#“Henry 1.0 is my favorite character” started as a half joke but. Lucifer makes me uncomfortable and gives me anxiety#Playing this game. Lucifer gives me a very distinct anxiety I have not felt#since I was a kid playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and there were sections of the game where you had to sneak past shopkeepe#s and prefects and i was bad at them and whenever i got caught i got really bad anxiety????? and i wished so bad that i could just not brea#rules BC I DIDNT WANT TO BREAK THE RULES BUT THATS THE ONLY WAY TO PROGRESS THE GAME#and when id get caught id dash behind the couch and cover my head until the cutscene of getting caught and losing was over#so um. Lucifer reignites that very specific anxiety#Also he makes me uncomfy. With everyone else you consistently get the option to tell them to fuck off (even asmo when he pushes boundaries)#but suddenly with lucifer there's 3 romantic options and unavoidable romantic scenes. yawn#i could go on about how much i hate his bitch ass but whatever

Chapter 5
The scent of burnt roses lingered in the air, a stark contrast to the opulent dining room where the King family and the Heathens, had just witnessed Landon’s dramatic act.
Landon, his face a mask of barely controlled rage, had incinerated the bouquet Vaughn had presented him, a declaration of war more than a rejection.
He’d turned on his heel, ignoring the calls of his family, and retreated to his room, the door slamming shut with a resounding thud.
Vaughn, however, remained unruffled, a picture of composure amidst the chaos. A gentle smile played on his lips as he turned to Levi and Astrid, Landon's parents.
"I apologize if my actions were wrong to offend him"
He said, his voice smooth as silk as if apologizing for the scene he knew he caused all under his wish.
"Perhaps if you could point me to his room, I could speak with him privately? There's no need for anyone to be bothered".
The room was silent, everyone still reeling from Landon’s outburst. Even the notoriously composed Heathens seemed taken aback.
But they were also keenly aware of the dangerous game they had been made a part of, with Vaughn standing at its center, dancing dangerously with Landon.
Nikolai, ever the optimist, gave Vaughn a thumbs up while hugging Brandon, Landon's twin and said,
"Maybe you should vi-vi, your 'wifey' seems very angry on you"
He got hit on the arm by Brandon for that while Vaughn gave him a look that told Nikolai to not call Landon that, the yellow mask Heathen however was lost in eyes of his lotus flower.
While Killian, who never took anything seriously until he saw danger, smirked, his arm protectively around Glyndon’s waist and said,
"Yeah, maybe take some dark chocolates because he looks like he is on his periods"
Glyndon gave him a glare for this but he just kissed her cheeks with a smirk that earned him a glare from Levi and a giggle from Astrid.
Annika offered him a small, cautious wave, and Cerighton, her boyfriend, hugged her close, looking sleepy like he always does.
Gareth, ever the diplomat, gave him a knowning nod as he continued his conversation with Landon’s parents to distract them while Jeremy and Eli, Landon’s older cousin, looked like they wanted to be anywhere else.
Even Aiden and Elsa, Landon's uncle and aunt, couldn't hide the looks of warning they sent his way. Each family member conveyed the same unspoken message – 'be careful of what you do' as Eli spoke up, giving Vaughn the direction he needed to know.
"The fourth room on the right to the second floor"
Vaughn nodded at him with a small thanks, gave them all a final, assessing look, a silent promise of his intention to win over, not just Landon, but his entire family, before excusing himself.
He knew he was walking into a storm, but he was never one to shy away from a challenge, no, infact he was that bison who loved to walk right into the storm. He made his way through the expansive house, his footsteps deliberate, until he reached Landon's door.
Without knocking, he pushed it open, stepping inside.
"You Heathens really have no manners do you?"
Landon said, his back to Vaughn, voice laced with sarcasm as he delicately shaped the wings of the morning star he was bringing to life.
Vaughn chuckled, closing the door behind him as his eyes roamed the Landon’s beautiful abode of a room, filled with unnaturally beautiful and meaningful sculptures, each piece a mystery to decode with their unique construction.
"Common Wifey, soon we will be married. There's no need for such formalities between us. No need for barriers, I mean, we're going to be sharing a bed soon"
He however was meet with pure ignorance from Landon who refused to acknowledge his existence, lost in his statue and finding it more worthy of his attention over his fiancee.
His workshop was Landon’s sanctuary, a chaotic symphony of clay dust, metal tools, and the raw, potent energy of creation. But today, it felt suffocating. He was hunched over his current project, a towering sculpture of Lucifer, the fallen angel, his face a mask of intense concentration.
Every line of muscle, every feather on the sculpted wings, was a testament to his meticulous artistry. He ignored the footsteps that echoed on the concrete floor, the presence of another man in his domain.
Vaughn, however, was not easily ignored. He moved with a quiet confidence that belied the storm he carried within him. He paused before Landon's earlier works, the discarded pieces that stood like silent sentinels of their creator's journey.
The first was an angel, weeping, cradling a sword that looked too heavy for its fragile hands. Vaughn reached out, his finger tracing the contours of a sculpted tear. It looked so real, so raw.
"These are incredibly detailed"
Vaughn murmured, his voice a low rumble that cut through the heavy silence.
"What’s your favorite food, Landon?"
Landon’s head snapped up to look at Vaughn, his dark blue eyes narrowed in annoyance as he scoffed and said,
"Why bother making small talk asshole? You probably already know the answer. Isn’t that what you people do? Dig up every scrap of information?"
Vaughn’s lips curved into a slow, predatory smile at Landon’s comment as he spoke up.
"Indeed, I know a great deal about you, Lyubov. All the data available with a little digging, your family history, the art schools you attended before Royal Elite University"
He paused as his hazel eyes shifted to Landon who continued to work on the sculpture as he spoke with an unknown intensity dripping down his tongue.
"But that’s not knowing you, is it? Not knowing you as intimately as I should, considering you're my wifey. I should know everything about you"
He let the word roll off his tongue like a delectable piece of forbidden fruit. Landon bristled at the endearment and the implied ownership.
"Don’t"
He growled, turning back to his sculpture, his hands working the clay with renewed ferocity. He didn't dignify Vaughn's words with an answer.
And Vaughn didn’t press. Instead he surveyed the workshop, his gaze lingering on a half-open box of cherries tucked away in a corner.
His steps took him to the trash can at the end of the room as he pressed the paddle under his leather boots to open the lead and peaked inside, taking note of dried cherry pits along with fresh ones coated with saliva, indicidating that Landon had savored on them not long ago.
They were accompanied by a bunch of cigarette buts and broken sculpturing tools, roughed papers or broken art pieces.
"Let me guess, it's cherries right wifey?"
A genuine smile softened the sharp edges of his features but the knowing look in his eyes were speaking otherwise.
Landon froze. His head whipped around again, his eyes wide with a mixture of surprise and suspicion as he looked at Vaughn looking up at him with a innocent smile, as if he didn't figure out something in few minutes that took even his family almost a year to figure out.
"How did you…..?"
Vaughn chuckled, pointing to the cherry box by Landon’s bedside as he spoke up,
"I can see them. And that reminds me, my own favorite food happens to be beef stew".
Landon blinked, looking between the box and Vaughn before turning back to his sculpture. He could feel Vaughn’s gaze on his back, a tangible weight as he spoke,
"You are one observant fucker, aren't you? And nobody asked"
Vaughn chuckled again at Landon’s comment, a low, rich sound that vibrated in the small space. He moved on, now stopping before the sculpture of a man kneeling, his face hidden in shadowed hands.
"Yes, I am, Very observant"
He began to pace slowly, his eyes cataloging every detail of Landon’s domain, observing it carefully as he casually strolled around and spoke to words that seem to fall deaf to Landon’s ears.
"Infact, I’ve noticed a few things about you, wifey, in the short time I’ve been here. For example, You smoke when you're stressed, I can smell the lingering tobacco clinging to the air even now"
He paused, circling around another sculpture, this one a soaring Pegasus with beautiful detailed wings of a angel and details of each and every strand of fur created on top of it as he continued to speak,
"You love your McLaren more than you love people, you stayed in middle of nowhere bleeding to make sure it won't get stolen"
He paused again as he looked around the room, taking a brief note of each and every single sculpture as he spoke with a calculated analysis,
"You express your emotions through your sculptures, I can tell the pain and rage in it the lucifer you are working on"
His words send a shiver of danger down Landon’s spine who tried to remain indifferent but the more Vaughn spoke, the more the hair behind Landon's neck started to stand up.
Vaughn turned to Landon, his gaze piercing, focused on the bandage on Landon’s head, covering a wound he caused as he spoke,
"You know flower language. You understand the meaning of the Bouquet I gave you, didn’t you?"
Finally, his eyes flicked to a dressing table across the room, where a bottle of perfume sat, its scent subtly permeating the studio and radiating faintly off Landon’s skin.
"And you have a very distinct scent, a mix of petrichor and sandalwood. Probably from that perfume you are using recently"
Landon’s hands stilled on Lucifer’s wings. He felt a chill run down his spine, a stark contrast to the heat that had been building within him from rage. He turned, his eyes wide with a dawning horror of every detail Vaughn was picking.
"How…?"
Vaughn smirked, a flash of something dark and dangerous crossing his innocent face, behind his glasses as he spoke,
"What’s wrong, wifey? Did I discover something you wanted to keep hidden?"
He took a step closer, his presence filling the space as he stood closer to a statue of the demon that Landon had created last week.
The pieces started to clicked into place.
With each observation, each detail unveiled by this terrifyingly perceptive man, the truth began to form a horrifying picture in Landon’s mind.
The meticulous precision of the Bratva Heir, the calculated strategies, the ruthless efficiency…it all pointed to one man.
And now, looking at the smirk on Vaughn's face, Landon saw the pieces of the puzzle fall into their rightful place.
The forced marriage, the sudden accept from the criminal underworld on their company's good, the sudden fall of the King Empire's shares and their disappeared money......…it was all the handiwork of Vaughn, the man standing before him.
The man who called him wifey.
Landon’s breath hitched in his throat. Vaughn Morozov, the charming, observant, eerily attractive man who had claimed him as his fiance, was not just some heir to a mafia empire.
He took a good look of Vaughn, he was clearly less built than the other Heathens thought much taller, showing that physical fight, altist the raw, brutal one aren't his pluse point.
Those glasses worked to accompany his eyes that had detoriated due to heavy focus on studies or technology probably.
He was the architect of his misery, the puppet master behind his forced engagement, the man who had engineered the complete destruction of everything Landon had known.
His heart pounded against his ribs, a frantic bird trapped in a cage. He had been so caught up in his art, so consumed by his grief and anger, that he had failed to see the predator hiding in plain sight, the wolf disguised as a lamb.
The workshop, once his sanctuary, now felt like a cage. Vaughn wasn’t just observing him, he was dissecting him, taking him apart piece by piece.
And the realization that all of this was intentional, calculated to trap him, filled Landon with a cold, gut-wrenching dread.
He wanted to scream, to fight, to lash out, but he was frozen, caught in the web of Vaughn’s carefully constructed game.
He knew, now, that he had been played, and he had been played brilliantly. And the worst part of it all was the horrifying realization of how deeply Vaughn already knew him, far better than his own family did.
How had he fallen for this?
How could he not noticed what is in front of him?
He stared at Vaughn, his mind racing. This wasn't a marriage of convenience; it was a calculated move, a power play.
He was a prize, a trophy, a possession in the hands of a man who saw him not as a person, but as a tool in his grand chess game probably.
Vaughn's smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous light, at this moment, even Jeremy Volkov looked like a less difficult obstacle and Nikolai Sokolov looked less of a trouble compared to this man who was nowhere near their built, but definitely more intelligent than all of the Heathens combined.
"Cat got your tongue, wifey?"
Vaughn asked, his voice a silken purr that sent shivers down Landon's spine as his Hazel eyes observed ever muscle that twitched in Landon's body.
He had only just begun.
Landon knew, with a sinking feeling, that his nightmare was only just beginning.
And he was trapped, completely and utterly trapped, in the web of the man he was supposed to marry.
However, Landon wasn't the one who gave up before putting a fight to death. He will crawl his way out of this mess if he must.
Landon scoffed, finally turning to face Vaughn completely and abandoning his sculpture, fury blazing in his eyes.
"You orchestrated this, didn't you?"
Vaughn raised an eyebrow at him, his amusement evident as he took a step towards landon.
"Orchestrated what, exactly?"
He was met with a annoyed snarl from the living greek god everyone in the Brighton Island flawed over.
"Don't play coy with me, Vaughn Morozov"
Landon snapped, stepping closer with his fists clerged tightly from anger, veins popping from the adrenaline.
"You are the one who stole more than nine billion dollars from my grandfather’s empire. You were behind the Bratva’s seizure of those cargo ships. You hold more than thirty percent of my family's market shares"
Landon’s eyes twitched as venom dripped down his lips that could burn the world down.
"And this…......this marriage? You were the one who proposed it"
He finally stood infront of Vaughn, being slightly shorter than the other so he had to tilt his head up a little to look at the future Pakhan as he accused with hundred percent accuracy.
"You planned all of this"
Vaughn's composure faltered for a split second as Landon spoke those words. He was honestly impressed. Landon had pieced it all together, and so quickly, too, not even his fellow Bratva heirs could do it so quickly.
He allowed a unhinged, predatory smirk to creep onto his face, finally showing Landon the Bratva heir hiding in the mask of a innocent finance as he didn't even deny it.
"You are astute, my little wifey. How did you deduce all that?"
Landon crossed his arms over his chest, his jaw clerged as the sound his teeths gritting inside his mouth was audible in the room, his gaze sharp on his fiancee as he spoke.
"The timing of it all was too perfect. The King empire almost collapsing, the fall starting right after i had first put your psycho doctor on his place, the Bratva swooping in to save us, not with money, but with…....marriage, yeah, like you guys are that kind"
His blood boiled inside his veins at the sheer audacity of this man to not even deny any of this, just standing in his room casually, relaxed and smiling at the volcano of emotions boiling inside Landon.
"It was too convenient. And then there are my siblings and cousins and their…....love for Bratva heirs. I get it now......You did it so that they would all be bound to the stupid mafia heirs they love, and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it"
Landon took a step closer, grabbing Vaughn’s tie and tugging on it harshly to bring the two of them closer as his deep blue eyes pierced into the hazel ones while he asked,
"Right?"
Vaughn let out a low whistle, admiration for Landon's sharp wit completely clear in his eyes as he spoke up,
"You're right, Wifey. You truly are a genius. And yes, I did do it to make sure my bratva brothers and sister got what they wanted – to be with their Kings without you being a thorn in their side"
Landon scrowled, holding back the urge to punch this man squeeze on the face and causing a trouble for his entire family and their empire by angering this fucker's father,
"So, why me?"
Landon asked, his voice taking on a dangerous edge and showing to have no patience to beat around the bush as he spoke up,
"Why did you go to your father, the Pakhan, for this marriage of all things? Why not just let me play the field with Mia?"
Vaughn’s smile turned sly as he shrugged casually and dropped the bomb as if they were talking about weather.
"Niko and Kill didn’t want you dating their precious sister and cousin, so here we are"
Landon rolled his eyes and really held himself back from going downstair and punching those two barbarians who have their hands all over his younger siblings as he spoke up,
"So, it's alright for your Heathens to date mine, but not me? How hypocritical is that?"
Vaughn laughed, the sound rich and genuine but the words contrasted his tone as he spoke up with sarcasm dripping down his lips,
"We’re mafias, we don’t play by the rules. Isn’t that what we do wifey? Dig out all the dirty information and do whatever we want to do?"
Landon’s spoke back, his voice was drenched in sarcasm to shoot it right back at Vaughn as he tsked,
"And that’s it? That's the only reason the future Pakhan wants to marry me? To keep me away from one of the Bratva Princess?"
Vaughn took another step closer, his proximity making Landon's breath hitch. Up so close, he could smell Vaughn’s aftershave still lingering on his skin along with his cologne that smelled heavy of a scent he couldn't pin-point, probably some strong russian perfume.
His eyes met Landon's, and there was a spark there that wasn’t entirely amusement, but something darker, more intense and twisted than anything else Landon has ever seen.
"No, Landon. I don't want you as my other half to keep you away from some bratva princess. I want you."
For the first time since they met, Vaughn said his name and it send a visible shiver down the sculpture's spine. He tried to hide the shudder of his shoulders and but failed as Vaughn seemed to notice it, a smirk tugged in his lips for getting this reaction from Landon.
He placed a hand on Landon’s cheek, his thumb caressing his jawline and smuging some clay sticking to his face across the sharp cut of his face as he spoke up dangerously,
"Landon King, the man who can single-handedly trouble all the Bratva heirs and walk away unscathed. The arsonist who walked past all of Heathens's security and set the mansion on fire. Who kidnapped not one but two Bratva heirs for getting tangled with his siblings and walked unhindered into their den to declare his interest in their princess........I want that Landon by my side. I want you, the chaos, the unpredictable storm, to rule with me, over Bratva one day"
The words were spoken like a vow.
Like a unhinged universal fact.
Like a declaration of of a emperor that can't be denied.
Vaughn, for all his veiled words, spoke these ones with so much rawness that they took away the the air from Landon's lungs.
"I want your chaos to control Bratva one day, Wifey"
Landon stared into Vaughn's eyes, feeling a strange mix of fear, intrigue, and something akin to excitement.
He was left speechless for a second, searching Vaughn's hazelnut coloured eyes for any tint of deception and he found nothing but the naked, confident truth in his words.
Landon was taken back, for having the world reject him for his chaos, it was a first for him who tossled the universe around to have Landon’s chaos.
For people trying to calm Landon’s storm, this was the first time who wanted Landon to unleash the full strength of his strom.
Landon had always been a whirlwind. A beautiful, destructive cyclone of brilliant ideas, impulsive decisions, and a heart that beat so loud it threatened to shatter his ribs.
He’d grown used to the world recoiling, to people wanting him to temper his edges, to quiet the storm that brewed within. He was a masterpiece of chaos, and for most, a masterpiece that needed reining in.
He was taken aback. The world had always sought to tame him, to mold him into something more palatable, more predictable.
Yet here he was, this man who will forcefully hold his hand for the rest of their life, wanting him with every chaotic, fractured piece of his being.
It was a first for him, a universe he had tossed into a frenzy, now embracing him in his rawest form. Vaughn didn’t want the calm after the storm; he wanted the storm itself.
Landon found this situation so fucking unbelievable and so ironic that he couldn't help it, throwing his head back and laughing.
His eyes wrinkling as he laughed till his stomach hurt, clutching on his stomach as the genuine laugh that echoed through the room while Vaughn just stared at him.
When he finally calmed down a little, he looked up at Vaughn, meeting his lion like eyes with his own that held the depth of ocean in them as he smirked, a unhinged devilish smirk that everyone in the Brighton Island feared as he spoke,
"Careful to-be-pakhan, you don't want to open the pandora's box to unleash a plague on humanity now, do you?"
Vaughn however returned his smirk with his own devilish one, stepping closer and leaning near Landon’s face as they held a unbreakable eye contact with their smirks never leaving their lips as he spoke up,
"As a matter of fact wifey, I am really eager to open the box. You see, I am a very curious man and a very selfish one who cares less about the world and more about himself"
Landon stared into Vaughn eyes silently for a brief second, taking note of how his pulips worked before stepped back, turning around to go back to his sculpture.
The smirk however never left his face as he spoke up a challenge very smoothly,
"Then you'll have to win me, future Pakhan, because Landon King belongs to no one."
Landon invited Vaughn on a dangerous dance of manipulation and domination.
And act of annihilation and destruction.
A rhythm of pure chaos with his demons that he ruled.
And Vaughn’s smirk widened, a predatory gleam in his eyes as he stepped on the dance floor where their genius minds will clash and dance together in a fiercity that can burn the world down.
"Game on, wifey"
The tension in the room was thick, a magnetic pull between two powerful forces.
This was no longer a forced union, a calculated move on a chess board - it was a battle of wills, a dangerous dance of desire and ambition.
And Landon, despite his anger, found himself drawn into the game, a willing participant in the chaos that was about to explode. The scent of clay and burnt cigarettes still hung heavy in the air, a reminder of the fire that had just been ignited.

