The castle had been on a strict lockdown since the incident at Mabon and curfews had been put in place in the town until the assassin could be located. And you? You hadn’t been allowed to leave the castle grounds since, but luckily for the castle guard, you had no inclination to go out anyways. 

It was difficult to not let anxiety consume you as you stayed in your room most days, not even having the will to participate in the War room where they were having meetings nightly on the whereabouts of the assassin.

Truthfully you felt strong that if they hadn’t caught the assassin by now, then surely they’d be long gone. Wheein however told you that there was no way an outsider could get past the borders of Penumbra and therefore it would have to be someone who lurked inside as its residents. 

The whole thing made you uneasy.
