What animal do you think Bryon is based on??

That’s a very interesting question, I’ve thought about it over and can’t seem to come to a conclusion… but I’d like to talk about it from my ‘designer perspective’ I guess, thank you for asking! Bryon seems to be one of a kind when we speak about Wilders physiology… On one hand, they seem to be feathered, and on the other, they seem to have some sort of muscle, since they move, contrary to characters that have other kinds of feathered ears, like Lily May of Talene, who just have the feather and that’s it. Characters that are hybrids from mammals usually have their ears at the top, like Lorsan, Lyca, Lenya, Soren… List goes on. So by that assumption, it’s probably not a mammal. (But he might as well be! His ears remind me of a lynx too, especially at the ends). They go to the sides… That makes me think of ‘elf’ or ‘sprite' qualities to his features, like Parisa or Eironn have, for example. However, they don’t look exactly the same.

If I had to pick an animal… I’ll probably say it’s based on horned owls, since the feathers on the top of their heads reminds me of Bryon’s ears. On some perspectives, they do look like ears, even:

Thematically speaking, it’s relevant to consider that owls in general have a very good sense of hearing, even compared to other birds. There are some mentions on the internet about being able to track prey at very long distances, pinpointing location and such, just like Bryon would.

If we stretch it a little bit, the ‘Sentinel’ part of his title also reminds me of a quiet owl perched on a tall branch, protecting and guiding from the shadows of the forest. But this is of course, up to interpretation. 

It also makes sense in why he has Elona as a companion and not other animal, since owls and falcons or eagles (I believe Elona could be based on a golden eagle because of her size), are both raptors, one diurnal, used to soar the sky while the other is nocturnal, patiently waiting to attack… I dunno, the similarities and  contrasts make it interesting from a design and narrative standpoint.

Bryon’s design is also intriguing to me because most of the characters with animal features tend to have some other physical characteristics around them —Lorsan’s feet and tail, to give an example. It’s probable Bryon has them but they are covered, which could make sense as to why his arms are dressed in a way that is revealing, but not really. 

If we take this into more of a headcanon territory, one could argue Bryon covers his arms in an attempt at obtaining a more ‘aerodynamic’ physique, so his cloak properly works, kind of the same way he covers his eyes in order to enhance his hearing abilities? Maybe his other animal features are not as usable as Lily May’s or Talene’s.

Which leads me to the other detail I spoke about, about ‘elf’ ears. Perhaps he has less hybrid features compared to other wilders based on animals… ? It’s intriguing but it shouldn’t be so weird, since it seems there is some range about it if you think about it! Kafra → Lenya → Lorsan → Bryon is a good comparison I guess.

Sorry if it’s too long! But I wanted to put my thoughts out there.

8. What is your favorite Rite? Why?

Oh damn, this is fun. So, I'm a sucker for "love in the face of destruction" tropes and the Coggies' Rite of the Parted Veil. It's individual elements are relatively straightforward: it allows a Garou to adopt a mortal as a Kinfolk. At the conclusion of the rite, the willing participant becomes full-blooded Kinfolk in every sense of the word, ranging from immunity to delirium to being able to create other kinfolk through birth. Ever since I've learned of this rite, I've wanted an elaborate 3-stage gay wedding with a Coggie officiating to help make a Garou and their human partner become spiritually united under Gaia. Even better if its right before some kind of absolutely devastating battle, so it'd be like 'hey babe, the world is ending, wanna get married?' I dunno. I just think it's got so much story potential and I've never seen it be used at the table.

10. What's your favorite Talisman or Talen? Why?

Fang of the Wyrm. This is another one of those really humanizing kinda Talisman that I feel like forms an important part of a Garou's transition from Cub to Cliath. It's a super basic rank one talisman, simple enough I think any theurge can be taught to fashion one, and is the kind of talisman I think den parents will carry several. It's a necklace with a white tooth on it. In the presence of Wyrm emanations, it turns black. The stronger the exposure, the darker it turns. You return it back to its white state by bathing it in moonlight. I like to think every Garou has one buried in a drawer or bag or box somewhere that's so used that it'll no longer turn white anymore. The way its such a literal example of the influence of tellurian powers and the role of Garou makes it both an indispensible teaching tool, but also a wonderful storytelling tool like the blue glow of Sting as a warning of nearby enemies.