Squad Leader Mom is pregnant!
MASTERLIST
Since all the baby incidents that had happened with you, Levi or the cadets, Levi and you had been thinking about having one of your own, but you never actually talked about it. Then one night, as you were reading before going to bed, Levi sat next to you on the couch ready to have that talk with you.
“Y/N.” Levi called your name seeing that you were not paying any attention to him.
“Hm?”
“I want to have–.” Levi started but then stopped.
“What’s wrong?” you asked worried, putting down your book.
“Remember when the kids were turned into children? We said that we would talk about having a kid. I want to talk about it now.” he told you staring at you. “If you want.” Levi quickly added.
“Oh right.” you said mumbled.
To be honest, since you joined the survey corps – having a baby never was an option for you. For Levi, having a child at all was never an option, but since he met you, he felt like anything could be possible.
“If you don’t want to, it’s fine too.” Levi said.
“I don’t know.” you admitted. “I loved having the cadets around. It was a lot of fun and I loved them as kids. But a new-born is different.” you paused. “I remember my neighbour; they had one and it was constantly crying and screaming. It looked exhausting. Also, what about my job here? I cannot– I… I can’t go on expeditions knowing that our child could become an orphan.”
“I would never let that happen.” Levi assured you, taking your hands. “I know our situation is not ideal, but can you imagine how great it would be to have a tiny version of us running around. I like that thought. That maybe one day, we could finally retire with our own little family.”
“It does sound nice.” you smiled fondly at Levi. “If that makes you happy, then ok.”
“Really? Because I don’t want to pressure you.”
“I’m sure. We’ll figure it out.”
The more you thought about it, the more you were sure about your decision. You had the possibility to give Levi another chance at having his own family and that was what made you certain of your choice. The next few months were spent in bed with Levi. It was intense – Levi was intense which resulted in making the both of you exhausted for trainings and expeditions.
Eight months into trying to get pregnant, yet there was still no baby in sight. Your doctor reassured you and said that getting pregnant is not an easy task.
You get easily sick during winter, so when a week before the expedition you started to feel nauseous, you just shrug it off. Which you instantly regretted the second you felt like passing out in front of a titan outside.
Eren from far away saw you falling from the sky and did not hesitate a second before transforming and running toward you. He caught you in time from hitting the ground and Mikasa from behind killed the titan that was ready to eat you.
“Mom?” Eren tried to wake you up once Mikasa got him out. “Mom, wake up please.” Eren cried.
Every squad were running toward where Eren transformed, not knowing why he did it. Levi and his squad were the first one who arrived.
“Eren!” Levi yelled at the boy but stopped when he saw you in his arms. A million questions were running through Levi’s mind. He could not move – he wanted to see if you were fine, yet his feet would not move toward you. What if he saw a wound, what if you were already dead?
“Captain,” Eren cried, “I– I saw her falling and I came. She’s not waking up!”
“What’s happening here?” Erwin finally arrived. “Levi wha–.” he asked the captain but stopped when he saw you. “Is she d–?”
“NO!” Eren yelled. “She can’t be, I– I caught her.”
“What happened then?” Erwin asked a member of you squad.
“We don’t know. We spotted a few titans, and we were all going to take care of them. Then – squad leader Y/N was just behind us!”
“She is still breathing.” Erwin checked your pulse. “Levi’s going to take her back, and the rest of us will continue the expedition. You can go too.” Erwin told the cadets.
Every other squads were leaving the scene. Erwin slowly approached Levi.
“She’s ok, you can go and take her back.”
“Ok.” Levi breathed.
Levi slowly approached where the cadets where and took you in his arms. Once you were back, Levi rushed you to the infirmary. The cadets were all patiently waiting outside the room. Every one of them was worried, but Eren was even more.
“What if it’s my fault?” Eren said.
“You saved her!” Mikasa protested.
“When I caught her, maybe I squeezed her without noticing?”
“She is fine.” Jean shouted.
Levi was sitting with them, silently. After just a few minutes of waiting, a doctor came out of the room. Everyone stood up hoping for good news.
“Y/N is doing great. She just needs to rest now.”
“Thank you!” Sasha shouted hugging the doctor.
“Is she waking up soon?” Jean asked.
“She should be up in a few hours top. But from now on she should stay here as the pregnancy is already three months in or something.” the doctor said before leaving for his office.
“The pregnancy?” Levi repeated confused.
“Mom’s pregnant?” Jean asked Levi.
“Mom’s pregnant!” they all shouted excited.
“We’re going to have a little brother or sister!” Connie burst excited.
While the cadets were shouting, Levi was still trying to process the news.
“D– Captain!” Jean quickly corrected himself. “Can we go in and see her?”
“She’s still sleeping, I’ll go and find you once she woke up.” Levi said entering the room alone.
Levi was sitting next to you, waiting patiently for you to wake up. An hour or two later, the cadets could not wait any longer and came into your room.
“Please, can we stay?” Sasha begged the captain.
“Fine, but shup your months.”
A few minutes after the kids came in, you finally woke up. Levi was the first to notice it. He quickly stood up and came near you.
“Y/N, are you feeling ok?” Levi asked.
“Water.” you grunted.
“I’ll get you a glass of water!” Armin volunteered.
After drinking the whole glass, you instantly felt better. You asked Levi what happened and when he explained to you that you fainted due to the pregnancy, you started to cry.
“Don’t cry. It is good right? We’re happy about this.” Levi asked.
“It’s happy tears.” You confirmed laughing slightly.
Levi then left to bring some food. The second Levi left, Eren came and hugged you. Then very quickly everyone else joined the hug.
“You scared us to death earlier.” Eren told you.
“I’m sorry I made you worried.”
When Erwin came back, Levi and you were waiting for him in his office.
“Y/N’s pregnant.” Levi announced it to the commander. “Obviously, she won’t be going to the next expeditions, right?”
“What? Congratulation!” Erwin shouted happily. “That’s really great news.”
“Erwin – the expeditions.”
“Right, of course. Y/N, you have to rest from now on.”
“But I can’t do nothing.” you protested. “I’ll get bored.”
“You’re pregnant.” Levi argued. “You just have to take care of you by staying here. Erwin agrees with me.”
“I–. Y/N if you want to go home and rest, you can.” Erwin agreed.
“I don’t. I’ll stay here and work with you on paperwork, I’ll do everything as usual except going on expedition.” you stated firmly.
Levi knew how stubborn you were, so he did not continue to argue. What mattered to him was that you were not going on expedition. After announcing the news to Erwin, Levi and you went to see Hange to tell them the news. The scream Hange uttered was so loud that Moblit came in running.
“What happened?” Moblit asked worried.
“Y/N is pregnant!” Hange shouted.
“Oh! Congratulation!” Moblit hugged you.
The next person to know about it was Mike, then soon enough the entire survey corps knew about it. After a few days, you decided it was time to go and tell your family about it. You proposed to Levi to come with you since he never met them.
“I’m busy.” Levi told you.
“It’ll just be a day.”
Your parents used to live inside of wall rose, but as your father’s business became more and more successful, they moved inside of wall Sina. You had a brother in the military too. You joined at the same time – he was a year older than you – he ended up being first and chose the military police brigade.
The next morning, you and Levi took a carriage to your home. Your parents made you and your brother promise to visit at least once a month, and you both decided to visit the first Sunday of every month – which was today. You knocked on the door and it was your mother who opened the door.
“It has been so long. Ah, and you must be Levi, right?” your mother welcomed you in.
“Yes.” Levi answered.
“Come in.”
“Your brother is not there yet.” your mom told you. “Do you want to drink something?”
“Tea please, black tea. For the both of us.” you told her.
“I feel uncomfortable here.” Levi whispered once your mother was gone.
“Let’s just tell them the news and then we can go.” you reassured him.
Your mother brought back the tea and she sat on the couch in front of where you were. Your father was nowhere to be seen – he was buying groceries at the market – and your brother was probably still sleeping.
“I heard a lot about you Levi.” you mother finally said.
“Levi’s very popular.” you answered seeing that Levi did not know what to say. “He is humanity’s strongest after all.”
“Good, then I know my daughter is safe beside you.”
“Y/N is strong, and she doesn’t need me to protect her.” Levi insisted, “But that does not mean I won’t do anything in my power to protect her of course.”
“That’s good to hear.” your mother smiled gently.
Just when you wanted to continue to talk, the front door opened, and your brother and father came in. You brother hugged you, then went to hug your mother.
“Captain Levi!” your brother burst out. “You have been going out with captain Levi this whole time?” he asked you.
“Yeah, don’t be jealous.”
“It’s an honour to meet you.” (Y/B/N) told the captain, ignoring you.
Levi quickly started to relax around your family, and you were all chatting together, talking about the military and what your day looked like. After a few hours of discussion, you still did not find the right moment to tell them about your pregnancy.
“When are you going to tell them?” Levi whispered to you.
“I don’t know how to, it feels weird.”
“Do you want me to tell them?”
“No, I’ll do it. I can do this.” you cleared your throat loudly to bring their attention to you and stood up. “I came with Levi today because we had something to tell you.”
“Yes?” your mother smiled.
“I am pregnant.” you announced with a big smile.
“Oh, my dear, that is wonderful!” your mother cried happily.
Your family congratulated the two of you and asked a ton of questions about when it happened, and what you planned to do once the baby arrived. After telling them that you were planning on staying at the survey corps after the baby came. You would probably be less involved, but you could not leave your second family. At night, after taking the extra food your mother had prepared, you left.
“Why aren’t you guys sleeping?” you said seeing the cadets at the entrance.
“We were waiting for you.” Armin said.
“Is that food for us?” Sasha asked excited.
“No.” Levi answered. “Y/N is tired, so leave.”
“I’m fine, I’ll take the food to the kitchen and we can eat this together tomorrow.” you told them. “You didn’t have to wait for me, you won’t be able to wake up tomorrow.” you warned them leaving with Levi.
—————
The first few weeks of the pregnancy were going well – you worked in the office with Levi mostly, but you would also help Hange with their paperwork. Being pregnant as a survey corps soldier meant being able to have extra food during meals, being able to skip cleaning duties. You could sleep in late in the morning and no one would say anything to you.
When your baby bump started to show and you could not fit into your pants anywhere, you would go around in either dresses or in Erwin’s pants that you cut so it would not be too long.
When you were seven months pregnant, Levi started to become more and more protective of you. He would not let you carry anything, not even your food tray. He forbad the cadets to come even near you knowing how reckless they were. Only Mikasa and Armin were allowed to come and help you. Which obviously upset the other cadets.
“But dad that’s so unfair! I want to help mom too!” Jean pleaded.
“Fine, Jean you can help.” Levi finally accepted only because Jean called him dad which was one of Levi’s weak spot.
“Me too then!” the others shouted which only made Levi walk away.
When you heard about it, you reassured them that it was ok for them to stay around you. Around that time, you also stopped wearing your shoes since you could not put them on, on your own. You walked around in your slippers all the time.
Nine months into the pregnancy and Levi never let you out of his sight. He would rest in bed with you the whole time.
“What do you want to name our baby?” you asked him one night.
“I don’t know. I didn’t think about it much.”
“I was thinking about naming her after your mother if it was a girl.”
“What?” Levi asked.
“If you don’t want to it’s fine too!” you quickly shrug it off. “It’s just–.”
“I’d like that. It’s a great idea.” Levi cut you, “I just thought… I didn’t think you would like that name.”
“Of course, I do! What if it’s a boy?”
You both brainstormed all the ideas you had before falling asleep.
You were outside with Levi during his training sessions with the cadets with a book. They were all taking a break, so you decided to join them, but when you stood up you felt something weird between your legs.
“Captain! Mom just peed herself!” Eren yelled panicking.
“Her water broke you idiot!” Sasha yelled at Eren.
Levi was definitely panicking like Eren, but he would not show it. You took a carriage with Levi direction your doctor’s house. After a few hours of labour, the baby was still inside of you.
“I can’t do that anymore.” you breathed heavily. “Just take it out!” you yelled, taking Levi hand in yours.
“It’s here, just push one last time.”
You let out a last scream and pushed as hard as you could before you heard cries.
The doctor cleaned then wrapped the baby in a blanket before giving it to Levi.
“Hello.” Levi whispered to his child.
“Is it a girl?” you asked weakly.
“It is.” Levi said looking into your eyes lovingly.
“That’s good.” you smiled when you heard a knock on the door.
“Hello.” Erwin came in with Hange and the cadets behind him. “They insisted on coming with us.”
“We bought you some flowers.” Connie handed you the bouquet.
“My favourite, thank you so much.” you teared up.
“You idiot you made her cry.” Sasha hit Connie behind the head.
“Mikasa’s the one you picked the flowers.” Connie defended himself.
“I love the flowers you guys. I’m just very tired and extra emotional.”
“Do we have a baby brother or sister?” Armin asked.
“You have a sister now.” Levi answered. “This is Kuchel.”
“Can I hold her?” Erwin asked.
“Well,” you started, “you are the godfather, of course you can.”
“Me too.” Hange exclaimed.
“You, maybe later.” Levi stated. “In a year or two, so when you drop her, she would be fine.”
“It happened once when you taught us how to hold babies.” Hange mumbled.
They were all around the new-born while Levi was laying down next to you, your head resting on his shoulder.
“You have the best mother in the world Kuchel, you’re so lucky.” Armin whispered to the baby.
—————
One night, at the boys’ dorm, a few months after Kuchel was born–
“Do you think it’s weird for us to call squad leader Y/N ‘mom’?” Eren asked. “Now that she has her own, real kid, what does that make us?” Eren continued. “We’re just a bunch of cadets again to her.”
“Why are you always thinking so negatively?” Jean sighed.
“They’re not our parents.” Eren stated sadly.
“Can you stop being so pessimistic for a minute?” Armin shouted. “She is the closest mother figure I had since I was a child, so stop this. Plus, it’s not like ever corrects us when we do. So just stop, please.”
You obviously noticed Eren’s attitude changing towards you – you tried to talk to him, but he kept avoiding you. You asked Armin and Mikasa about it and Armin just told you not to worry about it which was not possible.
One night, as Eren was taking a walk on the training grounds, you approached him silently.
“Are you ready to talk now?” you asked him. “And don’t even think about leaving before telling me.”
“I’m fine.” Eren said avoiding your gaze.
“Eren.”
“Squad leader Y/N.”
“Since when do you call me that?” you retorted.
“It is your name.”
“If there is something wrong, you can tell me. I’m always here if you want to talk.”
“You have a kid now; you can’t worry about me– about us.”
“What?” you asked confused. “Why not?”
“Because!” Eren yelled.
“Because what?” you kept your voice calm and low.
“Because you’re not my mother! And I’m not your kid. We’re just a bunch of soldiers.” Eren cried out. “You have a real kid now, there’s no need to play family anymore.”
“Is that what you think? Is that what you all think?” you asked but Eren did not answer, “Eren… I may not be your birth mother and I would never dare to replace yours, but you are family to me. You all are. Seeing you all calling me ‘mom’ is fine, if you see me as a mother figure – it’s fine. Because I see you all as my grown-up children.” you teared up. “And that’s not going to change with Kuchel around.”
“You haven’t been spending as much time with us as you used too.” Eren guessed hesitating.
“I haven’t been sleeping much to be honest. Kuchel is crying a lot at night. That does not mean I forgot about you. Or you guys.” you turned around finding the rest of the cadets hiding behind the pillars.
“We weren’t spying!” Jean said. “We just… happen to be there.”
“I’m sorry.” Eren apologise. “I’m a terr–.”
“You’re not. You’re amazing Eren.” you hugged him which resulted in all the other boys joining the hug.
From the window of Levi office, he could see you guys hugging.
“See Kuchel,” Levi pointed at you while holding his daughter, “They are weirdos.” he sighed. “Your mother loves them though. I find them tolerable. I guess you can see them as your older brothers and sisters. You’ll grow up with a big family which is great. I’m sure you’ll love them as much as your mother do.”

RANDOM FACTS ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY
Levi would talk to your baby bump when you were asleep.
You would be often seen with vegetables in your hand – always eating them as snacks.
You would cry for absolutely no reason too. The first time it happened, Levi was worried sick. You had dropped your apple on the ground and started to cry. From then on, Levi would just hold you tightly until you stopped crying.
The first time it happened in from of Erwin was when he offered you a new baby blanket. He thought you did not like it, but Levi quickly reassured him that it was fine. “I– I– I looove it!” you sobbed.
The first time it happened in front of the trio – Armin, Eren and Mikasa – it was because Armin kept talking about what he read about baby stuff.
“I will be the best brother ever!” Armin promised with a big smile. “No, why are you crying?”
“This is too much for my heart!” you sobbed. “You are too sweet Armin!” you hugged him.
“I’ll be a good big brother too!” Eren said hugging you.
Mikasa from behind pushed Eren and Armin aside before taking you in her arms.
“You both made her cry, I did not. Obviously, I’m the better sibling here.”
When it happened with Connie, Sasha, and Jean –
Sasha and Connie were walking in front of you and Jean.
“This Sunday is a day off; I’ll probably go and buy something at the market with Connie and Sasha.” Jean told you, “Do you need anything?”
You tried not to let tears fall but it was too adorable for you.
“Mom! Why are you crying? I’m sorry!” Jean panicked.
“What did you do you idiot!” Connie slapped Jean on his shoulder.
“Mom don’t cry, please. Dad’s going to kill me when he’s going to find out.” Jean realised.
At the same time, Levi walked in.
“What’s going on?” Levi asked.
“Nothing!” Jean said hiding your face on his chest.
“Y/N?” Levi said. “Are you ok?” to which you only responded with a thumb up. “Are you crying again?”
“I didn’t do it on purpose!” Jean hesitated, “I’m sorry…”
“It’s fine.” Levi said, “she’s been crying a lot these days due to the pregnancy.”
—————
RANDOM FACTS ABOUT KUCHEL
Kuchel first word is ‘clean’ – Levi is always talking about it when he is around her.
Kuchel favourite cadet would be Sasha. Sasha is only sharing her food with Kuchel and she loves food too.
Kuchel loves playing ‘to fly’ with uncle Erwin and uncle Mike – the giants of the survey corps.
You bought matching outfits for Levi, Kuchel and you which Levi secretly found adorable.

Levi was working.
Again.
His gaze was fixed on the documents he had in front of him, his fingertips passing pages quick, searching something. He cursed on low voice, searching some more papers around, when you entered his office. You had a glass of water with you, and a couple pieces of fruit. He has been there working for a long time now.
"Levi." you whisper. You don't know if he didn't hear you or if he is ignoring you, but knowing Levi's caring personality, he's probably so centered on the documents he hasn't heard you. You leave the glass and the fruit plate in the little table he has near his desk, before going next to him. His eyes look at you quietly on a side-look, but he keeps analyzing all those documents.
"Shouldn't you rest a bit?" you ask. He sighs but keeps looking at the documents. "You've been here all day, Levi..." your tone is now more concerned. But he coldly turns around, his chair making unpleasant noises. His grey eyes meet yours, coldly.
"I don't need to rest." he says.
"You're human. You need to."
"I don't need to." his voice is now higher. "Please, leave."
You know his words are full of tiredness and work problems probably. But, having problems with work isn't a problem with you.
"Levi, you..."
"Just get the fuck out and stop disturbing." he says. His words, followed by his cold and sharp grey gaze, made your eyes teary. You left the studio, even when you heard his tired voice calling you on a whisper. You closed the door and closed yourself on your room. Levi is static on his chair, his body half turned, as if he is still talking to you. Then, he puts both arms on the desk, his hands supporting his head. He feels how his vision gets blurred and a couple tears fall on the documents. "What have I done." he says for himself. He hurted you. He knows he did. He wasn't at his best moment and he payed it with you. It was bad, he made things wrong. He knows it. He's about to get up and talk to you when he hears the main door. He stands up quickly and looks to the corridor. No one. Then, your bedroom. On your shared bed is a little note. He takes it, fearing the worst.
"I'll be at Hange's to not disturb you. Coming back for dinner." Damn. He curses, he's so angry with himself for hurting you. For hurting the most important person he has. He knew you'll be back for dinner, so he tried to calm himself during that time he had left, wiping his tears and relaxing his breath. It was darker outside when he listened the main door again.
Bold of him to assume you were going to check on him after what he said. He listened your quick steps towards the living. He needed to apologize now. He left his studio and searched you. You were on the living room. Your hands on both sides of your body and your head looking a picture of you two on a shelf. His hand tried to reach yours, but you moved nervously to the bedroom. His fingers felt how yours left, leaving him with a huge abism inside. He followed you quietly to the room. You were now next to the bed.
"Sorry." his voice was the only sound between the four walls. "I hurt you and I'm so sorry, baby." he says. His gaze is searching yours. He doesn't know if it is correct to reach you, but he does it, extremely cautious with his movements. His hand takes your chin softly, making tou look at him.
Just the sight of your beautiful eyes dropping tears makes his heart break into a million pieces. Your breath is irregular and you see his face blurred because of tears. His hand moves to your cheek, caressing it quietly. "I felt so bad, baby. I'm so sorry. You know I'm so bad at it. I'm not trying to excuse what I said to you or trying to convince you it didn't hurt that much, because I understand I really hurt you. I'm sorry." His voice started to be unstable because of his little crying sounds. "I failed you. Even when i promised to protect you from anything that could be hurtful. I-..." He was destroyed. The way he let his head fall on your shoulder, how his breath started to be irregular and his tears where watering your t-shirt. "You didn't deserve me to treat you like that. I was stressed because of work, and I couldn't manage my feelings."
"I was also getting kinda repetitive with..." he raises his head to look into your eyes.
"No. I don't care if you told me to sleep one, five or a hundred times. I'll be thankful all of them. Because I understand you just wanted me to relax, you knew tiredness will only be bad for me. And it also ended being bad for you, sorry." His hand keeps caressing your cheek while yours are stuck on his waist. "I love you. I love you so much and I care for you more than even for myself. I didn't mean to say that. Sorry." You start to cry again. His grey eyes looked at yours, full of regrets, and holding you closer to him, he lets his lips meet the top of your head. His hands move up and down your back. "When I'm with you I feel like home, wherever we are. It's strange because I've never felt like that. To return to someone with such a hurry. To want so bad to hug and treasure someone as I do with you." his words were his honest feelings. He usually doesn't speak about his feelings, how he feels towards you. You keep hearing him, his heartbeat going faster under your cheek. "I love you more than words can reach, and I didn't know those words I said would hurt you that much. I'm sorry, baby."
"No problem" you say, quietly. His hands stop massaging your back to pull you far from his chest. He looks at you, his intense eyes fixed on yours, searching a feeling of pain. You smile quietly at him, your hands covering his in a sweet caress.
"But I did hurt you." He says. You nod.
"You did, but you're being honest. Also, I understand you were tired and stressed."
"That's not an excuse to treat you like that."
"It was an unlucky mess of things." you let out a little laugh. He does the same. "Levi." you call him. His eyes look at you directly again. "I love you. So much. And I care for you a lot. So you should take a nap before keep working."
"You're okay?" he asks. You nod. "Sure?"
"Sure, Levi."
"I promise you I'll be better, I'll manage my feelings better. I'll never hurt you again." his grey irises were still regretting all he said, all the time he kept thinking about you. You smile at him. He always, always, keeps his promises. You reach his lips with yours, as if you were trying to say him that you trust him and you know he'll be better. You part for air, his handsome face between your hands now.
"Failing is not a sin." you say, on a whisper. The scene is so intimate, an empty bedroom with the moonlight being the only source of light; your bodies together, tangled as if they were one; and the only sound of the wind blowing outside. He nods.
"But I'll never forgive myself for making you feel bad."
"It's okay, love. You apologized. It's fine. Now, should we sit here and rest a little? I'm tired. I helped Hange all afternoon." Levi nods and opens your side of the bed for you, before entering in his. His hands are warm on your waist and his body is against yours. You turn around to face him, thinking he has his eyes closed on a trial to sleep. His gaze finds yours. "Aren't you sleeping?" you whisper. He negates. You lean closer to him. His lips are calling you, you're so tempted to kiss him after all the afternoon apart.
Luckily, he thinks the same.
Your body melts against his when he kiss you slowly, a perfect compass for you two. He's telling you how much he loves you, how bad he needs you and how afraid he is to lose you because of his words. You kiss him back, telling him you're still there.
With him.

