San Luis Obispo Int'l Film Festival 2024

SLO (that’s what the local’s call it), pulled out all the stops for their 30th annual Film Festival. It wasn’t a difficult decision to drive 4 hours down the coast from San Francisco for a double bill of films and touristing. First stop, Hotel Granada. Cue angels singing! Yep, made the right choice. Funny thing I realised earlier: the UK elections this year happened on America’s fireworks day (independence day) and the US elections this year are happening on Britain’s fireworks day (Guy Fawkes day)

#basically on the 4th of July the UK was like “have you voted???” while America was like 🎆 🎆 🎆#and on the 5th of November America’s like “have you voted???” while the UK is like 🎆 🎆 🎆#do I like the phrasing of those two tags? No. Will I cringe when I discover this post later? Most likely yeah #in all seriousness if you’re in America vote.