13. What's been your favorite interaction throughout your WtA experiences? Can be in game, playing video games.. anything.

I was 19 at the time and was just starting to get more confident in Storytelling. I befriended someone at school who was into horror stories and I'd talked them into joining a TTRPG. They had no idea I was running a Werewolf game, they just knew I was running horror games and wanted in. And so I had them make their character using mortal stats and they started off as a human in the World of Darkness. Their life started off as normal (relative to the WoD) and things started slowly getting stranger and stranger. At the same time I was working in story elements of things in real life I knew my friend cared about, and fairly early on their character got invested in righting wrongs in the world.

Again, this was before we even brought in elements of Werewolf. Their character decided they gave a shit and already started deciding where they stood on things existentially, and by the time they'd had their first change they were already playing and thinking like Garou. I've been kinda chasing that high ever since lol to say it influenced the way I plan my stories is an understatement.

15. Who was your first Character?

This requires a little backstory. When I was a young angry teen, I spent some time as a ward of the state, and so I participated in a lot of different programs for "at-risk youth." In one of them we were given access to a ton of free books, and among them myself and a few other kids found half of a copy of Werewolf: the Apocalypse. Basically barely enough information to make new characters, and nothing else on the setting or enemies or anything. Myself and the other kids ran a game where we drew numbers out of a hat instead of using dice. That is to say we mostly made shit up and invented our own fun and lived out tv and movie tropes. So my first character was an absolutely beefed out version of Ryo Sanada from Ronin Warriors. I refuse to apologize lol. Needless to say I was completely obsessed with the game after.

27. Silver Fang or Shadow Lords? 

It used to be Shadow Lords, but with the Wte redrafts is Silver Fangs tbh. The idea of growing up in the extreme pressures of a culture of exceltionalism resonates strongly with me and my own upbringing - the pressure to not just be competent at something but to be an expert at it is all too real and humanizing, and I really wanna explore that with the tribe.

Hispo for days. While I have an urge to be a stronk woman, the urge to be an unfettered beast of myth is far stronger. Besides, look at this darling:

Plasma Grunt sent out a Patrat against Bentley and you can just tell that Bentley has a chip on his shoulder over the Gym battle because hes raring to go. Patrat starts with bide after Bentley wraps him up, after that I had Bentley use growth while Patrat stored energy. Next round Patrat releases the energy and Bentley hit him with vine whip. That combined with wrap gets the little rat int he red. Patrat manages to forestall hi defeat with detect but one return later and its over.

After defeating the Patrat Bentley learns Leaf Tornado.

The Plasma grunt and his buddies have enough sense to run off before we can really get going and run for their lives.

Its okay Hugh you didn't have a shovel anyway.

Argonian Raids and Presence in Morrowind in the 4th Era 

I still don't have any real good conclusion about this jumbled set of facts. So basically, TES has been slowly retconning away the scope of the destruction of Morrowind after the Red Year. When it's first mentioned in the Keyes novels, it's almost absolute. It still sounds pretty bleak in base game Skyrim, but there are still Dunmer in Morrowind. Then the Dragonborn DLC really limits the destruction, with information about how Morrowind began rebuilding within weeks of the Red Year. And then there's this stuff, which may or may not be retconned. Originally posted on r/teslore:

I know what a lot of you are already thinking: the idea that the Argonians kept any of Morrowind after the War of Accession is a fandom myth. Morrowind has been rebuilding for nearly two centuries, and is currently run by a council presided over by House Redoran. In-game maps show that the borders of Morrowind haven't changed. And all that is true but .... is it exactly true?

As a fandom, I think we've over-corrected when it comes to Argonians in Morrowind. I don't think there's enough information to exactly determine the situation, but there is more than enough information to suggest that there's on-going Argonian presence in some of Morrowind's territories, and that hostilities may never have entirely ceased. Let me present the sources.

1. The Keyes' Novels: 4E 40, 34 Years after the Acession War

Argonians are said to control the Scathing Bay, the former site of Vivec City on Vvardenfall.

“This is all controlled by Argonians now,” he said, “although they obviously don't live here. But they do have some ritual associated with this crater, what is now called the Scathing Bay. I arrived here during the ritual, so after running through half the realms of Oblivion, I had to keep running until they gave up, somewhere in the Valus Mountains."

