar to Judai’s Haou possession business. The armor even looks similar lol 

KIRYU HAS SPENT ALMOST A DECADE TRYING TO REACH JACK AND SAVE HIM FROM HIMSELF. Their backstory involves them being lab rat kids who would duel each other constantly to see who would be fitting to inherit Red Dragon Archfiend. Jack leaves via winning and is meant to inherit the card but Kiryu kind of blows up the facility before Jack ever gets it... because he was trying to keep the other lab rat kids safe but they have crazy history or whatever.... their duel was my favorite. 

Crow and Yusei’s dynamic in the manga is genuinely so funny Crow just randomly drops in like “hey hey hey you’re cool, I’m cool, lets be buddies” *punts yusei’s little brother out of the way” and Yusei’s response is, “huh, okay!” 

Sniffling, the Godwin brothers got it so good in the manga like it’s such an interesting take on their story. They’re from like 5000 years ago, and were adopted by this duel priestess who got taken over by an ancient dark god or something. The entire plot is caused by their family feud that was a total misunderstanding and accident where Roman had to kill their sister and Rex thought his brother murdered his sister for no reason and tries to kill HIM but ends up killing his sister as well its a WHOLE thing okay but trust me it’s better than what the anime gave us

imma try to keep this super short n’ brief because knowing me I’ll probably end up changing little details here and there as I develop brandon more. theres a TLDR at the bottom. im a lazy b-tch so i would skip to that first. 

da basics

brandon shapiro is a 29 year old dark witch from ipswich, massachusetts. reigns from a long line of (mostly) dark witches so forgive him for having the ‘im a pureblood’ type attitude. baby boy’s an east coast blue blood. he thrives in making himself high and mighty when he’s got the $$$, the name, and charm to back it up. 

moving onnnn and skipping over his childhood because that’s pretty much irrelevant, when brandon started developing into darker magic more he started obtaining ‘friends’ that would constantly bring him into these sketchy situations. eventually he would consider himself a witch for a hire because that’s pretty much what he was before even knowing about elysium.

he’s spent time in his late teens/ early twenties living in los angeles, new orleans, boston, seattle, and other various places in the states depending on whatever job he had. these were  normally gigs to help break into museums, banks, jewelers, etc. but then there would be jobs deeper into the dark web which brandon and his band of idiot money crazed googlies didn’t think would ever be too ridiculous for them since the more dangerous the job the better the payout. which brandon doesn’t need, it’s moreso the thrill. an adrenaline junkie. 

his last job, before everything went to complete shit, required brandon and his friends to get involved in pulling a spell against a casino table for their buyer to have his pickings win in his favor. this ended up going on for two nights before brandon ( and apparently only brandon ) got caught by the attention of some supernatural mob boss who just so happened to own one of the combo casino/hotels on the vegas strip. 

to compromise, you know to not be murdered for cheating,  brandon agreed to work for these people for free and offer up the names of his old comrades so the mob could have good faith that these terrible, awful, and manipulative people would never come back again. brandon loves his life and will pick it every time. he doesn’t know what happened to his old friends nor does he really care to find out. 

he’s been living in miami for the last two years under the mob doing way risker jobs with very little payback. which has to be karma for giving up his friends but he’s not one to ponder his faults. anywayssss, his official last job ended up getting him arrested due to some unfortunate circumstances. turns out there were people watching brandon ever since he landed in miami. he was being watched, and watched, and watched and they finally caught up to him. and you know what this fool did? gave up information to them about the mob he was working for and where they could find these people if they ever wanted to focus their attention on the real criminals. the agreement ended up with allowing brandon to sort of walk free as long as he does his part in not falling back into the old ways he’s grown stupid to.

originally he was going to move back to massachusetts, but he ended up crossing paths with someone who knew of a place he could work at if he was ever interested. turns out it was a school in new york. and while brandon managed to enjoy life everywhere else, he figured new york would be a piece of cake.

