Ichiro: Error Screen (Okay, so the colours and glitchy effects of the MV certainly suit Ichiro's vibe. There's a disconnect between reality and what happens in the MV, which fits his usual state of mind. Some of the lyrics fit Ichiro's feelings towards his mom too. There's nothing wrong with me still missing you, right? There's nothing wrong with me still wanting to be with you, right? So why don't you leave him, you deserve better, even though I'm probably worse.)

Akane: Heart-shaped Candy (I can't think of any of your prisoners' songs that would fit her because none of their crimes give off the same vibes as her killing her dad. But ah, I assigned Heart-shaped Candy to her because she's angry just like Yurika lol. Yurika working as a maid reminded me of Akane working as a waitress too.)

Daisuke: Empty Desk (HELP I can't quite believe it. Daisuke's babygirl energy is just too strong. I checked Hot Pink Illusion first, but the rose coloured glasses lyric didn't fit. Yeah, the lyrics of Empty Desk and Naomi's guilt after her crime fits him to a T. Everyone's reactions of her crime may or may not apply to Daisuke as well.)

Suzume: Lost in Perfection (The lyrics and the somewhat obsessive feelings towards Eiko's love interest? Yes. Not to mention, wanting for something perfect.)

Haku: Jump Together (This might be kinda funny because Riku is so similar to Kiyoshi. But uh, I took a look at the lyrics and... Let's just say one aspect of Riku's relationship with his childhood friend applies to Haku's relationship with Kurosaki. Just a little. Also, just imagine Haku singing a song obviously made by a band.)

Yui: Heart-shaped Candy (Again? Yes. Himiko. That's all I have to say.)

Rin: Portrait of Friendship (I considered giving him Asahi's song, but Aimi's song about friendship fits him well enough to be assigned to him. The lyrics and her being an outcast in her class apply to him well.)

Noa: Empty Desk (Only the most babygirl of my ocs get this song. She gets this song because the general sad vibes and MV fit her well.)

Kiyoshi: No Reason (Reina's façade and her potential true friend group's dynamics. That's all I can say before I reveal too much.)

Mayumi: Staying At The Top (Its really weird, but I think this song isn't a bad fit for her. She and Akio would both cover Purge March, so they're quite similar.)

Okay, Yesterday I watched Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and today I watched Suzume and now I'm spellbound

watching Suzume and D&D on back to back nights is an utterly fascinating experience.

I'm not very familiar with the rest of Makoto Shinkai's work but i want to be now: suzume was a visually impressive, well-told story. like a good song, it has a lot of points with resolution in it, but goddamn, when the movie hits that final climax the emotions hit so damn hard. utterly devastating and beautiful.

D&D was the complete opposite in a lot of ways - instead of really good animation, D&D has some really tasty use of CGI mixed with what i think are practical effects. really captured the spirit of a fun d&d campaign - basic, but strong characters that have a lot of chemistry between each other, tons of "it's so crazy it just might work" plans, and an emotional throughline juuuust strong enough to pull through. not to mention the acting fully embracing the inherent silliness of a d&d campaign down to Rules As Written and everything. NOT TO MENTION the incredible approach to the action scenes where it only cuts where it needs to. sightly dumb but in a fun way.

Sometime in the late hours of the night. Thought the pier by the ocean would have a few people around, but it was oddly lonely. Only the lights from the lamp posts stood to light up the path. The full moon, accompanied by the glitter of stars around it, reflected on the calming waters of the ocean. The breeze… well, it was soothing; enough to ease one's soul.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎I feel sorry for the future of the Arai clan with someone so weak.

And here I am, standing at the end of the pier with the light pois dangling from my wrists. Basking in the soothing silence around the place -- the scenery alone only made it more serene than it is.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The brat stands no chance with her limitation. She would be eaten alive.

It is pretty peaceful when there is no one around, really. No one to entertain, no one to be bothered by…

The lightpods that dangled from the strings illuminated a soft glow. Enough to put one in a trance. Lightly swing the pois to get a steady momentum. Wait for the right moment when the beat drops.

Breathe out. Open your eyes, and the drop begins.

Music continued playing, the spins got faster, more… focused. The simple motions of light illuminated the darkness around me as the world around me began to move in slow motion. With every spin and every twirl, the light pois were reflected in the eyes, ever so gracefully the more I spun them around my body.

The once calming dark waters of the ocean began to pulsate in a myriad of colours, in perfect synchronisation with the uplifting beats that surrounded me. Geometric shapes jutted out from the waters, constantly shifting shapes as they floated towards the sky above as they followed the beat. And the moon? It did the same thing as the ocean -- it pulsed to the rhythm of the beat.

Everything about it seemed surreal, breathtaking even. Every swing taken, with the melody and harmony of an uplifting track… it matched in perfect rhythm.

I could feel the adrenaline rush with every movement. The feeling I had, a mellow euphoria.

This is where my strength is. This is where I belong.

I'm getting all my wisdom teeth taken out soon.. argh.. I'm not afraid of the surgery itself, but I am extremely afraid of the pain after it's all over. I have to recover for 4-5 days at least, because apparently the pain peaks at day 4 or 5 on average. I'm trying not to think about it because it makes me almost panic. And I can't do any work during that time (RIP my paycheck), and then after that, I have to do only light work for awhile. My job is heavy though. It's lots of heavy lifting (RIP my back in the future probably), so idk what I'll do...

I've been reading Lord of the Mysteries, Coi to be exact, but lately I stopped, because I want to save chapters for during those 5ish days. I've also been reading a book called The Shadow of What Was Lost by James Islington, which I also stopped reading because right after the surgery, I have to wait in the waiting room for 3-5 hours, and I've been thinking of reading that book during the wait. I'm halfway through already... I don't want to run out of things to do... So I also recently started to read D. Gray Man while I have the other two series on hold. It's decent so far, but the manga doesn't have enough mystery for me to be very captured by it much. Also, I feel like the story is a bit choppy, and there's not a lot of time for me to end up caring about most of the characters. I'll keep reading it though. At least I absolutely love Allen Walker's character designs (☆▽☆) And I like how the story gets more dark over time. (Also my favorite parts of the entire manga are the end comics about the author Hoshino, the assistants, and the editor 😂 Their little stories make me cry laughing)