They are also said to have settled in large numbers in southern Morrowind.

Ash, lava, and tidal waves had done their work, and when that was calmed, the Argonians had come, eager to repay what survived of his people for millennia of abuse and enslavement. Of course, those that had settled in southern Morrowind were likely regretting it now, as Umbriel moved over their villages."

The distinction of whether Argonians are settlers inside a Morrowind without new borders or Argonians control those areas is an important one. The information on Scathing Bay is definitely the second. The information on Southern Morrowind is less clear on that. (And we also don't know how those Argonian settlers were effected by Umbra in the end.)

2. Argonian Raids Don't Stop With End of Accession War

We have two separate sources with information on Argonian raids long after the Acession War. The first, from A History of Raven Rock, details an Argonian raid on Solstheim.

In 4E150, a small force of Argonians landed on Solstheim with the intent of wreaking havoc on the island, and Councilor Morvayn led the charge against them personally.

and Dreya Alor in Raven Rock says

We lived in a settlement perhaps a league from the border of Black Marsh, the homeland of the Argonians. Even though the Argonian Invasion ended a long time ago, there are still a few scale-skin clans that live within our borders. To put it simply, they attacked our settlement and slaughtered almost everyone. It was horrible."

3. Argonian Presence Inside Morrowind's Borders

Two more sources on Argonian settlements inside Morrowind's Borders, to add to the ones above.

Talen-Jei tells you:

Keerava has some family at a farm just inside of Morrowind.

This might just be an individual family, but I include it because of another Riften conversation, overheard in the Thieves' Guild.

Delvin: "Puttin' together another shipment from Morrowind, Vekel. Lookin' for anythin' special?" Vekel the Man: "Well, if some Moon Sugar should fall into your lap........" Delvin: "Maybe. That stuffs gettin' tough to bring across the border with all the Argonian patrols." Vekel the Man: "Well if it turns up, I'll be willing to buy."

The Morrowind/Skyrim border near Riften is patrolled by Argonians, huh?

4. Putting It All Together

Well, I can't. There's not enough evidence to put together a clear picture of Argonian settlement or power in Morrowind. But it sure doesn't look like hostilities ceased entirely with the Accession War or that Morrowind territory is exclusively under Dunmer control.

The border doesn't appear to have shifted, but this does not mean the state of affairs on the ground is the same. In comparison, the Empire doesn't seem to have every acknowledged Morrowind's secession, yet we know that they are in practice treated as Independent. It's perfectly lore-compatible for Independent Argonian communities to exist within the borders of Morrowind and exert some level of control of their areas (as seen near the Riften border). These folk aren't even necessarily all immigrants to Morrowind since the 3rd Era; there were plenty of ex-slaves for whom Morrowind was their home.

Some of these communities may have peaceful relationships with the Dunmer government of Morrowind. But Argonian raiding has continued to be a problem in the centuries past the Accession War, as demonstrated in Lleril Morvayn and Dreyla Alor's life stories.

Story Pile: Arcane, Season 1

Here’s a little bit of a trivia tidbit about how I write these articles. Typically speaking I will write an outline, just words, like, intro, image, spoiler warning, more, point 1, point 2, point 3, conclusion, and then I’ll fill in what I think are the starts of those points, then flesh them out and if a direction shows up I’ll come back to rearrange stuff, you know, very piece by piece, very grown. The introduction is typically the last thing I write, and that’s because by that point I have all the other stuff I want to set up already in place.

I didn’t manage that for Arcane season 1. I just started to talk and suddenly I had 1500 words down. This show whips, come listen to me talk about it.

Spoiler Warning, I talk about some events from later in the season in a vague way.

Content warning, mostly the stuff in this series is pretty normal in-genre nastiness but there’s some implied pet death, and some surprisingly detailed drug administration.

Let’s pretend for a moment you’re looking into my opinion of Arcane without actually knowing anything about the story of it. It’s a story about a huge city called Piltover with its underclass poor zone called Zaun, or rather, two cities, one called Piltover and one called Zaun, which sucks, because despite the fact Piltover thinks they’re the same city, one of those areas is for rich people made rich by the process of Capitalism and the other area is full of poor people who are processed by Capitalism. One day, a smartypants boy in Piltover created The Great Economic Disparitor Machine and then Piltover’s Capitalism kicked into overdrive and some gyres widened and centers failed to hold.

