I imagine it would take a lot of rib bones to construct a whole adult skeleton, so it’ll be a feral, bloodied Eve standing amidst a pile of crumpled Adam’s with their rib bones stolen

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was famously pitched as a subversion of the horror cliche of a young woman walking into an alleyway only to be killed by a monster. What if, the show asked, the young woman turned around and killed the monster? What if she was the thing that monsters have nightmares about?

For the spin-off series Angel -- a "darker" and "more complex" show, as its creators love to describe it -- the writers decided to further subvert the premise. What if, they asked this time, a young woman walked into an alleyway, only to be saved from a monster by a handsome, brooding man? What if the young woman was pregnant? What if the handsome man didn't actually save her, but he felt really bad about her death and brooded extra hard about it for the rest of the episode? (Maybe the monster had lawyers -- everyone hates defense lawyers, right? -- and maybe he could threaten to kill them!) What if the young woman was pregnant? Or what if she was the monster, and so he had to kill her and then feel really bad about it? And what if she was pregnant? Wouldn't that be terrifying? What if there was a young woman and she got pregnant and became monstrous and died, and a stoic brooding man who didn't like to talk about his feelings sat in his office and felt sad about it?

I don’t typically make ocs in already existing media cuz I’m not one to add characters to shows, but oh my god httyd dragons are just so drawable. I’ve had my girl Prosper for about 5 months now and I cannot describe how much I love her? This fictional lesbian reptile has my heart. (And her mate Hark, but I’ll make a separate post for her :) )

She’s 56 years old, had her right wing completely torn off in a massive battle (she’s left wing politically, ahaha get it left wing because she only has her left wing so-) with the parents of Viggo and Ryker Grimborn that sent the night/light furies into hiding. (Which is my personal hc on how there are ‘no night furies left’). She is the leader of this ‘hidden colony’ of furies, and is basically just the wise, lonely grandmother to them all. She’s also just extremely sad in general. She in in constant pain and can’t fly. I mean I’d be sad too.

She’s also like extremely very heavily against humans, so in my delusional little brain when Hiccup and Toothless somehow stumble upon the hidden colony that’s in a cave (think Minecraft lush cave) she isn’t a very big fan of them funnily enough. Although she does hesitate to immediately fire upon noticing Toothless’ prosthetic tailfin, mainly cuz she’s like “yo tf what yo tail red for? Who is this red tailed child?”

I could ramble for hours about her swckjhisuchuweichiew and she ends up getting a prosthetic wing ‼️

To aspiring artists, I'm not sure what 'tips' or advice I can give that were not already said by another. However, I'll remind you anyway.

"There's no secret to art... just begin and keep going. That's all we can do."

Always set your pace, and take your time learning. Art is something that isn't rushed, rather it grows through experience. Think of it like exp points or something, the more you gain, the more you know and skills acquired. It doesn't mean you HAVE to abide by the principles or rules either, though it's best to know them. Knowledge comes in different ways and your method is yours to explore.

As for motivation, it's something you'd find attached to, a mission and values thing per se. Find your dedication, how will you strive, how much are you willing to pursue. What keeps you going? What WILL keep you determined?

We take criticism critically: Don't get your ego attached to every work, everyone has their own perspective. What I mean to say is to understand errors and find improvement. Be HONEST with yourself and your work. Nothing is ever wrong in art, hell- even the most fucked-up ones can look so beautiful and meaningful.

In social media or sharing artworks, it's cool to show them to your friends or relevant platforms your craft would be in, just gotta learn the long process of algorithm somehow... It's a pain, but never lose confidence! Believe in yourself. Even the tiniest of work, effort is counted as special. Because it's from you!

Lastly, enjoy what you do! Have fun once in a while, and best that you find fun all the time in your crafts! You create for a cause and not just to please. Art shouldn't be a cause to break you, rather it builds you.

i love sonic adventure remix, and i love this believe in myself remix especially. it’s such an interesting reimagining! it turns a pop ballad about a kid finding his confidence into a weird industrial techno-rock song about desperately struggling for freedom. “I WANNA FLY”, repeated as if clawing at the walls….

most of the songs in the before talk about putting on a fake smile and fake personality to hide their true mental state:

so i thought it would be cool to make micah a smiley guy! light colored clothes and a more happy personality. but of course, the smiles dont reach his eyes. so i tried makin them look more dull, no shine or nothin, and some tiredness to them.

i also added some references to some of the songs:

- the holes and "usually feels sick" is for pit

- shirt for wings of wax

- "always tired" for every ounce of energy

- deceitful is mostly for a devils trick

(side note, when i say "deceitful" i dont mean in a demonizing way. just want to show that he lies a lot, both to himself and others, about how bad he gets...ya know?)

- anger is for does is sound familiar

- not in the drawing, but during his "good moods" he gets heart pupils for backlit by moonlight

I cried so much when i read page 154 of lotf because of the imagery but i couldnt understand what was so special about it. I now think its because golding makes simon so beautiful and the earth takes his body with such care and gentleness, which was something he never got on the island. What hurt even more was that simon would never be conscious again to see or feel the tenderness that was given to him by the sea.
