supernatural has always been meta but the post-show experience keeps getting more and more intense and I'm not even sure it's all haha funny anymore.

started in 2005 as a manly american man show and ended as the gay and homophobic show and ever since its been getting gayer and gayer.

the show ended 4 years ago. i really don't know what could potentially happen next

have we talked yet about how 90% of what makes dean so fucking brain-rot inducing isn't even in who he is written to be, as a character, but rather in how this character was so powerful he literally possessed jensen ross ackles into doing a series of subtle jacting joices that gave dean a depth no CW network character should ever dream of having.

Dean's appeal isn't in jackles beautiful face or in the stories the writers gave him.

it's in the way his eyes are out of focus and he shakes his head when he says "and when dad got home... ". it's in the wink and the little smile he gives Cas when he says "I got laid". it's in how flustered he gets when aaron hits on him. it's in the way his shoulders tense the second John comes into frame after being all soft with Mary at the door. It's in his decision to pick up the trenchcoat from the floating water.

there's so much power in these little things Dean just does subconsciously. Dean is the only character I've ever seen who just is and as much of a wonderful actor as jensen is, I don't even think he is aware of it most of the time. and that's why it's so beautiful.

Dean just is. And Jensen just does the things Dean would do. But I just know he wasn't planning and practicing Dean's pose change when he saw John. He just did it. Because that's what Dean would do, subconsciously. But the key is in the fact that it's not intentional. It's not like he sat down with the writers and director of the episode to decide what was the best pose change for Dean in this moment. It's not planned or strategized like that. If it were, Dean would have been just another character. But he isn't. In several ways he feels real. Because Jensen isn't acting, he's just letting Dean live through him. And every thing he does adds another layer of meaning to his trauma and who he is.

Petition to add straight disclaimers to the Destiel scenes just to avoid making the angry inclined audiences uncomfortable.

Castiel: "I killed two angels this week. Those are my brothers. I'm hunted, I rebelled, and I did it, all of it, for you..... but in a straight way."

Castiel: I need you (looks at dean), but not in a gay way.... I need all of you.

Balthazar: i think you have me confused with the other angel, the one in the dirty trench coat whose in love with you... figuratively of course.

Castiel: You changed me Dean, I love you... your my purley platonic baby daddy, fist bump it out bro.

I think we can all agree Supernatural is one of the most 'dudes just being bros' shows out there. With absolutley no confusing homoeroticism simmering under the surface. I think these changes would help show that despite all the outcry, at the end of the day, Castiel was just a lil angel who gave up everything, and changed the entire world to make a random dude happy... in the straightest possible way.

You ever think about the insanity of Crowley making it a point at the start of Dean’s demon arc that he never lied to Dean about the Mark of Cain, despite not telling the entire truth about it? And tells him that that’s important? But then Dean lies to him throughout the entirety of their mission to stop Cain? About being in Cain’s list? And about how he’d give back the blade to Crowley when he planned to give it to Cas all along? And how it mirrors Cas choosing Crowley over Dean way back in season 6? And him lying to Dean all throughout that season? And how it’s all about infidelity? You ever think about that?

Sometimes I think midam was written to spite destiel. Yeah, most of it is on jabel's disregard of the acting cues, but they were already written as, like, friends. Or at least an amicable partnership. The two ships are the same but different. Angel-Human ship. Angel half turning their backs on heaven. Both their bonds are literally forged in hell. Both their relationships are Not Meant To Be (God deeming destiel as Not Canon in His story and Adam literally was Not Made For Michael tho i still have my doubts about that).

They're virtually the same except for the fact that midam is the softer and much healthier version of destiel. It's like they're saying, "hey, look at this brand new non-toxic angel-human relationship we totally write on purpose. isn't it nicer to like the relationship we totally planned than the one we didn't?"

Except it can't be out of spite because 1) they planned to make destiel canon anyway. 2) they shit all over midam AND destiel in the end.

I guess what i'm trying to say is, what the fuck was the reason for midam??????

why is the holy fire scene in tmwwbk edited Like That? whenever the camera is on Sam or Bobby it's medium shots and they're in the background, their faces are kinda hidden by the shadows

but Dean's shots are perfectly illuminated close ups of his face so you get a perfect view of the hurt and betrayal and anger in it and the beauty of every millimetrical jacting joice