part one | part two
↞ back to attack on titan masterlist
The shock and horror stayed on the Marleyans faces, the sound of Eren chewing Lord Tybur up as if he meant nothing and then there were you two. Jean gave a nod as you both parted, his hand being the last thing you felt on your own, a sign of the love you both held for one another. The way they all ran away in fear as Eren marched towards the Marleyan soldiers, he had murdered so many people in an instant. But you knew worst of all you were about to do the same thing to them all.
It all became a flash of thought, the way the war hammer titan’s bright yellow light rose up from the sky, you had begun flying closer to where the real action was. Leading a squad to easily infiltrate and kill the Marleyans, but even with these people by your side a sense of duty settled within you.
Soaring through the air past the buildings and rubble until you finally saw the scene first hand, the white war hammer already hurting Eren and the signs of canons hitting him. You knew what was to come just as the War Hammer titan began thinking she had won, the one indestructible force arrived. Mikasa swung with ease as you watched in the air, shooting and using the thunder spears, you shot up from the air with your own squad. The way you all at ease began using the spears to kill the soldiers with such ease.
“Good work guys.” You muttered slowly through the flames, moving closer onto where the canons were. You notice Jean a small smirk seeing you finally fighting after these past couple of months. He shot at the men who hadn’t been harmed, watching as you did the same. It began easier to swing with actual buildings and rubble, shooting at those who were fighting back, the fires and explosions that occurred bringing a sense of relief that you weren't the ones being murdered.
You and Jean swung through the air, seeing as he grabbed a man to get up to the roof. “Grab my hand.” He whispers as you easily get swung over onto the roof. Both you and Jean leave heavy breathes at all the blood on your hands. “Those morons.”
You both had seen the flash of another explosion, Jean more pissed off that normal, “Jean.” It was only a mere whisper, but he was pissed at Floch’s shooting.
“Hey! You gonna burn the whole zone down?!” What part of keeping civilian casualties to a minimum don’t you get, Floch?” You easily chased after the brunette, who began shouting at Floch as usual.
Floch turned to meet you both, staring at the scene in front of you of fires and explosions. You didn’t care for his words, but you saw as he began shaking his hands violently. You moved away from the two of them wanting to see the action and if any Marleyan soldiers were near to kill. Floch continued rambling onto Jean as you the cold hard truth had been brought to light. This was a battle to kill, the only ones you needed being Eren and his brother, revenge was the main cause of this all. Your people’s revenge.
“Y/n.” Jean softly whispers as you watch the fire, the men around you dead as you both begin waiting for the rest of the squads to meet here. You could already see the beacons of lights appear throughout the city, knowing the plan seemed to be working.
You turn to face Jean, even with blood across your fingers and clothes, he still looked at you as if you were the prettiest woman he had ever met. “I did promise a date if we got out of this right?” He touches your cheek softly, fire blazing across the ruined zone.
“You did but remember what I’ve said many times.” You paused as you urged him to think.
“This isn’t a date Jean, we’re undercover.” He mocked giving a sign as you playfully pushed his arm.
You see a Marleyan soldier in the distance, gun up ready to shoot you down. “Yeah, I do say that a lot, but move.” You shouted the last part, Jean in an instant moved to the other side finally seeing what you saw as you quickly shot the man down with the gun that had been at your side.
“Look at you saving me.” He mutters softly, if you haven't seen the man, they’d have gotten shot, he knew he’d have to keep protecting you but even then, he knew you could handle those idiot Marleyans yourself.
You both saw Connie and Sasha in an instant, Connie the first to say, “Jean, Y/n, we stalled the reinforcements.”
Jean went to the ground checking on the thunder spears as he turned to face them both, “and the lights?” You questioned.
“They’re all-in place.” Sasha spoke.
“Are things going well?” Connie questioned as both you and Jean looked at each other hesitantly.
“For the time being.” Jean almost whispers out as you turn to face the two of them properly. You all see Mikasa sore through the air as Jean continued, “as long as we take that thing out in time. But who knows? Anything can happen at this point. What’s to come when this battle is over? For us to know, we have to survive.”
The feeling that the last part had been directed at you felt unsettling, you would survive. You had to survive and be with Jean if that was the last thing you ever did. Mikasa shot the War Hammer Titan in the eye as you went to grab some thunder spears yourself, it felt like everything had easily worked in your favour with minimum casualties. Another flash of yellow leading to Eren’s Attack titan being seen with the hard form of one of the Tybur’s ready to be eaten.
“Come on Eren.” You softly whispered looking at the scene at hand, the way Eren was just about to eat it when the Jaw titan came out of nowhere. It seemed like you had spoken to soon, the four of you in shock as the Jaw titan bit into Eren’s neck until the blades hitting the enemy titan was heard from humanities greatest solider with murder on his mind.
The sound of guns shooting through the air made you startle until both you and Jean swung through the air. Ready to shoot at the Cart titan, Jean moved through the air, but it seemed the guns had become too much as both of you landed in a building. “Y/n.” Jean shouted bringing you behind a table as you heard the gunshots occur, he held his body around you as you cowered into him before it stopped. “I’ve got you.”
Instead the whole building rumbling at the sight of another titan coming, both you and Jean looked out through the broken window seeing it, “the Beast Titan.” Both you and Jean flew out from the building seeing the two other men follow in suit, before those around you got killed as well. “Jean, we have to stop them both.”
“I know.” He mutters before flying into a building with you beside him, the sounds of rubble falling from the broken-down rocks that the Beast Titan had thrown at you all. “Y/n, you okay?”
“I’m fine.” You mutter from the ground, the sign of a much brighter light occurred, and you knew exactly who it was, Armin had transformed destroying the ships. Swinging through the air as Levi quickly dropped the Beast Titan in a matter of seconds. Distracting the Cart’s titans weapons seemed easy enough but with the mass amounts of weapons you couldn’t tell and that’s what allowed Sasha to easily shoot one of the men down. The Cart titan began moving towards Sasha, Jean in an instant appearing putting a spear right in the eye as you and the men watched before the command was heard.
“Now! Fire!” It was all you all needed to shoot down the Cart titan in a matter of seconds, fire blazing as you had won against the titan. Flying away from the scene with ease with the other members of the Survey Corps, you stood on the roof watching the men shoot upwards towards you Jean and the rest of the group. The sight of the airship surrounding the air brought a relief to you, you could finally go home, leave Marley with a victory.
“It's here.” Connie spoke just as you flew onto the roof where the rest of the guys were.
“Yeah. Right on time.” You bent down to meet Jean, a hand on his shoulder as he gave a soft sign knowing that you were safe.
A victory had been won, the gain of the War Hammer titan and Eren’s defeat of Reiner’s titan seemed to come with no cost to your friends. “I’ve run out of gas.” You whisper to Jean.
“Grab onto me.” He holds your waist as you put your arm around his neck, both ready to finally go home. He grabs onto the ship, your body still on his own as he shouts, “protect the airship from the enemy below.”
You couldn’t do a lot in this state, but victory had occurred, and you could finally go home. Being helped up by Connie and Sasha you could finally feel safe, before helping Jean up himself. Both lying beside each other with a heavy breath, Jean finally spoke, “who’s here?”
“We’re still waiting for Squad Lima in the front.” Connie speaks watching how Jean's hand had moved to your own as the two came closer to you both.
Sasha spoke of the death toll, before the excitement of Floch and the rest of the corps occurred over a successful victory. Jean whispered some words that were barely audible and that’s when he felt it, your arms wrapped around him, he kissed the side of your head allowing his arms to wrap around you as well. Connie brought Sasha along with him to elope himself onto the two of you, it felt just as it had in your first years as a Cadet. One happy family was brought together again.
It brought a smile to your face, but with Jean there always seemed to be a problem, “that hurts, idiot. Don’t hug people with that lump of iron on.” He watched you all leave his side, but his arms almost missed your touch.
“Jean don’t be mean.” You chuckle as Connie begins mocking Jean’s unsuccessful beard. Sasha began questioning about food as you began remembering the days when the three of you would have to hear Sasha go on about the next meal occurring.
“We’re finally going home.” Jean mutters looking at you as he stands up to meet your gaze fully. He grabs your waist with an ease before giving you a soft kiss on your lips, he stopped caring about those around you both. Watching as melted right into his touch. “I love you.” He whispers through it all.
You grab his hair to bring him down, his tongue flicking inside your own as it entangled with your own. Before finally taking a breath of your own away from him, Connie and Sasha’ eyes go wide. “I love you too.” Jean held your hand softly before you both turned to your two friends.
“I fucking told you, didn’t I, you owe me meat when we get back.” Sasha happily spoke to Connie, as you both went beside them listening to the hurray’s of victory.
Sasha had whispered something to Jean making the boy let go of your hand to shut the people up, “Hey, quiet down!” You moved to the side to let him past, feeling his hand on your back to make them all be quieter.
You continued hearing the celebrations, Connie asking about Lobov as you were just glad that all your friends seemed to be safe. You stood on the other end of Jean beside the wall, leaning against it as you almost wished you could have the same innocence in this celebration that the others had.
The sound of a child behind you made you all startle, seeing a girl with her gun raised, “Sasha.” You shouted but the bullet had already been shot right into her chest. You were unable to move, eyes widening as you easily caught her just before she was about to hit the ground. You slowly let her down, eyes widening at how blood seeped onto your clothes and hands, she stayed in your arms, her head against your knees as tears formed in your eyes. “Sasha, come on, you...you’ll make it, come on.”
Just as Gabi was ready to shoot again, Jean put his gun out, but the other cadets got at her and the boy first. Connie came running towards Sasha, hand on her cheek, “stay with us!”
“Pl...please, don’t leave me.” You whispered, feeling her head become heavy on your, blood continuing to seep out. Jean knelt beside you as he saw the tears drop down your face and fall down your own. “Sasha.” You wept out.
She began speaking about food, her breath heavy as Connie pleaded for her to continue, with her last words being the one thing she truly loved, Connie watched as he got bandaged up, your body encased in blood as tears continued to drop down your face with no end. She was your best friend, and you couldn’t do anything, Jean could barely even look at her near dead state, his gaze ending up on the two children after Floch had called him.
You tried to suppress your tears, you did but every time you faced your friend, more and more formed. Your breathing irregular as it became harder and harder to even speak a word. The sound of the child's voice shouting about devils and other shit, made your tears turn into anger, in an instant you went right up to her face ready to punch her yourself. “Y/n.” Jean gave a soft whisper, “take them with me.” You continued to be filled with rage as you walked them down to where the rest of your friends were.
Armin was the first to notice the blood across your body and the puffed-up eyes, but the two children had brought about more confusion instead. Their eyes widened at the sight of Zeke, you didn't care for their confusion, instead Levi asked who they were. Unable to speak, you let Jean speak until the very end, “this girl shot Sasha.” Tears welled up in your eyes again, “it...it doesn’t seem like she will make it…”
Armin and Mikasa ran past the two of you, you could barely move to run with them. Your legs felt heavy as you sobbed at your words, tears continuing to fall down your face. Standing in the corner, your hands at your eyes as you sobbed quietly, you prayed she would be okay. Hoped for a miracle to occur where everything was fine, and she never actually got shot. But that’s when you felt the blood on your clothes, the blood on your face and hands. The blood everywhere, Jean began shouting at Yelena, you ignored all sounds as all you wanted to hear was your crying.
The sound of the door opening made you move to see who it was, Connie appearing with a horrified face, as you and Jean both stared at him. “Sasha…” He paused making your head think she was okay, that she was alive, “she’s dead.”
Your whole life crumbled in an instant, you felt your knees go weak as you fell to the ground, Jean catching you as he felt with you, his arms around you. You sobbed into his shoulder, wailing with no end. Your friend was dead, the girl you had grown up gone in a matter of seconds, dead because of a stupid little girl.
Jean’s eyes widened as tears formed his own eyes as he held you close. He stopped caring about the mission, stopped hearing others, only seeing you. He couldn’t let what had happened to Sasha occur to you, he couldn't. He would protect you with his last breath, and now with you in his arms a crying mess, he’d keep that promise he made to you when you had just met at 12, he’d keep the promise. Never wanting to see you cry like this ever again, because you were always going to be his, and he’d be damned to let anything happen to you.

Impatience (Levi x Reader)
Pairing: Levi x Reader, Levi x You
Genre: Fluff (soooooo much fluffffff)
Word Count: 1199
A/N: Hellooooo fellow Levi hoes, here’s a fluffy scene between you and Levi. Been wondering, when Historia became Queen and got Levi into saving the orphans of the Underground, how cute was he going to look holding one of those orphans in his arms... 😳 Oh my God... Anyways! The two of you are already in a relationship, so just, enjoy! 😘
You were in the Underground -a place the two of you hadn’t visited in so long- and Queen Historia was leading the way. She was in a carriage riding ahead. Of course, Levi and (y/n) were on the front to lead them through the streets of the place that you two grew up in. A bunch of MPs were all around, making sure to help and protect their Queen from the scums that lurked around in the Underground. The smell of moisture was all too familiar. Both (y/n) and Levi couldn’t help staring all around the place. You hadn’t visited that place ever since Erwin came and dragged you both out of there.
Too many bad memories. You recognised the streets. Children were lying all around. Abandoned and starving. Despair in their eyes. Their bones almost sticking out from the lack of tissue. Levi raised his hand, signalling the MPs to stop, and Historia stuck her head out of the carriage.
“We’re here, your Majesty,” Levi informed her. He had to admit, it was weird calling that brat like this, but he got used to it faster than he expected.
“Excellent, Captain, Lieutenant,” Historia jumped out of her carriage and the MP officer approached her right away.
“Uh- Ma’am! I suggest that you stay within the carriage. You will be safer that way,” The man said nervously. Historia frowned and parted her lips to throw something utterly rude on the officer’s way, but you unmounted your horse, and you approached the two.
You placed a hand on Historia’s shoulder. “No need to worry, officer, we’ll be keeping an eye on her. Besides, there’s no criminal in the Underground that doesn’t fear Captain Levi, I assure you,”
Historia smirked. “Exactly. Now quit trying to order around your Queen, and let’s get to work,” Historia said. An authoritative and stern tone in her voice that could’ve scared the highest-ranking officers trembling. Your eyes widened. You were impressed.
“U- Uh, yes, your Majesty! I- I wasn’t trying to- M- My apologies!” The young man stuttered before he set off to get to work right away.
Once the two of you were left alone, you laughed and squeezed Historia in a side-hug. Your hand reached for Historia’s hair, caressing gently. “I’m so damn proud of you!”
Historia giggled and overly enjoyed the way you were messing her hair. “Thanks, (y/n)!” She managed to escape your hug and she turned and looked around her. “Let’s see what we got here,”
The MP officers, Historia, Levi and (y/n) set off to pick up the children, load them in the empty cart and take them out of that horrible place. The construction of the orphanages was going well, and Historia didn’t want to any more prolong saving those kids. She had to save them, and she had to do it fast.
You knelt in front of a little boy. He must have been around three to four years old. He flinched right away when you approached him, as if he was afraid that you were going to hurt him. That reaction was more than understandable. You were once the same. A scared, bony little child, tossed into a cruel world, wallowing in fear and despair.
“It’s alright,” You said and you gave him the sweetest smile you could manage. You knelt down, close to his height. “I’m (y/n). What is your name?”
He examined you with those huge, innocent, deep brown eyes of his for a moment. “S- Shawn,”
“Well, Shawn, it’s very nice to meet you. Are you hungry?” You asked. The boy was scared, but hearing of food, that fear slowly started to subside. The boy nodded and your hand reached for your pocket beneath your green, Survey Corps cloak. You took out a cracker. You opened and handed it to him. “There you go,”
Shawn stared at the cracker. He didn’t even bother to catch it. He lifted both of his little hands up, allowing you to pick him. You smiled as you handed him the cracker, and then you lifted him up and settled him in your arms. He was so light, it almost worried you, but he started munching on the cracker hungrily. He had consumed it before you knew it.
You tried to leave him back down on the cart where the rest of the children were and Historia was offering them food, but he did not want to get off of you. Shawn just buried his face in your neck. His little hands clutched on your clothes and he remained silent in you embrace. All you could do was smile. You pressed a kiss on his little temple.
“It’s alright, you’re safe now. We’ve got you,” You said, trying to reassure him, but his little fingers only tightened around your shirt. “Alright, I’ll hold you a little bit more,” You promised and you turned around only to see Levi with a little girl in his arms.
The sight melted your heart right away. The little girl was in a white, dirty, ragged gown. She had blonde, messy long hair. She too had finished eating the cracker that Levi had given her, and she was now sucking on her thumb. She must’ve been a three-year-old. She was the definition of cute.
“Oi, brat,” Levi’s one hand reached for the little girl’s and he pulled her thumb out of her mouth. “No sucking on your fingers. They’re dirty,”
The girl just looked up at him, with those large honey eyes and she tucked her finger back in her mouth. Levi sighed. He should’ve known better than to try to reason with a three-year-old.
Your sweet laughter reached his ears and he finally lifted his attention on you. He almost forgot how to breathe. You had a little boy in your arms, and that boy was clutching on your shirt and he was burying his face in your neck. Your hands supported this little body against your chest and the boy had closed his eyes, enjoying every second he spent in your arms.
You were so wonderful, there, holding and talking, and treating that little kid as if it was your own. Levi couldn’t get his eyes off of you. He could almost imagine you in one of your white, baggy gowns, and a baby boy in your arms. One that would have the raven colour of his hair, but your eyes.
Levi tried his best to snap out of the beautiful picture that he had in his mind as the two of you finally settled the little ones on the cart, but he couldn’t stop himself. A warm arm slipped around your waist, and he forced your back to crush against his chest. Dry, soft lips pressed a kiss against your cheek from behind and his breath brushed against your ear warmly as he spoke.
“I can’t wait to have one of our own,”
You giggled. A bright blush spread across your cheeks and you let her head rest back on his shoulder. You nuzzled your nose in his neck and you smiled, closing your eyes briefly.
“Me neither,”
A/N: Ooffffff there it is! Y’all feel free to reblog just send a few follows and notes on my way! Thanks for reading! Lemme know what you think! This is a scene from my actual Levi x OC fic on ao3, I just changed it slightly so that it can stand on its own 🥰

Hi! Can I request headcannons for the human brothers accidently summoning an angel mc instead of a demon and the angel mc insisting on sticking around and helping them?
The other brothers: :) Satan: >:)
This has been in the drafts for too long. I really love the absolute mood switch between Lucifers and Mammons. And just Satans in general ig.
Lucifer
After years of religious trauma at the hands of his father Lucifer finally thought he was free of any connection to the church. Summoning a flaming seraphim at 3 in the morning was not a pleasant way to find out that he was wrong.
As for you, being summoned for the first time in your long long life was an unwelcome surprise. You were a seraphim for heaven's sake. The cream of the crop, highest of the high, and that wasn’t pride speaking only facts. You were crucial to running the celestial realm.
But somehow you’re undeniably tied to his human. You could feel where his soul became intermeshed with your very essence. How wrong it felt to be tied to something so mortal, and delicate, and free.
Any attempts to leave would surely be met with disaster.
So you stay. Lucifer is cold. You can’t blame him. Being there reopens old wounds that he’d rather have remained closed. But just ignoring each other isn’t going to work.
He’s not interested in the celestial realm, and despises any blessing you try and give him, but a fresh cup of coffee during an all-nighter seems to make him brighter than any magic you could do and when you run your hands through his hair he looks at you with more fondness than you can comprehend.
You learn to be more human. He learns to let go of the past.
And one day you find that you don’t want to leave anymore.
For celestial sake that thought should as well be treason! But it’s true.
It’s a spring afternoon and Lucifer plays celestial lullabies on his piano and you want nothing more than for the beautiful night to come so you can sweep him in your arms and remind him how he glows.
You don’t know what is right and what is wrong anymore, but you know that this human is yours and you are his. To rip off your wings would be to find solace in his arms. But you can not give him that. This he knows.
So you promise to protect him, in words he can’t hear but he understands. The spread of your wings shield him from the world and you press blessings to his skin in the shape of the crescents in his back and your lips on his neck. If nothing else you’ll keep him safe. When the world seems too big and the stress of his life gets him down you’ll always be here for him to crawl back to. You can give him that much.
Mammon
That was it
You had to have been assigned the stupidest human in the world
When you were promoted to guardian angel you kinda thought it would be more ‘protecting orphans’ and ‘guiding lost puppies back home’ NOT watching a grown man spend his last paycheck on his eighth Nigerian prince scam
Seriously mammon? Did the prophetic dreams you sent mean nothing? The visions of the future he coincidentally had after hitting his head on a light post, only simple illusions? What more could you try beyond simply marching down their and clocking him on the head yourself?
...unless
Raphael would have your wings if you went to the human world. But that would be a lot less painful that having to watch whatever Mammon was going to do with all the rubber cement he just bought.
The next morning you decide to sneak down. The city was amazing, all colored light and fun machines that whizzed by you on the streets
But you had to stay focused
You were an angel on a mission
You made your way towards central park. Mammon went there every morning to swindle tourists out of their wallets. If you were fast you’d get there before the first patrol office started chasing him.
Spotting the albino you marched straight towards him, readied yourself, and smacked him over the head.
Maybe not very angel-like but it worked.
One introduction later and you're officially a guardian angel
Mammon’s actually pretty nice once you get to know him. Sure he may be a bit too obsessed with lining his pockets but for all his talk he never hesitates to try and help you out.
Consistent affection and care is good for him. He never really knows how to react when you wrap your wings around him but even with his tsundere objections it's obvious he’s pleased.
He’ll take whatever scraps of affection you’ll give him and practically beams at every little gesture you do, no matter how small or insignificant.
You do have to be careful though.
At his request you had attempted to bless him with a bit of luck. An easy enough spell for an angel like you (even if you were 90% sure he planned to go gambling after). Whatever scheming he’s doing immediately stops the moment you cup his face. He seems to freeze when you lean in, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek
You were about to congratulate yourself on a spell well done when you noticed the condition he was in. He was like a living statue, a statue with a very very red face
Before you can ask what was wrong he flails pushing you away and darting off to his room
Any attempts to speak to him the rest of the day were met with incoherent shouting.
It might be best to withhold any magic until you can figure out how humans work
Levi
Once again Levi’s dedication to anime gets him into trouble
It started with his most recent obsession, a new anime that follows a group of angels, produced by the famous company, Dove. The plot, the animation, the soundtrack, all of it was amazing so when they came out with a new limited edition item featuring the very symbol that the main character wore he just had to have it
The moment it came he was setting it up on its own altar, a handmade replica just like in the show only for- Oh no
Before his eyes burst a shining visage of light and then you
You blink in surprise, whether it's from taking a human form for the first time in decades or the strange new room you were in, only you know
The scene may be foreign but the guy quivering on the floor was not
BE NOT AFRAID
Your booming voice echoes around the room
For some reason the guy begins to freak out even more
Didn’t he see your halo? You even told him to not be afraid. Were humans really so strange? :(
Oh well. You hum making your aura as comforting as possible and slowly the guy calms down enough for you to coax him into a seat as you begin to explain.
Which might not have been the best move.
The moment it sunk in he was bombarding you with questions
Yes you were an angel, no you didn’t know what anime was, yes you had wings, no you didn’t have any secret ultimate moves...whatever those were
He ranted and raved over this and that and you let him. He seemed like he needed someone to talk to. It also let you piece together what had happened.
He seemed to be a natural sorcerer, and a powerful one at that if he could someone an angel with no training or even knowledge that he could do magic
Just a few minutes in his presence made his self loathing obvious. Mix in a bit of anxiety and envy and you essentially have Levi in a nutshell
So you decide to stay
What kind of angel would you be if you just left him here? Michael would understand.
Or he wouldn't, it didn’t really matter because you already made up your mind.
Living with Levi is an experience for both of you.
He introduces you to so many new things. He had little boxes that could control light and screens containing actual people to talk to. It was all quite fanciful
In return you act as his friend, encouraging him to go out with you and attending cons with him, even if you still weren't exactly sure what cosplaying is
Slowly he begins to open up for you
He’s still nervous to go out in public, and a complete introvert at heart.
But that was fine. You could both figure out this new world together, at your own pace
Satan
Definitely was not trying to summon a demon to lay havoc on his enemies
Nope, not him he says all while trying to casually kick away vials of mysterious fluids
...Right
You’ve been down to the human world enough to know a demon summoner when you see one
Or in this case a failed summoner
He has no excuse for why he called you and instead seems more insistent that you leave
As much as you you might like to return to the celestial realm, you cannot in good conscience leave a man that you know is going to try and raise hell on earth the moment your gone
So you stay, and it's a good thing you do
This man has anger issues like no other
You thought Raphael was bad this guy is like a demon himself
However he seems willing to try and make the best of what he considers a bad situation
He asks you a lot of questions on the celestial realm
For a guy who knows so much about the devildom he seems to really be lacking on any knowledge on the other celestial beings
He mostly asks you questions on the celestial war, which is a touchy topic at best and downright upsetting at worst
He’s very interested in your opinions as your point of view is very different from his own, what with being a different species and everything
You learn things too, mostly about humans and cats but you suppose its a fair trade
Because of this you become close friends
You really win him over when he finds out your calming aura naturally attracts the stray kittens Satan's been trying to pet for the last few months
It’s not uncommon to head out to late night coffee shops and discuss the merits of different aspects of your lives
But maybe you’ve gotten a bit to close when he starts asking you to revise his summoning notes
Asmo
Apparently a lifetime of partying has prepared Asmo for some very weird discoveries
When you're sent down to the human world you have one job, find and keep an eye on the potentially dangerous summoner who's been in contact with multiple high level demons in the past few days.
Instead you end up meeting Asmo
You were prepared for a fight, not to be tackled into a hug the moment you revealed yourself
Asmo on the other hand is squealing with excitement
Sweetie, he's been waiting for this moment! This is his first time meeting an angel after all
He immediately begins talking about everything he wants to do
You quickly find out that he hasn’t made any pacts...yet, if only because he “couldn’t bear to damage his skin with such an ugly mark”
...Well you suppose that's a reason to not sell your soul
Even thoughts he's aware of the three realms it doesn’t make him any less enamoured with you
He’s never met an angel, he’s quick to mention. He’d love to get to know you, if you get what he means ;)
Are all humans so upfront?
If you decline he still wants to see your true form, even after you explain that no, if you transform you will not just be a beautiful angel with wings but instead a glowing mass of eyes and feathers and angelic light that will probably end up blinding him
Blinded because of your beauty ;) ;) ;)
That said he’s easily satisfied when you just bring out your wings.
He loves fussing with them and decorates them with jewelry and roses whenever you leave them out
He even starts an angel trend on insta after posting a photo as if they were coming from his back instead
Claims your glowing aura is great for his skin
You’re not sure if that’s a pick up line or if he’s serious but he definitely basks in your presence
Loves when you talk about the celestial realm, somewhere he desperately wants to go
I mean it's the only place that's fit for a beauty like him right? But of course he can’t die yet, his fans would be sooo upset
You agree to bring him up there one day, even if that sounds a little morbid
Of course he asks you to become his guardian angel
That may not be your actual job but you can’t resist his puppy dog eyes
You and him go pretty much everywhere together, bar some more xxx rated sites
He introduces you to parties and bars, and while you don’t indulge it's enjoyable to see humans in their natural element. They’re so fun and free spirited just like Asmo
Maybe that's what attracted you to him in the first place
He loves life for what it is, something so admirably human
But you don’t slack off either. You take your role as Official Guardian Angel seriously. You guard his drinks when he goes to the bathroom, and hum celestial lullabies when he’s sad and escort him down dark alleys when walking home. He has nothing to fear with you around.
You’ve become very fond of this human. Perhaps you’ll stick around a bit longer than you planned
Beel
It’s rare to be assigned to a human so...mundane
But that’s exactly what Beel is. He goes to the gym in the mornings, works a nine to five, and comes back home to his dog
He even has a good relationship with this family, do you know how hard that is to find in this day and age???
The only thing even slightly abnormal about this guy is his appetite
He could put a gluttony demon to shame with the way he eats
But the point is you really can’t figure out why you’ve been assigned to him or how your supposed to guide him
Eat a little less? Stop stealing your brother's lunch?
It’s the first time in a long while you’ve been so stumped
So you do what any sane angel would, go down to the human world to meet him yourself
He’s a likeable guy and it’s easy to get close to him, more so do to your angelic status
Although it’s surprising how well he takes the whole angel revelation
To be honest your pretty sure he forgets most of the time
He tends to follow you around, especially at night when he insists on walking you to wherever you need to be. It’s sweet even though there's little that can really harm you in the human realm
You quickly realize that he’s the type to have nightmares, usually calling out for one of his brothers or his sister
It’s become habit to wake up and head to his room
Just being there seems to calm him down
The first time he wakes up when your doing this he ends up asking you to stay
Isn’t shy about sharing the bed either.
He’s easy going so goes along with whatever idea you have
Especially when he starts finding snacks in his bag, each one blessed for a good day or to stay full or whatever little thing you thought of that day
Belphegor
Humans can’t see angels. Not unless they want to be seen, you remind yourself for what must be the tenth time.
But you’re almost certain that guy is looking right at you.
Step to the left, his head follows
To the right, his eyes narrow looking at you like your some puzzle he just hasn’t figured out yet
…this was fine
You turn around pretending to just not see him in hope that he’ll get distracted by something else
...you glance back. Why was he still looking at you? What is with this creep?
Enough is enough.
You march over there ready to ask what his problem is. Instead he beats you to it.
Eh? You’re an angel right? He asks before you can say anything.
???? Shouldn’t he sound more shocked.
The guy just sleepily blinks. He doesn’t look like a sorcerer or a witch, in fact you can’t feel any magic from him at all.
You go to ask only to realize he’s sound asleep. It’s not like you could just leave him here. And at the same time a human who can just see angels is an oddity of itself.
You decide to hang around for a while. Belphegor doesn't mind. He only says something about it being "too troublesome to drive you off," and "you'd look like you'd just come back anyways"
Belphie sticks to you like glue, if glue was absolutely insufferable and seemed to enjoy annoying you at every possible moment
You would think this would be easy. I mean he sleeps all day and when he’s not sleeping he’s napping. Simple enough right? Wrong
When he was awake he was committed to pushing every single button you have
If it seemed like it might inconvenience or annoy you he was already doing it. Trying to smack your halo, pounce on you, or even jump off the roof just to see you scramble to catch him. He was like some terrible terrible cat
Luckily he was never energetic for long. When he wore himself out he’d retreat to the roof of his crappy one bedroom and wait for you to join him
He liked to look at the stars and he’d point them out to you. Orion, Polaris, Sirius, he would mutter, bringing you back to the days when Michael, who was once so fond of you, would sneak you down to the human world just to show you the stars and darkness the celestial realm could not offer
When he finally got tired you would take over reciting Celestial names and marking the sky with your finger just to show him where they’d be.
Those times were pleasant. Even if they were brief.
“I’m gonna jump.”
“Do it.”
“You’re an angel. Aren’t you supposed to stop me before I do something stupid?”
“You won't.”
“Aight. Bet.” Belphie pitches forward and you just manage to catch him by the leg before he falls off the roof.
Brat.
Always ruining a good moment.
You can’t even be mad. The moment you pull him up he’s already resting his fluffy head in your lap waiting for you to pet him.
He may be the most troublesome human in the entire three realms, but he’s your human

