USING YOUR MENTAL SAFE SPACE AS AN ASTRAL STRONGHOLD

Safe space visualization is something I was taught in therapy, but why not use it for magical purposes? So I thought I’d talk a bit about my methods for safe space creation, what I use my safe space for (magically), etc.

What absolutely comforts you? Think of color combinations, indoor or outdoor? Maybe your safe space has a specific noise or smell. Maybe you have a designated god or goddess or ancestral spirit that knows the layout of it, or maybe it’s just for you. I highly recommend if you do invite a spirit in that you make sure it’s one you trust ENTIRELY. I let my great grandma who I love and admire in my safe space. Important thing is that she RESPECTS my magical beliefs, and practice in general, even if she doesn’t understand it entirely. Spirits that you aren’t super familiar with or have only met a few times are not recommended for being invited in.

Doing a meditation to explore your safe space is entirely up to you, but thats my preferred way of accessing and developing my safe space as a magical realm. For starters, don’t make your space too big, mine is just a small one because the bigger it is the harder to imagine consistently or protect in general. If you’re looking for a good safe space discovery meditation, the following link will lead you to a free one on a free app.

Revisit this space when you feel anxious, but also when you feel calm. Why? Well, put simply, if you only visit a space when you are in a bad headspace it will become associated psychologically with negative things for you. If you visit in all different types of moods, you cultivate a neutral understanding of the space, and it doesn’t gain a bad connotation.

IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS, PARANOIA, OR PTSD:

I struggle with these things, so i got ya. If you start to envision creepy shit or startling unsettling things in your safe space accidentally popping in, then here’s what i do. I acknowledge that it’s my fears acting up. And i just go “lol thats not actually my safe space” and bring myself back to a centered state repeatedly until I find peace. It may happen again and again but I keep taking a deep breath and not giving too much thought to why or how these things pop up, I simply draw my attention back to center, and breathe. Eventually (for me) these things have disappeared and lost relevance over time. If this concept of a visualized safe space triggers you to an unhealthy point, please don’t push yourself to keep doing it though. And as always please seek professional help for these symptoms of trauma, OCD, OCPD, and Paranoia in general.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST FOR SUGGESTIONS: You probably shouldn’t share a moodboard or map of your safe space with others. Even friends. It’s for you and you only, like a secret sanctuary that only you and any additional spirits you trust can enter.

Gaming can be a great way to relax and spend time with your partner(s) and spark some playful competition...

Millie would love action/adventure and FPS/RPG games. I think she would generally go for faster paced games with lots of action and teamwork like Fortnite or Overwatch. If Millie is going to play a slower game, it either has to have an interesting story or cool visuals. That's where games like Legend of Zelda, Undertale, and Flinthook come in. (And, of course, Animal Crossing). If Millie is gaming with her partner(s), she'll probably want to party up in Overwatch so everyone can play together (and have a coordination advantage). Absolutely cusses out toxic players, omg. Especially if someone harasses her partner(s). Whoever messes with y'all gets verbally destroyed, then blocked and reported by Millie. I think she'd be a fast fucking typer, ngl. She's also a super supportive teammate. No matter how bad the game is going, she's always cheering everyone on. I'd like to think she'd wear those headphones with the light-up cat ears because that shit is so cute. Millie is also a big fan of having matching/complimentary aesthetics for your animal crossing islands. Millie's is a western theme with communal vegetable gardens and lots of black roses everywhere. Visits her partner(s)' islands regularly and chats with all the villagers.

Fizzarolli cannot handle online/team games. They're too fast and overstimulating, and I don't think he'd enjoy trying to keep up. However, get him on Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley and he's obsessed. I also think he'd love some of the old school Pokémon games. When Fizz is playing on his switch, he loves to broadcast whatever game he's playing onto the TV and sit on the couch and cuddle his partner(s). He's another who would wear cute gamer shit, like the headphones with ears, and little face stickers! Fizz gets super invested in the storylines of whatever game he's playing, and is determined to finish every task and request from villagers or in-game love interests. He'd work so fucking hard on getting a five star island in animal crossing or completing farming tasks in Harvest Moon. Also really enjoys in-game collectibles. Fizz appreciates aesthetics, and would go all-out with the cute gamer look. That would include getting LED lights and projectors to decorate the walls, light up keyboards, those really cute headphone stands, and a cute switch accessory case. Fizzarolli's Animal Crossing island has a circus theme with lots of stages/performing areas and outdoor cafes with open mic stands.

Other than Millie, Loona is probably the most competitive gamer out of their whole group. Loona generally isn't horrible about it, but toxic players and enemy teams can be frustrating, so occasionally, she goes off in /team chat. Like Millie, Loona will cuss out toxic players. Loona gets super invested in the games, so even if she's gaming with her partner(s), she'll have a hard time "just relaxing." She generally doesn't like slower paced games, but I think everyone would have a soft spot for Animal Crossing. (And I wanna believe everyone would visit each other's islands). For Loona's island, I think she would either have a gothic or city theme goin on. Lots of trees and sitting areas with tarot card sets and flowers scattered around. I think Loona would have a lot of fun with battle passes and seasonal events. It really helps her with having fun with competition, rather than getting hyper-aggressive. Loona also has some gamer set-up type things; Comfortable gaming chair, LED lights, and she probably uses a mic stand instead of headphones.

