Aadujeevitham Box Office Triumph: Prithviraj's Survival Saga Shines on Day 5
Prithviraj Sukumaran's latest venture, Aadujeevitham, continues to set the box office ablaze, surpassing Monday's test with flying colors and outshining recent Malayalam hits.
After a stellar opening weekend, director Blessy's survival drama Aadujeevitham showcased resilience as it navigated through Monday, maintaining its stronghold amidst the ebb and flow of daily collections. The film, which has garnered widespread acclaim since its release, exceeded expectations on Monday, setting a new benchmark for Malayalam releases in 2024.
Tumblr media
Despite a predictable dip post-weekend, Aadujeevitham recorded a commendable nett of Rs 5.25 crore in the domestic market on Monday, marking a 39 per cent decrease from its Sunday earnings, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, the film's total domestic nett now stands at an impressive Rs 35.55 crore, with a global gross of Rs 64.85 crore.
Aadujeevitham maintained an overall occupancy rate of 53.74 per cent across Malayalam markets on Monday, showcasing consistent performance throughout the day. Morning shows commenced with a 40.85 per cent occupancy, steadily increasing to 52.52 per cent in the afternoon and peaking at 61.26 per cent in the evening. Even night screenings maintained a robust 60.31 per cent occupancy.
In its home turf of Kerala, Aadujeevitham raked in Rs 3.85 crore on its fifth day, with 255,885 admissions across 1,387 shows, achieving an impressive occupancy rate of 66.79 per cent.
The film's Monday collection notably surpasses other 2024 Malayalam blockbusters such as Manjummel Boys, Premalu, Bramayugam, and Abraham Ozler, further solidifying Aadujeevitham's status as a game-changer in the industry.
Aadujeevitham's success defies conventional norms, as it lacks typical mass appeal or fan-centric elements. Instead, its triumph signifies a shift in audience preferences and viewing habits, bolstering the industry's prospects.
In addition to its box office prowess, Prithviraj Sukumaran's stellar portrayal of Najeeb has earned widespread acclaim, with critics lauding his career-best performance. Despite initial skepticism, Sukumaran's portrayal of Najeeb exudes authenticity, elevating Blessy's narrative to new heights.
As Aadujeevitham continues its triumphant march, it not only celebrates its own success but also paves the way for a new era in Malayalam cinema, characterized by innovation, authenticity, and unparalleled storytelling.

Society of the Snow Review - Frosty Epic Delivers Chills
What was supposed to be a fun vacation turns into snowy survival horror for the passengers of a Uruguayan chartered flight that crashes into the Andes in the Netflix film "Society of the Snow."
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4 out of 5. Sneha Jaiswal (Twitter | Instagram) Based on the often-retold crash story of the 1972 Uruguayan flight, which instantly claimed almost dozen lives and stranded the remaining survivors on the inhospitable snowy peaks of the Andes, the Netflix film ‘Society of the Snow’ is a chilling, riveting retelling for viewers unfamiliar with or having limited knowledge of the…

Fall - Review
Climbing an abandoned radio tower that soars 2000 feet into the cloudless Mojave Desert sky. It sounds like something Tom Cruise would probably consider doing before breakfast. Instead, it’s the plot of Scott Mann’s Netflix drama, Fall, which attempts to keep that “stomach dip” feeling for the entirety of its run time. The film opens with Dan (Mason Gooding), his wife Becky (Grace Caroline…

The Revenant (2015) Review: A Quiet Masterpiece in Brutality and Survival
It took me far too long to finally sit down and watch The Revenant, and now that I have, I’m kicking myself for the delay. This movie is intense, brutal, and, honestly, pretty close to a perfect film for what it is. What stands out from the start is the quietness of it all. Compared to most films—and even compared to other works by director Alejandro González Iñárritu—The Revenant thrives on…

I love how mqf's oficial description is something like: a good heart who wants to help others but then you read the novel and his reaction to lqg trapping ten infected men who are crying in panic is "great now I can start to work in my experiments with decomposed people to find a cure" and gets out a lot of needles, which makes the man cry even harder.
Even if we only get bits of the other Cang Qiong sect leader's we can reach the conclusion that no one there is normal, sqq is just biased.

Alive (1993)
Tumblr media
Summary: Documents the true tale of a Uruguayan rugby team whose plane crashes in the Andes en route to Chile, and their struggle to survive.
Tense and slightly terrifying dramatization of slightly terrifying story. More religious than expected, and scenery beautiful despite context.

Due to issues with Jack’s fertility, the Fenton kids were both conceived using donor sperm. The donor they ended up receiving wasn’t anyone special; just a random chemical engineer from Gotham City by the name of Jack Napier
And perhaps things could have ended there. Perhaps in another reality, they did, and Danny never had to pay more than a passing thought to his genetic father.
But in this world, Jack Napier faced one extraordinarily bad day, and it broke him. All he could do in response was laugh at the utter meaningless of it all. And by the time his cackles subsided, the man he had once been was dead. In his place, only the Joker remained.
Yet despite how suddenly everything changed, neither of them knew the truth of things right away. The Joker had never even known he had a son, since the service didn’t inform people if their donations were used. And though Danny had known Napier’s name, he had no reason to pay enough attention to the man to notice his disappearance.
That ignorance couldn’t last forever, though.
All it took was a few medical tests from Danny before the automated database systems made the connection.
And that certainly didn’t go unnoticed by those in Gotham.
It looks like it’s time for Uncle J to pay his kid a surprise visit! Ooh, maybe he could break out the ol’ electroshock kit and bring back Joker Jr too, make it a proper family reunion!

QUICK NO ONE'S LOOKING
(See readmore for thoughts, cope, bonus, etc.)
Anyone else up thinking about Ratio's big, strong, secure arms and how warm and all-consuming they could be in a hug or embrace. :/ Anyway
I just wanted to draw them being cute and seizing a sliver of a moment where they could have some PDA silly time without actually having any eyes on them. They're public figures and working adults with very clear boundaries between public persona and private life (to varying degrees of "in a sad way"), so while it may be in Aventurine's nature to constantly blur lines for various agendas and self-preservation (read: play "the flirt" without an aligned goal), I believe that in an actual relationship they'd be fairly private.
It's kind of fun to break your own rules, though! Ratio would be more upset about the consequences, though. He's a little bit of a hypocrite, which is devastating for someone of such discipline, but nobody's perfect.
I'm of the mentality of, "If you're tired of working on it, then just post it!", so here are some fun peripherals that I didn't feel like adding:
Some staff in the background sweeping up to evoke a blended sense of fragile privacy and liminal time.
A laptop on the aquarium/bar/counter because there's something fascinating about seeing people on their work laptops in public.
The rest of their clothes (casual friday)
