I belong to a community that loves and cares for autistic children and is inspired by them. When I was 16, I worked as an Intern, Dance Teacher, and Fundraiser in a Non-governmental organization (NGO) working for autistic children. The ability of autistic children is usually undermined by people. I am happy I was able to challenge that belief. While working there, I was also studying positive sanctions, positive reinforcement, and continuous reinforcement techniques in AS-Level Sociology and Psychology. I took the consent of my employer and applied these techniques to teach autistic children in the form of a game. I used three types of positive sanctions, verbal reinforcement (E.g. Good job!), facial expression (E.g. Bright smile), or physical rewards (Gifts) whenever children picked the correct answer in the game. After I used these techniques, the children enjoyed studying more and were improving. I taught a mildly autistic boy about Gravity and introduced him to Einstein. He was keen to learn about this. In addition, I created a group in a student community app named Goodwall. I connected with people from different countries and sectors and encouraged them to bring innovative ideas to teach autistic children. With the help of this group, I taught the children Newton’s third law of motion in a fun way by using a Balloon rocket. When I was teaching these children, they inspired me to be as passionate, strong, and pure as they are. While giving them dancing lessons, they gave me a lesson that we should never give up.
