I’ve been trying to keep this blog about appreciating OG Loki instead of any negativity, but goodness is the series the bane of my existence. Imagine looking up your favorite character, and having to scroll past every result that comes up.

Imagine the only part of the fandom/community you can enjoy being a small side of Tumblr away from the main tags.

You cannot relate to anyone on Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc..

A subdivision on Tumblr of a fandom is all you have!

Finding decent Loki merch is hard enough as it is, but now you need to look out for hourglasses, and the colors orange and brown.

This is all because of the series. This is why us anti series blogs/OG Loki fans are so “cruel” and “evil.” This is why it’s so serious to us. It’s weird to feel alienated where you should feel like you belong.

Many of us lost the fandom that we once knew and loved. It’s not just about the series or how Loki is miswritten, its about us losing the connection we once easily had with others. You shouldn’t have to constantly explain yourself to others who are supposed to be in the same fandom as you.

I share a fandom with people who don’t understand the source that spawned the fandom in the first place. I share a fandom with people who’s only knowledge (of the character we’re all supposed to know and love) is ship fanart, fanfiction, fan theories, and headcanons. I share a fandom with people who take lighthearted Tumblr posts from years ago that jokingly state that Loki is around 16/17 years old seriously and as canon. I share a fandom with people who refuse to think critically.

It’s not just a fictional character or movies. It’s something we are passionate about, and it’s hard to share those passions with others who do not understand a fraction of any of it.

I’m very grateful for this side of Tumblr and I hope that one day we could have our fandom back. You shouldn’t have to make an entire subdivision of a fandom in order to see things about the characters ORIGINAL and DEFINITIVE appearances.

Fuck the series as well as anyone who groups OG Loki with the variant. Makes things a thousand times harder. I can’t even watch edits because you’ll think it’s an edit of TDW Loki… but then here comes clips of that variant. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Girl if I have to see that clip of the variant bent over a table one more time… I think i’m gonna lose it.

Hi guys, I've kinda realized I've never really introduced myself on Tumblr because I just presume everyone knows me from Twitter, and I've been on here since I was 12 😭

I'm Poppy, 18. From England (and that's where that ends I don't want to dox myself)

My interests vary: on twitter it's simply fashion, movies and music but for Tumblr I'll go a little more in-depth💕

Fashion: mainly 60-70-80s, but I post about all eras, my favourite models (in no order) are Bebe Buell, Suki Potier, Uschi Obermaier, The Boyds and Shrimptons, Kim Kerrigan, Charlotte Martin, Susan Bottomly, Edie Sedgwick (the factory as a whole really), Talitha Pol, Donyale Luna, Renée Simonsen, Yasmin Le Bon, Gia Carangi, Laetitia Casta, Adriana Lima, Ruslana Korshunova, Gabbriette and Deva Cassel. But I post many more <3

Movies: Anything Italian, Giallos, Visconti (blame my Helmut Berger obsession) Silvana Mangano, Monica Vitti, Pasolini and I'm in! I adore actors like Ewa Aulin, Sharon Tate, Nastassja Kinski and Tina Aumont. I'm especially taken with the French New Wave scene, Truffaut, Varda and Demy. Most of my favourite actors come from this period, Jean-Pierre Lèaud, Claude Jade, Juliet Berto, Anna Karina, Anne Wiazemsky, Anouk Aimée, Romy Schneider, Françoise and Catherine, Isabelle Adjani and Huppert!

My favourite movies are: The Story of Adele h., withnail and I, Conversation piece, The Song Remains The Same, I Lived With You, Almost Famous and Rope (1948)

Music: anything Yeye! Françoise and Sylvie own my heart. I love Marianne Faithfull, she's one of my favourite singers of all time. And women like PJ Harvey and Stevie Nicks. I'm particularly into 80s music, Duran Duran, Japan, Wham and the Berlin scene: Die Haut, Gudrun Gut, Blixa Bargeld and Nebauten, Nick Cave but I also enjoy bands like Led Zeppelin, The libertines Manic Street Preachers. Aswell as, musicians like Joan Baez and Emmylou Harris.

The Loki Series is just one big torture porn show, all they ever do is hurt Loki, demonize him for no reason, make up stuff to demonize him some more, and a lot of other things. I hate this show so much. All of the characters (Mostly Sylvie and Mobius) treat him abusively like verbally abusing and physically abusing him constantly. They try to make up things about new york that aren't true just to slander him and justify their torture porn, the real truth that was CONFIRMED is thanos tortured and used the mind stone on Loki to do those things in new york, look it up, also they make up things like say he killed his mother, when he didn't, Kurse did that, and that's in Thor 2, the writers keep making things up to demonize him for no reason. Sylvie and Mobius both constantly accuse Loki of things he didn't do. The Sif scene was just one big excuse to torture him as well. I'm sorry I'm just venting, it hurts my heart every day what they do to Loki, and it just isn't fair!!! I'm not watching season 2 but I'm observing it from others comments and I'm glad I'm not watching it because they keep wanting to hurt him, just like they did in season 1. I know I sound crazy, because to most people they wouldn't be this upset of the treatment of a fictional character, but I am, and it affects my mental health so much...