This is a story told by following the lives of people involved in these processes as they move from one part of the city to another. Jayce the willed worrier, moves from a class-bound position of factory labor to political power. Caitlyn, an upper class twit, tries to do some kind of public good by becoming a cop, which she at least would believe is how it works. Jinx, a schizophrenic and also just the best, is ejected from a family that seeks to preserve a status quo into a family that seeks to destroy it. Vi, also the best, moves from a position of helpless struggle to a position to enact the will of the state in pursuit of order, which for her is framed as a story of revenge.

I like to think of the story of Arcane season 1 as being a pair of trains on their tracks, barely getting near one another, until the moment the tracks curve and suddenly those trains crash into one another head-on, with a glorious explosion. There’s a ramping tension that runs through the whole story that gets clocked up very slowly. After all, you have to know what Zaun and Piltover are before you can know that they hate one another. Arcane uses character relationships to explain this story — specifically the way that every pair of characters who have a relationship can be seen as a relationship of disagreement. Jayce and Caitlyn don’t agree about who should be directly involved in danger, Jinx and Vi don’t agree about Jinx’s worth, Silco and Vander don’t agree about how to protect Zaun, and Vi and Caitlyn don’t agree about whose bed they should bang in.

And hey, you may be thinking, Talen, you know about videogames, how valid is this to the videogames? Are the videogames like this? Is this, for lack of a better word, canon?

And the answer to that is: It doesn’t matter.

League of Legends is the text this text is paratextual to (drink). But at the same time, League of Legends is a fascinating media empire in that at its very, deeply hidden, multi-layered heart, League of Legends is a mod. Deep down under it all, League of Legends started its life as an attempt to build a standalone version of Defense of the Ancients, which was, itself, a mod for Warcraft III. The thread of derivation can be pursued but the point is that it’s very evident when you trace the history of it that League of Legends was not a coherent world created from the top down with a distinct sense of things like economics and narrative but instead is much more focused on the vibes of individual characters. League of Legends is an accumulation of ‘look at my OCs’ then the interconnected mesh of concept space that those OCs need to exist.

A long time ago, someone said to me – or I read it in an article, you don’t care – that you can’t make a MOBA game, they have to be grown. It feels that’s very true when you consider the way League of Legends, one of the successful ones work; characters exist as these acretions of vibes and narrative pieces that then have to be asked to work in conjunction. Skins can wildly transform what a character is and the needs and demands of the world they’re in and it works because they’re not, primarily, characters from a universe with a story but instead OCs built around a vibe. They are, fundamentally, a style before they are a character.

None of this is a complaint, of course, because by having these robust senses of style, the characters can then be reinterpreted and moved into their own narrative space like you see here in Arcane and as long as the style maintains, the narrative holds. Were Jinx and Vi sisters before this series happened? Maybe. It didn’t matter. Are the other possible threads of story, like Warwick being Vi’s adopted father, ‘true’ to League of Legends? Doesn’t matter. The point is, the style holds, the characters feel true, if you can express them in their style.

That means that Caitlyn is stuffy and kinda gay, Vi is lairy and kinda gay, Ekko is hiphop and kinda gay, Jayce sucks and is kinda painfully straight, and as long as all these elements are expressed well in how the characters behave, then it doesn’t matter about the truth of any greater narrative to a pre-existing ‘canon.’ It’s beautiful, honestly, to enjoy such a blistering competence.

It’s kinda a funny comparison because I imagine a lot of people will sneer about positively invoking it but it feels like the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first big victory lap, The Avengers. The fact that Arcane exists is one thing, but the fact it exists and it’s so good is even more remarkable. I love how it looks, with this deliberate attempt at specific stylisation. The texturing on the characters and the world reminds me of Dishonored and of course I’m going to mark out hard for anything that reminds me enough of Dishonored but it’s not just because I’m easy. It’s beautiful because the pursuit of an animation style that is specifically a style means you’re not trapped under the burden of hyper-realism or a pursuit of it when you’re also trying to present the completely fantastic and ridiculous.