your angst is really good and i wanted to may i request guard levi and princess reader, they have an affair because they end up falling in love but one day levi can’t protect her because he takes his eyes off her and idk the plot i just felt like crying today and i need a reason so just something angsty😭
note :: i saw this and really wanted to write something but i’m not really sure if i did well it’s shorter than what i normally write but hopefully i did some justice to your request. requests are open so feel free to drop by again and request if you want to !!
++ might make this into an actual fic perhaps,,, minus the dying and what not but guard levi is a very interesting concept to me hmm
warnings :: blood, death, infidelity
No one knows or is able to understand why or how Levi is having such a hard time coping with your death. You are the princess of the nation and he, your guard. Nothing more, nothing less.
At least that’s what everyone else in the Kingdom thinks.
Every night he greets your book shelf like a mad man. Well, it’s all he has to remember you by, why would he ever let it go with ease?
"What you reading? Another sappy romance novel?" He's poked his head from a corner and you grin up at him telling him that you are indeed indulging in another piece of romantic fiction.
For an unknown reason dread fills his gut when he meets your smile, that's never happened before.
It's a bad omen, a sign that he's fallen but is in denial, refutation, rejection, contradiction whatever it is he can't find an appropriate word for it. All he knows is he'll regret this later. He doesn't know why but the sinking feeling in his stomach is an indication that this forbidden romance the two of you share in secrecy will go South.
It’s silent apart from your humming.
"Levi... can you promise me you'll live a long happy life?" The out of place question is worrying. Another premonition and he opens his mouth to voice his concern. However your gaze lingers on his face telling him to not cause a dispute, not right now.
"If you promise me the same, then yes My Lady."
Looking away you're awake but distant. "We are in privacy. You may use my name Levi."
"And, I don't know if I can live a long and happy life. I can try." The slow confession only makes his heart race uncomfortably.
He sighs sitting beside you, your shoulders rub against his. "Then I retract my previous statement. I cannot possibly live a happy life when the princess is discontent."
You flail your arms around, hands are flapping in front of your chest in an attempt to convince him to not think so foolishly.
He narrows his eyes. Expression unreadable, a mix of frustration, maybe even premature grief. It's enough to coax an agreement out of you.
"Very well, I promise to live happy."
Fists clenching your bed sheets he damns himself to Hell for ignoring his instincts. For putting your life in jeopardy all for his own temporary satisfaction.
His forehead hits the plush duvet and he inhales the linen hoping that your smell lingers, hoping that the vanilla is still present. Hoping there’s something left to prove he hasn’t made you up. He fears he’ll forget your scent, your voice, your touch. He fears he’ll forget it all.
If he had followed orders, never let himself grow emotionally involved perhaps you would still be here. Perhaps, if he didn't lead you astray and convince you to betray royalty by pursuing what the two of you shared, maybe just maybe you would still be alive and well.
He'll end up in damnation for all the pain and suffering he's caused you, He curses himself every day for having the nerve to fall in love with a member of Royalty.
No matter how well respected or how strong he was in the military he never had the power to protect you from the political turmoil your family was submerged in. He wasn't of Royal blood, there was nothing he could do to protect you.
One of you would die first, and die you did.
He assumes he was made to suffer through that bleak, unwelcoming night for a reason. That's why he had to see the enemy take you away from him, he needed to be given a reality check.
Royalty and commoners are worlds apart for a reason.
You scream at the world as you call for him, shrieking as the blade erupts from your stomach. It’s throbbing and strumming in vengeance. The contents of your belly become one with the floor but the pungent stench isn't enough to pry Levi away from you. The air is quickly fogging up with the scent of your blood and insides. You whimper, you cry, you sob staring at the heavens.
"You are not dying on me, You can't be dying on me, I won't let you die on me. We haven't said goodbye properly, you can't just-"
"Yes I can Levi. I am not immortal." There you are laughing as you wilt in his arms, you disregard the emptiness you feel, you need to comfort him. Withering away isn't an option for now.
Frantically attempting to staunch the wound to no avail Levi is distraught when he feels you slipping away from him. "You promised to live a long happy life." He murmurs in betrayal, his eyes are glazed over in complete shock.
Panting out of exhaustion and pressing down firmer he's pleading you to not let go of him just yet.
You watch him unravel above you, eyes squeezed shut, he’s lurching forward burying the sounds that want to escape from his chest so badly.
Your shaking hands travel to his cheeks cupping them gently and you draw hesitant circles into his cold skin.
Levi’s tears fall and you sense the dampness coat your fingertips.
"If you were paying attention you would know I promised to live happy Levi, not live long."
You broke the promise, an early death is not dying happy.
He's stunned, he should’ve known you’d pull something like that.
"You made me the happiest Levi."
He thinks that’s a lie.
You break under the pressure and finally admit how you feel.
"I'm scared, what if we never-"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence, we will do what we've planned. I promise." He growls assertive in his point of view.
But, you know it's too late. Placing his unsteady hand above your heart you let your other hand fall from his face. The energy is being drained out of you quicker than expected.
"I dreamt about you last night, dreamt we could be happy.” You hack and gasp desperately for breath but much to Levi’s horrified gaze the blood only trickles down your chin. “I hope we reunite whether that be in the afterlife if that place is real or in another life entirely. We will become lovers but we can't indulge in that luxury right now."
"No, no, no. Shut up, stop talking you're wasting your breath you need to-"
"I love you Levi, please live happily for me."
Then you are limp.
His eyes shoot open as the scene draws to an end. Yet another nightmare has plagued him, one where he is reminded of your passing.
The title of murderer is self appointed, he holds himself responsible for taking his eyes off you. It gave your assassin the perfect window of opportunity to strike, it had been enough to take you out like a faltering light.
Sometimes as he drinks into the night trying to forget it all. He wonders if everything would be different if he had kept his love for you locked away.
Would you still be alive and married to that other man whilst he would have to watch on in pain?
But nothing would be more painful than now, he’d rather watch that instead of accept that you are long gone.
Would you still be alive and forced to bed your horrible fiancé?
Would you carry that man’s children?
He hates himself for confessing and telling you how he felt. He despises that you had to suffer for his sin.
But, that’s the issue with love. It had made the danger in Levi look like safety to you and it had made the danger in you look like peace to Levi.
There are reasons why a guard and his princess should never mingle.
After all, they are worlds apart for a reason.

It was told to the scouts that Titans had stormed into Trost, making everyone get suited up and put out to try and protect as many citizens as possible.
While suiting up, you made sure to talk to Marco, knowing you two would be separated for a while but it was a habit of yours to always say goodbye and wish him luck. The way your anxiety would make you feel as if you needed to let him know before every mission that you loved him.
As you stood in the doorway, watching him tighten the ODM gear on his waist, his eyes had moved up to yours and a smile instantly appeared on his face. You began to soften up, some of your anxiety washing away as you smiled back at him.
“I know we’ll see each other afterwards but I wanted to wish you luck... like always.” You said quietly, your feet making their way inside the bedroom and he nodded.
“I know how you are.” He chuckled, his arms instantly embracing you in a tight hug and your face pressed against his chest as you took in his scent.
Your eyes had fluttered shut, taking in every second of this as you wrapped your arms around his torso and held onto him as you sighed under your breath, the overbearing anxiety floating over you again.
“You know we’ll meet back up afterwards.” He assured you, his large hand rubbing up and down your back to relax you a bit but it never really worked before any mission.
“Yeah but in case something happens, I won’t forgive myself for not telling you bye and loving you up before you go.” You admitted, turning your head upwards to look up at him and he frowned slightly.
“Nothing is going to happen, I promise. Once we’re back here, I’ll give you all of my love tonight.” His voice was low, the alarm that rang throughout the base had signaled that it was time to go.
“You better. I just want you once we’re back. No distractions.” You leaned up, pecking his cheek and he gave you another big smile.
“I promise... You know I love you, Y/N.” He tucked the loose strands of hair behind your ear and pressed his lips to your forehead then placing them on your lips.
“I love you, good luck.” You gave him one last quick kiss and walked beside him out the door to head outside with the rest of the scouts.
-
Time had went on, the scouts separating and doing the orders that were given to them and soon enough after everything had stopped and most of the Titans were killed, it was over and the scouts began to meet up.
“Some cadets are still missing, be aware.” One of the Captains said and you glanced around, trying to find Marco but he was nowhere.
It had made your heart race but you didn’t want to worry so soon, Marco was great at his job. He’s probably helping someone out.
You had glanced beside you at Jean once all were ordered to take a look around at the casualties while looking for missing members and the both of you had the same thought- stick together and find Marco.
Marco and Jean were pretty close, he was just as worried as you were and he didn’t want to think he was dead or eaten- he was a better scout afterall.
“Where should we look?” You stumbled out, the nerves kicking in and Jean had shrugged.
“Let’s just start off on the roofs and check between buildings.”
It had taken you two a while to look, seeing all the scattered blood and bodies but finally your eyes had landed upon a body laying down with a scouts jacket on. Your eyes had widened but you couldn’t make out the face so you didn’t want to assume.
You called Jean over, landing on the ground and the closer you stepped towards the slumped over body, the more noticeable that it was a guy and you seen the black hair, making you freeze on the spot.
Your heart dropped, your hands beginning to shake and your eyes filling up with tears.
“Marco?” You whispered, suddenly you were on your knees practically crawling over to the body and the loud scream that had escaped your lips had made Jean drop to the ground behind you and freeze as well.
The scream you had let out was painful to Jean’s ears, even scouts from pretty far had heard you as clear as day. The loud sobs escaping your lips had made Jean more afraid to approach you than ever.
Your hands had grabbed onto his body, or what was left of it and you couldn’t wrap your head around anything at all. The way your eyes were blurred from the amount of water in your eyes, the way your heart had felt like it was ripped out of your chest.
Jean had finally stepped forward, kneeling behind you and grabbed onto your shoulders. He was in just as much pain as you were, his eyes watered at the sight but he kept himself together and tried to grab onto you.
“Y/N..” He mumbled, his voice cracking and he tried to pull you back- you didn’t need to be around this.
But you stayed put, clinging onto his limp body and cried into his hair. The way your sobs had sounded, it made things more painful for Jean to try to pull you away from his corpse.
He hated this, he was angry. There was no way Marco could’ve gotten caught up by a Titan, his gear was gone and that had made him think this was intentional.
Finally the other scouts had found their way towards your screams, seeing Marco’s body and everyone stayed quiet as you laid there on the concrete.
“Jean, grab her.” Levi said, making him reach down and grab onto your body.
This time you had let him, letting go of Marco’s body as you fell limp in Jean’s arms. He had held onto you, embracing you in a hug as you cried in his chest.
Jean had tried to lead you away from the scene, walking with you to the end of the street he was at and tried to calm you down a bit.
He understood your pain, he wish he could take it all off of you though, knowing how broken down you really were.
“It’s okay.” He mumbled, shushing you and keeping you pressed against his chest.
The scouts had taken his body, making sure to be careful and bring it back for a burial. You had finally calmed down, watching them put him on the carriage and they took off his coat, handing it over to you.
You stared down at his coat, running your fingers over the badge and sighed to yourself, Jean’s hand still on your shoulder.
The emptiness you had felt deep inside your chest was huge, especially when Jean had mumbled to you how he thinks Marco was murdered and it was intentional that he was dead.
That had made you angry the more you stood there and thought about it, you knew Marco more than anyone but even still, everyone knew how much of a great scout he was- he wouldn’t let himself get caught up by a Titan.
Someone did this to him.

This is short but idk what else to really write out🤧

Part 2 ½:
Part 2 here: https://ptitelidio.tumblr.com/post/656547814999031808/rivetra-theories
Summary: the scene takes place two weeks ago from the 1st part when Petra was chosen to receive the jaw titan by Captain Levi Ackerman himself. Things will get tough when she has to meet Reiner Braun for the next raid over Paradis, a soldier she knew some years ago.
Involving: Petra Ral, Levi Ackerman, Theo Magath, Piek inger, Colt Grice, Reiner Braun and Ziek Jäger.
Italic font = flashback
Point of view: Petra’s
The trains stops as we get off and Gabi is already overexcited about the upcoming events –Willy Tybur’s speech. I approached her with a warm smile and patted her head.
“How are you doing, young candidate?” I asked her
“Oh that’s you, Petra isn’t it? Nice to meet ya. I heard you got the jaw titan, what a lucky woman…”
“Yes, that’s correct. And I heard a lot about you, apparently you want to get the armor one?”
“I’m the worthiest candidate for the armor titan, I made a lot of efforts lately.”
“I see… and… by any chance, are you related to Reiner? I mean both of you are named Braun”
“Actually he’s my cousin. I know I’m lucky to have a warrior among my family. Do you know him?”
“Ah.. not really I only heard some things about him that’s all…”
For the mission to success, it was imperative that I stayed as far as I could from Reiner Braun. Even though we never talked face to face when he was a soldier, he might have seen me somewhere. People usually say that it’s hard to not notice me because of my ginger hair.
And with Eren somewhere in Marley… he could screw it all up.
“Miss Ral, let’s go,” Captain Levi waved his hand at me.
“I’m coming.”
I caught up with the distance between us, then he put his hand on my back so that I hurry up.
“Are we far from M. Braun and M. Jäger?” I asked
“We have only a little more to walk.”
I noticed Pieck’s smile as Colt reminded her some old moments with Reiner, naturally she seems to know him much more than I do.
Anyways... I have to find an excuse to avoid that meeting… but what? I have to find a way or else…
“Hey, take this.” Captain Levi threw a bunch of keys and asked me to bring some plans he left in his room.”
“Oh…”
“Look. The apartment is just there. I need you to bring us the plans for the raid. You’ll find them in the second drawer of my desk,” he said as he pointed out a large grey-brick building.
As if my prayers had been answered, I went there as fast as I could. I however had something to do before going there. Hanji and I were supposed to meet today to give them a briefing. I made sure to bring a cape to hide among the crowd.
After a little while, Hanji finally showed up covering their eyes with the edge of their hat.
“Aaah Petra it’s nice to see you again,” they said with joy.
“Me too, it’s been a while!”
“Is everything going well? You’re not in trouble?”
“Don’t worry, I’m not. I managed to avoid a meeting with Reiner Braun, oddly the captain of my team asked me to bring some plans. He could have done it himself…”
“Yes it’s weird… you should keep an eye on him. And you talked about plans?”
“That’s right, apparently it’s about a raid they plan to make over Paradis.”
“Ugh… we have to act fast. Do you know who’s in charge of the assault?”
“No nobody is aware of this but the higher ups. But I bet M. Jäger has something to do with this. I didn’t meet him for the moment, but he seems to be a very important figure.”
“You may meet him in any case. You have to.”
“I know, I’ll be careful.”
“Then if you don’t mind, let’s get those plans”
***
“Did you find them?” Hanji asked
“That’s weird… he told me they were in the second drawer but it’s empty.”
“He might have forgotten or lost them, he’s probably messy just like me” they laughed
“No that’s not possible. He’s very caring about cleanliness. Look at his room.”
“You’re right… then… do you think he might have fooled you?”
“What do you mean?”
Hanji started turning around and mumbling some unintelligible things
“If that’s the case… he might have… but why is he…”
“Hanji?”
“We have to get out of here right now.”
“Ugh? Why?”
“Trust me, there’s something odd.”
But before we could leave the room, we heard someone’s footsteps getting louder.
“Let’s hide on the roof” they said pointing out the steel stairs.
Someone entered without knocking… which means it’s the Captain. Why is he here?
“Stay behind me Petra, I’m watching who enters”
“That might be Captain Levi” I whispered to Hanji
“No it’s not him.”
“How could you be so sure? You never saw him”
“What’s the point of searching the flat for someone if they know they are already here? Moreover, he’s not only looking for someone but he’s thoroughly looking for you. Which means someone said to him that you were coming. Probably your captain himself as he gave you the keys.”
“Why would he even suspect me? If I ever wanted to steal the plans, I would be uncovered as soon as he would notice it. I’ve not been among them for a long time.”
“You’re right, then the only reason for that man to be here is that he and your captain suspected that you would show the plans to someone before giving them to him.”
“Then the mission is doomed Hanji.. I’m sorry…”
“Don’t be, I never said he knew who you were. He might suspect you but don’t forget that Marleyans have a lot of enemies. Besides, anyone would get those plans as our little island is full of scarce and valuable resources.”
Hanji was right as ever; she was not our commander for nothing.
“Oh… it’s not really related but I discovered that his last n…” I began
“Wait, wait! Someone else’s coming.”
Hanji couldn’t see the second person as they didn’t enter the room, but the man seemed to be arguing with the other.
“Hanji let me see who it is.”
As I bend over the roof, I immediately recognize his back. It’s Commander Magath. What the heck is going on?
“Hanji, he’s the Commander of the warriors. Do you think he and Captain Levi were cahoots?”
“By any chance, is he named Theo?”
“Yes that’s correct. How do you know?”
“Look at the other side of the key.”
“Theo Magath; 106. I see… it’s his room. Wait, do.. do they live together?!”
“Shh, keep quiet Petra. You have to discover it, go and see where your Captain is and tell him you found an empty drawer. If he ask, tell him there was nobody with you but you saw Magath entering AFTER you came but you didn’t say something to him as you noticed his name on the key.”
The man finally went out and as he walked down the street, but he was not alone, Captain Levi was the second person.
“No need to look for him, he’s there anyways Hanji…”
***
Point of view: Levi’s
When we arrived at the meeting point, Ziek and Reiner were already here. Pieck and Colt hugged Reiner and saluted Ziek.
“What’s up shortie?” Ziek teased me
“What’s with that look, jackass?”
“The plans, where are they?”
“I sent one of my subordinate to get them.”
“Why’s that?”
“Don’t discuss the orders, Eldian” Theo comes to us hands in pocket.
Ziek’s attitude switches to an obedient little puppy, he salutes Theo and keeps quiet.
“I’m coming back in a minute I have something to check, don’t wait for me,” he continues.
Theo asked me a favor before we got off the train, he asked me to give the keys of my room to Petra so he would ask her some questions in a quiet place, just to be sure she’s not involved with spying. The thing is, she should have found the plans for long so why is she not coming back?
“Hey shortie, you’re coming?”
“Yeah…”
“Hey Pieck, don’t you think M. Magath was acting strange just now?” Colt said
“Yes I noticed too but don’t be noisy.”
“You think he’s acting weird? Colt, do you remember that time when he asked me what my secret technique was to wipe my ass.” Ziek said laughing “Joke apart, the weirdest thing is that he’s actually keeping the plans in one of his pockets”
“Wait what?!” I said
“What? You didn’t notice?”
“Just go, I’m coming back with my subordinate”
***
“Ah, Levi you’re there. Your subordinate, Petra, she’s not there.” Theo said to me as I reach the front foor of my flat.
“What are you doing, Theo? Did you take the plans to get her to confess that she stole them?”
“So you noticed. Well, it’s the best way to uncover her if she’s guilty.”
“But she’s not. I already told you I’m not sure she’s a spy.”
“But what if she was an Eldian, she could have gotten the plans and vanished.”
“I don’t think she’s that stupid.”
“Okay, well then where is she now? She was supposed to get in.”
“I don’t know..”
“You know, all I want is honoring the promise I made to your mother years ago.”
“I don’t need you to protect me, Theo. I’m not a kid anymore.”
“Anyway, let’s join the others.”
“But what if she’s lost? She may have been in the wrong place or met another Marleyan that roughed her up?”
“Oh Levi please, don’t be stupid. Nobody would hurt her; she has a red armband. Come on, we made the others wait too long.”

A quick primer on Schitt’s Creek
So apparently going by the comments on some of my fics I’ve done the thing where some of you who have been reading my fanfic a lot over the years want to read my newest stories without ever having seen the canon source material! You are all valid and I support you.
So I thought it might be nice to write a bit of a primer on the show so you at least know what these people look like and who they are.
First of all I recommend just...uh, watching the show! It really is fantastic, and not just because of the amazing queer normalization. It’s funny and surprising and strange and heartwarming.
Caveat. A lot of people struggle with the first season. It is true that some viewers find it a rough start. The Roses all have significant character arcs and to do that you have to start from somewhere, let’s say. Also the tone of the show and its pace changed markedly between seasons two and three, which is when Dan Levy took over as head writer and they got a bunch of new writers. But even if you’re not quite feeling it from the first episode (I did not have this problem but some people do) I promise, you will be rewarded. And it’s fast, the episodes are only 20 minutes, so.
So! WTF even is this show.
The Premise: The wealthy Rose family lose all their money when their finance guy absconds with it having never paid taxes. They’re left with nothing but the clothes (and wigs) on their backs and the ownership of a small town called Schitt’s Creek that father Johnny once bought for his teenage son as a joke. They relocate there and move into a dilapidated motel, thanks to the good graces of the town’s rednecky mayor, Roland Schitt (Chris Elliott). There they occupy two adjoining rooms, the parents in one and siblings in the other.
The Roses
Johnny (Eugene Levy) - Patriarch Johnny Rose made his money with a chain of video stores. Johnny is the straight man of the family, finding himself constantly shepherding his dramatic spouse and offpsring.
Moira (Catherine O’Hara) - a former soap opera star, Moira is a creature not of this reality, it sometimes seems. She is an eccentrically outlandish persona who cares deeply for her family but is often befuddled as to how to handle those emotions or express them.
David (Dan Levy) - firstborn son David is probably the character most viewers connect with first and more strongly, for a variety of reasons. His personal arc(s) are really the show’s emotional backbone. A former gallerist and pansexual aesthete, David is constantly frustrated by the Incorrectness of everything happening to the family.
Alexis (Annie Murphy) - younger sister and socialite, kind of a Coachella girl, who has spent most of her life globetrotting and getting herself mixed up in outlandish scenarios (it’s a running joke on the show for her to drop in “That one time when I was...” stories as offhand remarks). David is very protective of her even though they fight constantly, and often bailed her out of her Situations when their parents were too caught up in their own stuff.
The Honorary Roses
While the central “character” of the show is the Rose family, in my opinion there are six core characters, which includes these two.
Stevie Budd (Emily Hampshire) - Employee of (and later owner of) the motel where the Roses fetch up. She is David’s best friend and the first person in town he connects with. She is snarky and deadpan and sarcastic. She and David have a short-lived romantic/sexual relationship which ends amicably in season two, but their close friendship remains an important part of the show (yet another thing SC does that’s quietly revolutionary - feature exes who decided to be just friends and then actually do that). She later develops a strong surrogate-father relationship with Johnny as he becomes the co-owner of the motel.
Patrick Brewer (Noah Reid) - David’s business partner, and by the end of the show, husband. Although the show has a great deal to offer apart from this, a lot of people watch mostly for the David & Patrick relationship (which is fine, it’s a big part of the show). Note: if you are watching for this, Patrick does not appear in the show until the mid-third season. At first Patrick seems like an oasis of down-to-earth normalcy amidst all these larger-than-life personalities but it doesn’t take long to realize he’s actually an enormous troll who expresses his love for David by gently roasting him constantly.
And the Others - The show is an ensemble, and apart from these six folks, includes a lot of great secondary characters. Veternarian Ted Mullens (Alexis’s on/off boyfriend), Mayor Roland Schitt and his wife Jocelyn (who is one of my favorite characters), town council curmudgeons Ronnie and Bob, cafe waitress Twyla (played by Dan Levy’s sister Sarah), the local all-gender Casanova woodworker Jake, and the Schitts’ adult son Mutt, Alexis’s first hookup in town.
The Arc: This show is about how the Rose family - who have historically been distant and disconnected - had to lose all their money to find themselves as a family, and later, for each of them to find new fulfillment for themselves. They start out chafing and struggling to get out of this new reality, trying to find a way to sell the town, get “back to normal,” but gradually, they fit themselves into the community. Their family reconnection is pretty strong by the end of S2 (the final scene of that season was my first teary moment) and starting in S3, each of them finds a way to rediscover themselves. Johnny invests in the motel and in Stevie. Moira joins the town council and the local women’s a cappella singing group. Alexis goes back to school and starts pursuing a career in public relations. David takes over a vacant general store and turns it into the Rose Apothecary (which you have probably seen on merch everywhere), a venue for local artisans to sell what they make. It is through this venture that he meets Patrick, who first consults and then decides to invest and become David’s partner in the store.
The show is at the same time outlandish, hilarious, touching, abrasive and over the top. The Roses are over-the-top characters - especially Moira, who speaks in an unidentifiable accent and uses words that may or may not exist - and the story seems to exist in a kind of alternate reality (it’s a fandom joke that the timeline of the show makes no sense - it doesn’t - and it is always summer in SC except for one time when it was Christmas). There is also, by design, no homophobia in Schitt’s Creek. The various iterations of queer characters and relationships aren’t just represented, they’re normalized in a way that I didn’t know I was missing until I saw it.
Plus, it’s fun. Like many of Eugene Levy’s previous works (although the show is really Dan’s creation), the show makes use of musical set pieces. Probably the most famous is the iconic mid-season 4 episode “Open Mic” in which Patrick and David host an open mic night at the store and Patrick serenades David with an acoustic cover of Tina Turner’s “The Best” (arranged by actor Noah Reid, who is IRL a talented singer-songwriter, check out his albums, they’re great). It’s one of the most romantic things I’ve ever seen, made more poignant by the really remarkable face journey David goes through as he listens.
Well, have a look.
youtube
Another big moment was season 5′s production of “Cabaret,” directed by Moira and Jocelyn and starring Patrick as the Emcee and Stevie as Sally Bowles. The rehearsals and performance were mined for a lot of great moments.
Anyway, that’s the gist. Probably more than you wanted or needed.