I somehow got my mother to watch Epithet Erased. here's what she thinks of the (main) characters (plus M*rtin)

Left is first impression, right is after finishing the series Molly - "I think she has ASD." / "She's cute!" (she still thinks Molly has ASD) Giovanni - "He's an idiot..." (affectionate?) / "He's an idiot." (affectionate!) Martin - "I don't like him." / "He's stupid, worst father ever." (even my mother didn't like him from the get-go.. damn) Indus - "Is he stupid?" / "He's stupid." (answered her own question there) Mera - "She's interesting." (opinion didn't change) Sylvie - "He's... weird." (see above) Percy - "She's funny." / "She's funny, I like her." (she didn't have much to say about Percy) Ramsey - "He's weird..." / "He's the only sensible one here." (I think she's interested in his Epithet the most?) Zora - "She looks interesting." / "She's rude, she's a bit mean, she's interesting." (I think she's my mother's favourite character. my mother will not confirm nor deny this) Additional comment from my mother: "I like how they move around like little tokens on a table!"

I've noticed that there's been surprisingly little discussion around Helaena's prophecy in the latest HOTD episode. I think it's about Sylvie, and that means some big news might reach Rhaynera.

GRRM likes to reuse character models with slightly different names, like Aemond and Daemon, or Larys and Varys. The latter both hold the position of Master of Whisperers and, throughout ASOIAF, Varys calls his spies his "little birds" and talks of them "singing" rumours to him.

In The Smallfolk, Helaena looks at her bugs and says that one of them has stopped singing, wondering aloud at the cause. We know from series one that Larys' sigil is a firefly, so he's associated with bugs, too. Perhaps one of his bugs has stopped singing?

At a different point in the episode, we see Dyana and Sylvie having an obviously staged conversation in a tavern. It's supposed to encourage the other patrons to support Rhaynera. We know that Dyana works for Mysaria, because of the shot of her welcoming Rhaynera's handmaid in Regent. Dyana probably does this because she was raped by Aegon and knows how awful he is. I think that Sylvie might be upset because of the way Aemond treated her in The Burning Mill.

Aemond has some pretty intense mummy issues, which makes sense. He seems to have a sexual relationship with Sylvie, but there's also the desire for praise, validation and comfort. Incidentally, if any sex workers read this, I'd love to know how common it is IRL. In Rhaynera the Cruel, Aemond confides in Sylvie and tells her that he didn't mean to kill Luce and that he regrets what happened. This information doesn't get passed on, as far as we know. However, possibly due to Aemond's behaviour in The Burning Mill ("one whore is much like another"), Sylvie now seems to be working for Mysaria - hence the tavern scene in The Smallfolk.

There is another option. Sylvie tells Aemond that when princes lose their temper, the smallfolk die. She's not wrong - although in this context, Aemond actually killed another member of the nobility. During their conversation in Rhaynera the Cruel, Aemond seems reflective, and perhaps he thought about what she'd said. Nevertheless, he doesn't seem to be any better at keeping his temper, as seen in the council scene in The Smallfolk. Sylvie knows what he can do when he's angry; she knows he can't keep his temper; and she acts accordingly to undermine the authority of the Green regime.

Now, I'm not a spymaster. Although, if I was, I probably wouldn't share that on Tumblr. Bad spy etiquette. But IF I was a spymaster and I was employing the former, um, consort (?) to the Prince, the first thing I'd ask him would be about the Prince. And a fairly significant thing for Sylvie to tell Mysaria would be that Aemond didn't mean to kill Luce.

From all of this i think we can deduce that Mysaria has this information, Helaena knows that the spy situation has changed in some way, and I think it's likely that Mysaria will pass this on when she thinks it's appropriate. It would be a great way for a, um, favourite(?), of the queen to grow closer to her. Emotional intimacy strengthens relationships.

TLDR: Helaena says that her bugs don't sing. Bugs are associated with a spymaster (Larys), and one spy seems to have switched allegiance. This spy was close to Aemond and may have "sung" his secrets to a different spymaster, hence Helaena's confusion about the bug/spy no longer singing (to the same person). Rhaynera might now get Aemond's secret: he lost control of Vaegar and killed Luce accidentally.