Make no mistake, this story wants to focus on the ridiculous plenty of times. One of the main characters in the story, the one who kind of represents a sort of sense of sadness at the loss of an exploitative stability’s best opportunities, is an aged Yordle, which is what League of Legends made up because the word Goblin was silly. Putting a character of his size in a shot with a full grown human adult just fundamentally looks odd if you’re realistic, but the fact he’s able to be a walking cartoon that has the same aesthetic style as the full size people he hangs near means you don’t notice that, you don’t consider the way that infrastructure is rarely built to handle him.

How does this guy reach doorknobs?

The aesthetics and style don’t always work together perfectly. There’s a famous lovemaking scene that people talk about as being cringe. I don’t feel that strongly about it, but I can understand why it feels a bit silly to others. Similarly, the need of the story type to have these highly emotional moments means that when the story needs a human being to kill off in the name of the Machine That Wants To Eat Blood, and it can’t use another one of the Brand Recognisable characters to do it, that means that we get that annoying trope of a 50 second love interest. We reveal someone has a crush, is working themselves up to talk about it, and then just as they are about to say something, they’re gone. Tragedy that only we, the audience really appreciate, sure, but doesn’t tragedy work better when the person it happens to understands what they lost?

I like Arcane. I find it very easy to talk about the things in it I like and it’s one of those shows where by dint of providing clear boundaries, things that definitely do happen and matter, and then ambiguities within them like why or how, there’s a lot of room to dig into what specific characters express or want or how they approach things. It is an OC landscape turbocharged with extra worldbuilding and character space that begs the question of ‘what would you make here?’ It is full of cool characters and some of them bang and some of them should bang and I don’t know how I feel about some of them banging.

Arcane is concentrated brain worms. It took something that lived and died on being able to hook you on vibes and concentrate that through confrontational gameplay and found what made those characters compelling then told a story meant to have just as much of an and then what effect.

Here’s hoping season 2 is good, but even if it’s not, season 1 is untouchable.

Vox Maxima Story Spotlight 5 — Into the Tambow

What follows here is a discussion of what, if I had the means and writer tools to make my Custom Magic set have proper story spotlight material, it’d look like this, it’d be built out of this. This is basically about story mechanics underlying a game system, and I want to present it to you so you can have a handle on what it looks like when I’m trying to explain game narratives for the presentation of conventional narratives.

And here we have the conclusion of the previous story arc – the end of the Vox Maxima – and then a new thing… after that.

Vox Maxima is a custom magic set created by Talen Lee. It’s composed of 187 cards, with 71 commons, 60 uncommons, 41 rares, and 15 mythic rares. Vox Decima is a custom Magic: The Gathering set, with at least one card spoiled a day, on Cohost, Kind.Social, and the r/custommagic subreddit.

Goals

This is the conclusion, the ‘gasp, to be continued in‘ moment of the Vox Maxima story. It’s meant to show the problems present in the world are building to a peak, that the time away from the imperial heart has brought with it a new push from the Emperor. Basically, now they stand at the edge of the empire, with all the knowledge of what the Emperor is really built on, with the billion murdered, and the realisation that even if they know what happened, they don’t know why, or what it means.

Express the Verge’s character:

Show that the Verge has managed to construct a civilisation, separate from the Empire, that does not need rulers or kings. People are egalitarian and share because they want to. People are willing to ask for more because they need more, or are afraid or anxious, and others understand that and are okay with providing help and safety when they need it.

Show that the Verge live not in ruins but in a deliberately changed environment; their cities are no longer consuming magical power and the like, they are not making things more dense, but spreading out and sharing and making things across the whole range.

Emphasise the importance of the Tambow river.

Prepare the group to splinter once more, leaving behind Elise as she heads back to the heart of the Empire with Cazas. The nature of this separation from Niamh can be acrimonious or hopeful – Niamh is after all, not a ‘real’ princess, meaning they can make a case for leaving her behind.

Primrose, Kraivh IV and Niamh have to dive into the dreams of the Tambow, and in so doing, emerge in the Ghostlands that mark the start of the next story.

Characters

The Tambow is a nice place. It’s a place where people share an ideology and hold to a cultural norm that accepts people’s strengths and weaknesses. It’s not ‘nature red in tooth and claw’ – it’s a respectful place that recognises the way things are, and appreciates them.

Torun is the eye-level brawling goon that joins the group as they arrive. She sees the group interfacing with imperial guards that are pushing at the edges of the Verge and wants to get involved to fight, because she loves the fighting and hates the empire. For obvious reasons. Torun travels with the group, who assume she’s a dumb barbarian, and while she’s definitely rough, she’s happy to explain how the Verge degrew their society, and stopped doing things that hurt the world. She travels with the group along the river, but can’t volunteer suggestions for what to do – she doesn’t even understand their quest.