March comes in like a lion, it's Portrayal of toxic & healthy relationship and how to compares rivamika + Ereh
Que the longest title everr 😌✨
So before I start on the actual analysis, I recently started watching March comes in like a lion instead of doing my assignments and I half way through season 2. For those of you who haven't watched it, it might be a spoilers so beware of that.
In this analysis I'll be comparing the similarities I found between Rei, Hina and Kyoko.
So watching any anime after being do emotionally attached to rivamika it's only natural that I compare them to the characters with even the tiniest bit similarities in their dynamic but Rei and hina's relationship jump in episode 4 of season 2 really caught me off guard and I was like omg?? Rivamika?? How do I make this about them 😩
Anyway so a little background on Rei's relationship with both girls Kyoko and Hina ( Hinata ). Firstly, i subconsciously placed Rei has Mikasa, kyoko has Eren and Hina as Levi, why? You will know on a minute. Rei is a depressed kid who has known only one way of life and that's through shogi games and after his parents death ( cough cough ) he was taken in by a old friend ( I think ) of his dad's who was also obsessed with shogi. Kyoko is the biological daughter of this man who has "adopted" Rei and later on Rei was came to know Hina and her sisters, they were super supportive of him from the start and having lost family members themselves they related to him on a personal level.
So you see why Eren and mikasa's dynamic matches with Rei and Kyoko and not only as "step siblings" it's also the fact that Rei became somewhat obsessed with her through the time he had spent over at their house, it's toxic and it's been showcased that way ever since kyoko was introduced into the series. Rei thought of her when he heard the word "love" and he even admitted to the fact that having her around is toxic and yet he can't push her away. He said he does not want to stop hearing her voice even tho she , herself is in love with a much older man who is married. Everytime she showed up to his bedroom uninvited and slept next to him my mind went "he is in love with her and their relationship is so toxic why does the author keep bringing her into his life?" Or "girl get the fuck away from him".
Without even thinking too much deep into their physical connection I already knew I would be able to related this dynamic to Eren and Mikasa. Although this series gives us much more depth into the main characters views since it's narrated from his own perspective, and the fact that he metaphorically compared his feelings of being lost and sadness helps me as an audience to understand what's happening much much easier than attack on titan. I personally feel like this kind of series are usually short ( idk how long this is) because it feels like the author knows exactly what he is going for, everything is set in stone.
Going back to Rei's ( mikasa's) relationship with kyoko ( Eren ) it's much much clear how toxic it had become for him in more than just one way. And the show isn't denying Rei of his feelings towards Kyoko and it's not even attempting to distant him from her and yet you just knew there had to be someone better right? That's when they introduced Hina and Kyoko in the same episode, meeting each other and a sense of invisible rivalry gushed over them, especially Hina. She is a happy go lucky girl and extremely sensitive to things to the point it kinda annoys me everytime she bursts out crying ( but hey you can't hate a genuinely good character ).
That's where things get interesting for me maybe because I am on that Levi X Mikasa agenda all the time but just like rivamika their relationship has been portrayed as platonic for the longest time in the seaosns. If I didn't go out of way to search up who Rei falls in love with and it didn't say hina's name I probably wouldn't be making this comparison right now because who wants to have their heart broken for the 2nd time in the same fucking month 🙄.
Anyway so in this one episode Hina comes home crying because of bullying issue at school and as she runs off into the dark streets Rei chases her and eventually catching up to her takes her hand and being able to relate to her problems, comparing his younger self to her present Rei reaches out his hand and God fucking damn it he says "you saved my life..I promise I'll stay with you" ofc I'm making this post now you know the real reason 🤡.
The unseen build up that happen between them reminds me of rivamika, the Portrayal of healthy relationship is rivamika. Hina (in our case Levi ) to Rei is the voice of emotion, she speaks out the feelings that Rei has been surpassing all these years inside of him. Just like how we talked about Levi is the voice of reason, while Mikasa has the impulsive urge to act up. Just like how Levi became the perosn who reasonably always took mikasa's side, he gave her personal reasons to take Erens side everytime have an actual meaning towards the scouts / everyone , he then became someone Mikasa was able to object & voice out her opinion towards because she knew that he would response and guide her the right way and finally he became someone she was able to fully trust.
Much like Hina and Rei, when Hina cried out her heart and Rei couldn't help but go back to his past self and imagine Hina coming to him and giving him a hand, being his saviour. It's much like how Levi saw his past self in Mikasa present ( S1 ), Levi gave Mikasa the hand she needed when she didn't know she needed.
Hina despite being much younger than him, was able to make him realise that he too was shutting out his emotions and was able to let himself be free through Hina when she cried, expressing her frustrations and very human like emotions. In the forest of the giant trees when Mikasa and Levi saved Eren for the first time he told her " we got your precious friend, didn't we?" A slight wake up call he had given her for the very first time, an attack on Mikasa's ego and evoking a different emotions within her. Like telling her it's not only about Eren and getting revenge, risking your life so easily, Levi had lost his entire squad in order to protect Eren so now that he is safe they better leave now.
So the question is did Levi and Mikasa save each other?
What can I say that I haven't said already in here about these two?
"you saved my life" Rei says to Hina as he reached out her hand and the beauty of that scene was the fact that it was delicate and soft despite it not being anything romantic. Remind me of that panel of Mikasa touching Levi's shoulder. How ironic is the fact that I'm comparing Hina, a openly emotional character to Levi who is said to be the most emotional inside?
Levi physically saved Mikasa a lot of the time however emotionally Levi saved Mikasa from being selfish and from herself. What if I said and ignoring 139, that Levi was one of of the biggest reasons Mikasa took the initiative and decapitated Eren that day?
Wait why does it feel like I already said it before lol
Through Levi, Mikasa learnt to trust more, learnt that even though they gave difference not only in height, age and in how they treat Eren ( Levi with force and Mikasa with care ), Mikasa still came in terms with Levi and relied on him, shared her burden with him. I think that's the biggest character twist Mikasa had, the fact that she was ready to draw sword at anyone who treated Eren wrong and everyone was scared of her and then came the grumpy shorty who beat her beloved brother right in front of her but eventually he became the biggest form of support she had in the end. I just can not help but laugh at all the unseen development this ship has had and all the implication of Futher interaction after season 3 between them, it's really obvious they had something going on because imagine you don't talk to someone for like 3 years and suddenly when you engage in battle against , paired up with them suddenly you become the strongest duo known to humanity. +?)!#)# make it make sense.
Sooo now you see the that having toxic relationship with a partner is only natural and inevitable but growing from that, opening your eyes to those who actually care there for you is rather healthy. So moral of the story is guys make sure stick with those who tells you to stay with them, the end.
Omg guys this turned out so much longer than I intended, anyway hopefully y'all liked it. I know it's not the strongest comparison or analysis but I feel like I'm running out of words for what I want to say about rivamika it feels like I'm recycling my sentences from previous analysis over and over again because ✨ lack of content ✨ and my inability to think of something new.
Please ignore all my spelling mistakes I have decided to embrace my mistakes instead of fixing them simply because I'm too lazy 😉

Partners
Characters: Petra Ral, Levi, Hanji Zoe x Levi Genre: Action / Mystery / Romance Rating: T
Detective!au
Summary: when Petra was promoted to a detective and partnered up with legendary Levi Ackerman, she felt like the happiest person in the world.
But, as she soon found out, detective Ackerman she used to admire so much was actually a far cry from the ideal policeman Petra thought he was. He was rude, harsh and easily annoyed. And, in addition, he still hadn’t moved on from the death of his previous partner - detective Hange Zoe.