TLDR. homie is a dark witch with a rich family. he got into shady business as he started developing his powers more and that lead him to be caught by a supernatural mob boss and then later eventually people who wanted to take said mob boss down. he took a plea both times he was confronted by these people, offering extange of information for his life, and once that part of his life was over he met someone who worked at elysium and they told him about the school. now he’s here trying to live a normal life.

brandon has been at elysium since september/october-ish. I’m open to all connections but there is a very important one that I need filled and it just has to be the person who met brandon while was in miami and told him about the school. they’d primarily would be the reason why he moved to new york and possibly his first friend around here yada yada. I say eventually beause b’s a little too fresh to getting him caught up so early on not that that stopped him from banging diego in the back of some city bar. and I’ll be doing a plotting call for him eventually. so keep an eye out for that.

To anyone who pays attention to this blog: I’m sorry. I don’t know where to spout my mouth. 

This movie is some hot garbage. 

Visually its awesome. The music is rad. Some performances sprinkled here and there will give a hint of what could have been. 

Where the shit falls apart is the writing. It is the most 8th grader edge lord trash. There are several points in this movie where I straight up almost walked out. I have only walked out of one theater experience in my life and it was amazing spiderman. 

I only really go to theaters when i take my nieces and nephews to marvel movies and star wars movies. But I like space movies and the trailer looked interesting. So I figured “what the hell. its my day off.” 

I felt cheated afterward. My time was wasted. 

Spoilers ahead.

The gist of it is... Brad Pitt is cool as ice astronaut/adrenaline junkie/veteran/telecom repairman. Hes so crazy and badass that his heart rate doesn’t go above 80 or some shit. But this also means hes too much of a distant badass that his wife leaves him because she just doesn’t understand how much of a cool as ice hardcore dude he is. 

Some crazy EM pulses from neptune are fucking up computers and causing all kinds of mass casualties and problems on earth. They are coming from the ANTI-MATTER drive on the ship that Brad Pitt’s hero dad Tommy Lee Jones was commanding to find aliens. Now without any real reason they assume its because TLJ has turned terrorist and wants to attack earth (for some reason). The answer to this is to send BP to mars to send a message to him. The whole time we get the most cringy edge lord internal monologue from Pitt. I swear its like its from someone with little to no life experience. like when an affluent 22 yearold tries to write a heavy metal song about war or some shit. all the while they ham fistedly keep reminding you of how much of a hero TLJ is. people literally keep telling Brad Pitt his dad is a hero. 

I kept telling myself that theres some twist. this was all going to be a simulation from BP’s mind while he was in hyper sleep. that he was in a coma in present day and people are subtly trying to wake him up. i kept looking for hints of a plot twist from a better story that where not there. when i continually did not find them i really wanted to just leave. but the inanity of the writing kept making me think it couldn’t be real. it was all so bad that it had to be fake. 

it wasn’t. turns out, Tommy Lee Jones has space madness and is not the hero everyone thought. Brad Pitt knew his dad was a mean daddy this whole time tho and is the only capable hardcore badass to deal with his even crazier hardcore dad. 

in the end Brad Pitt realizes its not cool to be an edge lord by confronting the end boss edge lord of his distant dad. 

the sad part is the production is so good. the whole thing is : “im the only capable person in the solar system and everyone sucks. humanity sucks. im the only one crazy enough to defeat my even crazier father (who made me crazy in the first place)”.

TLDR

its some edge lord ass edge lord shit masquerading as hard science fiction. i should have walked out and gone home to hang out on discord.