Today, May 14th, we enter the period of the Runa Inguz manifestation,

The Sims 4 Greek Gods Legacy Challenge

Welcome to my 12-generation sims 4 legacy challenge based off the Greek Olympian Gods!!!!

Each generation must complete the required career and skills to level 10. No limit on children unless stated otherwise (I like to roll a d6 and have as many children as I roll for a fun challenge). The bonus tasks are considered optional. Each generation can be played in any world unless written in the rules for that generation. Money cheats not allowed, only freerealestate.

As a fun challenge, place a lot named Mount Olympus with the wishing well from romantic garden. Create a holiday called “The Fates” on every Friday- roll for a random amount of money donated to the well and thing to wish for. You must live with the consequences, good or bad.

Continuing with The Magician, from the Rider-Waite tarot deck:

Used in most tarot decks as well as in card games.  The Magician is in the tarot Major Arcana, and is interpreted as a symbol of power, potential and the unification of the physical and spiritual worlds. 

The magician originally started as a mountebank, or a stage magician.

Theories as to the Importance of the Baphomet/Magician in As Above, So Below:

Theories about the importance of these images:

· Baphomet leads to an association with old gods.  Is it possible that the puppets are an Lovecraftian-type horror?  These old gods inhabiting puppets and gaining their following through possession of children?  Maybe the adults as well, since Wally and Barnaby made it to a late show style TV show.

· If nothing else, Baphomet is a study in opposites and the occult.  In particular, Baphomet is currently known from a statue the Church of Satan built to feature in state legislatures in the US to protest the use of Christian religious symbols in government spaces.  The statue features Baphomet, with children at his knee (which was very much associated with child grooming by some Christians.)  For the Church of Satan, Satan is not worshipped in a literal sense, but is a symbol for humanity, free will, and questioning authority and established ideals.  However, the use of children in this statue does echo the discussion above.

 · As above, so below is referencing the literal division between the puppets and the actual living performers, controlling them from below.  In addition to the black whirlpool under home (which is how you access the “So below” page, there are other images that lead to this idea of what is happening in front of your eyes, and what is happening where you can’t see (this image is now on the wiki, so I will share it.)

We can see Julie's feet here and the scary looking dark below. At first, it felt ominous, like gallows or like someone planning to jump, but this is also a common configuration for a Muppet stage. In Jim Henson's biography, Jim Henson, by Brian Jay Jones, the set of Labyrinth is described as an actor's nightmare, with a series of openings throughout the floor to allow for the Muppet performers to do their thing amongst the human actors. (And the new documentary on Disney +, Idea Man, has some interesting footage of performance.)

I couldn't find a good picture of that set up, but here are the performers doing the firey sequence. 

I think this image of Julie's feet betrays a fear of the dark, black voids, and perhaps being controlled by another entity. I think it explains the use of the void altogether, along with the idea of being transported or being a door to another reality.

Hi hi! I hope you're doing well! I adore your writing and the way you characterize the twst cast so I'm *very* excited about this event of yours, so I'd like to request a matchup if that's alright with you! No rush, ofc!!

In terms of personality, I'm actually rather shy/timid and meek, but can be quite stubborn when it comes down to whatever it is I refuse to compromise on. I'm also quick to tears too due to being really sensitive so I'm also kind of known for being a crybaby even tho I try to hide it ^^;

I also really like to help others and being able to be the reason I made someone's day, makes mine even better!

For my interests and hobbies, I love singing and drawing/painting even though I'm not someone who's skilled at either. But I find these activities fun since I get to express myself and allow myself to just enjoy things. Especially since it helps me to feel less stressed after finishing a shift at work. I always feel re-energized afterwards!

I'm also into astrology and tarot, it's a lot of fun looking into the symbolism and hidden meanings behind them! It's so intriguing, especially how many ways something can be interpreted!! Is it really any wonder too, that I've always loved the stars as well? They're very pretty to look at even without the astrology aspect involved!

I also love the beach and collecting things like rocks/seashells/pretty leaves. Being outdoors is a great way to get out of your head and being more present in the moment, just like singing and drawing does! So I guess it's kind of also a no-brainer that I prefer it to being stuck inside working all day ^^

As for romantic partners, I don't think I'm very picky? But I do seem to gravitate towards people in general who are kind, intentional, and thoughtful as well as good at looking after others (even if they may not seem the type to do so, which makes it even sweeter to me because I think it's kind of cute). Though, honestly, I think just about anyone would agree they'd like those kinds of things in a partner haha ^^;