Chapter 4
It took two sets of the alarm to wake Petra up the next morning. Still sleepy, she yawned and slowly sat up. Rubbing her eyes, she looked out of the window. The weather was awful - the sky was grey, heavy clouds were hiding the sun and making everything look gloomy. It was raining too, the sound of raindrops, hitting the window, was defining in the otherwise silent apartment.
Petra groaned - she hated the rain. Sure, occasional summer drizzle was enjoyable, but weather like this? The cold and harsh autumn rain? The mighty wind that threatened to blow the umbrella out of her hands and then throw her onto the ground as well? She hated it more than anything.
But, whether she liked it or not, Petra had to go to work. So with a heavy sigh, she got up from the bed, shivering as her bare feet touched the cold floor. Draping a robe over her shoulders, she was going to head to the bathroom. A sound, announcing a new message on her phone, stopped her. She reached for the phone, quickly unlocking it. It was seven in the morning. Who could be messaging her so early?
Remember the cafe we visited yesterday? I'm waiting for you there. Don't take too long.
So it was from Levi! But didn't he request a day-off? And what was the meaning of his text? Was it his awkward manner of asking her out on a breakfast? Was it his way of apologizing for the failed interrogation?
Whatever it was, Petra wasn't courageous enough to call and ask him about it. She'd get ready quickly and meet him there. Certainly, things would be cleared out then.
After taking a quick shower and putting on a dark blue dress and a striped black jacket, Petra got in a taxi and soon arrived to the cafe.
And as she got out from the car, the small red umbrella as her only protection from the thick rain, Petra felt dread settle in her stomach. There was shivers running down her spine, and they had nothing to do with the droplets of cold water hitting her face.
The cafe. It was surrounded by police cars.
Fearing the worst, she made her way through the crowd of police officers, ignoring the trembling in her knees. Her hand was clutching the umbrella almost painfully. Her heart was beating so loudly, she could barely hear what the others were talking about. Only when she walked up to the entrance and saw Levi, sitting on a curb and comforting the owner of the cafe, that sweet old lady with a kind smile, only then Petra allowed herself to breathe out in relief.
"What happened?" she demanded from Levi, looking around in alarm.
"Another murder," Levi answered curtly. "The body is inside, I've been waiting for you to show up, so we can get a look at it together."
Petra nodded, ready to start the investigation. Before he got to his feet, though, Levi turned around, whispering something to the old woman. His voice was too soft for her to hear, and Petra turned around, giving them at least some semblance of privacy.
"Let's go," he said as he stood next to her.
"Detective," the woman called, before Levi and Petra disappeared inside. "I'm so sorry for your loss."
For a second, hurt flashed in Levi's eyes. He reached out and gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze. "I'm sorry for yours too, Dorothy."
The woman, Dorothy, looked so sad, so weary and tired. Petra's heart clenched painfully, as she was reminded of her own mother, who had died years ago.
"We'll find the killer," Petra promised her heartily. Levi turned his gaze on her, but Petra didn't let it steer her. She stared straight at Dorothy. "We'll find him and bring him to justice."
The old woman smiled weakly, but genuinely. "Thank you, dear," she whispered softly. "It means a lot."
Petra smiled back, but before she could give Dorothy a reply, she was roughly dragged away by Levi.
"Never give promises you're not sure you can keep," he said sternly.
"But I—"
"You're right, though," Levi continued, cutting her off. "We'll catch that bastard. I'll do whatever it takes to ensure that."
Without sparring her another glance, Levi pushed the door to the cafe open, walking inside.
***
As soon as they entered, a short red-headed woman approached them.
"Detective Ackerman!" she exclaimed, clearly surprised. "Why are you here? Isn't today your day-off? Today is the anniversary of—"
"I know what day it is," Levi gritted through his teeth. "But we've got a dead body in the cafe. So, maybe, you would be so kind as to walk us through the case, Nifa?"
"Ah, of course, I'm sorry,” Nifa pursed her lips, looking up at Levi with caution. But then she sighed, taking out two pairs of sterile gloves and handing them to Petra and Levi. She straightened out and started leading them to the scene of crime.
"The woman, waitress, had her throat slashed, just like the previous victin. According to the owner of the cafe, the waitress had a night shift and was supposed to be working till seven am. At a little past six, the owner came to help with preparing for a morning rush and that's when she had found the body. She called the police and we arrived at half past six. Judging by the rigor mortis, the victim was killed approximately three or four hours ago. There," she gestured at one of the booths, where a woman sat, her head lying on the table.
The first thing Petra noticed about the victim was the yellow jacket that was draped over her shoulders. She wasn’t surprised by its flamboyant, cheerful color, or the fact that it looked like it was put over the victim after her death, no, it was the state of the jacket. The color definitely was bright and vivid before, but now it was covered with dust and soot. The hem and sleeves looked torn and ragged. It seemed as though... the jacket was burned.
Next to her, Levi took a sharp intake of breath.
"We don't know for sure yet!" Nifa blurted out, seeing the expression on Levi's face. "We'll need to search for DNA or—"
"No, it's Hange's," he murmured. His hand was slightly trembling, as he reached out to gently stroke the dirty clothe. His eyes were filled with affection and his lips curled into almost a smile, as gazed at it. “Only that idiot could wear such an ugly jacket.”
Petra and Nifa exchanged a worried gaze.
"That bastard," Levi growled a second later, all signs of that softness gone. He squeezed the hand on his side so much, his knuckles turned white. "He's playing with me again. Fucking asshole,” he spat, his eyes burning with rage. “Well, he can play as much he wants, I'll catch him anyway. And then I'll make him pay." Levi paused, lowering his head and taking a deep breath. Then he looked up, fixing Nifa with sharp gaze. "What else did you manage to find?"
"Not much," she answered honestly. "We couldn't find any fingerprints or other signs of the killer. The victim obviously didn't put up a fight, there is nothing under her fingernails and the only visible injury is the cut on her throat."
"Could she be dragged like the previous victim?" Petra asked.
"Possibly," Nifa nodded. "We'll determine it for sure at the lab. The killer obviously tried to keep this scene of crime as clean as the previous one, but we found traces of blood on victim's blouse and skirt."
"Is there any blood on the jacket?" Levi questioned.
"There is blood," Nifa confirmed. "But it's not fresh. We’ll need to run tests at the lab. To find out, whether the blood belongs to the victim, or...” she paused, staring at Levi apologetically.
“Or if it is Hange’s,” he finished for her. “Well, whatever you find, it’s probable that the jacket was put on the victim after her death."
Petra nodded, satisfied with herself. She came to the same conclusion.
"What about security cameras? Did they manage to catch something?"
"There are no security cameras inside the cafe, but we are still looking for them in surrounding areas."
"Alright," Levi concluded. "We'll take it from here. Let's go and ask around," he told Petra. "Maybe, we'll find a witness."
"Wait a second," Petra stopped Levi with a hand on his sleeve. Her eyes were still focused on that jacket.
It looked like....
Petra quickly put on sterile gloves and carefully tugged at one side of the jacket, revealing the inner layer. Just as she thought, there was something in the inside pocket.
A note.
Grinning victoriously, she took it out. The smile disappeared from her face as soon as she read the contents. Her heart missed a beat as soon as she read the contents.
Levi snatched the note out of her hands before Petra could begin to tremble.
"What is this shit?" he muttered, looking at the note. "You'd better stop looking for me, detective. Or the next souvenir I'll bring you will belong to your new partner," Levi cursed as he finished reading the note aloud. He crumbled the piece of paper in his fist, clenching his jaw.
Petra watched him with a detached face. The edges of her vision began to swim, as the words, written in that note, kept replaying in her head, ringing louder than the noise around her. Her limbs grew limp and her heart rate quickened, as she fruitlessly tried to breathe.
Even though, it didn't happen to her ever since she graduated high school, Petra could never forget the symptoms, the way her body felt in the beginning of a panic attack.
She tried to take a grip on herself, remember the lessons her father taught her. But his words, his wise advices kept escaping her, getting out of her reach before Petra could piece them together.
Her father always said, he always said that in situations like this the most important thing was to... was to…
"Breathe," Levi's gruff voice penetrated through the fog around Petra. "Petra, you just need to breathe, c'mon," he gently but firmly squeezed her shoulders. "In and out, slowly," he instructed her patiently.
After Petra managed a couple of calm exhales and inhales, Levi sighed in relief. "Here," he pressed on her shoulder to sit her down at a chair. Immediately, Nifa appeared with water and granola bar in her hands.
"Are you alright?" she asked, genuinely worried.
"Yeah..." Petra nodded shakily, avoiding looking at Nifa and especially Levi. She felt like an idiot. It was just some stupid note, and she almost fainted because of it. What a badass detective she was. "Sorry for worrying you."
"I understand if you want to drop this case," Levi told her, surprisingly soft.
"No!" Petra jumped from her sit. Nifa, who was hovering over her and measuring her pulse, gave Levi an angry look. "I just overreacted, but I'll be fine, I promise! I can take it!"
Levi watched her for a long moment, his eyes skeptic and doubtful.
"I can't always be there to protect you."
"I know.”
"And yet you still want to continue the investigation?"
"Yes," Petra answered without hesitation.
Levi kept staring in her eyes, as though searching for a sign of doubt. When he couldn't see any, he sighed and shook his head.
"There is nothing I can say that would change your mind, right?"
Petra nodded with a smile.
Levi cursed under his breath. "Tell me when you're ready. Rest for a while, and then we'll start the search."
"I can handle the investigation by myself today," Petra offered. "It's your day off after all."
Levi frowned. "I shouldn't leave you alone."
"I can go with her!" Nifa cheerfully exclaimed, putting a hand on Petra's shoulder.
"Don't you have to be at the lab?" Levi asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Nah," Nifa waved her hand. "I already came here at half past six, the boys can take care of the rest. Besides!" she turned to Petra. "I always wanted to take part in investigation. Oh, we're going to have so much fun!"
Petra couldn't keep a smile off her face, Nifa's excitement was infectious.
"Fine," Levi rolled his eyes. "Go together, but be careful. Do you have a gun, Petra?"
"Of course."
"And my phone number?"
"Yes."
“Good, if you see anything strange or suspicious, call me immediately. Deal?"
"Deal," Petra agreed. And before Levi left, she reached out to him. "Can we talk before you go?" she threw an apologizing look in Nifa's direction. "In private."
Levi tensed ever so slightly, but nodded without hesitation. "We'll be back soon," he said to Nifa and then turned around, leading Petra out of the cafe.
Before they left, he grabbed the granola bar Nifa brought to Petra.
Navigating through the crowd of policemen and curious pedestrians, Levi reached to his car. He opened the passenger door, gesturing for Petra to get in. Then he sat down in the driver's seat.
"Eat," he ordered, thrusting a granola bar into her hand. "And talk."
"Djel Sannes asked me to spy on you," Petra blurted out, shutting her eyes tightly. She was afraid to look at Levi's face. What if he gets angry? What if he is disappointed? What if he stops trusting her?
"Oh," Levi breathed out, surprisingly calm. "I didn't expect that. Did you agree?"
"What!" Petra opened her eyes widely. "Of course, not!" she exclaimed, but then paused, remembering their conversation with Sannes. Technically... "Well, truth be told, I did agree... But only to fool him! I'm not going to report anything to him!"
"You should," Levi said, shocking Petra even more.
"I... I don't understand."
Levi tiredly rubbed his forehead. "I need to discuss it with Erwin first, and I know I'm asking a lot of you..."
"Nonsense!" Petra cried out. "I'm on your side! And I really want to help!"
"Thank you," Levi told her earnestly. His eyes were a little softer than usual. It made Petra feel warmer.
"After what I just revealed..." she began uncertainly. “You still trust me? I could be working for him actually."
"No, you couldn't," Levi answered without an ounce of a doubt.
"And what makes you so sure?"
"Because you're a good person, Petra. And," a little smirk appeared on his lips. "You are a terrible liar."
Petra let out a surprised chuckle. She looked at Levi, feeling her smile grow wider. "So... What do you need me to do?"
"As I said, I need to talk with Erwin first, but... we could make a double agent out of you. You'll give Sannes some false information and then tell me his reaction. I need to know how much he knows."
"You can count on me!" Petra cheerfully promised. A moment later, however, a little frown appeared on her face. “By the way… why does he hate you so much?”
For a long moment, Levi was silent. His fingers drummed rhythmically at the steering wheel, as he appeared deep in thought. Petra was starting to think she won’t get her answers, but then Levi turned to look at her, staring right into her eyes.
“The trust should go both ways, I suppose,” he said. “I... found an informant. I don’t know who they are and I’ve never met them, but every once in a while, they bring me little messages with information. It’s the location of Sannes’ next deal, or a name of some politician who was bribed by him... that kind of stuff.”
“And these messages… they turn out to be true?”
“Every goddamn time. Sometimes I act on them, do whatever I can to stop Sannes’ dealings. Not always, of course, or Sannes would have me removed a long time ago. But he still suspects me, I guess.”
“Oh.” That was a lot to digest. "Oh!" Petra repeated, suddenly remembering. "Nifa is probably waiting for me! I should hurry!"
"Be careful!" Levi told her as she opened the door. "Don't forget to eat," he pointed with his chin at the granola bar she was still holding. "And call me if anything goes wrong, okay?"
"Of course!" Petra waved at him, and then ran back to the cafe.
Despite the worrying information Levi had revealed to her, she felt giddy and relieved, as she maneuvered between the pedestrians under the still going rain. He trusted her. Maybe, they’d be able to become real partners after all.
***
"I'm going to be honest with you," Nifa mumbled after taking a bite from a chocolate cake. "Today kinda sucked. I always thought that detective work was more exciting that just going around and asking people the same few questions."
Petra sighed. She felt exactly the same. They've spent the majority of the day, trying to find some witnesses, but were met with failure after failure. Now she and Nifa sat in break room at the forensics department, drinking tea and eating cake. Moblit was right after all, their tea collection was more than impressive. And Nifa's pastries were delicious.
“I'm sorry that I've dragged you into this," she told Nifa. "You're probably regretting your decision to accompany me."
"Oi, don't be ridiculous. It wasn't as thrilling as I hoped, but it was still better than being stuck in here."
"Huh?" Petra frowned. “You don't like working here?"
"No, don't get me wrong," Nifa answered. "I love my job, but I spend day after day, surrounded by dead bodies, and, more terribly, three boring nerds," she pointed to Moblit, Abel and Keiji, who were discussing something at the other side of the room. "So thank you for taking me with you," she smiled prettily. "I hope we'll become friends!"
"I would like that," Petra smiled back. Nifa was really nice. She would love to be friends with a woman like her.
"I hate to interrupt, ladies," Abel approached them. "But we'll be starting the dissection soon, so..."
Nifa groaned. "What do you need me to do?"
"No, no," Abel assured her with a nervous smile. "The three of us are more than enough for the job, but detective Ral probably isn't as used to smell as we are."
"Oh, of course, I didn't think about it. C'mon," Nifa took Petra's hand, dragging her upwards. "Let's go to your office then. I know where detective Ackerman hides his precious tea stash."
"You want to steal his tea? Won't we get in trouble with him?" Petra fretted, following Nifa out of the break room and up the stairs.
"Don't worry. If your partner wants to yell at me, he'll need to come down here first. Which I doubt he’ll do."
"I thought he visited your department a lot," Petra said with no small deal of confusion.
"Only when he needs an autopsy report or for us to look over some evidence. And he never stays for long."
"Oh."
"It wasn't like that before," Nifa noted sadly. "Before..."
"Detective Zoe's death?"
"Yeah,” Nifa shook her head. “Before that he frequently visited our department. He always complained about the smell," a wistful smile appeared on Nifa's face. "But usually, whenever detective Hange went, detective Ackerman followed. She always managed to bring him out of his shelf. Wait!" Nifa took out a phone from her lab coat. "You really need to see this!” she pushed Petra into an empty hallway, all the while searching for something on her phone.
"Found it!" she exclaimed, thrusting the phone in Petra's hands. She pressed play and cocked her head, hovering above the phone alongside Petra.
A video started to play. Whoever was recording it had really shaky hands, and the image wasn't in a good quality, but it was obvious that it was recorded in some kind of a bar.
"I took it two years ago. We just finished one extremely troublesome case and decided to celebrate with a night of karaoke," Nifa explained, as the camera focused on a small stage.
Three people were standing there, their hands wrapped around each other, as they struggled to keep themselves upright. One person in particular seemed painfully familiar.
"Is that..." Petra gasped, not quite believing her eyes.
"Yes, it's detective Ackerman, Сaptain Erwin and detective Hange," Nifa snickered, watching Petra's shocked expression.
Meanwhile, the first notes of "Don't Stop Believing" started playing. Immediately, Captain Erwin and detective Hange started singing. Erwin's voice was deep, and unsurprisingly, quite nice. However, the effect was somewhat ruined by his extensive slurring. Detective Zoe, on the other hand, wasn’t actually singing. It was more like she was screaming the lyrics into the microphone.
As soon as he noticed that Levi wasn't singing along with them, Captain Erwin nudged him. However, it had no effect at the other man, so Erwin redirected his gaze at Hange. She glanced at Levi and scowled, elbowing him in the side.
Someone in the background shouted "Detective Ackerman, don't be shy!", and Hange elbowed him again, leaning in to whisper something in his ear. Levi rolled his eyes and tugged Hange by the shirt down to his level, so he could reply to her. Whatever he had said made Hange threw her head back and laugh. For a moment, Levi was staring up at her, seemingly mesmerized, but then he shook his head and started singing. He was barely heard, since Captain Erwin's and Hange's voices were so much louder, but there was a soft look in his eyes and a small smile on his lips, as he watched his friends.
"I can't believe that it's the same Levi I know," Petra confessed after the video was finished.
"You should have seen him and detective Hange doing a power duet to “I Was Made For Loving You”. That was something,” Nifa giggled again. “Too bad I was too drunk to record it. So yeah,” she said, hiding the phone back into her pocket. "Detective Hange had an uncanny ability to make your partner more fun."
"Yeah, I wish I could see him act like this..."
"Oh gosh! I'm sorry for putting the mood down! Let's change the subject!" Nifa linked her hand with Petra's, as they started walking again. "Do you know any interesting gossip?"
"G-gossip?"
"Ah, I can see that you don't," Nifa shook her head in disappointment. "Alright then! Do you have a crush on someone from the precinct?"
"What!" Petra's cheeks flamed up. "Of course, not!"
"Liar," Nifa sang. "C’mon, you can tell me! I won't tell anyone!"
And before Petra could deny it any further, she noticed Oluo on the other side of the hallway. He noticed her too. Smiling happily, he hurriedly made his way to her and Nifa.
"Petra!" he greeted. "You didn't change your mind?"
"Of course, not," Petra assured him, ignoring Nifa's curious gaze.
"Awesome, I'll pick you up at seven!" Oluo’s smile grew wider. He waited for Petra to smile back and then left, still grinning from ear to ear.
"It looks like I've got my answer," Nifa's voice was full of smugness. "For how long have you been dating?"
"It's our first date," Petra revealed, deciding that it was easier to just tell Nifa everything she wanted to know.
"First date? How romantic! What are you going to wear?"
"Er," Petra glanced down at her dress. "I was actually going to wear this..."
"No!" Nifa's hands flew to her face. "You can't just come in your work clothes! Absolutely not! Change of plans," she announced, as she turned around, dragging Petra along with her. "We're going shopping."
"But! It's only three o'clock! Our shift has not ended!"
"Calm down," Nifa rolled her eyes. "No one will notice if we leave earlier. Besides, we've done a lot of work today. We deserve some rest."
"But—"
"No buts!" Nifa ordered with a strict face. "We need to hurry, you don't have much time left. It's your first date! Everything should be perfect!"
Petra surrendered with a sigh. Obviously, there was no point in arguing with Nifa. She obediently followed after her new friend.
***
"Look at you!" Nifa cooed, as she finished painting Petra's lips. "You're so pretty! Honestly, I'm starting to envy that Oluo guy. If the date ends up being horrible... well," she winked with a sly smile. "I can always make it better."
"Stop it!" Petra playfully smacked Nifa’s shoulder, blushing furiously.
"It's just an offer," Nifa shrugged. "But seriously, he'd be the biggest idiot in the world, if he doesn't ask you out on a second date," turning Petra around to face full-length mirror, Nifa smiled softly. "You look gorgeous, Petra."
"I..." Petra stared at her reflection, eyeing it critically. She wore a knee-length blue dress. It was simple, but the color accentuated her eyes nicely. Her hair was put up in a small bun with a few strands failing at the side of her face. She had to admit it - she looked good. "Thank you. It's all your doing."
"Nah, I didn't do anything."
"Don't say that!" Petra protested with a strict face. "You took me out for shopping, you helped me pick the dress, you even helped me with make-up and hair!"
"Alright, alright, I accept your gratitude," Nifa smirked cheekily. "And now I take my leave. Your date will be here soon," she turned around, walking out of Petra's room and heading to the front door.
"I had a lot of fun today," Petra admitted, while Nifa was putting on her coat. "We should do this more often."
"Absolutely," Nifa nodded in agreement. "Good luck with your date," she gave Petra a quick hug. "And be careful."
"Of course," Petra promised, returning the hug heartily. "Thank you once again."
"You really need to stop thanking me so much," Nifa scolded, but then smile was back on her face. She waved her hand. "Goodbye!"
Petra closed the door after her, and then walked back to her bedroom. She checked herself in the mirror once again. She nodded to her reflection, more than satisfied with her attire. Then she grabbed her purse, putting phone, keys and lipstick inside. Her gaze darted to a drawer, where her gun was hidden. Maybe, she should take it? Petra almost refused this idea, normal people don't bring a gun on a date. But then again, normal people don't receive death threats.
No one would know that I have it, she tried to reason with herself, but it would make me feel safer.
Ignoring the sensible part of her, Petra swiftly put the gun inside. She closed the purse, and then the doorbell rang.
She hurried to the front door, opening it. Oluo stood on the other side, holding a bouquet of daisies and smiling shyly.
"For you," he said, awkwardly handing her the flowers. He desperately avoided looking at her face. Petra smiled, charmed by his bashfulness.
"Thank you so much," she leaned in to give him a small peck on his cheek. The skin there immediately reddened. Petra giggled, as she took the flowers from his hands. Oluo's eyes instantly snapped to look at her.
He gasped.
"You look..." he cleared his throat, tugging nervously at the collar of his dark red shirt. "Good. Yes, v-very, um, good."
"You don't look so bad yourself," Petra looked him up and down, smirking slightly, when she saw that the blush on Oluo's face became a deeper shade of red, almost in tone to his shirt. She turned around to find a vase for the flowers. "Just a moment, please! I'm almost ready!"
"Just don't take too long," Oluo huffed. "We have a reservation."
The smile didn’t leave Petra’s face while she was putting the flowers into a vase. It seemed like the good old Oluo was back. Of course, she enjoyed watching his embarrassed face, but, as weird as it was, she liked his usual self much, much more.
Huh, Petra mused, as Oluo helped her put on a coat and she felt her heart rate increase, when their fingers brushed against each other, she really liked that idiot. Who could have thought?
***
"...And that's how I ended up cleaning the entirety of Erd's apartment," Oluo concluded, hanging his head in defeat.
“You really should stop making bets with him,” Petra rolled her eyes. “He’s clearly smarter than you.”
“Oi!” Oluo cried out, offended.
Looking at his pouting face, Petra started laughing. Gosh, she had never felt so relaxed while on a date. Usually, she was anxious, picking her words very carefully, worrying about her posture and make-up. But being on a date with Oluo was easy, talking and joking and teasing was almost natural. She didn’t remember the last time she enjoyed herself so much.
“So, now that I’ve told you all the embarrassing stuff that happened to me over the weekend,” Oluo drank from his glass of wine and looked expectantly at Petra. “What were you up to?”
“Well, you know,” she self-consciously tucked a stray lock of hair behind ear. “This and that.”
“C’mon!” he nudged her leg under the table. “You’re a detective now! And a partner of Levi Ackerman himself. Spill it out, Petra. How does it feel working with him? Is he as badass as everyone says he is?”
“He’s an ace detective, that’s for sure,” Petra said, remembering her first day and the way Levi cracked the case even before she went to question the suspect. "But sometimes..." Petra stared at her plate, mindlessly tossing the food around. "Sometimes I feel like he looks at me and sees someone else, you know? And he gets frustrated when that illusion is shattered."
"Oh. That must be tough for you," Oluo reached out and covered her hand with his.
"No, no, it's fine," Petra put on a smile. Oluo's gentle touch made her feel all fuzzy inside. "Despite all of this, I like working with Levi. He's really great at what he does. There is a lot I can learn from him."
"What about your case, though? I've heard it's really messed up."
"I..." Petra faltered, not knowing where to begin.
"You don't have to tell me, of course!" Oluo blurted out with a panicked expression, mistaking her uncertainty for unwillingness. "I mean, it's probably confidential and…"
"No, it's not that," Petra assured him. "You're not a civilian after all, and, besides, I trust you," Oluo's eyes softened at her words and he squeezed her hand a little tighter. Petra sent him a grateful look. "I just... it's so complicated, but maybe, you can help me. See something that I don't, you know?"
"Alright," Oluo nodded with determined face. "Tell me about it."
"So the whole case revolves around detective Hange Zoe? Levi's previous partner. On both scenes of murder, we found evidence that's directly linked to her... The glasses were confirmed to be hers, and Levi recognized her jacket that was draped over today's victim... And both scenes of crimes, the apartment complex and that little café, play a big role too. It’s clear that these places were important for Hange, and… for Levi. And!" Petra put her hands into her hair, getting more frustrated as she recalled more details from the case. "There are so many things that make no goddamn sense! Where do Zoe's things come from? What does the killer want from Levi?
Petra took a deep breath and then continued.
“And another thing! The first scene of the crime was meticulously cleaned, the woman had her throat slashed, but there was no sign of blood. The second was mostly clean, too, but blood wasn't cleaned out from the victim's clothes. So the killer goes out of his way to ensure that the scene of murder is clean, but he's clearly not obsessed with it. Then what is his deal? Is it just a habit? Why does he do that? Ah, just thinking about it makes my head spin! There is so much I don't understand."
Petra took a large gulp of wine, avoiding Oluo’s eyes. She probably told him too much, burdened him with her work problems. The first date shouldn’t go like this. You shouldn’t talk about murders. And to think that she didn’t even mention the most disturbing thing – the today’s note!
"Hey..." Oluo began to gently caress her hand. Petra looked up at him, and was shocked to see a proud smile on his face. "Don't beat yourself over it. You haven't made much progress, but you're trying. And, I think, you're asking all the right questions. Now all you need to do is to find answers."
"And that's the hardest part," Petra muttered bitterly.
"Maybe," Oluo agreed. "But you're smart, Petra, and, god knows, you're stubborn. You can do this. I believe in you."
"Oluo..." Petra whispered, her eyes filling with tears. "Thank you so much. I... I really needed to hear it today."
"Oi, c'mon, don't start crying on me," he bent over the table, wiping tears from her face. "You’re not crying, because the date is so terrible, right?"
"No," Petra shook her head, chuckling. "The date is perfect."
"So that's a guaranteed yes for a second one?" Oluo asked with a smirk on his face that was clearly put there to mask his nervousness.
"You know what?" Petra smiled widely. "That's a guaranteed yes for the third date too."
"Yes!" Oluo pumped his fist in the air, attracting attention from all the patrons at the restaurant. Some looked at him with amusement, while other's eyes were filled with annoyance.
"Now let's eat our delicious dinner," Oluo told her, already stuffing his face with pasta. "Now that I'm not afraid that my awful table etiquette will push you away."
"Oluo," Petra smirked. "We've worked at the same office for years. I already know that you eat like a pig."
"And yet you agreed to a date with me."
"And yet I did," she answered with a sweet smile.
***
"Don't take me home," Petra said, as Oluo started the car. He froze with his hand still on the ignition key, staring at her with an opened mouth and wide eyes.
"No!" Petra cried out, as it dawned on her, how Oluo might have interpreted her words. "I need to go to the precinct, and not, um, you know…"
"Thank god," Oluo muttered, as he drove out of the parking lot and onto the street. "Not that I'm against it!" he quickly added. "But let's not move too fast, yeah?"
"Yes," Petra smiled, happy that she and Oluo were on a same page.
"Wait a minute," Oluo fixed her with a suspicious gaze. "What are you going to do at a precinct? It's almost nine pm!”
"I was hoping... to get some work done?" Petra answered sheepishly. "Your words... kinda motivated me."
“Well, of course, they did. I’m an awesome guy,” Oluo said with a pride smirk that made Petra roll her eyes. He was absolutely ridiculous. But, good lord, did she like him. “But shouldn’t you go home and rest? Can they even let you in at that time?”
“If I tell them I need to work, I’m sure the security will gladly let me in. Besides, I’m not going to spend the whole night there, don’t worry. I’ll just look over the autopsy report and then head home.”
“Promise?” Oluo briefly looked away from the road to give Petra a careful look.
“Promise,” she replied, feeling her heart skip a bit. Oluo’s concern, even it was really unnecessary, was extremely endearing.
“Fine,” Oluo huffed. “Go and do your job, you workaholic,” he stopped in front of a precinct and hurried to get out, so he could open the door for Petra.
“Text me, when you get home, okay?” he took Petra by the hand, helping her get out of the car.
“Of course,” she said, reaching out to press a brief kiss on his lips. “I’ll be waiting for our next date,” she whispered, enjoying the dazed look on his face.
Still smiling from ear to ear, Petra entered the precinct.
***
That same dreamy smile was still present on her lips, as Petra made her way through the precinct. She reached the hallway, where their office was.
And the smile disappeared instantly. A cautious, almost worried expression took its place.
There was a light coming underneath the door to their office.
Who could be inside at such hour? Was it Levi? But it was his day off.
It didn't make sense.
Petra slowly reached into her purse and took out a phone, her eyes never leaving that little shimmer of light. With trembling fingers she dialed Levi's number. One beep... two... Petra anxiously waited to hear Levi's ringtone on the other side of the door.
The hallway was silent.
"Petra?" Levi's voice in her ear made Petra jump. She hurriedly backed away, taking a few steps away from the door. "Petra, do you hear me? Is everything alright?"
"There is someone in our office right now," she whispered. "It's not you, is it?"
"What the fuck are you doing at the precinct at night?" Levi asked angrily.
“I wanted to do some work…”
“Jesus—” it was obvious that Levi was pissed and wanted to yell at her, but he took a deep breath, calming himself down. "Doesn't matter now," he added in his normal voice. "I'll be there in ten minutes. Wait for me and don't go in there, understood?"
"Y-yes," Petra answered shakily.
"Don't do anything stupid." Levi warned and then ended the call.
Putting the phone back into the purse, Petra carefully took out a gun.
Levi would be there in ten minutes. It wasn't that long. She could wait for him. It would be a smart choice.
Unfortunately, Petra wasn't feeling particularly smart tonight. She gripped the gun more securely and quietly made her way towards the door. The clicking could be heard inside, as though someone was typing on a computer.
Petra narrowed her eyes, feeling angry. She just couldn't let some stranger, probably a criminal, go through their stuff. It was illegal. And her job was to protect the law. So ignoring her trembling knees, Petra busted the door open and immediately aimed her gun at the intruder.
Their face was obscured by strands of hair, as they stared intently at the computer screen.
"Freeze!" Petra shouted. Thankfully, her voice didn't waver.
It didn't, however, have much of an effect on the stranger. They continued typing something with an impressive speed. They didn't spare even a single glance in Petra's direction.
"I said freeze!" she repeated with more force.
"And what happens if I don't?" they asked in a deep voice, still not lifting their face. "Will you shoot me?"
"Breaking into detective's office is illegal!"
"Technically," the intruder finally looked up. Petra gasped as she took a good look on their face. The hand with a gun fell limply at her side. "It was my office too. Still is, considering that my desk is unoccupied."
Unbelievable. Impossible.
She looked a little different from the woman on the photo Petra found in Levi's desk. She looked older and more tired. There were wrinkles on her face. Her shoulders were slumped, as though an invisible force was dragging her down. There were deep, almost black circles under her eyes— well, eye. Her left one was covered with a black patch.
But even with all those changes, there was no doubt in Petra's mind as to who was sitting behind Levi’s desk.
"...D-detective Zoe?" Petra uttered, staring at Hange with wide eyes.
"Oh, they still remember me in here," Hange noted with a self-satisfied grin. "That's flattering."
"Y-you're alive?"
Hange chuckled, her eye sparkling with amusement. "You have excellent observation skills, detective."
"B-but! How?!" Petra cried out, ignoring the jab.
"Ah, that's quite a boring story. A really long one too, and, unfortunately, I'm in a hurry."
"Wait! You can't leave just yet! Levi— y-you have to see him. He'll be so happy to find out that you're still alive!"
The smile slipped from Hange's lips instantly.
"No," she said coldly. "He can't see me. And you can't tell him that you've met me, Petra."
"How do you know my name?" Petra asked with a deep, suspicious frown. She was sure she didn't introduce herself.
Hange turned her face away. "I know a lot of things," she nervously fixed her glasses. "I... watch over him."
"So you still care about Levi!" Petra pointed an accusing finger at her. "Then why don't you want to meet him?"
"I have my reasons," she sounded strained, almost desperate. It seemed like— seemed like Hange wasn't trying to convince Petra. She was trying to convince herself.
It was obvious that Hange wanted to reunite with Levi. Petra could see that desire in the poorly hidden pain at the bottom of her brown eye. In the hard line of her mouth. In her palms that squeezed the edge of Levi's desk so hard her knuckles turned white.
And it was obvious that there was something keeping her away from acting on that desire. Some conspiracy Petra couldn't even begin to understand. Some plot, set in motion long before Petra became a detective. Possibly even before Hange's ‘death’. But she didn't care about that. Nothing mattered for Petra as much as the sadness in Levi's eyes and her wish to make him happy.
Besides, whether Hange wanted to meet him or not, it wasn't important anymore. That choice was made the moment Petra crossed the threshold.
"Levi will be here soon," Petra stared straight at Hange. "I called him before entering the office."
"No!" Hange's face twisted with panic. "Why would you do that? Fuck, I need to go," she glanced back at the computer, typed a few more words and then rose to her feet.
She wanted to leave. Petra couldn't allow it.
She raised her gun, aiming it at Hange.
"He misses you so much," Petra whispered softly, trying to plead with Hange. "Please, just let him see you. Let him know that you're alive."
"No, I can't, no, not now," Hange ran a shaking hand through her hair. "I have to go."
She took a step forward, seemingly undisturbed by the fact that Petra's gun was trained at her.
"I can't let you go," Petra firmly planted her legs, staring up at Hange defiantly.
"What?" Hange lifted an eyebrow, giving Petra an unimpressed look. "Are you going to shoot me?"
"I won't hurt you," Petra promised. "But I'll do whatever it takes to make you stay."
"Oh, Petra," Hange shook her head. "You're a sweet, sweet soul. And it pains me to do this, but if you don't let me through, I'll have to fight you. And I will hurt you."
Petra anticipated that answer. She also knew that in a fight against Hange Zoe, she didn't have a single chance. It wasn't her wide shoulders, or muscles that were showing even beneath the oversized green shirt. It was years and years of experience that separated them. Hange was skilled, she was smart.
But Petra didn't have to win this fight, just hold out until Levi arrives.
Hange moved fast, so fast Petra was barely able to take a fight stance. She tossed the gun onto the floor and raised her arms, thinking that Hange would hit her in the face. But Hange approached her and laid her hand on Petra's shoulder. She was going to throw her onto the ground, Petra realized, but it was too late to move away. Hange lifted her leg, meaning to kick Petra.
She wasn't quick enough.
Their struggle was interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps. Hange tensed immediately, squeezing Petra's shoulder painfully.
"No." she whispered, her eyes filled with panic.
"Petra!" Levi shouted behind the door. “Where are you?”
"I'm here!" she screamed back, watching Hange carefully. All color left her face and her breath quickened, as she watched the door.
"Petra!" Levi threw the door open. "I told you not to fucking go… inside."
Levi's hand remained on a doorknob, as he froze on a spot, his eyes wide and mouth open.
"P-petra?" after several seconds of looking at Hange, he turned to her. His gaze, which usually held so much indifference, was now filled with implore. Petra helplessly stared back, not knowing what to say. Not knowing what Levi needed to hear.
"It's me," Hange said, understanding what Levi needed without words. "It’s really me."
"Hange," Levi breathed out. His voice was filled with so much relief and happiness. He ran to her, almost knocking her to the ground. Instantly his arms circled around Hange, as he held her in an almost suffocating embrace.
It must have been painful, Petra thought. But Hange didn't seem to care. She wrapped her hands around Levi just as tightly.
“Please tell me this is not a dream,” Levi asked in a shaking whisper. He lifted his head to stare at Hange. “Please tell me you’re really here.”
“I’m here, Levi,” Hange replied, almost choking as she said his name. “I’m here, with you.”
"You are alive,” Levi spoke fervently in her shirt. "Hange, you really are alive, I can’t believe it."
Hange moved one hand to Levi's head, stroking his hair gently. "You can't get rid of me that easily, shorty."
Levi softly chuckled, not making a single move to untangle himself from Hange.
They would probably stay like this for a very long time, Petra concluded. They more than deserved it. And they also deserved some privacy.
So Petra picked up the gun that was still lying on the ground and then quietly walked out of the room.
Before she closed the door, she threw one last glance at the still embracing couple.
So that was Hange Zoe, huh? A person, who can make Levi come completely undone with just her presence?
Petra smiled to herself. These two suffered for so long. She was glad that they finally managed to find each other again.