in a word it was.. complicated. they were never close. when they met, julius was just looking for more recruits, the saints needed all the help they could get, but he thought he saw something in that skinny, terrified kid when him and troy saved her from being caught in the middle of a turf war. plus the kid owed him a life debt, and that aint a bad thing to have in his position. but, to violet… sure his speech about taking back the city to “save lives” was nice and all, but its not why she joined. she was homeless, starving, had nowhere to go and no options. she didnt even really have to think about the offer, becoming a saint just made sense. it was a step towards something, even if she didnt know exactly what it was, and so violet showed up in the churchyard the very next morning

from julius’ pov, violet took to fighting like a fish to water. capable, willing to do whatever it took, never talked back or questioned orders, and owed him their loyalty? to be honest she was basically the perfect little soldier. he thought this kid had a serious chance of being one of their key members… and he wasnt wrong. but in truth violet was terrified. when troy took her to buy a gun and had her kill someone for the first time with it, she managed to keep it together until she dropped him off and he was just out of sight. then she vomited all over the passengers seat of the car. the constant terror made it hard for her to sleep at night. a broken nose, bloody bandages over cuts from close calls with stray bullets, too many bruises to count and it didnt take long for her knuckles to become more scars than skin. for a while she was arguably more of a wreck than she was before she joined up

but at the same time, joining up improved things for violet. before this shed been sleeping in an alleyway, but now at night she could sleep in the church, and the other saints were friendly to her. then, when she got her first share of money? she went and bought herself a full meal and almost cried on the spot. soon, after pocketing as much cash as she could from dead rival gangsters wallets, she saved enough to get a loft right in saints row, and it was a shitty one, but she didnt fucking care. she loved that loft. from her point of view, julius was giving her the chance to save her own life. all she had to do in return was kill people for him. and she rationalized it to herself that way. if she had to kill other people to survive, then so be it

….and then violet began to realize how much of an adrenaline junkie she is, and holy fuck did she love to fight. if she had an opportunity to ditch the gun and just go in with a bat or even just her fists, she took it. the rush of risking her life became something she thought was fun. plus the respect she got as a saint? people were afraid of her, and she had anyone wearing purple on her side. the thrill, the power, the money, the loyalty… without her even really realizing it, running with gangs went from a means to an end to something that she enjoyed. but this change happens slowly, over the course of taking over stilwater. in truth, julius’ betrayal was what finally tipped her all the way

julius starts to hate her before they even finish off the vice kings. hed assigned her to helping out gat first, thinking even if dex was overseeing everything, their youngest lieutenant would need someone who could handle it if one of his crazy plans went south. but the trail of carnage and destruction violet and johnny left behind was the exact opposite of what julius wanted. he thought itd be over once the VKs were finished and he could assign violet to working with another (more stable) lieutenant, but after gat had taken that shotgun blast to the knee to help the kid escape and shed gone in alone to save him, the two were practically attached at the hip. the kid would follow gat around like a lost puppy, and the only person johnny spent more time with than violet was his girlfriend. then, once tanya was dead, he overhears a rumor that the supposedly mute kid could not only talk, but she would only speak to johnny or aisha. apparently gat had gone asking around if the kid had spoken to anyone else before him, and thats how everyone found out (gat was slightly offended when he found out violet spoke to aisha first, long before vi made that horrible hepatitis joke to him, and aisha had been keeping it a secret for her)

julius had never liked gat, he didnt care about ending the gang wars and was only there because he was bloodthirsty and lived for violence. and now he and the kid julius was becoming increasingly cautious of were feeding off of each others recklessness. not only were those two a volatile mix, but it seemed like julius was losing control of playa because of it… and that was bad news for him

johnnys sidelined, and banned from helping with any moves against the carnales and rollerz. julius told him it was because of his injury, which they both knew was a bullshit reason; hed been fucking up the vice kings just fine even with his messed up knee. gat did not take it well, and there was a shouting match that violet walked in on. vi was upset of course, her and gat were friends now and she liked running missions with him, but she wasnt going to argue. even if playa didnt understand julius’ decision, she didnt question him, but there was a lot of tension between johnny and julius after that, especially when it seemed like julius was actively trying to keep vi and johnny away from each other. anytime theyd hang out at the church, if julius saw them together you could feel the tension fill up the room, and more often than not hed just send violet out with some bullshit orders. the two quickly learned to hang out away from the church after that

