#saw this on twt and thought of them and almost started tweaking#also saw someone on twt reading this as an analogy for having a depressed mother and started tweaking even more#idk i think i've come to learn to read Elara as someone as severely depressed as Maven is#facing the consequences of having the life she tricked herself into thinking she was destined for#then feeling an all-encompassing emptiness and detachment to everything she thought she craved#i think she tricked herself into thinking she was destined to bear the king a son because she had no other choice#(i think she was definitely pressured by her family to become queen. but house merandus' generational familial trauma is something i'm#not gonna go into now. but her house -and possibly close family- definitely had something to do with her marrying tiberias).#so she has no choice really#and upon having a son i imagine she oscillated between being obsessed over him beecoming stronger than her step-son#(what we know about her forcing maven to walk when he was little. and other things we don't know about propably)#and feeling a detachment so deeply rooted for maven that it scared her#of course she also loved him#and tried to be a good mother to him as best as she could#but i also think there are some parts of her she never allowed maven -or ayone- to reach#no matter how close he tried to be to her and how many times he tried to cross that bridge between them#especially when he was little. but tbh also when he was older#and this image reminded me of that part of their dynamic idk#also thought of this image when elara died and maven would still clinge to her. even if all that was left of his mom was half a corpse#but then i remembered he didn't even have a corpse to bury. and i almost collapsed on the floor#they make me so terribly sad don't even joke lad#merandus family#maven calore#elara merandus#red queen series#red queen

I literally walked away for two minutes tops to make coffee and came back to his ass sitting on this water color palette and my painting open after spilling my watercolor water all over it

#okay i’ll put the lore here in the tags because i need you guys to know what i did to make therése unwel#*unwell#so therése is from a minor noble house in starkhaven#she grew up being really close to her mom#and also learned her warrior training through her mom!#she was also close to her dad and went hunting with him often#when therése was 17 her mom got assassinated by what she and her siblings assumed was a bitter rival house#but they couldnt quite figure out. why#her dad remarried and about 2 years of that therése found out her father was having an affair with his now wife while during his marriage#to therése’s mom. and because therése doesnt Know how to handle emotions healthily at this point she becomes pissed#so when she and dear old dad go hunting the week after she kills him#then burns down the hunting cabin they were staying in#then kills her step mother#and then her siblings (reasonably) turn her in#and as punishment she gets sent to the gallows#but one of the spectators was a warden and was like. we need recruits always give her to us#and they did and now she’s a warden. making infants a thing in the sims 4 is the worst thing that ever happened to me. like theoretically i agree with babies no longer being literal objects but as the worlds' number one toddler gameplay hater, introducing Toddlers 2: Even Less Independent Version has been my personal nightmare. my family is on baby number 2 now and i actually hate his little face. make it stop
#i have loathed toddlers since the ts2 i can still hear them screaming and pulling at the bars of their crib if i close my eyes#i know i can just age my sims up and skip it but i need the reward trait for freakishly fast skill gain okay#i got lucky though because apparently sometimes family members will randomly stay over for a couple of days before/after a baby is born#but since i sped through the pregnancy and the baby phase theres now 2 great-grandmas in the house who autonomously take care of the infant#btw the great grandmas are vampires and theyre accidentally dating their step-grandchild because i forgot and then it was too late.#no one is married though so the game doesnt recognise them as family at least...? 😭#personal#the sims

#ive been wondering this for a while bc one of my super close friends has been dating this girl for like 4 months atp#and since then i think our communication has gone down by a lot ajsbsf#for context this guy is rlly good friends with me and my bf!! he and my bf go waay back since they were 5 😭#and he and i trauma bonded in hs LOL which is why we're so close#he's at the level of like. he could be my maid of honour in my wedding 😭 like i would put him there along w my bsf#bc next to my bf i think they're the next 2 people who know me best 😭 but my bf also wants him as a groomsman 😭#and i think ive honestly witnessed him at the lowest points of his life hsbfsdf#there was one time we came from a night out with friends and when he dropped me home he had to park outside my house for a bit#bc he was having a full on breakdown and didn't want to go home yet 😭#i think ive witnessed him at many stages of his life basically sdfbsjdf#and i mean im not rlly taking it personally that he isnt talking to us as much cos i respect the whole new relationship phase#i also wouldnt want to cause problems or make his girl see me as a threat or smth 😭 so taking a step back a bit was a given#but my bf is fr getting sad abt it and honestly i am too a lil bit 😭 cos where is our friend 😭#i talked so much again#anyway what are some thoughts on this im curious#maybe im also just overreacting
