Shallan is our favorite liar and with the Lightweaver ideals focused on deception, it was an easy choice to pick a flower with that meaning. When I saw the description of the diphylleia meaning I immediately thought of her, it's entwined with the cherry because the honesty doesn't come easily. She doesn't want to show her true self, but she does. I put the purple hyacinth in the background as a reference to all the stuff she's done and repressed, it's still there but it's not the focus.

I regret that I couldn't fit more flowers with lively meanings in, sorry Shallan.

It has been a hot minute since I’ve done any art for rwby and i wanted to continue this series since rwby makes so many amazing weapons and I love to analyze its line art from many povs and references before I decide how I want to draw them.

(1.44) Growing Resolve

As the sun set over the newly-defrosted forest, Mousetail headed toward the camp's heart. She had spent the day hunting, as did most of the clan's warriors. Since the weather was so nice now, it was ideal to spend that time gaining strength and keeping the clan healthy... or so Mousetail figured.

Of course, the nice weather didn't override everything that was on Mousetail's mind.

Stormflower's proposal still weighed heavily on her thoughts as she mulled it over and over and over... the thought of reuniting with her long-estranged father was nothing to scoff at. He had been exiled long ago for what Honeypurr always said was an unfortunate misunderstanding... but what if Antstride was right to worry? Her brother was too worried about getting in trouble to be completely on board, and though Birchshine had said she wanted to come along...

...Mousetail couldn't help resenting her sister, who continued to fawn over Magicburst whenever she thought nobody was looking. Mousetail had told her directly about the fight she and Magicburst got into just days ago, but Birchshine insisted there must have been... some sort of misunderstanding. But what was there to misunderstand? Magicburst made it abundantly clear that he had no interest in making amends.

She did her best to ignore the lovey-dovey scene that took place just fox-lengths away from her, a wave of distant anger growing in her chest. It's fine. It would be fine. Birchshine can like whoever she wants. Even if that cat happened to be a piece of-

"Fox-dung!" Mousetail hissed under her breath as she bumped into someone exiting the bushes, though she swiftly bit her tongue as she recognized Stormflower's spotted pelt.

"Oh! Pardon me," The healer apologized casually, seeming completely unbothered by the impact. "I didn't realize any cats would be out here."

"Yeah, plenty of cats are still out and about." Mousetail couldn't help the venom in her tone, though she did feel a little bad about the subtle jab at her sister's whereabouts. Stormflower seemed briefly puzzled by the response for a moment, but she soon appeared to understand.

"Here, walk with me," The spotted molly requested, leading Mousetail with a flick of her ear. Mousetail followed, albeit somewhat reluctantly.

"I was hoping to give you more time to think about my offer," Stormflower began, "But it appears our bumping into one another has come at a convenient time. I was just on my way to meet with him."

Mousetail felt her pelt jolt in surprise. "Y-You were going to see..?"

"Your father, yes," She hummed softly. "You're welcome to tag along if you'd like. He may be a bit shocked to see you, though."

"I..."

The words dried up on her tongue. Mousetail had wanted to wait for Antstride to be convinced, and for Birchshine to have a moment to join them, but...

"...I'd like that, actually," She mumbled.

"Wonderful! Shall we go, then? We shouldn't be too long, but perhaps with the long trek... we might not be back until morning."

Mousetail nodded, almost afraid that she'd change her mind if she opened her mouth. Surely her siblings couldn't fault her for... taking the opportunity while it was there?

Birchshine and Magicburst have been spending more and more time together now that Birchshine has become a warrior. The two are now good friends.

Mousetail decides to join Stormflower in visiting Skunktooth without consulting her siblings further. The pair sneaks off to meet him under the cover of the night.

Along the way, the pair discover a gemstone sparkling with the light of the moon. Sensing its importance, Stormflower collects it.

about storms and flowers

When I was younger, I lived right next to big farmers fields. I used to love going outside and playing with the other kids. I didn’t really care about the weather, I just ran outside every chance I got.

We would build little houses out of grass, igloos when it snowed, collected rocks when around dry season.

There really wasn’t a day I did not go outside for at least a few hours. Every weather had its benefits.

What I loved to most about it was when there was a stormy day (and my dad basically forced me to stay inside -at least for the worst part of the storm- and I patiently (not really) waited (I was screaming, begging for him to let me outside) until the storm calmed down  and without hesitation (or shoes) I ran outside, through puddles, past the mailman and onto our fields. 

The other kids followed my example and started playing or jumping into the little river next to our beloved fields. 

I walked alongside the river, ignoring the others even though it brought me great joy seeing them craving almost the same kind of experience after the storm. 

I started searching for something particular, a flower that, it is said, only blooms after a storm has occurred.

I did that every time the storm calmed.

Once found, I ripped a few out and put them into my room, right next to the window so that at night, the moonlight could shine on them.

For some reason, it became a ritual and I don’t even know why or how I invented it.

And to this day, those flowers are my favorites. 

I don´t know if it’s the metaphor, that these flowers only reveal themselves after nature has taken it’s toll on everything else, almost to prove that they’re stronger than the rest.