by the time the carnales are history and theyre gunning for the rollerz, julius knows how badly he fucked up. thinking he could start a new gang, and control it? he was naive. theyd taken over almost all of stilwater, but at what cost? how much of the city had they destroyed along the way? and at the center of all that carnage was violet. the more of the city they take over because of her, the more disgusted she makes julius. he needed to stop the saints, stop her, but he has to do it carefully. if anyone realized it, or that he was trying to get playa killed, the gang would turn on him in an instant. the rest of the saints idolize playa, and they all know shes a big part of the reason for their success. if anything happened to julius, the gang would rally around violet, and he knows it

at first he was just sending her into risky situations because of the faith he had in her, but for a while now hed been sending her on straight up suicidal tasks on purpose, hoping someone would finally just take her out before she caused any more harm or became even more of a problem. but she just keeps coming back. doesnt matter if its just her against an entire stronghold of god knows how many seasoned gang members, shell walk out only a little worse for wear. julius starts to wonder just how terrifying this kid is, and all the while violet never even notices that julius is doing this, shes just doing what shes told. hes all praise whenever they speak, trying to keep her placated. troy notices the risks julius always seems to take with violet, but he just thinks julius is putting too much faith in the kid and driving her too hard. he starts trying to look after vi in his own ways to make up for it (thats how they become friends) but he never realizes julius’ true intentions until its far too late

vi and lin are flying solo now, with almost no help from the other lieutenants. julius makes it look like hes putting more faith in violet, no more kid gloves. of course vi and lin get in over their heads like that, and when lin gets killed and vi ends up in the hospital, julius wishes to god that she had just drowned in the river with lin

and then, soon after, its done. the vice kings, the carnales, the rollerz, theyre all a memory. the saints own the whole damn city, or whatevers left of it. and then julius gets arrested, and he finds out troy is a cop, and julius knows its all over…. but troy offers him a deal: get johnny and playa out, and he can walk. he gets the idea right there, to kill violet himself. theres no way shes going to stop, and julius knows it

violet knew driving over to the dock that she was walking into a trap, but if it was to get julius back, it didnt really matter. shed already murdered a major public figure and the chief of police trying to get him back, shooting her way out of another situation almost seemed pretty fuckin mild at that point. so it doesnt surprise her when hughes’ men surround her; no, what does surprise her is the sudden loud beeping, the confused look on hughes face, and something in her gut screaming at her to run. whether it was the wall of henchmen between her and the explosion, or the split second before the bomb went off that she used to rush forward and leap just over the railing that saved her life there, shes never sure. maybe it was both. either way, the burns scarring her back for the rest of her life show she didnt get off scot-free

five years later, and within 24 hours of waking up and breaking out of prison, shes already visited the police station and listened to the tapes. and once shes heard them, violet is seething. she did EVERYTHING for julius, became a murderer, risked her life, followed all his orders without question! and he took five years of her life away! tried to take all of it away! something in her just snaps, and she sets up the meeting with dex that same night

julius thought hed be meeting up with dex, but in truth he isnt surprised to see violet instead; hed been dreading the possibility of this day since he first learned that shed survived the explosion. but even so, even after what he did, it quickly becomes obvious that julius genuinely doesnt believe that violet will follow through with payback. and violet is livid, feels like somebody hollowed her insides out and theres nothing but anger under her skin anymore. despite everything he doesnt know her at all, still thinks shes this loyal little teenager who will do whatever shes told. a dog on a leash, because he never learned that she could be more than that, that she was more than that

and then, hearing him hold himself over her? violet knows who she is and whats she done, shes under no illusions about that. but hearing julius somehow think hes the good guy, that hes morally better than her after everything he did, everything he ordered her to do… it adds a whole new level of hatred. not to even mention how he tries to leverage saving her life over her again, after shed MORE than paid back that debt. thats the last straw, and she kills him. never regrets that choice for a single second for the rest of her life

after that, violets just… angry. shes like that for years. julius took everything good she ever had away from her, and every person she kills is another “fuck you” to his memory. gang member, cop, civilian, she doesnt care anymore. julius wanted to save the city from her? good. shell burn the whole fucking thing down just to spite him

she doesnt get over that for a long time