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
December 18, 2020
Heather Cox Richardson
A year ago today, the House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald J. Trump on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
In his plea to Senators to convict the president, Adam Schiff (D-CA), the lead impeachment manager for the House, warned “you know you can’t trust this president to do what’s right for this country.” Schiff asked: “How much damage can Donald Trump do between now and the next election?” and then answered his own question: “A lot. A lot of damage.” “Can you have the least bit of confidence that Donald Trump will… protect our national interest over his own personal interest?” Schiff asked the senators who were about to vote on Trump’s guilt. “You know you can’t, which makes him dangerous to this country.’’
Republicans took offense at Schiff’s passionate words, seeing them as criticism of themselves. They voted to acquit Trump of the charges the House had levied against him.
And a year later, here we are. A pandemic has killed more than 312,000 of us, and numbers of infections and deaths are spiking. Today we hit a new single-day record of reported coronavirus cases with 246,914, our third daily record in a row. The economy is in shambles, with more than 6 million Americans applying for unemployment benefits. And the government has been hobbled by a massive hack from foreign operatives, likely Russians, who have hit many of our key departments.
Today it began to feel as if the Trump administration was falling apart as journalists began digging into a number of troubling stories.
Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, appointed by Trump after he fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper by tweet on November 9, this morning abruptly halted the transition briefings the Pentagon had been providing, as required by law, to the incoming Biden team. Observers were taken aback by this unprecedented halt to the transition process, as well as by the stated excuse: that Defense Department officials were overwhelmed by the number of meetings the transition required. Retired four-star general Barry R. McCaffrey, a military analyst for NBC and MSNBC, tweeted: “Pentagon abruptly halts Biden transition—MAKES NO SENSE. CLAIM THEY ARE OVERWHELMED. DOD GOES OPAQUE. TRUMP-MILLER UP TO NO GOOD. DANGER.”
After Axios published the story and outrage was building, Miller issued a statement saying the two sides had decided on a “mutually-agreed upon holiday, which begins tomorrow.” Biden transition director Yohannes Abraham promptly told reporters: “Let me be clear: there was no mutually agreed upon holiday break. In fact, we think it’s important that briefings and other engagements continue during this period as there’s no time to spare, and that’s particularly true in the aftermath of ascertainment delay," a reference to the delay in the administration’s recognition of Biden’s election.
Later, the administration suggested the sudden end to the transition briefings was because Trump was angry that the Washington Post on Wednesday had published a story showing how much money Biden could save by stopping the construction of Trump’s border wall. Anger over a story from two days ago seems like a stretch, a justification after the briefings had been cancelled for other reasons. The big story of the day, and the week, and the month, and the year, and probably of this administration, is the sweeping hack of our government by a hostile foreign power. The abrupt end to the briefings might reflect that the administration isn’t keen on giving Biden access to the crime scene.
Republicans appear to be trying to cripple the Biden administration more broadly. The country has been thrilled by the arrival of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine that promises an end to the scourge under which we’re suffering. Just tonight, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized a second vaccine, produced by Moderna, for emergency authorization use. This vaccine does not require ultracold temperatures for shipping the way the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine does. Two vaccines for the coronavirus are extraordinarily good news.
But this week, as the first Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines were being given, states learned that the doses the federal government had promised were not going to arrive, and no one is quite sure why. The government blamed Pfizer, which promptly blasted the government, saying it had plenty of vaccines in warehouses but had received no information about where to send them. Then the White House said there was confusion over scheduling.
Josh Kovensky at Talking Points Memo has been following this story, and concluded a day or so ago that the administration had made no plans for vaccine distribution beyond February 1, when the problem would be Biden’s. Kovensky also noted that it appears the administration promised vaccine distribution on an impossible timeline, deliberately raising hopes for vaccine availability that Biden couldn’t possibly fulfill. Today Kovensky noted that there are apparently doses missing and unaccounted for, but no one seems to know where they might be.
Today suggested yet another instance of Republican bad faith. With Americans hungry and increasingly homeless, the nation is desperate for another coronavirus relief bill. The House passed one last May, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to take it up. Throughout the summer and fall, negotiations on a different bill failed as Republicans demanded liability protection for businesses whose employees got coronavirus after they reopened, and Democrats demanded federal aid to states and local governments, pinched as tax revenue has fallen off during the pandemic. Now, though, with many Americans at the end of their rope, McConnell indicated he would be willing to cut a deal because the lack of a relief package is hurting the Republican Senate candidates before the runoff election in Georgia on January 5. Both sides seemed on the verge of a deal.
That deal fell apart this afternoon after Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) with the blessing of McConnell, suddenly insisted on limiting the ability of the Federal Reserve to lend money to help businesses and towns stay afloat. These were tools the Trump administration had and used, but Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin tried to kill them after Trump lost the election. The Federal Reserve’s ability to manage fiscal markets is key to addressing recessions. Removing that power would gravely hamper Biden’s ability to help the nation climb out of the recession during his administration.
It’s hard not to see this as a move by McConnell and Senate Republicans to take away Biden’s power—power enjoyed by presidents in general, and by Trump in particular—to combat the recession in order to hobble the economy and hurt the Democrats before the 2022 election.
Money was in the news in another way today, too. Business Insider broke the story that the Trump campaign used a shell company approved by Jared Kushner to pay campaign expenses without having to disclose them to federal election regulators. The company was called American Made Media Consultants LLC. Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, was president, and Vice President Mike Pence’s nephew, John Pence, was vice president until the two apparently stepped down in late 2019 to work on the campaign. The treasurer was the chief financial officer of the Trump campaign, Sean Dollman.
The Trump campaign spent more than $700 million of the $1.26 billion of campaign cash it raised in the 2020 cycle through AMMC, but to whom it paid that money is hidden. Former Republican Federal Election Commission Chairman Trevor Potter is trying to take up the slack left by the currently crippled Federal Elections Commission. His organization, the Campaign Legal Center, a nonpartisan clean election group, last July accused the Trump campaign of "disguising" campaign funding of about $170 million "by laundering the funds" through AMMC.
This news adds to our understanding that Trump is leaving the White House with a large amount of cash. He has raised more than $250 million since November 3, urging his supporters to donate to his election challenges, but much of the money has gone to his own new political action committee or to the Republican National Committee. Recently, he has begged supporters to give to a “Georgia Election Fund,” suggesting that the money will go to the runoff elections for Georgia’s two senators, but 75% of the money actually goes to Trump’s new political action committee and 25% to the Republican National Committee.
Shane Goldmacher and Maggie Haberman at the New York Times note that are very few limits to how Trump can spend the money from his new PAC.

1k event masterlist
↞ back to attack on titan masterlist
The sound of your screams and the tears that flooded from your eyes was the last thing Levi saw when a titan had collided right into you. It had been quick, carefully thought out even, the way the horse was flung to the side and you almost looked ethereal in the sky. But it wasn’t some scene in a play where you would look magnificent, your blood curdling scream was what made everybody turn to look at you.
Turn and see a superior flung to the side, with blood seeping through your clothes. Your stomach churning at the impact, ready to be eaten. Levi saw it all, quickly slashing the neck of a titan before running to the titan, it gripped your body as your legs kicked and your mouth screamed. Tears mixed with blood dampened your skin, this was it for you. This was what everything had come down to, the titans mouth opened wide, you could almost see the other humans in its stomach. You closed your eyes ready for the tear of your legs, but it never came.
Instead the crushing of your bones, the excruciating pain you went through as the titan may have been slashed by Levi, may have begun toppling to the ground. But in its last-ditch attempt to kill you, it squeezed your body, bones crushing and moving out of place, blood trickling down your mouth. If it couldn’t have you neither could Levi.
“Y/n, you…” Levi was about to ask about your condition, but the way you were sprayed onto the palm of the titan, blood coughing from your mouth, bruises forming and pain searing through you. He knew something was wrong, you both were so close to having killed the titans, there had only been a couple left. You could survive this, get the treatment you needed, but as he ran up to you, grabbing your body he could almost feel your pain.
“L…Levi.” You coughed out more blood, he hated seeing you like this, in his arms vulnerable, he was vulnerable. What could he do, other than hold his love.
He shifted your body from the titans palm, you both in a safe area away from the others. “You’re going to be fine.” There wasn’t a question about it, you’d survive, you’d be fit and ready to go on the next expedition, he didn’t care.
“I’m d…dying.” You could barely form words, but if this was your last moments you were glad it was with your love rather than inside a Titans gullet.
Levi watched as tears fell down your numb body, he took a deep breath, he knew it was hard for him to express emotions. Express himself to you, but he looked up in the sky, suppressing any forming tears that could come out, he wanted to be strong for you. “No, yo…you won’t.”
“Tell me our story.” You were going in and out of your own mind, you didn’t want to fight over your death, you wanted to hear your story. The story of Y/n and Levi and how they were supposed to rule the world, fight titans and finally gain the peace that they deserved.
He saw how you shut your eyes just wanting to hear any story, there was no time to help you. He had to give you your last wish, explain your story if it was the last thing he did. “Okay.” He held you in his arms, kissing your forehead with warmth. “We met a couple months after you joined the scouts, you were so confident, remember…
“Is this the famous Captain Levi, I’ve heard so much about.” Levi eyes you up and down at how easily you made yourself at home with him, he raised an eyebrow as he folded his arm.
You stared at the man a smirk as you tilted your head waiting for a reply, “if you’re going to act like you don’t know who I am, then I have no business with you.” He was ready to walk away but you grabbed his arm, making him stop in his tracks. “What brat?”
“So rude, you’re the one who asked for me to join your squad.” Levi was the one to be confused as he looked at you with a puzzled look, “you asked for the girl who got first in the scouts, that’s me.”
“You?” He looked at you with no emotion.
“Don’t need to be so mean, I’m really am quite good.” You spoke highly of yourself, Levi hated those who had no actual experience to back them up.
He tapped his food in thought before replying, “we’ll see, get ready, you’ll be right next to me.”
“Gosh not even an apology.” He glared as you shrugged leaving him to tut in disgust, he’d have to sort that attitude out for sure. You had thought that joining a squad so easily and especially Levi’s squad would be an honour. But after his words it felt more like a low blow at how he didn’t recognise your talent, he looked down at you and you already had a will to prove him wrong.
“…God, you really hated me back then didn’t you.” Levi looked down at your nimble self, blood spewing down your mouth. You nodded trying to put out a laugh but could barely even lift your eyelids back up.
“Te…Tell me more.” Your words were short and breathless, he saw tears continue to trickle down, he didn’t know how long you had left, he witnessed more titans collide to the ground. Even if he had brought you back to the scouts, they couldn’t do anything until all the titans were defeated. You’d be another corpse on the long list, he’d give you these minutes, these moments to die without having a line in your name.
“You pestered me afterwards, on the expedition you showed off all those tricks and killed so many titans, but I never told, but I admired it my love, admired the way you did everything for humanity you didn’t fear death, I fell in love with you because you weren’t selfish like the others…
Levi had asked for you to come by his office after coming back from town, it had been a couple months since the expedition, and you had grown fond of the boy. He may have given you snide remarks, but the small upwards twitch of his mouth proved that he didn’t hate you as much as he let on. You knocked on the wooden door as you heard a come in, easily slipping between the cracks.
You couldn’t lie and say you hadn’t become infatuated with the man either, the way he killed titans and swung through the air always felt like your own private show. Even now here, with his watchful eyes at your movement towards his desk, he gave no emotion, but his eyes spoke differently, inviting you in almost. “What can I do for you, Captain?”
“Sit down.” He was stern with his words which you easily followed as you crossed your legs staring at him. “You’ve been working with Mike a lot lately.”
It wasn’t something you had expected, and you almost laughed at his accusations, “what about it?”
“I prefer my squad to work together rather than separately.” His sentence was filled with mystery as if he wanted to say more.
You felt confident in what you believed him to be saying, it had been Hanje who planted the idea that Levi preferred you more than he did other humans. But preferred was a stretch of the word that you had thought of, could he possibly like you, the way you liked him. “Captain, this isn’t about working together is it, are you jealous?”
“No.” He was blunt about it but refused to meet your gaze, you stood up moving closer to his seat, you leaned against his desk, eyes on his form as he looked at the papers in front. Rather than the side where your watchful eyes were.
“You don’t need to lie to me Levi, but if you really don’t, I was just about to go spend some time with Mik…” Levi grabbed your wrists stopping your words, he finally looked up at you. He moved his chair to be in front of you, his body between your legs, before grabbing your jaw.
“You leave this room and I’ll make you regret it.” Your chest felt heavy as you leant down to meet his mouth, his mouth feeling warm against your own as you both moved in sync with one another.
“…I fell in for you from that moment Y/n.” He looked back down at you, your body feeling heavy on his thighs.
You looked up at him, finally being able to open your eyes as you looked at him wanting to speak and tell him how much you loved him. “I…I…” You began coughing again, worry radiating off of Levi, “you told me…on our first date that we’d be toge…together forever.”
“We will.” Levi lied to make himself feel better, to make himself believe that this was all a dream. He had lost too many people, his mother, his friends and comrades he couldn’t, he couldn’t lose his one love. The one person he had sworn to protect, to save from this disgusting world.
“For…forever wasn’t long enough...” You whispered feeling empty inside, tears soared out as you looked through the dampness right up at Levi. He looked down and for the first time you witnessed the tears, how he tried to hide them with an emotionless face. But they were there.
He brought his head down to meet your own, forehead resting against your own, “we’ll get our happiness next time…I promise my love.”
You felt his tears fall onto your own skin, feeling your body begin to shut down, your eyes feeling heavy as Levi bent down to your lips to give you one last kiss. To give himself one last kiss, you were always going to be it for him, nobody would ever replace you.
And as he finally parted from your damp lips he heard the last words, he had never wanted to hear, never wanted to imagine coming from your lips. Your arm falling to the grass, body heavy and eyes shut as you whispered the words that brought about the end, “goodbye my love.”
Tears pricked down Levi’s face; he hadn’t expected it from himself. He thought he could stay emotionless but as he held your corpse in his arms, bringing you closer to his body, he remembered every second he had spent with you, loving you and how he was never going to get that ever again.

