So we all know that the Duffer brothers love visual metaphors & details.. well I've been analyzing this photo for a little and I think this scene is about an enlightening and hopefully conversation. As you can see there's a lot of harsh shadows except for the big ray of light shining through the window. Now if for example Mike is talking to Will this could represent the dark past of their relationship but that they still have a lot of hope to grow together instead of apart and that no matter how much they fight the core of their relationship is made of pure love.

I truly adore this photo of Willem Dafoe so much. He just seems so comfortable and relaxed and alos seems very fascinated by what the man's doing with the instrument (if he is doing something with it). Overall, it just seems like a nice calm atmosphere, y'know.