Maybe it’s just because when I look at those flowers, I remember the days I was truly free, truly happy and disconnected from everything that adults have going on (which is, let’s be honest, mostly deadlines and bills and other crap)

Maybe it’s just because I genuinely think those flowers are the prettiest.

Whatever it is, those flowers will always be in my heart, and then one day, when life is getting stormy, they will bloom and I will love them how I always did.

Guilt is something that can hurt us…

It would be late at night, Jaune would be in the leisure area that would be close to the bedrooms, he would be alone, He would get a glass of water and take it to his bedroom, In the corner of the room Penny would be ''sleeping'' and then he would sit on the bed and He would take his sleeping pills with the help of water to make it go down easier.

Jaune(Mind): Another night of trying…Another night of trying to have a peaceful night…

Jaune would fall asleep but after a few minutes he would wake up again in the same place as the incident but everything would be black and white except him, He would walk through that strange forest and even notice colorful footprints on the ground, He would follow with curiosity and enter a clearing where he would see each weapon of the people who died in the incident, Jaune would see it and try to leave the clearing but noticed that in the same place he had come there was a wall made of rose thorns.

Jaune: No…Not again!

Jaune would be on his knees and everything around him would turn black and the weapons would approach him, surrounding him, and each one would begin to glow.

Crescent Rose(Ruby): It's okay jaune! It's not your fault.

Ember celica(Yang): I hope my little sister is safe, The Grimms here don't seem as normal as in patch.

Myrtenaster(Weiss): I'm a complete failure to my family. I should have stayed in atlas…

Gambol Shroud(Blake): I hope my parents forgive me for the choices I made...

Magnhild/StormFlower: I wasn't strong enough to protect us…/It's okay, nora, you've done enough…

Miló and Akouo: I believe you will be a great hunter…

The weapons mix and it would transform into a being that would have a white fang mask that would look at Jaune who would be shaking trying not to look at the being

???: You may have heard their last words or what you were thinking, but the whole world saw that interview and saw and heard what you said, showing how you are nothing more than a coward and a complete shame for your family. You should probably be ashamed of yourself why you just don't wake up!

Jaune was woken up by Penny who was shaking his arms waking him up and he would look at him confused and she would look with concern in her eyes.

Penny: Friend Jaune, your heart rate was at an alarming level. Do you want me to call Professor Glynda?

Jaune: It's okay Penny, I just had a nightmare…

Weiss: You with long hair and a beard, with at least 4 kids. I could go for more.

Though the chill from leaf-bare still hung in the air, the cats of Lightclan were relieved to find that the billowing snow had ended for the time being, and the weather had warmed up enough to melt what frost remained. While trees remained barren, the green grass began to flourish, and the flowers were already beginning to sprout.

Newleaf had arrived, and Birchshine was just as excited as any cat. She hadn't seen the forest so full of life and color since her kithood! There were so many new sights and sounds... not to mention the prey pile would be so much easier to fill now that prey was beginning to peer out from their dens.

Birchshine had already caught several pieces of prey to contribute to the clan. Nothing quite filled her heart with more pride than providing for her clanmates, but even still, the warm air filled her heart with a sense of longing. What further changes would Newleaf bring to her life? She couldn't wait to find out.

The snow has melted, and the flowers have begun to grow once more. The season is now newleaf.

Bearpaw teaches Sleetkit, Elmkit, and Flowerkit some hunting techniques now that the weather has warmed up.

The kits are getting close to their apprentice ceremonies. Lightrunner has been spotted mumbling about their potential future mentors...

Lightrunner and Stormflower have a playful spar in the middle of the camp.

The pond in camp has thawed. The cats of LightClan can fish once again.

The Forest Spirit's garden is full of mud. The plants inside are still dormant for the time being.

Chapter 32: Stormflower

She could see the worry lining Nesta’s features. The age-old unending need to protect her, of all people, at all costs.

But Elain, too, had a need to protect her sisters.

And a history of doing so with violence.

“Do you not remember?” Elain asked quietly, stepping with grace across the stone. “That day beneath the elder trees?”

He snapped your wings, broke your bones.

“Do you not remember?” She gently brushed Cassian’s shoulder as she passed him by. “Lives scattered like ash on the wind.”

Elain closed her eyes and stepped towards the far window.

“I still remember.”

The words were quiet, softer than a lullaby.

“The blade sang as I sank it into his throat.”

Don’t you touch my sister.

“The blood, black as night,” she whispered, “it stank of every vile deed he’d ever done.”

Elain reached the window and unlatched the lock, welcoming in a damp breeze singing of a far-off storm.

“For centuries he was your greatest enemy,” she murmured, staring into the distance, “but not ten thousand males in their armor,” she pressed the window open wider, “the generals with such mighty steel,” she inhaled a breath of fresh air, “or the seven High Lords in all their holy power, could touch him.”

She traced a delicate hand down the open windowpane.

“But do you not remember?” Elain murmured softly, gazing at the dark horizon.

“I slew the master of your nightmares like a whisper on the wind.”

Elain turned, her gentle chestnut eyes scanning the faces of her family.

“Hybern’s life was the first I ever took,” she said quietly, before turning back to the open window once more.

“I often wonder who will be the next.”