Hidden: Chapter 12
Chapter 12: Heartbreak, Glory, and Unholy
(Mikasa’s Pov)
The streets became a war zone. How ironic? The raven haired assassin uses her ODM gear to fly through buildings. She noticed a familiar face at a pile of rumbles. Gabi Braun was removing the destroyed house. Mikasa landed on the ground to check on her.
“Gabi? Are you ok? What happened?” her tone was worried for the young girl.
“Mikasa? Mikasa, you’re here. I’m glad you are here. I need your help. The bomb destroyed this neighborhood and my parents and auntie are under the pile. Please help me to get them out.” Gabi ran to her and hugged her tightly. The young girl was in tears.
“I’m glad that you’re not hurt.” Mikasa hugged back to comfort her. “Of course, I’ll help you. We’ll get them out.”
Gabi gave a faint smile and let go of Mikasa while resuming digging on the pile. Ackerman goes to lift up the heavy ones. Soon, they saw three bodies. Gabi’s parents and Reiner’s mother.
“Mom and dad! Wake up!” The brunette cried out. They didn’t respond. Gabi checked their pulses, but as she feared none of their pulses was detected.
“N-no my parents they can’t be dead?” the girl sobbed from realizing her loss.
“I’m so sorry, Gabi….you shouldn’t feel the loss of your parents.” This breaks her heart. Just seeing Gabi grieving, it hits her home. Then both girls saw a small movement. They glanced to see Ms. Braun groaned in pain. “G-gabi? My niece, shouldn’t you be with your comrades?” Ms. Braun coughs from struggling to breathe. Her blood spat out from the coughs.
Reiner’s mother feels her legs crushed. Her lungs had collapsed from the big chunks crushing her chest. The older woman barely hangs on to her life. She knows deep down she only has a few minutes left before Death takes her away.
“Yes, yes I’m here auntie. I have my friend, Mikasa. She will help you and we’ll go to Reiner.” The little girl held her aunt's hand carefully.
“Mikasa? Mikasa Ackerman? Girl, come here so I can take a good look at you.” Her voice was wheezing. Mikasa obeys the dying woman.
“It’s nice to officially meet you Ms. Braun. I wish we had met in a better circumstance.” Mikasa stared at the older woman.
“You are a beauty. My son must be lucky. Tell him I love him. I don’t think I would make it soon.” She coughed again.
“No, don’t say that. We’ll get you out of here and find a hospital to treat you. You can leave Reiner alone along Gabi. They need you.” Mikasa trying to encourage her things will be ok.
“You silly girl. I have not much time left so let the dying woman say her final words.” Ms. Braun chuckled weakly.
Gabi’s tears shed more from hearing what her aunt had said. Mikasa was struggling not to shout and convince her that she needed to be strong. This feels familiar when Carla Jaeger was crushed under her home until a titan saw her and ate her. Now. Mikasa cried because what will she tell Reiner? That his mother died and she couldn’t do anything about it to save her? Oh god, she wants to shed blood on the ones responsible. How many people’s lives need to lose in order to win a war and have peace? Could for once the world be beautiful enough to enjoy it?
“Auntie! Don’t leave me...and Reiner….I can’t be alone. Soon all of you will leave me.” Gabi screamed in agony at the thought of losing all her family members. As a warrior trainee, she will be under responsibility of the military.
“My sweet warrior please listen to me. We’ll be in your heart to protect and guide you, just remember that. I love you so much and your parents love you very much. We are all so proud of you for your accomplishments.” She said.
Mikasa listens to the conversation between aunt and niece. Then Ms. Braun began to speak to her.
“Mikasa, promise me you will make my son happy...his feelings for you are deep. If you have no feelings for him, give him a chance. He is a good man and honorable.” She pleaded.
“I already...we confessed how we feel about each other. I promise to be there with him until his time..” The Asian woman made her promise.
“I’m grateful to hear that. I may not get the chance to see my future grandchild, but please give my son a child. This is my dying wish and take Gabi under your care. She deserves to have a better childhood. Promise me, Mikasa.” Ms. Braun gasped for air until she drew her last breath and passed away.
“I-I p-promise, Ms. Braun.” Mikasa’s tears fell and closed the older woman's eyes. Gabi cried on Mikasa’s chest while the raven haired woman held her tightly as both cried.
After they calmed down, both females got up to start heading to find Reiner or Armin and Annie who had arrived at night time from the other side of the world.
“Let’s go find a cousin or my friends.” Mikasa grabbed a gun for Gabi to use it. “You know how to shoot right?” She asked.
“Gabi nodded. “Yeah, we learned from our training.” The little girl grabbed it and held it like a true soldier.
“Alright, use it when necessary. I don’t have a lot of bullets, but we’ll find one on the way.” Mikasa watched the girl then both begin to walk away from the grim scene. They need to survive this hell. Mikasa will protect Gabi with her life. That’s a promise.
(Eve)
Since the day at the festival, both Eve and Eren had a hard time keeping their hands to themselves. Everything felt like those romantic traveling movies. She felt like in a fairytale. Eren was perfect in her eyes. All they did was walk around the town and have those crazy love makings. Everything was great until rumors of an attack at the capitol. People prayed for the safety of their loved ones who lived there and the queen.
Both couples were laying on the bed thinking their own thoughts. “I think I have to leave.” This made Eve glance at him.
“Wait what? Leave where?” Eve frowned.
“Into hiding before these new enemies come find me.” Eren already begins to get up and gather his clothes.
“Why would they want to find you? Eren what did you do?” The brunette woman sat up.
“That’s confidential.” He said.
“So that’s it then. You’re going to leave and pretend this didn’t happen?” Her grey eyes began to get watery.
Eren had his back facing her. “Yes, it's just fun while it lasts, but I need to focus on my purpose.”
Just hearing his words, breaks her heart. How could he be so cruel? All those sweet words and promises were nothing but lies. It may be short but it felt like their relationship was longer than it seems.
“Please Eren...don’t leave. Whatever your purpose is, we can do it together. I need you...I want you.” She got up to go in front of him to stop him.
“Eve, don’t make me do this the hard way.” To be honest, this is killing Eren also. He wants to protect her from what is coming soon. Those few weeks since their first meet, slowly they were falling for each other.
“Take me with you, please. I can’t be without you. I know it’s so soon but I’m in love with you.” Her tears kept falling. She gripped on his shirt.
“I know you feel what I am feeling too. You love me as much I love you. Don’t break my heart please, my love.” Her lips already started to leave kisses on his neck and lips to show him how much he means to her.
Why is she making this difficult? If he takes her with him, she could get killed. He prefers to have her alive and safe. Of course, what he was doing is hurting him too.
Damn it, she is going to hate him.
“Eve stop this now.” He grabbed her wrists to have her away from him. “At least have dignity.” His tone became cold.
“Why? Baby, don’t do this to me.” Her tears fell hard.
“Forget what we had. There was never us. I was just a lonely man who wanted comfort on my bed.” Her heart dropped from what he said. All long he was using her to satisfy himself?
“You jerk! How can you do this to me? I opened up my heart for you and you just take it? So you have never loved me like you claimed? How dare you play my heart you asshole?” She began to yell at him. This pain is too much. She was a fool. Eve had fallen into the same trap as her previous relationships. She thought he was different, but clearly was too dumb to see the signs.
“Don’t take this too personal, Dollface. I am a man with needs and your body fulfills that. You should consider using your talented skill into a professional business. I hear whores make a lot of money if they are exotic and talented.” He smirked to make this act work.
Eve gave a glare that’s so familiar to him. The only ones who pulled it off are Mikasa and Levi Ackermans. Before he was about to say more, his cheek was stinging from the slap she gave him.
“I hate you. I hate you so much; yet I still love you, you bastard!” The heartbreak was too much for her. She falls on her knees from her body trembling with so much emotions.
Eren glanced down at the woman he loves dearly. He can’t believe this was the only way to keep her safe and away from him. What he was about to do is placing his palm on her forehead. Since She has Eldian blood in her veins. He can erase her memories of him and their heavenly time together. It’s for the best. Maybe one day he’ll have her back.
Eve tried to remove his hand away from her, but she felt a static on her body as Eren erased her memories of him for good. After the deed was done, he walked away leaving her with a blink look.
“I’m sorry...I love you, Eve.” He whispered low enough for him to hear as he exited the room.
When Eren left her alone in the room, Eve stared at the door where he exited. What he did know, Eve still has her memories of him. After all Ackermans are immune from the power of the Founding titan. Her true identity was not Eve. Well, it’s her middle name. Her true name is Natasha Eve Ackerman and her grandparents are Historia Reiss and Levi Ackerman. Yeah, Eve came to the past...accidentally. The most reckless thing she ever did was fall in love with the Earth devil aka Eren Jaeger.
(Historia)
The young queen was on a loveseat while the maids did her hair. She was already bathe, dressed in her white wedding dress, and had done her makeup but lightly.
“Your majesty, you look so beautiful. Your king will be pleased.” One of the maids said.
No no can they just shut up. He is not her king. He will never be her king. That belongs to Levi. He is her king, the king of her heart. The one thing she was grateful for was that her son had escaped safely. At least, she can focus on trying to escape or kill him. Oh Walls, she misses her sweet little boy. Barely a few hours born and already the queen is separated from her baby. She misses Levi so much. Soon, she will reunite with her boys to be as a family they are meant to be.
“All ready, my queen.” Another maid said with happiness while another one grabbed a mirror to show how she looked in the reflection.
Historia glanced at the reflection, but felt unamazed. She hated it. This was not her dream wedding.
“I see.” Her tone was mono and uninterested.
Before one of the maids said something, a knock on the doors appeared. One of them opens the doors. “Is the bride ready? His Majesty is waiting at the altar along with our guests.” The messenger said.
“She is ready now.” The door opened wider for the man to enter.
“Your majesty, it’s a pleasure meeting you in person. You are a beauty that rivals Our three goddesses. I’ll be your escort to the citadel. Our King is awaiting his queen.” He smiled from meeting the Queen Historia.
Historia gets up. “Let’s get this over with.” She walked to exit the room which the man quickly followed her behind.
When exited the palace, another machine cart or what these invaders called a car was parked in the pathway of the palace ground. It’s similar to the other car that kidnapped her from the Orphanage property.
The gloomy bride hesitated to enter the vehicle as the backseat door was opened for her. For a woman that just gave birth, she was holding herself together. Even with makeup it doesn’t conceal her pale face. Historia felt scared, but her escort gently pushed her in.
“Your majesty, we must go quickly. It’s improper to make the guests wait for the bride taking too long.” he said.
Historia felt tears fall from her eyes as she slid into the car. The man gets in after her and closes the door. The car begins to drive to downtown plaza of the city of Mitras.
As she stared at the window from the car, the view was like a nightmare. Fallen soldiers laying on the ground dying. The streets were covered in blood. Some civilians were in distress from the scene. Smokes coming out of a few buildings. The queen began to breathe in and out panicky. Why? Just why, must there be good men and women dying in vain? This is not the reign she wants to be a part of. A true ruler will put their people first instead of their personal agenda.
“Why...why is he so cruel? This nation is already worrying about another war but with Marley. My people shouldn’t be suffering. Nobody shouldn’t.” She looked down. The blonde haired woman couldn’t look at the scene.
“I agree, but we must preserve our strength so you can rise up and bring peace again.” The man said. He tries to comfort the crying woman.
“You’re not one of Evans’ loyalists? Or Templars?” Her blue eyes glanced at him.
“No, I’m an assassin that’s undercover. I’m on this mission when Mentor Miles and the rest of the brotherhoods arrived on this island many months ago. He assigned me to join the templar as a spy. Don’t worry Queen Historia, I informed the Mentor that you're alive and well.” The assassin said.
Her eyes widened with hope. “Tell me...is my son safe? Did Commander Hange have my son in custody?”
“The prince is safe, my queen. I received a message from the mentor before they departed to their hideout.” He reassured her.
A sigh of relief came from her. Her little angel is with the people she trusts. She wonders if Levi knew their son was born. Has he met him?
“What about Levi? Has he met his son yet?” She said.
“No, the captain left around 3 am to get to you in the morning.” He sighed and shook his head. Historia nodded and felt sad. He probably doesn’t know what’s going on yet? Or maybe he does and is on a rampage.
The car finally stopped. She looked at the window to see the entrance of the citadel where the wedding ceremony will take place.
“I don’t want to go..” Historia whispered.
“I’m sorry your majesty...I don’t want you to go in there too, but keep up the appearance as an obedient queen until we strike. I promise you it will be long.” He encouraged her which she sighed in understanding. She has to do this. For her son, for former comrades, for her friends, for the people of Paradis and for her husband, Levi.
“What’s your name if I may ask?” Historia waits for someone to open the door since it;s protocol and also she doesn’t know how to open this metal fancy cart.
“My name is Reignald Garcia, your Majesty, but Reggie it’s what most called me.” he said.
“Thank you, Reggie for reassuring me. I need that. I don’t know who to trust at the moment.” Historia glanced at the assassin.
“No problem your majesty. I wish you luck.” He gave her a smile.
Historia nods and the door is open for her. She grabs another escort’s hand to get out of the car. Few armies guard her as they lead her to the main double doors. Finally the doors open and she takes one last breath. The queen steps into the citadel to wait for her doom.
As she enters, all eyes are on her. The citadel is full of people. Carefully she notices very familiar noble families. She doesn’t know whether they betray her or they were forced. Historia stare at each one of the nobles and priests because once she holds her power as queen, they will answer their loyalty towards her. If any signs showed their betrayal to her and the government and people, all hell will lose.
The music church sound began and everyone stood up. The bride slowly walked down the aisle. This time she held her chin up. She will play her part then when the time is right, she will strike and bring them down.
(Levi)
Levi reached the city of Mitras. He noticed the streets were being cleaned up from an attack. There were guards that were not from either military regiment. His instincts were telling him to stay hidden. The captain avoided the guards passing by to patrol. He got to the headquarters to notice, no one was there. It was empty. Thank god, he knows where to go if something like this happens. Quickly, Levi led his horse back out of the city to find the hideout.
The area was surrounded by trees as he galloped through the forest. It took Levi twenty minutes to reach his destination. In his view, a cabin appeared. The raven haired man could see people there. Most were the assassins but he saw Four- Eyes there with a tiny human that she’s carrying. Why did they bring a baby with them? What are they babysitters?
He was finally at the cabin. The short man got off his horse and had the horse being tied where food and water are already displayed for the horses. Commander Hange glanced to see Levi here.
“Levi! I’m glad you’re here. A lot has happened in 24 hours.” She was interrupted.
“Hange, I know shitty things have happened in the capital, but I just got back from the Orphanage. Those bastards burnt down the property. Luckily, most of the children had escaped and hid, but they killed off the adults. H-historia was taken and...I need to find her. She’s in danger. The baby….I can’t fucking lose them. I swear I will kill them all.” He felt his anger arise again. Then the crying of the baby stopped him talking.
“I understand your pain, Levi but we have someone undercover keeping an eye on the queen. Please try to calm down, your kid can sense your anger.” Hange looked at the baby who was still crying.
“Shitty Glasses, what are you talking about? My kid hasn’t been born yet. Historia is still pregnant.” The captain was confused. He stared at the baby.
“Well, she gave birth in Lord Evans’ estates. One of the girls who works for the midwife sneaks your son out because he’s in more danger. So Levi, meet your boy, Atticus Ackerman. Isn’t he a cutie? He looks like you only with Historia’s blue eyes.” She showed the baby to Levi.
He glanced at the baby to notice those familiar blue eyes. They are definitely Historia’s. He can’t believe it; his child is here. His heart gave a squeezed feeling for missing the birth of his son. Wow, he has a son. Now Levi doesn’t know what to do.
“Atticus? I-I don’t know where to start.” He said.
“It’s ok, you can start by carrying him. I think he senses you’re his papa.” Hange carefully placed Atticus on Levi’s arms while the baby stopped crying.
“See he wants his daddy.” She grins while watching Levi cradling his newborn son.
Levi was lost in admiring his child. He and Historia had created this innocent angel. He will do what it takes to protect his son. As a new father, Levi is scared of screwing his kid’s life. Atticus starts to smile and let out a cute giggle. Hange felt her heartbeat with joy. This is one of the rare moments seeing Levi smiling. She is happy for her friend as another good thing was given to him.
“Atticus, my son...I’m sorry you were born in this shitty moment but I will promise you. I give you the best life you deserve. You and your mother will have the best life I’ll give. I love you; be strong.” The captain has leaned closer to kiss his son’s tiny forehead.
“Zoe...do you know where my grandfather is? I need his help to send Atticus away from this island.” He looked up at his friend and commander. The commander rarely heard him calling her by her first name.
“Yeah, he’s inside. Let’s go in and talk about sending Atticus to America.” She walked back into the cabin which Levi followed her while carrying his child. Levi doesn’t want to be separated from his child. He just met him. As the war just started, his boy is not safe here. He won’t risk his son’s life.
William was busy on his laptop. He was in contact with Shaun on Zoom.
“Everything is a mess here. It’s technically a war zone. We’re lucky enough to escape before we get amush.” The Mentor sigh.
“Wow that sucks. I’m not surprised the Templars are capable of conquest. Do you plan to get more recruits? You don’t have enough men and women to fight.” Shaun said on the other side of the laptop.
“I have three of the new members, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlet and Annie Leonhart; to go to Marley and get recruits or allies.” Will said.
“Huh? One of them has the same last name as your grandson, Levi.” Shaun said.
“Yes, she’s a distant cousin of his. Marley is also being under attack too. The queen is the hostage of the Order. She just gave birth to my great grandson. Thank god there were some people who have a heart to help escape the boy. He’s now safe and sound with us.” Will hasn’t had time to process what had happened. He was glad Hange is more alert on surprise attacks.
“Congrats on being a great grandfather now.” The blonde man chuckled from the screen.
“Thank you. I hope Levi arrives soon.” Just when he mentions his grandson’s name, Levi and Hange enter the dining room.
“Oh neverminded he’s here.” The older man smiled seeing Hange and Levi especially holding Atticus in his arms.
“Grandfather, I need that favor I told you about if it comes to this.” Levi said vaguely.
“Oh that favor. Of course, we can get a plane here to have Atticus escape. We’ll need someone who can be trusted to take care of the baby.” Will remember what Levi meant.
“As long it will get him out of danger.” The captain stared at his son who’s making cooing sounds.
“Excuse me, Levi. Hi, I’m Shaun Hastings. One of the best tactical guidance in the Brotherhood. It’s a pleasure meeting you, Levi Ackerman. I can help out to make a safe trip for your kid.” Levi heard the laptop talking and raised his brow at his grandfather in confusion.
“It’s one of my fellow members of the brotherhood from America that I’m speaking to on my laptop.” William explained which Hange’s sparkled with intrigue.
“Wait, you can communicate far away with this laptop thing?” She goes behind Will to see a man on the screen.
“Can you? I don’t want anything bad to happen to him. I’m putting him under your responsibility. Got it?” Levi was now on the other side next to Will while talking to Shaun.
Shaun was annoyed the way Levi acts towards him. Obviously, Levi doesn’t care. He’s itchy for using his blades on the templars, Lord PrettyBoy, and Zeke. Oh he has plans for both of them when he sees them.
“Oh don’t mind Levi. He’s just overprotective since he’s a new father.” Hange said to Shaun. The British man nodded and let it go.
“Will, just say the word and I’ll get a plane to you guys.” Shaun already begins to use his connections to find a good plane availability.
“Get a plane and we’ll get someone taking care of Atticus.” William said. Levi and Hange were focused on the baby.
Later as the hours got dark, few selected assassins joined Levi who had his son on his arm while riding the horse to the location where the plane landed at an open spot in the woods.
When they get there, the new father hops off his horse. He looked at a figure besides him.
“Blouse, you’re in charge protecting him. Can you do that? You will have all the necessary things in his diaper bag. The rest of the stuff is at the location. I’m leaving my son under your care. I’m counting on you. If anyone threatens him or you, shoot them.” He gave his orders to his subordinate.
She gave her salute. “Sir, I won’t fail you.”
He nodded and gave the diaper bag to her then his son who’s asleep. Before both Sasha and the baby depart, Levi kisses his forehead on last time. He steps away from them as Sasha gets into the plane while holding Atticus. The captain watched the plane leave and the area became silent.
It’s for the best Host. Our offspring will be safe. Let’s focus on getting our mate back. I’m drenching for vengeance.
“Tch. Let’s go.” Levi orders the rest of the crew to get back to their hideout. His eyes glowed silver. He kept hearing the mumbles Iapetus will do to Zeke and Prettyboy.
(Reiner)
They made it into the base hospital where Pieck is now being treated for her gunshot wounds. The rest of the small group were waiting outside.
“Thank god, we made it in time to save Pieck.” Porco sighs in relief.
Reiner agrees with Porco. He doesn’t want to lose another comrade. He didn’t imagine this war will be against their favor and it’s not just them being invaded, Paradis and other neighboring nations are being invaded by these hungry conquerors. The Marleyans hadn’t felt this helpless since the Eldian Empire. This time it’s not their descendants it’s these unknown groups called themselves the Order of Templars.
At least, they know the identity of their invaders. If Reiner can find any surviving higher officials, maybe they will consider to ally the Paradis and these other groups called the Brotherhood of Assassins. They know more about the templars. What Armin and Annie told them was both factions were hidden from the world. It’s difficult to find information about these two societies. They are considered ancient since the dawn of humanity. Not everything that they knew of their history was true. The Marleyan Warriors had a hard time grasping these new facts. All their lives, they were taught the history of their ancestor’s sins and how they need to atone from the past mistakes.
“We need to find a higher up at least in these bases.” Reiner said.
A Marleyan soldier ran towards the group. The man was in his prime 20s. He glanced at Armin and gasped. “Deputy Chief Braun, we were looking for you. Lieutenant Romos has summoned you. By the way, why is the Paradisan devil here?” He glared at Armin which Annie was ready to act in order to protect her lover. Yes, Armin is capable of protecting himself, but she will not risk it.
“He’s here because he along with another Paradisan have valuable information to deal with our new enemies.” He glared at the Marleyan soldier. “As of now he and Mikasa Ackerman are under my protection as Deputy Chief of the Marley’s Warriors.”
“I see very well, I’ll let my superior make his judgement. Come, he doesn’t have patience at the moment, and you can bring the rest of the group with you.” He turned around to head back.
Reiner and the rest of the gang started heading in that direction. Once they reached where Lt. Romos is located. The man was in his 40s with heavy dark under eyes. His wrinkles were visible from the stress and weather made him aged too fast. Lt. Romos was busy looking at a map while being surrounded by the remaining of the troops besides the ones fighting at the frontline protecting their base.
The Marleyan soldier saluted his officer which Lt. Romos turned around to stare at the soldier. Not that far, he saw Reiner, Porco, Annie, and Armin entering the strategy room. “Ah Deputy Chief Braun, I’m glad you’re alive. I’m sure you understand what’s going on. We don’t know this foreign invaders, but they were hiding under us for a long time to ready to strike. We found out our leaders who were assigned at the shoreline base are dead. It’s just you and I.” Lt. Romos grabbed a paper to hand to Reiner. “Here before Commander Hugos died, he left this last order towards you. I suggest reading out loud for the troops to hear the Commander’s final wish.”
Reiner nodded and took the paper and read what it said. He was shocked at what his late commander’s order was.
Dear Deputy Chief Reiner Braun,
The council and I have hereby to grant you honorary citizenship as a Marleyan. You and your family will be treated as citizens with military benefits. For your loyalty and service to this great nation, Marley. As now you’re an honorary citizen; I, Commander Hugos of the Marley army of all regiments anoint you as my successor if I died in action or incapable of acting as commander. For any soldiers speaks out or disobeys your commands; they will be labelled as traitors and be held in trials under a suitable sentence as decided by you and the councils. I wish you farewell, soldier. You and our fellow comrades bring pride in our nation.
Sincerely,
Robert Hugos, Commander of the Marleyan Army.
Silence took over. Reiner doesn’t know what to say or do. He actually did it. He and his family are safe. They are granted as citizens. What’s shocking he’s now the commander of the whole nation of Marley’s armies.
“I- I don’t know what to say…” The blonde Eldian was processing what he just read.
The soldiers mumbled at what was written. Lt. Romos now salutes the new Commander. “I’m at your service sir. My platoon is under your commander. What’s your first order.” He gave a smirk at Reiner. Around Reiner and Romos, the rest of the troopers salute. “We are also at your service, Commander sir!” They shout with pride.
Reiner nodded in acknowledgement for their fealty towards him as their new commander. “My fellow soldiers, I’m honored to be your commander. I will lead you into victory to drive these invaders out of our great motherland. I promise you, if you die in battle your families will be set for life for the loyalty and dedication to this country. Things will change especially in a time like this. We all have a common enemy. Today we are one army, not as Marleyan-Marleyans, Eldians or half-Marleyans. Today we are the Marleyans. Protectors of our nation, our families, and our beliefs. Are you with me, soldiers?” Reiner raised his fist up. Everyone raised their fists along.
“Yes, sir. For Marley!” They chanted.
“The first thing we need to do is Lt. Romos, to step closer.” The lieutenant did as he was told but was confused where this was leading.
“As today, I’m promoting you to General since you’re the last high up officer of our military. I know it’s not much, but after the war you along several promoting officers will get a ceremony that you deserve. Congratulations, General.” Reiner needed a new general for now. Since then their numbers have shrunk. This will do unless they recruit more. This army will break barriers of Eldians and Marleyans. Maybe this big step will help take the first step in diminishing segregation between Eldians and Marleyans.
“Thank you sir. I will bring honor to our military and nation.” Gen. Romos salutes in respect.
“I need two soldiers with good penmanship's and use our telecommunication.” Commander Braun stared at the troops. Two hands raise to get his attention.
“Sir, I know how to use telecommunication and penmanship. The soldier said.
Sir, I can help him out.” The other one speaks out.
“Alright, both of you go to the communication room and send messages to any surviving troopers from all over Marley and outside. Give them an update. One of you has to go to the frontlines to pass on the message that I will personally give you. The rest of you troopers are on guard and protect our base. You’re all dismiss except Gen. Romos and Porco and Annie, Armin.” Once he gave his order, the troopers left and the room was quiet with all five of them.
“Porco, since I’m the commander; I’m naming you my successor as Deputy Chief of the Marley’s Warriors unit. Congrats, you have earned it.” He gave a smile. Porco was flushed at the promotion he was given. “Thanks Rein- I mean Commander sir.”
Reiner nodded. “Ok now that settles. General, I need you to pick some of your best soldiers, maybe like 3 or 4 to find Mikasa Ackerman and my cousin, Gabi Braun.” General Romos salutes his commander and heads out.
Reiner sighs. He hopes this war will be the last. At what cause they keep this old centuries feud and fear between Marley and Paradis? No one is safe at the price of war, especially fuel by hatred and fear. Like what Mikasa said, all this started because of Templars and their ambition of ruling the world. This time they will stand their ground for a new beginning of peace for their children and their children’s children to have a future.
(Nathaniel)
The Usurper awaits for his bride as she walks down the aisle. She may be beautiful, but her face is pale and her eyes look dull. The death of her brat had hit a milestone. Nathaniel is pleased the newborn had died with mother nature being involved. That beast she is so in love with will know he has nothing. His child is dead, Historia is his. The “king” will find the Ackermans and send their heads to his bride as a late wedding gift from. He will grin with joy when she sees it and scream from losing her precious Ackermans.
The cruel man notices Historia finally stands beside him at the altar. The high priest began to perform the ceremony. Nathaniel takes her hand, but she quickly rejects it by moving it away. The nobleman rolled his eyes. How childish of her? ‘
“You acting like this will not stop the wedding, sweetheart.” His tone gives off a sweet but threatening. “So behave like a good bride. This is your happiest day.” Historia glared with hatred towards him.
So he forcedly grabbed her hand. Historia this time didn’t struggle and continued listening to the high priest.
As minutes turned to hours, both bride and groom were lost in their own thoughts. After all, the high priest’s monotone can put anyone to sleep. Finally the good part begins.
“Do you Lord Nathaniel of House Evans take Queen Historia of House Reiss as your lawful wedded wife to cherish her, comfort her, and love her through sickness and health. Through good and bad?” The high priest said.
“I do.” He grabs the ring and holds roughly Historia’s hand while sliding the ring on her finger. Nathan glimpses at her as tears fall from her eyes.
“Do you Queen Historia of House Reiss take Lord Nathaniel of House Evans as your lawful wedded husband to cherish him, comfort him, and love him through sickness and health, through good and bad?” Nathaniel can read her face. She wants to say no. Of course, she doesn’t have a choice.
“I-I...I...d-do.” He hears her choke up from those two words. Her hand trembles when she slides the ring into his finger.
Once the rings were exchanged, the high priest said his last phrases to seal their marriage.
“With the power invested in me and the blessing of Ymir, Sina, Rose, and Maria; I pronounce you husband and wife. My lord, you may kiss your bride.”
Nathaniel glances at his new wife then leans to give a kiss. Honestly, he can’t stand the though of kissing her or anything like sex. In order to have heirs, he’ll have to get over with. Maybe getting drunk will help to get it over that part later.
“As the law of our kingdom, Queen Historia will be stripped of her title. Lord Evans with your marriage with her majesty. I crown you as the new reigning king and his wife, queen consort. All hail King Nathaniel of House of Evans and Queen Consort Historia of House Evans. Long live the new dynasty. May the three goddesses and Ancestress Ymir bless you children and longing reign.” The high priest placed the crowns on him first then on Historia. The crowd cheers and chants.
After the ceremony, there was a feast in the halls of the palace. The newly wedded couples were seated on the high table where everyone could see them. Nathaniel was sipping wine and chatting with other nobles and templars. His eyes glimpsed at the crowds. Some were eating and chatting while others danced. He spotted his lover dancing with someone. The new king felt a small jealousy. He may be the king but their society won’t allow two men or women to have a relationship. He already finds it bullshit of their church practices. That’s why he needed Historia. One to be the decoy and two to give birth to his heirs. Nathaniel couldn’t stop staring at Gilbert. He’s such a beautiful man. How he craves to have him here beside him and not this whore. The light brown man glances at his queen who was gloomy since their marriage ceremony.
Historia notices him staring at her and scoff. “Is there something on my face, my king?” Nathaniel blink as he swore she sounded like Levi Ackerman.
“Yes, with makeup you look like one of those whores from the Underground City. I’ll tell your new ladies-in-waiting of not to put any on you.” He said. Historia rolls her eyes and looks away to stare at the dance scene.
“I’m exhausted. I want to sleep.” Historia said.
“Darling, could you wait for a bit longer? The guests came all over of the Three Walls to see us on our special day.” He grins then gulp his drink.
“No.” She said with a flat tone.
“Oh well, you will wait until I get tired.” he said without a care.
She mumbles incoherently while sipping a bit of wine.
One of the higher ranking templar members began to speak. “Your majesties, may your marriage be blessed with abundance and fertility. And your reign brings prosperity. Cheers to the King and his Queen.”
Everyone repeated. “Cheers to the King and his Queen.” The crowd toasted to the rulers and drank their wines.
“Thank my friends and loyal subjects. As part of tradition, the queen and I will have our first dance as man and wife, king and queen. My darling queen, may I have this dance?” Nathaniel smiles while playing his sweet act around everyone towards Historia. She was contemplating as her eyes stared down at his hand. Finally, she gave in to take his hand to be led to the dancefloor.
The music starts and he places his hand on her waist while holding her other hand. They waltz around the dancefloor going along the music. The guests surrounded themselves around the dance floor to watch the king and queen dancing.
Nathaniel observes how Historia gave a blank expression as she went along this dance. Her dancing skill is flawless and graceful. For a bastard raised in a farm, he would have thought she was raised as a princess. Once the music was over, they stopped while the crowd applauded from their dance.
The crowned king had his eyes again on Gilbert, who now has an envious expression. Gilbert walked away from the scene. Nathan knows this is hurting him. He wants to go after him to hold and kiss him. He had explained to him this marriage with the whore was just for political movement to be officially king without having the chance of being removed easily. All he needs a male heir or two then he can discard her. After the consummation, he’ll go talk privately with his lover.
Speaking of consummation, Nathaniel sighs and raises his hand up to silent the crowd. Little by little the place got quiet.
“It is time for the queen and I to depart for our final step to be man and wife.” He grins. Of course, some whistles and cheer.
“So it’s time for us to go, but don’t let us stop all of you to enjoy the wedding feast! Servants serve more food and wines for our wonderful guests!” He ordered the servants and the people to cheer happily. Nathaniel grabbed Historia's hand to drag her out of the festival hall.
As they walked through hallways to reach the bedroom, the door opened but Historia was shouting to be let go.
“Nooo let go! Please, I don’t want to do this. Don’t make me.” She was trying to pull her hand away. The guards closed the door. Now there are two of them in the dim light. Earlier the servants had the marriage bedroom prepared.
“Can you just shut up for once?” the king lost his patience and slapped his wife. She fell on the floor while sobbing silently. Nathaniel doesn’t want to do this either but that’s the price to be king.
“You need to get used to it. The faster I have my seeds in you, we’ll not have to share a bed ever. I don’t know why the Grandmaster templar wanted me to marry you? You are nothing. A weak girl; the bad seed of your father. The only foolish thing he did was to fuck your whore mother and let you exist.” He rants to himself but Historia can hear him.
“W-why does the grandmaster want us to be married? He has no business in our nation’s matters.” She cried out angrily.
“Of course, he does because if it wasn’t for him; I would not be king. Someone else would have governed our home. It should be the blood of King Fritz who should sit on the throne.” The king glared down at her. Historia grabbed on the pole of the bed to pull herself up. Her body was exhausted and still sore from childbirth. She’s lucky a fever or infection did appear then she would be knocking on Death’s doorsteps.
Historia feels scared as she sees him finally making a move on her. He grabbed her to have him gripping her wrists then pulled her closer. “Don’t make me do this the hard way, Historia.” This is the first he called her by her name instead with insults. With her being surprised, he tries to take off her wedding gown but the layers were thick. Stupid women’s fashion. Why do they always make it difficult to take it off and put it on? King Nathaniel begins to rip her dress since it’s the last time she will one.
His queen noticed her gown was ripped down in the middle from the back and felt the breeze of air caressing her bare back. The dress slipped down from her body to leave her completely exposed to him. She quickly covered her breasts and crossed her legs to cover her intimate part. Her tears resume falling. She’s now helpless and vulnerable for him to take advantage of.
Nathan stepped away to go pour a full glass of wine to gulp down. He needed to get drunk first. He finished his glass and poured another round. He sipped his drink and glanced at his nude bride who's still crying like a hot mess. This is getting old. Crying will not make it stop. He thought while finishing his second round. He felt the wine kicking in. Just when he turned around to grab the bottle, he could hear the door opening to see Historia wrapped in her ripped dress and opening the door. The king placed the bottle down to run towards her and pull her back into the room. He closed then locked the door. Now his grip was on her golden hair being dragged to the bed. Already, had her dress dropped on the floor. Her screams were heard probably the whole floor of the palace. No one will come since it’s their wedding night. They must complete the consummation to validate their marriage.
“Stupid bastard. You just never learn do you?” He grabbed the dress to rip a long piece of fabric. He tied her wrist a bit harsh. He pushes her to lay on the bed, her tied hands are palace in front of her.
Historia was now struggling to be free. “I hate you. I hate you! I fucking hate you.” She screams at him.
“The feeling is mutual.” He said coldly but drunk. His hands started to undress himself until he’s exposed too.
Nathaniel climbs on the bed hovering over her. He positioned between her legs, gripping tightly her thighs so she wouldn't kick him. The king began to thrust himself into her which her body became stiff. Historia closed her eyes so she could pretend it’s Levi. Nathan keeps thrusting faster and hard to go deeper. He now moans and mumbles words. “Oh goddesses, what sorcery is this?” He said in whisper. His heart belongs to Gilbert. He was always attracted to him when they met, but Historia is a beautiful woman with a very desirable body and he would be a fool to not notice or take the advantage. Due in time, she will learn her place. He will just enjoy fucking her until her purpose has been served. It’s such a shame, Levi Ackerman is not here chained up to watch his whore getting fucked by another man.
(Levi)
His grey eyes open from having a nightmare of Historia screaming for his name to come rescue her. He sat up from a chair. Since he came back from seeing his son being taken to New York City in America, the captain decided to take a small nap to have his anxiety be calm. It’s like his instinct zapping him to go save her now. Screw waiting. Her life is in danger even Iapetus had been on edge growling to go save her.
What you dreamt? It wasn’t a nightmare. It’s happening right now, human..
What the hell are you talking about?
You know deep down you're looking through her eyes. We need to get her out. They have harmed our goddess. That weakling had defiled our mate. We’ll give a slow and painful death.
So...this wasn’t a dream? He actually had the nerve to touch her. That sick bastard! Historia just gave birth. Fuck it we’re going to get her out.
Levi gets up to go put on his assassin outfit. He put his blades into their place then grabbed two guns for back ups. After he is ready, Levi gets out of the room.
“Ah Levi, grandson. I’m glad you're up. We have news. Armin, Annie, and Mikasa had sent more back up for us and Marley.” William walked towards him. The older man notices his grandson is dressed to go on a mission.
“Where are you going? Our back ups will be here by tomorrow evening.” He said.
“I need to go.” He said vaguely to his grandfather. He doesn’t want to explain why he’s in a hurry.
“Go where? We need you. If this is about trying to rescue Historia, you know I can't allow you.” The Mentor uses his authoritative tone. He dislikes using it on Levi. He can understand why his grandchild is agitated.
Levi hiss at his grandfather angrily. “I’m not gonna wait until something bad happens to her! I made a promise to my son that he will have his mother in his life. I don’t want him to be growing up without a mother like I had. I am going and that’s final.” He opened the door and walked out leaving his grandfather with sadness as the old man feared something terrible would happen to his grandchild. He doesn’t want to go through losing another family member.