Rue is one of the mystics that live along the river. She is happy to speak to the travellers about their situation, but has no interest in the Emperor. She instead extols the idea of living their lives the way they want to live them. Why care about their quest? Does it matter to them? If it does, how do they want it to end? They should act in the way that the world should work the way they want it to.

Luminur is a old werebear, who lives in a mixed form. He should be an opportunity to talk about how the Verge is not a vision of a place where you have two be two things at once – that all things are part of a flow, an ongoing, permanently changing dance between things that already exist. Luminur also probably should summon something dreadful from the river to fight Imperial forces. Luminur is a summoner, and always summons things in pairs.

Scene

At this point the story has been built up in a way you can escalate.

With his daughters out of the house, and therefore away from attention, the emperor has been setting up some good old fashioned purges and establishing his territory broader and more brutally. To the Verge, he has sent Rudel III – who is, like Jatku, a resurrected Vampire, a reconstructed version of the philosopher Rudel. Basically, the emperor has sent the person who should most want to protect the Verge to burn it back. Rudel III is accompanied by Gwynn XI, another strange undead who uses portals to protect themselves from the battlefield.

This is a sign of what harm the empire is doing to its edges. Where the dead fall they can be turned to more of the Empire’s skeletal armies, which then strip the land of resources and send them back. The Princesses see what’s happening, and flee to pursue the mystery of the Lost Decade up the river, looking for Rudel’s laboratory. Rudel III continues raging through the space, and chases them, while both fight or escape from various monsters of the Verge.

There’s a lot of room for a chase here; Rudel and Gwynn are persistent threats that chase, they experience more of the Verge, and move on from place to place.

At some point on this narrative, the group splits;

Jatku II may stay back to fight with Rudel and Gwynn.

Cazas II and Elise head back into the Imperial heart, and whether they do so amicably or angrily is part of the mystery

Primrose, Kraivh IV, and Niamh, either desperate and lost, or with the blessing of their sisters, meet with a tambow mystic – not a legendary character, as described, they explicitly explain that they are just one of many…

And fall into the Ghostlands, the realm where the Lost Decade happens. From there, the story of Vox Maxima ends, and then it’s the beginning of…

Niamh wakes up, after falling through the world. She sits up, and finds herself in a new, haunted place – where the Tambow mystic referred to as the ghost lands. She fell in with Kraivh IV and Primrose, but cannot find Primrose. Instead, surrounded by a looming fen, a forest with long fronds and thick mists, she is approached by an inquisitive, blue-haired, big-eyed and friendly fey figure with a tail and an eager voice and willingness to talk that calls themself Pip.

And here is where Decima Vex starts.

Decima Vex is set in a haunted world called the Ghostlands where there are strange signs of a terrible, cataclysmic event. A torn little shred of land surrounded by rolling mists, populated by hungering ghosts, it is about the size of a small country, with multiple different factions trying to find ways to survive and cope with the extremely damaged, eerie world in which they are trapped.

Decima Vex is a three-colour set focusing on five factions, with each colour represented. They are:

The Gwynn Combine (white-blue-green), a coalition of researchers who sought access to alternate dimensions to escape the Necrocalypse and in so doing, united their order of knights and researchers with the courts of the fair folk. Their keyword mechanic is Convoke.

The Ynvei Machination (red-blue-black), the grand conspiracy manipulating all events from behind the shadows – even outside of the Ghostlands – at the direction of the Emperor’s lost wife, Ynvei. Their keyword mechanic is Foretell.

The Volja Horde (black-red-green), the last remnants of a fairytale kingdom plagued by a nightmare dragon and its cursed, undead king. Their keyword mechanic is Eternalize.

The Cazas Dawn (white-black-green), a cathedral-building church of sunworshippers trapped in a world where the sun is a ghost of its own, a cursed eye they call the Saun. Their keyword mechanic is Exalted.

The Trezi Stand (white-blue-red), technologists and magitechnicians who seemingly spent generations building amazing synthetic structures that rival the Iacon with a tiny fragment of the power and support. Their keyword mechanic is Reconfigure.