Of course, they kill Loki off again because Mcu hates him so much, FUCK YOU DISNEY AND MARVEL. I didn't see what happened but I heard it was a sacrifice, got it, you only use him as a sacrifice plot device to kill off all the time, I don't give a flying fuck if he did it to sacrifice to save people, it's getting really old MCU especially when you say it's character development for the 100th time, he's already had character development fuck you, and quit demonizing him. I will never ever watch anything Disney or Mcu again, I'm glad I never watched season 2. Oh and ending it's nothing like the comics, actually read Agents of Asgard for Loki's sake, Eric Martin never did any research, stop pretending like he did, he got it all wrong. Oh and stop supporting this show, Eric Martin is a Terf btw, he follows Jk fucking Rowling. I wish people would stop pretending like this is a great finale as well, the whole show has been crap, and the ending is just as much crap, it's half assed like everything else, not to mention it's a repeated sacrifice that I'm sick of, and that's my opinion

Molly: (Sitting Next to Giovanni on the Sofa) I would kill to have a Grunkle like that in my family tree.....

Giovanni: I'd kill to have him and his cool looking punchy things in his knuckles. Those things must've cost a fortune to own.

Molly: Those punchy things are brass knuckles, Boss, and those things only cost thirty to forty dollars to buy. (Lays her Head Bext to Giovanni's Arm) Though knowing Grunkle Stan, I wouldn't be surprised if he stole it from a store somewhere.

Giovanni: (Eyes Starts Litting and Sparkling Up) He would've been an EXCELLENT member of our newly found crew! ('Sighs in a Bit of Defeat') If only he was real......

Molly: (Turns to Giovanni) You still haven't come up with a name for our team?

Giovanni: (Sighs Again) Not yet I haven't. Every time I come up with one it would always come out lame and weak. Giovanni: (Scoffs While Crossing his Arms and Turning Away) I'd personally wouldn't give him the time of day and call him Fatso. (Turns Back to Molly While Giving her a Small, Reassuring Smile) But whatever you want to call him is alright with me, Beartrap.

Molly: Thanks, Boss. But....('Sigh') I dunno. This is starting to get more harder I hoped it wouldn't be. On one hand, we're blood related and he was decent parent when mom was still around.

Giovanni: But you feel like everything between you guys never been the same after that.

Molly: Exactly! Ever since mom died, he became more lazy, irresponsible and has little to NO care about anything or anyone around him! Meanwhile, I always ended up doing everything around the store and clean up after him and Lori while they're out in their own lieteral make believe land without a SINGLE. THANK YOU! (Let's Out a Frustrated Groan as She Crunches her Hands Up I Front of Her) It's infuriating, I hate them both!

Giovanni: (Gently Places his Hand onto Molly's Shoulder) I know you do, kiddo, and I completely get where you're coming from in all of this. But you don't have to see or think about him or your sister anymore if you really don't want to. You still have tons of years being a kid to look forward to before adulthood comes and wring it's dumb, ugly head around, am I right?

Molly: (Starts Giggling Once More) Dumb amd ugly are understatements~ (Takes a Deep Breath Before Speaking) But yeah, you're right. I don't feel like seeing dad or Lori anytime soon, but I do have a whole life ahead of me right now waiting for me take part of, and I'm gonna enjoy every moment of it with the people I truly care about. (Happily Hugs Giovanni's Arm) That includes you too, boss~

Giovanni: (Chuckles Lightly) That's the spirit, Beartrap! We got your back every step of the way, you can count on it.

Molly: (Happily Nodded) Right. Thanks for listening and letting me ramble on about my problems yet again. I know it's getting redundant at this point.

Giovanni: Nah, don't worry about it, kiddo. If anyone's deserving of letting their anger out, it's definitely you. I just hope it helps you feel a better.

Molly: Oh it does. I doubt I'll ever be over it completely, but I'm glad I was able to get it out of my chest for now.

Giovanni: Good, good. (Starts Ruffling onto Molly's Hair Some More) Can't have our pretend baby girl get mad all night before tomorrow comes~

Molly: (Giggles Ticklishly While Swatting Gio's Hand Off her Hair) Will you quit already, soup dad!?~ I just got done brushing my hair for the rest of the night!~

Giovanni: Soup Dad?

Molly: Yeah. You make soup and you've been acting more or less like a dad as of late. (Smiles Brightly) Put them together and I myself the coolest Soup Dad I could ever ask for.

Giovanni: (Heart Begins to Melt in Pure Happiness) Awwwww~ You really are a sweet kid, you know?

Molly: And you're the sweetest, evilest boss ever. (Gives Gio a Kiss on the Cheek) Happy Early Father's Day, Giovanni.
