Howl o Scream 2023 was one of the best haunt nights of my life! My parents came with us, and it was my dad's first time at the event. I have to collect my thoughts about it all, because there were so many amazing moments

When I realized that our hotel was literally within walking distance of SeaWorld, I had the idea of maybe walking over to try to snap a photo of the main gate to send it to my in-laws’ group text and I’d make a joke about Kevin wanting to “see world” in one of the better-remembered cold opens of The Office. I was killing time waiting for our room to be ready, and while I was still carrying my laptop and my big camera in my bag, I figured it would be worth giving it a try--it wasn’t like I had much else to do.

When I then realized that this so-called path was less a path and more a march across two large parking lots with not a ton of shade, I decided against it. I had yet to get my hands on a full-size bottle of sunblock, and it was hot and still during peak exposure time, and it felt kind of silly to do just for a silly inside joke bit for family. Had I really wanted to do it, I would have probably gone back later in the week, but given that I’m not all that interested in SeaWorld and this photo of the HR department did the trick, I didn’t venture this way for the rest of our stay.

Managed to get my hands on the temperature reactive Ice Breaker souvenir cocktail cup! It was the last one at Glacier Bar! When it gets cold it turns dark blue, and as it warms up it returns to its white/clear base!
